For Birth Control "I started taking this birth control on September 1st, and it's now October 14th. The first month I took it, I had my period for about 3 weeks straight, but it was light. When it came time that I would normally have gotten my period (which would have been at the end of the month), the bleeding went completely away after that time had passed that my actual period would have went away. Since then, it's been fine, my face cleared up a lot, and I'm maintaining a good weight too. I just got my period today, and it's very, very light and hardly any cramps. Hopefully, it only lasts 2-3 days!"

For Birth Control "I've been on Loestrin for about 2 months now, and I've honestly had a pretty pleasant experience with it. I've had no blatant side effects, but I do find that I'm a lot quicker to cry lately, and sometimes I get upset a bit unnecessarily. In terms of weight gain, which was my biggest concern, I haven't had any noticeable gain. I have had a lot of random cravings, though. Near the end of the first month, I had random breakthrough bleeding without any warning, and it was prior to the week of the designated period pills. Overall, I would recommend this pill."

"I have been on Loestrin 24 for 2 years now, and it has been great for me. It has cleared up my acne, and I have had no weight gain or other side effects while on this pill. However, just recently I have been having breakthrough bleeding, so I am switching to Tri-Sprintec. Also, I could not afford 50 dollars a month. Overall, though, I would say it's a great pill, and I highly recommend it."

"I've been on this pill for over 5 months, and it is a nightmare! The second month, I had severe, severe nausea every day until I started taking my pill right before I went to bed. I have breakthrough bleeding every month, and it's now on a regular cycle. I get my period Wednesday of the second week, and it stops around Monday of the fourth week. Plus, I also get it the last 3 or 4 days on the placebo pills. However, no weight gain."

"I was put on Loestrin because I have never had a normal period in my life. I would have light periods that would last for 3 weeks or so, with only a week in between, or occasionally very heavy periods with three weeks in between. I am 18, and this is my third month on the pill. I have had no mood swings or breakthrough bleeding whatsoever, and my periods are only three days, however, they are incredibly heavy. I am trying to figure out if a constant light period or a three-day period where I consistently worry about bleeding everywhere is better."

For Birth Control "I would highly not recommend using this birth control. The first week I was on it was great. The second week… everything went downhill. I developed painful cramps and heavy bleeding while still taking the pill on time. I also developed a facial twitch that eventually went away after stopping the medication and waiting an additional week for the medication to clear out of my system. The mood swings were so horrible that I honestly didn’t feel like myself at all."

For Birth Control "The first 3 or 4 days I had some bad nausea and I did notice a little bloating, but both faded quickly. I did not gain any weight - I have actually lost 5 pounds since starting it, but I also have been making healthier eating choices and I exercise a few times a week. My only complaint is that it made me spot bleed throughout the first month, which was annoying, and I have become a little more emotional, but it's nothing serious - and that happens with most birth control pills, anyway. My doctor says the spot bleeding is just something you need to tough out, and if you can, it gets much better after the first few months. Overall, I would recommend this pill - as long as you're willing to stick it out through the first month!"

For Birth Control "I have been using Loestrin 24 for at least 3 years now, with no problems whatsoever. I've never had breakthrough bleeding. I did not experience weight gain or any abnormal side effects. My periods have been light and very predictable. I'm going to try Seasonique starting in a few days. I just like the idea of only having 4 periods a year. I have a feeling though that I'll end up switching back to Loestrin because it has been very reliable for me."

For Birth Control "I was on this pill after I finished breastfeeding, and I had lots of problems with breakthrough bleeding every month. I was on Lo Ovral for 9 years prior to having a baby and didn't experience the problems I have with Loestrin."

For Birth Control "I have been using Loestrin 24 Fe for 7 months. I love the fact that my periods are a lot lighter, because Lord knows I had the longest, most painful periods ever! My breasts have grown a whole cup size, and they feel as though they might keep growing. I love the weight in my breasts, but I have gained 5 pounds, and I eat the same, if not better than before I got on the pill, and I exercise just as much, so I'm considering stopping the pill and switching to another method of birth control because weight gain and me do not mix well! I have had a large amount of spot bleeding, it has decreased as the months have gone on. Other than the weight gain, this pill has been my best friend, so if it doesn't seem to make you gain weight, I would say it is the best!"

For Birth Control "I wanted shorter periods and had breast pain on my old pill, so I asked for a low dose BC. I'm on month 4 of this pill and want to be off it desperately. Pack 1, I got a 1-day period and got excited. Pack 2, in the second week, I spotted a lot, then got a 2-day period on schedule. Pack 3, I spotted for 2 weeks and then had heavier spotting for a period. I'm almost through the first week of pack 4 and still bleeding, although it is way lighter than my previous periods on a different pill. I can't deal with this bleeding. My doctor said to give it 4 months, and here we are. I am asking to be put on my old BC ASAP, I'll put up with the sore boobs!"

For Birth Control "I have been on Loestrin 24 for a month, and so far it has been a bad experience for me. I have been bleeding this whole month and have gained about 7 lbs. I am very active and exercise every day, but I'm still gaining weight. I'm naturally a thin person, so it's quite noticeable, and it makes me very uncomfortable."

"I started Loestrin 24 Fe on Sunday and stopped on Tuesday. Originally, my gyno gave me this to take after a trip to her a week prior due to the fact that I was having an incredibly heavy period and losing so much blood to the point where it was making me anemic. I tried Yaz several years ago and hated it. My gyno told me that most people who don't do well on Yaz will do better on Loestrin, so I was hopeful to finally find a good birth control for me and to also prevent another incredibly heavy period from happening again. I was wrong. The nausea, the most unbearable cramps that would wake me up at night, and the bloating are HORRIBLE. I now either have breakthrough bleeding or another period on its way, and I only took it for 2 days!"
