For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "This birth control is awesome as far as its effectiveness with preventing unplanned pregnancy and increasing your bra cup size! The only drawback I would say is that the pill had me bleeding constantly. It wasn't light spot bleeding but full cycle bleeding maybe 80% of the time for the first 2 months on the pill. Other than the bleeding, the pill is great with no other side effects."

For Polycystic Ovary Syndrome "I just wanted to say that I love this birth control. Besides helping me with my cysts, it has given zero side effects. I tried Yaz before this one, and I felt like a monster! It gave me horrible mood swings, migraines, and I gained weight! Will never get off this Loestrin Fe 24. Remember that everyone's body reacts differently to the hormones in these contraceptives! Try it out before you decide on one, if you get a side effect, move on to a new one! Oh, and one thing, with this pill, I had breakthrough bleeding the first month only, and you MUST be very specific with the timing with this pill, and I get my period for 2 days only (which is also a plus)."

For Birth Control "Honestly, I read all these comments about how this birth control would make me depressed, gain weight, have horrible mood swings, etc., but I've been taking it for almost 2 months now, and I've had none of these side effects. I really don't see a problem with this oral contraceptive, but yet again we are all different and react differently to medications. My personal experience has been that I did notice breakthrough bleeding within the 2 weeks on the pill, but it only lasted 3 days, and it was very light. I have also read about people not getting their period, but I have gotten mine right on schedule, and it has been very light and basically just spotting. I originally started this pill to lighten my period and cramps, and it has been very effective."

For Birth Control "Hands down, the best birth control I've ever tried. I've been on it all this year, and I have had zero side effects. No bloating, moodiness, breakthrough bleeding, etc. I take it at the same time every day, as it's recommended to do so. I just spot 2-3 days at the end of my cycle. The best part is that it's pantyliner light! Extremely happy that my gyno prescribed me this pill. I've been on the pill since I was 17, I'm 23 now and have tried more than I care to remember. I intend on using Loestrin 24 Fe for years to come!"

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "So I started this pill and was excited but had to stop right in the middle of the pack. I mean, out of nowhere, there is a burst of bleeding. I went to the bathroom and it's like my period snuck up on me and it was almost 2 weeks before my period is due. There were lots of clots and brown, yucky stuff. On top of all that, my moods were really crazy. I would be lying in my bed and would feel like crying and then be okay the next moment. I have only been off now for two days 'cause I just couldn't take the crazy mood swings and the bleeding anymore. I also noticed a great deal of fatigue, and even that has changed after just 2 days off of Loestrin. It's not worth it, and I cannot wait for it to be out of my system."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "The first month was okay, but this is my second month of use, and I started bleeding (moderately) in the second week of the pill pack! No fair! I should be in the 'no bleeding zone' right now! I am less than thrilled. I feel gross, bloated, and have cramping and low back pain. I am only on the pill to keep regular, to avoid anemia, but this month it's doing just the opposite! I don't know if I should stay on it and give it more time, or go to something else. Ugh!"

For Birth Control "Well, this is the first month that I have been on Loestrin. I have not gotten any weight gain as with other methods of birth control. I also haven't had any bleeding or spotting between periods. The reason my doctor told me to start taking Loestrin was that I was on Yasmin, and that pill made me have more side effects than Loestrin. With Loestrin, my acne has not broken out, it actually helped me with that. This is my last week for my first pack, and I feel really good with it. Maybe the reason why everyone else is having problems with the pill is because they may take it during the day. My doctor recommended taking it during the night, that way, you won't experience that many side effects."

For Birth Control "I started this birth control because it was low in estrogen, and all the other birth controls I have tried would make me bleed constantly. I was only 2 weeks in, and I started to bleed again, so I stopped. My issue, though, is the TERRIBLE acne this has caused me. I'm relieved to see that there are others who share the same issue. I have never had acne this severe, I am so embarrassed to show my skin. I seriously just want to hide, I feel disgusting. I've broken out so badly on my chin, back, and slightly on my chest. I went to the dermatologist to seek relief, but it's still going to take much time to heal. This has by far been the worst birth control I have ever taken. I would not recommend this."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "For the past 5 months, I have been having severe periods with extremely heavy bleeding to the point where I had to wear a pad and a tampon, and I would bleed through both in a matter of hours (overnight pad and regular strength tampon). So I went to my OB/GYN. Turns out I have a big fibroid tumor, ovarian cyst, and most likely endometriosis, which would explain why I had really bad cramps for a long time. She put me on Loestrin, and I'm literally on the fourth pill, and it has slowed down my bleeding so much. I did bleed through a little, but I was only wearing a pad because I have surgery next week, and I'm not allowed to use tampons before it. So I know this is a pretty early review, but I'm really happy so far. No cramps at all."

For Birth Control "I hated being on this birth control. I switched from the patch that was throwing my liver out of control. My doctor suggested this low-dose birth control. I thought this would be awesome. I was horribly wrong. I went from having a period once a month to bleeding heavily every 2 weeks. After about a month, I started losing a lot of hair, I called my doctor, and he said it could take a few months to normalize. I finally started having a period once a month, but I would start when I still had 8 days of active pills left. Then it went to nothing for 3 months, great, right? Then bam, 2-week heavy period, cramps for days. I noticed my skin was having more breakouts that wouldn't go away. My under-control depression went crazy. Biggest mood swings: one minute I'm happy-go-lucky, the next I'm a rage case, the next moment I'm uncontrollably sad. I finally couldn't handle it and got put on a different birth control. I know every woman is different. But this one definitely wasn't for me."

For Endometriosis "I have horrible pain during my periods due to endometriosis, and I've tried many other drugs to help control it. In August of 2011, I had the laparoscopic surgery to remove some of the endometriosis, this surgery did not help me one bit. So my doctor put me on Loestrin just recently (Feb. 2012), and the first few days the only side effect I had was nausea and some slight stomach cramping. About 2 weeks into it, I started bleeding - not spotting - not as heavy as a period, I'd say it was a good mix. Now I'm having constant cramps, they're pretty intense. They feel somewhat like my pre-period cramps, which are terrible due to the endo. I'm just waiting for my period to come and hoping it will be better. But so far, the side effects have not been worth it."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I love this birth control pill. Before birth control pills, I would have horrible periods. Heavy bleeding, painful cramps, period would last for months, vomiting, etc. On this, I had only a 4-day period! Light bleeding and the cramps were better but still hurt. I would definitely recommend this for women to try."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I started this birth control about a month ago after bleeding non-stop for four months (have PCOS), and it stopped my bleeding immediately. However, in about the second week, I began having mild cramps and spotting brown. I missed the last pill of my third week and took it the next morning - and bam, there was the heavy bleeding again. The bleeding and clotting are awful. If the bleeding doesn't stop after I start my new pack, I think I'm going to switch. As for other side effects, none!"

For Menstrual Disorders "I am 17. I've been on Loestrin for a little over a month, and I'm taking it for painful and long periods. I really like it, actually. I suffer from chronic migraines and either Loestrin would help with them or make them worse. It definitely helped, and I am so happy! Also, I have no acne. I have experienced a slight weight gain, but nothing that diet and exercise won't fix. My sex drive has actually increased a lot, and I have not become depressed like other reviews have said. The only downside is breakthrough bleeding, which occurred after being on it for 2 weeks. I had bad cramps too, and that was the whole reason I went on this. You really have to stay on it for at least 3 months to really know how it'll affect you. Don't give up."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I have been on this pill on two separate occasions, and both times have been exactly the same, but I am still on it. The routine for this pill is: the first 3 months you gain weight, and it is impossible to get it off. In that time, don't even try, it won't happen, it's stuck there until after the three months. Then if you try, it will start to fall off again. If you don't take this pill at the same time every day, you will get some breakthrough bleeding, but nothing too crazy, just some spotting. Sometimes I think it has made me more emotional, but who knows. Sex drive is way up, really light periods. Scary sometimes, you don't know if you are pregnant, not a bad birth control."

For Birth Control "I never got pregnant taking Loestrin 24 Fe, so it was successful at doing its job, however, there were a few side effects. I actually lost weight while taking it, since that was my aim. But, it did make me very emotional and very sexually interested. Also, I spot-bled throughout the entire month. I would typically just wear a panty liner every day, kind of annoying. That's why I give it a 7/10, it was effective at doing what it was supposed to do, but it certainly did not improve the overall quality of my life."

"Well, I'm starting on day one. At one month shy of turning 44, I've been 'diagnosed' with being perimenopausal. My ob/gyn put me on this today to help with the bleeding and moodiness. I'll update here in a few weeks on how it's working!"

For Acne "Update from spookyblack: I forgot to mention the terrible nightmares I have been having. They are really messed up, and there is breakthrough bleeding. This pill has made me super tired, depressed, and has gnarly mood swings. I have been eating a lot and have gained a lot of weight. Great, just in time for summer, right? I have felt the worst about myself and my looks ever since I started this pill. Please don't do this to yourself, and not to mention the nasty acne I, and so many girls, have experienced."

"I switched from NuvaRing to Loestrin. I have been on it for 4 months. The first 3 months I had bleeding that was light to like a regular period and would last for 2 weeks. It was so frustrating and inconvenient, I almost went off it. The 4th month it is great, my period only lasted 2 days. And it has helped my skin. I recommend people that are new to it give it at least 3 months to let it get into your system and work correctly. It will be well worth it."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I had no trouble the first month, but had a very heavy period at the end of it and then had breakthrough bleeding all month (varying in quantity) for the second month. I thought I'd be all bled out after that and have a light period, but it was heavy again. That was enough for me, and I switched to Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo (which is what ended up working). No side effects other than the breakthrough bleeding, but that was enough."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I have been on this pill, which is my first birth control pill ever. I am 34, and the first month I took the pill, I had some nausea, which seemed to be on a timed schedule. I started the first pack on a Sunday and did not take the placebo pills at all. I just kept taking the active pills, and the next month I did not have a period, but by the second row of pack two, I started spotting. Now that I am on pack three, I have been bleeding for an entire month. I will take the placebo pills at the end of pack three because I think my results are my own fault. I just thought if I kept taking active pills, I would not bleed at all. For the most part, I have no issues that were not caused by my own actions, I have lost two dress sizes."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I am a 32-year-old woman, and this is the first time that I've taken birth control pills. My doctor recommended birth control pills to alleviate the pain I was experiencing and heavy bleeding associated with uterine fibroids. I am currently on the second week of the pack, and the only complaint I have at the moment is the breakthrough bleeding or spotting after my period. I've only been spotting for 5 days and hoping it will go away. I've noticed a new breakout-a pimple, but occasional acne is normal for me. Haven't noticed any weight gain, but after reading other reviews, I purchased a scale to monitor my weight. Will keep you posted as I continue to take the pill."

For Birth Control "I was on this for one month, and for that entire month, I hated it. I’ve been on different pills before-Marlissa and Apri-which both made me nauseous and moody, but Lo Loestrin was pretty bad. I was spotting for a week and a half before my period, and I even got my period two days before I finished my active pills. That had never happened before with any other birth control pills I was on. Also, the period I got was excruciating. My ovaries were rock solid, and my cramps were terrible. Plus, I was bleeding way too much for being on birth control."

For Birth Control "I've been on Lolo for a year now, and I totally love it. I've never experienced any side effects besides weight gain, which is pretty common when taking birth control, and I've also been home from school all summer. I have the lightest and shortest periods now, sometimes I don't even have one. I love having no periods, especially since I used to have terrible cramps and heavy bleeding, although it is bad for pregnancy scares. I was on Tri-Previfem before Lolo, and I absolutely really don't! I had the worst side effects, especially with the yeast infections that would never go away. Lolo was the only pill that worked for me, and it is amazing!"

For Birth Control "I was on Loestrin for about 3 months after a year on generic OrthoCyclen. Initially, it was a great switch because the last one made me extremely moody, but the new one had no emotional effects. The first two months were annoying because I was having breakthrough bleeding. By the 3rd month, I finally had a normal cycle, but after finishing the 3rd pack, I noticed a LOT of my hair was falling out! Apparently, Loestrin is a high androgen pill that can cause hair loss, and with a history of hair loss in my family, I should never have been on it in the first place. Please talk to your doctor about this side effect before starting; I've lost over 20% of my hair in the last week and it may last another year."
