For Menstrual Disorders "Loestrin is VERY effective as a contraceptive. However, I am on the pill because of irregular and painful periods. The pill is good, but what bothers me is that my monthly cycle, though tolerable, is COMPLETELY UNPREDICTABLE. The first few months I had a period, short and light. Then my period disappeared, and I thought I was pregnant. My doctor told me this is normal with this pill. After two or three months of no period, it came back preceded by cramping and severe nausea -- I thought I was pregnant AGAIN! The number of days between periods is not consistent. This cycle, I was exhausted, nauseous, and moody a week and a half before the bleeding began. Now I am having nausea, though physical symptoms usually disappear a day or two after bleeding."

For Acne "I have taken Lo Loestrin 24 for about 2 months now. I have had migraines, nausea, and fatigue nonstop. I only had one very light period since I started this pill. I have had horrible face and body acne since I started Loestrin, I feel 16 again! I have had a significant appetite increase and midsection bloating. However, I will continue with it one more month and see if my symptoms clear up."

For Birth Control "Give the pill a chance. After taking it for a week, or even a few months, you simply cannot judge how it will affect you. I have been on this pill for about a year, and at first, I hated it. It made me nauseous, my boobs hurt, and all that, but after a while, that disappeared. Only a few things have remained annoying about this medicine, like irritability, cramps, and tiredness while menstruating, but isn't that what happens anyway? I have had no weight change, no headaches, no pimples, no change in sex drive, and nothing else! Plus, the most important thing is that I have not gotten pregnant. 9/10"

For Endometriosis "I've been on Loestrin 24 Fe for two years now. I have a moderate case of endometriosis, and this has been fantastic. The first two, maybe three months on it were a little iffy, I experienced nausea and emotional problems, but significantly less pain. Everything's been peachy ever since. I only need to take one or two Midols to get through each period."

For Birth Control "After only taking this medicine for 9 days, I've already decided to discontinue use. My side effects are as follows: 1. Mood swings/depression/anxiety: none of these were present before I began taking the pill. I cry for no reason and have a constant feeling of deep, deep worry. I have begun questioning everyone's motives and feel hopeless. 2. Constant sleeping: before the pill, I would have to force myself to go to bed by 10 to be able to fall asleep by 11. I am exhausted by 8 pm now and generally crash by 9. 3. Cramps: stabbing pains, like with a period. 4. Breast tenderness. 5. Pain during intercourse. 6. Acne. 7. Severe nausea. I am stopping this now and getting my life back."

For Endometriosis "I have horrible pain during my periods due to endometriosis, and I've tried many other drugs to help control it. In August of 2011, I had the laparoscopic surgery to remove some of the endometriosis, this surgery did not help me one bit. So my doctor put me on Loestrin just recently (Feb. 2012), and the first few days the only side effect I had was nausea and some slight stomach cramping. About 2 weeks into it, I started bleeding - not spotting - not as heavy as a period, I'd say it was a good mix. Now I'm having constant cramps, they're pretty intense. They feel somewhat like my pre-period cramps, which are terrible due to the endo. I'm just waiting for my period to come and hoping it will be better. But so far, the side effects have not been worth it."

For Acne "I started Loestrin 24 a few months ago and was nervous about some side effects I've always heard of from the pill. I was nauseous for only the 1st week, and only got my period for 2 days and had zero cramps even though I used to have to take 3 Advil for the 1st 3 days of my period. No weight gain, only in my breasts (grew a cup size). However, this pill made me break out horribly. I've always broken out a little before my period, but while on this I got multiple huge cysts on my chin and under my nose before my period and my cheeks, which have never broken out before, were breaking out as well. Really no side effects, but the acne was enough to make me go off of it."

For Menstrual Disorders "I was on Loestrin for a year. At first, it was great. Then my period stopped completely, except for spotting all month long. It constantly made me feel pregnant. My breasts would hurt, I'd feel nauseous often, and the fact that I wasn't getting a period gave me great anxiety. Furthermore, I was experiencing anxiety regularly and developed a sort of hypochondria-where I thought I was sick constantly. I think it was because my hormones were so out of whack. I am now on a higher hormone pill and don't have anxiety issues anymore. I really think this pill was my issue."

For Menstrual Disorders "This pill has been giving me the blues. Since starting, I've had constant yeast infections and BV. Increased hunger, nausea, and severe bloating. The only thing it does efficiently is prevent pregnancy, and by the way, I haven't seen my period in 3 months. Feeling terrible."

For Birth Control "I’m on the generic version of this pill, and it’s the worst thing ever and have been for four months now. I am constantly anxious, depressed, nauseous, and moody. Not to mention, I had two yeast infections in this time period from the pill. I’ve never had a yeast infection before. I am constantly dry down there, and my boobs are always sore. I didn’t gain weight, but I did lose a lot of hair. This pill is supposed to let me have sex and prevent pregnancy, when since being on this pill it’s made sex miserable and painful to where I don’t even have sex anymore. Lube doesn’t even make it better."

For Menstrual Disorders "Before I buy a product, I research it. Unfortunately, when it came to looking for a birth control, the majority of the reviews for ones ranging from Yaz to Ortho Tri-Cyclen were negative, so I threw all caution to the wind and allowed my doc to fill a script for Loestrin 24 Fe. Ladies, prior to taking this pill, my periods ranged from 4-6 days and were very irregular with heavy bleeding (one time I bled through my jeans in class, ultra embarrassing). In addition, my symptoms consisted of diarrhea, nausea, lethargy, and severe cramps, which kept me in bed. The first 3 months taking Loestrin were difficult (spotting/mild cramps), but now I've been on it 5 years, and I haven't seen a sign of my old symptoms. Plus, my periods are light and short. I recommend."

For Menstrual Disorders "I have been on Loestrin 24 for about 6 months now and am quite satisfied! In the beginning, I did experience some nausea for about the first month, but once I got over that hurdle, everything has gone well. No bloating, no nausea, no mood swings, and most importantly, a very short cycle! My cycle has always been irregular, having about one a year. So, with me getting older, my doctor said it would be best for my health to try and regulate my cycle. Well, it worked! If I must have a cycle each month (after not having to for the past 20 years), it's nice to have one only for a few days and without any PMS symptoms!"

For Polycystic Ovary Syndrome "I have been on this pill for 2 months. Cons: I am sick to my stomach every day, I throw up at least once a week and pee like every 10 mins. I also get headaches towards the end of the day. So I started taking my second pack before I go to sleep to avoid these symptoms, no such luck. Pros: barely had a period last month, waiting to see this month. I will stick it out for another month, but if nothing changes, I'm changing it. So far, I'm very disappointed, I was so excited for this pill."

For Birth Control "I love this birth control. My period used to be very heavy, and it would last for at least a week of every month. I would be nauseous for at least two days, have cramps so badly I had to stay home some days, and my PMS and mood swings were terrible. YUCK! I started Loestrin 24 because I heard it could help shorten my period. I have been on it for two years, and over time my period shortened until it never lasts more than four days, and it lightened up enough I didn't have to limit my activities any longer because of my need to have a bathroom in close range for days on end. It helped clear up my acne, never caused weight gain, stopped my cramps, and I don't get nearly as moody. I did start craving chocolate like you wouldn't believe though."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I'm new to this medication. I notice my fluttering and pounding heart wakes me up. I'm slightly dizzy even when sitting still or lying down. A few days I've had terrible heartburn, some nausea so strong that I took Nauzene and Tums with some relief, icepick stabbing headache, headache around my temples that's not relieved by relaxation or aspirin or drinking a lot of water and is relieved somewhat with Aleve, tinnitus, trouble staying asleep even though I keep my normal schedule and use my normal melatonin. I've been kind of sleepy, maybe due to waking up with the other issues. These symptoms are all uncommon for me and obviously caused by the pills. On the positive side, I seem to be less moody and anxious than I was getting before."

For Birth Control "I love this! This is my first form of birth control, and I have only been on it for about two and a half weeks, but I have to say that, so far, it's great. I usually get terrible cramps, pains, nausea, etc. on my period; when I started using this on the first day of my period this month, it all went away. This was my first time NOT throwing up during my period, and I stopped getting those terrible cramps. Even my bloating went away. Plus, for some reason, since I started using this b.c., my occasional pimples have disappeared and stopped showing up. It's all really great, and I feel so much better after taking this!! The only problem (though it's really not a big deal) is that I may have put on a pound since I started using it."

"I've been on this for about a year or so. I didn't like it at first, I got nauseous and couldn't eat and got terrible headaches. Now everything is fine. No weight gain, my breasts may have gotten a 1/2 cup bigger. No effect on my sex drive. No pregnancies, so it gets the job done!"

For Endometriosis "I have been taking this medication since December 14th, 2011, for endometriosis that I was diagnosed with on December 7th, 2011. After the first couple of days, the nausea started, so I started taking it at night. That was a little better at first. Then my legs started having severe restlessness and pain... It was so bad a couple of times that I almost had to go to the ER. I am now just feeling generally ill. I stopped taking it 2 days ago. Also, I had a tubal and endometrial ablation in 2009, so I'm not taking it for periods or pregnancy."

For Birth Control "I'm into my second pack and am not pregnant (which is good), but I'm very nauseous, queasy, dizzy, and lightheaded. Also, I'm experiencing anxiety and nervousness. I think if these symptoms continue after pack 3, I'll need to switch."

For Birth Control "I have been on Loestrin 24 for 10 months now, and my periods haven't been longer than 3 days. The third month, my period was really heavy, and I had bad cramps. As far as birth control, I haven't been having sex, and I never had bad acne to begin with. Overall, I've had a moderate experience. I take the pill in the morning, and it does make me nauseous. I also am very depressed on it and experience crazy mood swings. I spend at least one day out of the month crying, and the littlest thing will ruin my mood or make me want to cry. My mom and sister talk about how I have multiple personalities because my mood is so unpredictable."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I am on my second pack, week 1. I am on Loestrin 24 Fe for metrorrhagia or spotting between periods and 2 ovarian cysts. Well, so far I think the cysts are already gone, and I have not experienced any more spotting-HOORAY! I take the pill every day at 5 p.m. I have no nausea and have lost five pounds. This is amazing because I thought I was going to gain. I noticed a tiny... I do mean tiny edginess, but nothing compared to the patch when I took it for birth control long ago. I am amazed and very satisfied. Let's hope the pill cures the cysts completely when I get the ultrasound and the spotting ceases for good."

For Birth Control "The reason I got on this prescription was because 1. I don't want to get pregnant and 2. My periods last for 7-8 days, cramps are unbearable, and there are times that it's heavy. It's annoying, and there are times I can't even sleep. Now, I've only been on the pill for 7 days. Before I even take the pill, I'm good-no mood swings, I don't feel nausea, nothing at all. After I take the pill, like 5 hours later, I start feeling nausea, moody, I just want to go to bed and sleep. What I've been reading here seems good. I hope this side effect ends soon because I really don't like the feeling, but I will keep you guys updated on how it's working with my body. Wish me luck."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I have been on this pill, which is my first birth control pill ever. I am 34, and the first month I took the pill, I had some nausea, which seemed to be on a timed schedule. I started the first pack on a Sunday and did not take the placebo pills at all. I just kept taking the active pills, and the next month I did not have a period, but by the second row of pack two, I started spotting. Now that I am on pack three, I have been bleeding for an entire month. I will take the placebo pills at the end of pack three because I think my results are my own fault. I just thought if I kept taking active pills, I would not bleed at all. For the most part, I have no issues that were not caused by my own actions, I have lost two dress sizes."

For Birth Control "I am 28 years old, 125 lbs, extremely active with dance, gym, and sports. I take the pill at just about the same time every day, give or take 15 minutes. I have a pretty healthy diet. I started Loestrin to prevent pregnancy. I've been on it for 3 weeks and for the most part, happy so far. Here are my symptoms: Week 1 --> Severe bloating, daily nausea. 5 lb weight gain, but I'm thinking that was due to not being able to work out due to feeling dizzy. Week 2 --> Bloating gone. Nausea gone. Feeling back to normal. Some mild spotting for a day. Increased a cup size. Skin looks great and feels smoother. Week 3 --> Feel perfectly normal. Lost the weight I gained the 1st week."
