For Birth Control "I've had many problems in the past with keeping my hormone levels normal. After switching to this pill, my levels have evened out. However, I have noticed that when I do have my cycle (which is rare), I become extremely nauseated and feel absolutely sick. Everyone reacts differently, but if you're going to try this pill, just know if you're like me, there's a possibility of a lot of debilitating nausea and chances of fever."

For Acne "It was horrible. Hated my life while taking it. Never had bad acne before until this. During the second week of taking Loestrin, I got really bad and painful cystic acne. It wasn't just on my face, it was all over my body. It got to a point where I didn't feel like walking out of my house because of it. Mind you, this happened over the course of only 2 weeks. I also felt super depressed and moody, nauseous. I didn't feel like myself. It helped my cramps, but it was definitely not worth it. Switching to another BC. I was hopeful everything would be fine, but it turned out to be a hellish experience. Would not recommend to anyone, for sure."

For Birth Control "I started taking Loestrin 24 Fe after taking Tri-Sprintec for 4 months and experiencing depression and mood swings. I just finished my 3rd pack of Loestrin 24 Fe, and I did not get a period each of the 3 months. I took a pregnancy test, which was negative. Reading these other reviews makes me feel at ease that this is not unusual with this pill, but I am still planning on calling my Dr. I felt like I had all the physical signs of getting a period each month, but nothing at all. Other than no period, I only had sore breasts at the start of pack 3, but that went away in 2 weeks. I do experience nausea, but I get that with every pill I have tried so far. Not sure if I like a pill where I don't get a period."

For Birth Control "I spotted for a few weeks at first, but it never happened again. I had short, 2 or 3-day periods, only minor cramps, no nausea-a huge one for me because I have a sensitive stomach, no moodiness, no weight gain. It was almost like not being on the pill at all, except that I immediately noticed that my generally clear skin was breaking out like crazy with really painful cystic acne. I assumed it was just an initial breakout and tried to wait it out, but I just recently quit after 4 months because I couldn't handle the horrible acne. I did a lot of research and its progesterone is very androgenic and is known to cause acne. It's a shame because otherwise, it was perfect. Because that was my only side effect, I'd still recommend it though."

For Birth Control "I'm 20 years old, and this is my first birth control pill. I've been on Loestrin 24 Fe for about a month and a half now. I absolutely love it. I did not have any nausea or headaches whatsoever. I haven't gained any weight, as a matter of fact, I lost weight while on this pill. I lost about 6 lbs! My acne is almost gone, and I had terrible acne. Also, my sex drive has stayed the same. I know many women are worried about that. The only negative was during the second week of taking the pill, I was bleeding for a week and a half. It was light, but it was still annoying to deal with. But when my actual period came, it was on time and only lasted about 3 days. Overall, I love this pill, and I would like to stick with it."

For Birth Control "I took this medicine for about 9 months for perimenopausal symptoms and birth control since I am still fertile in my late 40s. This took about 3 months to acclimate to. Had the mood swings, nausea, and headaches in the first couple of months. Then it worked quite well and actually improved my sleep, which wasn't doing so well pre-birth control. However, the biggest factor making me discontinue use of this drug was a big raise in my blood pressure! I am a non-smoker and a bit overweight but have always had very low blood pressure. After 8-9 months on this, my blood pressure was high. I've been off this for a few weeks, and the top reading on my blood pressure has dropped into the 140s from the 160s I was peaking at. Still, I've always had around 110 or so before taking Loestrin 24."

For Birth Control "I've tried many birth controls over the years, and this one has had some crazy side effects. I now sunburn. I thought it was just me until I looked it up and realized birth control can make your skin sensitive to sunlight. I also get extremely nauseous now. Car rides and roller coasters, even standing up too fast, make me want to puke. I haven't gained weight, but I can't lose it either no matter how hard I try. And lastly, I am always anxious. I worry about every single little thing. I can hardly sleep sometimes because I worry about going to work in the morning or needing to do laundry. I'm so anxious, I can hardly be around my friends, colleagues, and family. My entire personality has changed since starting this birth control."

For Birth Control "I have been using Loestrin for about 5 months now. The first 3 months, I would get a bit of nausea and cramps, but the doctor said to keep taking it for three months because it is supposed to resemble pregnancy! I was fine after the 3 months. I haven't had too many problems with it for the past 2 months. This month, I have been having really bad stomach aches and cramps. I'm not sure if it is the pill or something else?"

For Birth Control "I have been taking Loestrin for 14 days now. This is my first pill, so I was very concerned with side effects when I started. The first three days weren't too bad except for some light nausea. The fourth night was absolutely terrible, it made me feel like I had the flu, the nausea was so bad. After that night, I've only experienced occasional light to moderate nausea. Mood swings here and there as well. Overall, feeling pretty good. I have not noticed an increase in weight, cup size, or skin quality."

For Birth Control "I love this pill. I've been on Loestrin for about 4 months now, and it's worked fantastically for me. The first couple of weeks or so, I had some significant nausea and bloating. I also had some spotting for the first couple of months, but now everything is fine! My periods only last about 3-4 days, and they're very light, I love it. I also had pretty bad mood swings, but nothing I couldn't sort out. On the plus side, my breasts grew a cup size, and I think my sex drive has actually increased! I would definitely recommend it."

For Birth Control "In all honesty, this pill is the answer. I love everything about it. I have been on it for three months now, and I have had no symptoms whatsoever. There has been no weight gain, and it has only slightly changed the size of my breasts. I have had no mood swings or nausea. In the three months I have been on it, I take it every morning at 6, and it works great. The package that it comes in is perfect, it is small, easy to read, and comes with a tiny discrete black cloth pocket to hold the pack in. Perfect to throw in your purse if you are spending the night somewhere else. As well, I have had no period, which was scary in the beginning, but my doctor assured me everything was fine and normal. I HIGHLY recommend this pill."

For Birth Control "I have been on this pill since June, I would have started the pill in May, but my period was a month late. Before the pill, I experienced heavy bleeding, paralyzing cramps, and occasionally vomiting. Since I've been on the pill, I have 3-4 day periods with little or no bleeding. The cramping has subsided greatly. I take the pill at night because it makes me feel sick to the stomach, but I don't mind because this pill has done more good than harm for me."

For Birth Control "I've only been on Loestrin for 2 days. The first day I had a terrible headache and had to call out of work due to stomach pain and lethargy [although I often feel stomach pain when I have a heavy period]. Last night I woke up at 2 a.m. in severe pain - I felt extremely nauseous, felt as if I needed to vomit and cry, but I could not cry. I felt extremely nervous and sick. I'm not even going to bother taking my third pill tonight. I've taken Yazmin and Ortho Tri before, and I never experienced such physical side effects. I'm going to call my doctor in the morning."

For Birth Control "I've been on the pill for 3 months now, I have experienced extreme nausea, bloating, mood swings, and even crazy cravings! I thought I was pregnant! But after reading these reviews, I feel better about the pill. Not only that, but everything's straightening out, so I'm happy. I am also getting curves, which I like very much! It's a great pill."

For Menstrual Disorders "I am almost on my second pack, and I have had 3 periods in the time I have been taking this. I'm constantly nauseated and feel the need to throw up and have painful cramps the first day of each period."

For Birth Control "Since being diagnosed with epilepsy, I was put on pills to prevent seizures, which did not help until I was also put on Loestrin 24 Fe. So far, no seizures. I believe it's related to a hormonal imbalance, and the birth control definitely helps. I have not had any bad symptoms at all. No nausea, no mood swings. I have tried every single birth control I could think of, and this is the only one I like by far. I plan to stay on it for another 6-12 months and try for baby #3."

For Birth Control "The first two weeks I did have heavy spotting and slight nausea, which went away before the first month was over. It cleared my face from acne, I didn't have much to begin with. And I gained no weight at all and no bloating. I honestly love this birth control. I asked my doctor for a low hormone pill, and this is what he prescribed. I'm very happy with it, I will not be switching any time soon. I plan on keeping it for sure!"

"Take it with food in your stomach and at night! It helps the nausea, and you sleep through side effects! When I do not have food in my stomach, I get nauseous, but it's not super bad! I have just finished my first month, and no noticeable weight gain or anything I hate about it. No lowered sex drive and nothing that I really hate about it! At first, my period got heavier, and I spotted for what seemed like forever; but it wasn't a big deal! So far, I like it; it's expensive, but as of now, it's worth it. Little breakout on chin, but it's clearing up fine! I wanted to tell everyone because there are so many bad reviews. I take it at 9 pm, a couple of hours after dinner, a couple of hours before bed. I recommend this to anyone."

For Birth Control "This has been one of the best birth control pills I have ever taken. I have a little breakthrough bleeding from time to time, but it is usually because I have taken the pill earlier in the day than normal or vice versa. When I take this pill around the same time every day, I do not have any breakthrough bleeding. Periods are light and average 3 days. My periods used to last 7 to 8 days and were very heavy. Bleeding is only heavy on day one. Some months I do not have a period. I did not have any issues with nausea or headaches. I did gain about 5 pounds. Cramps are minimal."

For Birth Control "This is the worst I've felt in my life. I have severe anxiety and nervousness, shaking, chest tightness, nausea. I feel so sad at points in the day, my skin is breaking out terribly, my body looks swollen, my throat feels like it is going to close up when I have panic attacks from this stuff. The worst of it is when I ovulate, and then I go through cycles of being really tired and feeling dizzy."

For Birth Control "I'm 29 and haven't taken birth control for 3 years. I just finished my first pack and seemed to have been hit by EVERY side effect it has. I have cramps and nausea every day, overly emotional, respiratory problems while lying down, weight gain, and bloating. The last pill before my period, which was taken two days ago, gave me a couple of pimples and a yeast infection. I'm asking my gynecologist for something else and hope for less/no side effects."

For Birth Control "I got on Loestrin 24 FE for birth control and to help me with my acne. I have been on this pill for 4 months and do not like it. I switched to this pill from Yaz because it is a lower dose, and I would sometimes get sick on Yaz. I was hoping this pill would give me fewer side effects, but it didn't turn out that way. My mood swings are horrible, and I feel like a crazy, depressed person on this pill. My boyfriend has noticed how crazy I can get, especially right before my period. On Yaz, my PMS was barely noticeable, let alone mood swings. I have found myself needing to control situations and getting anxious and sad for no reason. My periods did not turn out to be lighter either. They are horrible on this pill, with bad cramps and nausea."

For Birth Control "I took Loestrin for about 2 months total, and it was a horrible experience. The first month was fine. The second month, things started to get worse. I was extremely nauseous and fatigued and didn't feel like myself. I started having several stomach problems after starting the second month (gastritis, irritable bowel). I also developed ovarian cysts, which I never had before. I developed a kidney stone as well, but that was a preexisting condition, maybe it was just coincidental? All of this happened within about 6 weeks, which made my life hell. I tried to make myself continue taking Loestrin and couldn't do it. Apparently, it just wasn't for me. I know they say you should stick out the first couple of months, but it wasn't worth it to me."

For Birth Control "I heard a lot of horror stories about this medicine, but, though I realize I'm only on my second pack, I'm happy to say the side effects are bearable. The first month I was really nauseous a lot, and I spotted blood every single day for a month. That, admittedly, was annoying. But it's better than a lot of what I was hearing. Aside from maybe being a tiny bit more prone to crying, I've not had mood swings, anxiety, depression, or unreasonable anger. I haven't gained tremendous weight, though my breasts have gotten HUGE. Husband isn't complaining. They're still sore often, but nothing terrible. Overall, I'd recommend it. I still don't totally trust birth control pills, but this one is bearable."

For Birth Control "Only took it for 14 days before side effects caused me to discontinue. Started having horrible headaches, insomnia, some night sweats, nervousness, gas, nausea, diarrhea. Never had this cluster of problems simultaneously until I began this medication 2 weeks ago. I don't plan on using any other hormone for birth control."
