For Birth Control "I was on this for one month, and for that entire month, I hated it. I’ve been on different pills before-Marlissa and Apri-which both made me nauseous and moody, but Lo Loestrin was pretty bad. I was spotting for a week and a half before my period, and I even got my period two days before I finished my active pills. That had never happened before with any other birth control pills I was on. Also, the period I got was excruciating. My ovaries were rock solid, and my cramps were terrible. Plus, I was bleeding way too much for being on birth control."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I am a 40-year-old female with heavy bleeding and painful ovarian cysts. My gyn recommended this pill. I almost completed my sample pack. I am on the second brown pill and awaiting my period. It makes me nervous when I don't see my period. At least I am happy to read that I will see my period when I take the third brown pill. I have to say that the first month was rough. I had very bad headaches, and I noticed I was very moody and even felt depressed. I did not experience any nausea or weight gain. I will stick it out for three months and see what will happen."

For Birth Control "I take this birth control mainly for cramps, and I've been on it for almost two years. I only feel nauseous if I miss a pill and have to double up or take 2 a day. It made me nauseous when I first started taking it, but that went away pretty quickly. The plus sides I've had are: 1) light periods that usually last only 4 days, 2) I only cramp on the first day usually, but if I do any other time, it's brief and pretty tolerable, 3) I always start at the same time every month, 4) no spotting throughout the month whatsoever, 5) no weight gain, 6) and no acne. Downsides: 1) super low libido, except for when I'm actually on my period, which drives me insane. All in all, I'd say it's a good pill for what I mainly take it for."

"I have been on this pill for 7 or 8 months, and I love the fact that I'm not pregnant or I don't have to worry about getting pregnant, but I have horrible mood swings. I cry more than ever about the simplest things. I have also gained weight, and when I work out, I feel like it's useless. I've felt nauseous, even threw up a few times. Sometimes I get bad stomach pains. I've felt dizzy and anxious before. I'm seriously thinking about switching pills."

For Acne "Absolutely terrible, this pill made me depressed, angry, and anxious. I can barely sleep at night, and it's causing my cheeks to break out (I've never had acne on my cheeks...). I've also had to go to the doctor because I fainted multiple times (note: I have never ever fainted or even come close to it), along with being lightheaded, nauseous, and having no appetite whatsoever. I'm 19, and I've been on it about 3 months. Would not recommend unless you want to be a completely different person (for the worst). The one good thing is I haven't had a period since I've been on it."

For Polycystic Ovary Syndrome "I was diagnosed with PCOS 2 months ago. I tried Junel Fe before Loestrin Fe but kept throwing up every day due to nausea/morning sickness. Then my doctor switched me to Loestrin Fe. Now I only get mild nausea during the first line of the pack. My periods are normal now, they last 3 days (1.5 days of 2 placebo pills) and 1 day of the first pill of the new pack. My acne has gotten out of control though, completely filling around the chin area, but I heard it takes 4 months for your body to get used to hormonal changes. So I'm hoping with time I will see the effect. I was on Balzina last year and stopped after 8 months when my periods became normal. It cleared my face too, so I'm hoping Loestrin will do the same."

For Birth Control "I felt great on Loestrin 24 Fe during the first two months of use. My periods were just tiny bits of spotting, and my acne cleared up entirely. During my third pack of pills, I had pregnancy symptoms during the second week of use that scared me: vivid dreams, bad nausea without vomiting, sensitivity to smells, heavy appetite, moodiness, and most distinct was the pain of breast tenderness. I had been pregnant before, so I was familiar with the feeling. Multiple pregnancy tests, including a blood test at the doctor's, eventually ruled out pregnancy. I was so stressed by the symptoms, but they turned out to be caused by the pill."

"Took this pill for 1.) Acne and 2.) Birth Control. I have had a side effect that very few people had, which was hair loss on the scalp. Big amounts of hair would come out when I would shower. I realized this happened to me with a previous birth control as well, but want to note for others as a precaution. I got extremely bloated on this medication. I have a flat tummy, and it looked like I was pregnant, which was painful and annoying. This also gave me a very backed-up system, which I never get. I got extremely nauseous, very moody, heartburn, anxiety, and some depression. The only pro was that my breasts grew a cup size. Can't complain about that! I've been off of this pill for three days, and all of these symptoms are gone."

For Menstrual Disorders "I'm 22. Been on this for 3 months. They put me on it for heavy periods and horrible cramps. I have gained 10 lbs, had nausea, horrible pelvic pain, had no periods, and bad mood swings. I do not recommend."

For Birth Control "I was on Loestrin 24 for about 3 years. I switched because I could no longer get the coupon, and it was too expensive. Initially, I noticed some stomach pain, but I have endometriosis, which could have caused that. My periods were non-existent after the first year. I went the entire year without a period. I did not have mood swings until I switched to Loestrin 10. Over the past few years, I have had consistent weight gain without changing my diet or exercise routine. I am not sure if that is due to the medication or an underlying problem. I did not notice any breast tenderness/swelling until I switched to Loestrin 10 either. I have now switched to Generess and am on my 4th day: extreme nausea. I may just pay the $50 for Loestrin 24 every month."

For Endometriosis "I have stage 4 endometriosis. I have been taking Loestrin 26 for one month. I am miserable. Bleeding almost every day, weight gain, swelling over my entire body, terrible nausea and diarrhea, and unmanageable exhaustion. I am a physician and trying to avoid a second excision surgery and the terrible periods with adenomyosis, but these side effects make me feel worse than before. I can barely function except for work. I skipped the placebo pills, and to no avail, I am still bleeding. Time to call the surgeon's office. So disappointed with this drug."

For Birth Control "I have tried many different kinds of birth control pills during my search to find the right one. This one wasn't the right one for me. I constantly felt nauseous and developed urinary tract infections and yeast infections, strange discharges and odors. I didn't have those problems on the other pills. Also, I would experience randomly on this pill the loss of my sex drive. For the people who know me, that's nothing like me. That side effect scared me and was the last straw that pushed me to switch."

For Birth Control "I was on Loestrin for about 3 years before switching to its generic equivalent, Mylan. After about 5 years of being on this brand, I started getting really bad symptoms (nausea, cold sweats, dropped body temperature, migraine), so I decided to quit birth control altogether (was on it about 10 years). Within 2 months, I gained 10 pounds, particularly in the midsection. At first, I didn't connect the dots and started a straight vegetarian meal prep diet and worked out 4-6 times a week. My weight steadily kept going up until I gained about 30 lbs in 6 months, again mostly in my belly. I read up that this is a common side effect of quitting birth control, particularly with the Loestrin/Mylan 24 Fe brand. It's been over a year and still no end in sight."

"I've been on Loestrin for only four days, and I'm okay with it so far. The first day I had cramps, a headache, nausea, and extreme fatigue. After that, on days 2 and 3, I just felt nauseated and not as bad fatigue. Day 4, the same as days 2 and 3. I'm hoping the nausea and fatigue will wear off, and the pill does its job. I realize it will take up to 3 months for these side effects to cease."

For Birth Control "Going on my 4th month now, and the nausea is absolutely ridiculous. I didn't experience this being pregnant, with any of my kids. I didn't want to eat yesterday or today. Weight loss isn't so bad, but I like food. For being in shape, person height and weight-wise, I didn't expect problems, but here we are, ready to hurl for two days straight now."

For Birth Control "I'm 19, and I have been taking Loestrin 24 for almost a month. My periods used to be moderately heavy, with a lot of cramping, and would last at least 7 days. I started my period on a Friday and started taking the pill the next Sunday. My period stopped before the end of the next day. I have experienced a little nausea. One day, my stomach hurt so bad I thought I was going to puke. It has also made me more depressed and moody. Another complaint I have is the time between my periods. It used to be so regular, 28 days every time. I just started my period after only 24 days. I am not happy about this at all, it ruined my vacation. Other than this, no other side effects. No acne, weight gain, or anything else I've noticed."

For Birth Control "I was on this pill for two years, and everything was awesome! My acne did worsen significantly, but my dermatologist fixed me right up. Nauseous the first month on the pill. I used to have extremely heavy periods, and this pill made my period completely vanish! If there ever was a period, it was only there when I wiped, so it was very light. Unfortunately, I recently had to switch pills, for some reason, it made me bleed for two months straight. Most importantly, there were no pregnancies!"

For Menstrual Disorders "I'm on my 2nd month of taking Loestrin 24. I went to my doctor 2 months ago because I had not had a period during the 5 months prior to the visit. She prescribed to me, from what I can recall, oxyprogesterone, she told me it should start my period within 2-3 days. It didn't come until 2 weeks later, so then I finally started taking Loestrin 24. That whole first month, I bled. Some days, it was just average bleeding, some light, and just a handful of days, bad cramping and heavy. Now being on my 2nd month of this pill, I'm on the 3rd week row of the pill pack, and I'm already starting my period early. The only side effects I've noticed from taking this pill are my breasts have grown half a cup size, no nausea or weight gain so far."

"I am almost done with my first pack of these pills. My nausea and fatigue have disappeared! I feel like I have more energy, and the PMS I experience about a week before my period isn't there. I will be getting my period early next week. Hope they are a lot better than normal. I recommend this pill to anyone and everyone!"

For Birth Control "I've been taking Loestrin 24 Fe for about 3 months now. I tend to have occasional nausea, but nothing that's too bad. My sex drive has gone up by a lot to the point where I feel like I'm on Viagra 24/7. I lost about 5-10 lbs since the pills make me not want to eat at all (I have to force myself to eat since I could literally go days without eating now). I do have a lot of abnormal spotting and bleeding, but it could just be because I just started taking them. I did notice, though, that the pills make me feel a lot more anxiety and depression, but the sex drive and sex makes it go away. Overall, this pill seems to work for me, but I might be thinking of switching to a stronger pill!"

"As a first-time user of birth control, I did a lot of research after being prescribed Loestrin 24 Fe. I honestly got very scared after reading so many negative reviews that I almost didn't take it. But I did, and I am very pleased with my experience. I am 27, and one of the main factors for me choosing birth control was that I began working out a lot and started having a period two times a month, which I hated. I take my pill at 10 PM each night and have never had any nausea, weight gain, pimples, or negative side effects. I am an emotional person, so honestly, I can't give feedback on if it has affected my emotions. Regardless, I have not experienced any extreme changes in myself. I'm on pack 2, and I love having a shorter period. I recommend this birth control."

For Polycystic Ovary Syndrome "I just recently was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, and my doctor put me on Loestrin 23 Fe. The first month was fine, just a little tenderness of my breast, but the second month was terrible. I have horrible acne, mood swings all the time, I have terrible cramps, headaches, and I always feel nauseous. I will be going on a new pill as soon as possible."

For Birth Control "I've been on this Loestrin 24 Fe pill for about 3 months now, and all I have to say is I love that I don't get my periods as heavy anymore. I haven't noticed any changes in my acne, it's still as bad as before, yet if anything, it only makes me break out on my jawline. I guess you can say the only thing I'm scared about is having unprotected sex. The only side effects I've noticed are extreme nausea, I can't sleep, and I've been excessively eating. This only happened around the 1st month, the only thing that has continued is the nausea. This is my first time on birth control, and my experience is okay."

For Birth Control "I have read a majority of the comments about Loestrin 24 Fe, and they were not good. But I can tell you from my experience, I LOVE IT! I do not get crazy mood swings, nausea, and I did not gain weight. It really helped with my acne. My face is so clear now. I have been on it since August of this year. But so far, so good. I have no complaints. I do have my period, but it is very light. Come next year July, however, I will stop using the pill. Only because I plan on getting married and would really want to have children. I don't want my body to get too used to it. But overall, I love this pill."

For Menstrual Disorders "I've been on Loestrin 24 for around 5 months, and I am overall very happy with it. I am 16 and sexually active. The first three months were bad in terms of side effects: lots of nausea, acne, spotting, and cramping. But from the get-go, I went from heavy, long periods to very short light periods. For the past two months, I have had just spotting for around 3 days, not exactly in correspondence with my brown pills but close enough. I no longer get bloated on my period, I do still have acne around my time of the month, but that can be attributed to my negligence of going to the dermatologist in half a year. It worries me that some people get no period at all because pregnancy scares are definitely not my favorite. But now I feel safe and satisfied."
