For Birth Control "I was on Loestrin for about 2 years. It was the first birth control I had ever been on. I went on it for severe cramps and heavy bleeding. On Loestrin, I did not experience any period whatsoever. I was reassured that it was completely healthy and normal, which I believe to be true. I was very satisfied with the pill, except for now that I'm on a new pill to induce my period, I do not get it."

For Birth Control "I'm 20 years old, and this is my first birth control pill. I've been on Loestrin 24 Fe for about a month and a half now. I absolutely love it. I did not have any nausea or headaches whatsoever. I haven't gained any weight, as a matter of fact, I lost weight while on this pill. I lost about 6 lbs! My acne is almost gone, and I had terrible acne. Also, my sex drive has stayed the same. I know many women are worried about that. The only negative was during the second week of taking the pill, I was bleeding for a week and a half. It was light, but it was still annoying to deal with. But when my actual period came, it was on time and only lasted about 3 days. Overall, I love this pill, and I would like to stick with it."

For Birth Control "Loestrin was the first birth control I used. I've had minimal problems with my period before and was using it purely as a contraceptive. Unfortunately, I was quickly disappointed with it. My emotions were all over the map, and it didn't help that I had a period for 12 days straight. This wasn't a nice, light period like I was expecting. It was about twice as heavy as it normally is. My breakthrough bleeding was almost daily as well. I have now switched birth control (to Portia) and am very satisfied. Plus, Loestrin hurts the bank account! There is no generic alternative."

For Birth Control "What people are saying about this medication is true. I am only 2 weeks in on Loestrin 24 Fe, and my face and body are noticeably different. I'm heavier, and I also have acne on my forehead. I'm bleeding still, and I'm also still in pain. I am discounting and addressing my issues through diet and exercise."

"I'm nineteen, and this is my first time on birth control. I'm NOT having a good experience at all. I have been bleeding for fifteen days straight. I'm always dizzy and have constant headaches. I'm always depressed, and the breast tenderness is non-stop. I think I'll be coming OFF it."

For Birth Control "I have been taking birth control on and off for 10 years. For the last 5 years, I was on Yaz (which worked wonders for me, I loved Yaz), but came off of them. After a year of taking no pill, I decided to give Loestrin Fe a chance, and my body has never acted so poorly to a birth control pill. I have never experienced any of the symptoms I am about to describe on any other birth control pill. You have to take the pill on Sunday, 4 days after starting the pill, I woke up 4 consecutive nights with piercing pains in my stomach and a severe migraine. On the third day of pain, I started bleeding heavily, and 4 days later I am still bleeding, am in tremendous pain, and decided to discontinue Loestrin Fe. I literally stopped this pill 9 days into it."

For Birth Control "I used Yaz for over a year and started having breakthrough bleeding, so my doctor decided to try me on Loestrin 24 Fe. I'm on month three. The first month, my sex drive went up 200%. My period lasted 2 1/2 days - one day heavy. I was having 5 days, with 2 of those being very heavy. I couldn't believe it. The second month, my sex drive went back to normal, but my period lasted only 2 days again, with lots of cramping but only spotting. I'm hoping month three will be more normal. The doctor said it would make my period last only a day, which is awesome, but like someone else wrote, it would be nice to have an actual period so I wouldn't think I was pregnant. I never gained weight on Yaz, and I've gained a few pounds with this pill."

For Birth Control "I have been on this pill since June, I would have started the pill in May, but my period was a month late. Before the pill, I experienced heavy bleeding, paralyzing cramps, and occasionally vomiting. Since I've been on the pill, I have 3-4 day periods with little or no bleeding. The cramping has subsided greatly. I take the pill at night because it makes me feel sick to the stomach, but I don't mind because this pill has done more good than harm for me."

For Birth Control "Terrible cramps on the first day of each period, my periods were heavier than ever. I bled through 4 super plus tampons a day. I had bleeding every day of the month, not spotting, BLEEDING. Just finished my 4th month, and I'm done taking it. Made me super anxious."

"I started taking Loestrin 10 days ago on the first day of my period. My periods are very irregular, so a family friend who is an OB GYN advised me to go on this birth control and gave me the prescription. I get random cramps throughout the day even though they are only uncomfortable feeling. It's abnormal, and I am still experiencing light bleeding. My moods are not as out of whack as they usually are, and I haven't seen a difference with my appetite/weight. No nausea or stomach aches, but I have broken out a tad more than usual, but I usually do break out a little bit before my period. I'm going to keep taking it and hopefully it doesn't go downhill from here!"

For Menstrual Disorders "I'm 19 years old, and I spent a total of 8 months on this medication. The first three months were great! No symptoms, no weight gain, no period! After those perfect 3 months, I began losing large amounts of hair. In addition, I gained 15 pounds, which I am now losing easily since switching to Camila. I had terrible migraine headaches, irregular bleeding, and I forgot to say my blood pressure went from a healthy low to 140/80 in just two months. My skin was yellow. However, on the bright side, I did reach an entire cup size larger (34C to 34D), but that's most likely from the weight gain and estrogen in general."

For Birth Control "I was on Loestrin for 3 years. My experience on this pill was overall a good one. I was sexually active and never used backup, the pill kept all pregnancy scares away. Cramps stopped and stayed away for 3 years until they reappeared suddenly and were one of the reasons I switched. I had little acne and no mood swings (to my knowledge). My breasts did grow almost 2 cup sizes. The only problem I had was due to my own fault. I never took my pill with anything, and I'd take it right before I went to bed. In the morning, I would feel extremely ill. I fixed this by just taking my pill at dinner. I switched pills because all of a sudden, I started bleeding and cramping all the time and not following the pill schedule."

"I was on this pill for 4 months, and I had crazy mood swings! I was laughing one minute, crying the next. I could never make it through an entire month of these pills. I would start my period on the first or second day of the 3rd week of my pack, not just breakthrough bleeding, this would be a full period that would last 5-6 days! And I would have terrible cramps and huge clotting. Normally, I don't have cramps, and while on this, I had them every period. I finally had to have my doctor switch me to a new pill with a higher dosage."

For Birth Control "This has been one of the best birth control pills I have ever taken. I have a little breakthrough bleeding from time to time, but it is usually because I have taken the pill earlier in the day than normal or vice versa. When I take this pill around the same time every day, I do not have any breakthrough bleeding. Periods are light and average 3 days. My periods used to last 7 to 8 days and were very heavy. Bleeding is only heavy on day one. Some months I do not have a period. I did not have any issues with nausea or headaches. I did gain about 5 pounds. Cramps are minimal."

For Birth Control "Let me say that everyone's body reacts differently to the pills. In my case, it wasn't bad nor great. I've been on the pill for 9 months now. Initially, I got on the pill due to an ovarian cyst I have, and my doctor recommended I get on a birth control pill to control the size of it. The first 3 months, I had breakthrough bleeding and mild acne. 5 months into it, my body adjusted to it, and periods only lasted me 3 days. 7 months into the pill, I noticed I gained weight (mainly all in the belly area, I gained 14 lbs). I didn't change my eating habits and kept active (cardio). I thought maybe it's me, so I decided to tweak my eating habits a bit. After a month, my weight didn't change! After this pack, I'm switching."

For Birth Control "I started taking this pill on a Sunday, by Tuesday, I was bleeding heavily, and it was constant. I continued to bleed for 3 straight weeks, and I finally had enough, so I stopped taking it. I had terrible cramps on this pill."

For Birth Control "I started Loestrin 24 as my first birth control pill. I started it the third day of my period, as my doctor instructed, and my period lasted four days longer than normal. My bleeding stopped, then for four days, and then started again and lasted for two months! My gynecologist says that sometimes birth control takes 2-3 months to even out. Well, the first month, I had breakthrough bleeding on and off and had several days in a row with little to no bleeding. The second month, I bled for four solid weeks. I had no sex drive, some cramping in between periods, and I felt very depressed and insecure. This was not the pill for me."

For Birth Control "Overall, the reason that I am switching from Loestrin 24 Fe is because my body needs different levels of progestin (lower) and estrogen (higher). This was the first birth control pill that I had ever taken, and I had many problems with irregular bleeding (which in turn led to severe anemia). Other minor side effects were some mood swings the first month, and I did gain weight in my breasts during the 3 months I was on Loestrin. I didn't have any problems with nausea outside the first week, which maybe could be attributed to other factors. It was also very expensive ($87.00/mo with no insurance). I would recommend this medication for some women, but it may not work for everyone."

For Birth Control "For the first couple of months, I really liked Loestrin, but between the mid-cycle bleeding, being overly emotional, and the bloating, I am done. I have been on this pill for 9 months, following the birth of my son. Over the last 2 months, the bloating has gotten so bad that I had to buy larger pants! I almost look pregnant again. Yes, I had lighter periods, and my skin is clearer, but the rest is just not worth it."

For Birth Control "I am finishing my second month of Loestrin and like it overall. I was on Lo Loestrin for 2 months, and it was not working out (breakthrough bleeding, cramping, bloating), so my doctor switched me to this pill. I still have had breakthrough bleeding (more like just spotting) for the last two weeks of every month, but the 'period' at the end is practically nonexistent, with no cramps, which is great. I have noticed a bit of water retention, but nothing green tea and extra water can't solve. I've also had some occasional nausea, but nothing too bad, and it passes quickly. And I've gained 1/2 a cup size. Overall, I'll stick with this pill and hope the spotting goes away in the next few months because that's my only real complaint."

For Birth Control "I have been on 5 birth control pills in the past 6 years, and Loestrin 24 is by far the best. I was taking Loestrin, but a different dosage and liked it. I switched to Yaz because it was cheaper. I already didn't like Yaz, and that's when my insurance company switched me to the generic Ocella... horrible life decision. I had horrible mood swings and pretty much had no control over my anger. My boyfriend and I both recognized that there was a major problem and went back to my doctor, who was able to put me back on Loestrin, but this time the Loestrin 24. It has been a Godsend. I had spotting and bleeding for about 3 weeks, and now, barely anything. No complaints, and I'm sure my boyfriend (now fiancé) appreciates it too."

For Birth Control "I am 34 years old, and I've had my share of birth control. The NuvaRing made me have yeast infections, Mirena had me bleeding for 8 months. I stayed with it because my doctor told me to hold out. I also tried Depo twice when I was a teen. This is my 3rd week on Loestrin 24 Fe. The 1st week, I was a little moody. I still am a little. I spotted in the second week, but other than that, I'm fine. I know that with taking any birth control it will affect me some, but other than small things that are to be expected, I have no other problems. My skin is clear, and I feel pretty cool. As I mentioned though, this is my 3rd week. I will keep you all posted."

For Birth Control "I'm so mixed about this birth control. When I first started, I had weight gain and such insane mood swings for months that it completely ruined my relationship and my life. I never attributed it to the pill, though (but now, after reading all these reviews, I see it was the pill), and kept on it. Since then, those symptoms have completely disappeared. I hated my period, though, and just kept taking the pill without the iron pills to 'skip' my period. It worked for quite a while, but now I've been bleeding almost non-stop for four months. I'm probably going to have to go back to taking them normally and having a period."

For Birth Control "I have been on this pill for approximately 6 months now, and I am pleased with it. It is the first pill that I have experienced, and I am not pregnant yet, thank goodness. I definitely do get a lot moodier when it's close to the end of my pack, and I do occasionally have breakthrough bleeding about halfway through my pack, but so far it has been fine. I will continue to use this until I get any other problems."

For Birth Control "Due to my highly irregular and heavy periods, my doctor prescribed Loestrin 24 Fe. I'm only on my 2nd week, so some side effects right now are slight nausea, headaches, and some light bleeding. They're not unbearable either, very tolerable. I'm off to a good start with this pill, it has actually already started to clear up my skin a little, and so far I've experienced no other changes like mood swings, bloating, weight gain, etc. But I'll have to wait and see, I guess. So far though, I really like it."
