For Birth Control "This is an excellent pill. I started on this pill about 8 months ago to prevent getting pregnant. Before this, I was on Yasmin, which was absolutely horrible as it made me extremely nauseous, tired, and gave me worse cramps with my period than I had before with a normal period. When I switched to Loestrin 24 Fe, I have had no side effects whatsoever. My periods are very light and short. The only reason I won't give it a 10 rating is because it sometimes makes me miss my period, which is kind of stressful. But it is effective, and it has worked for me. I also did not gain any weight, instead, I lost some. I went down from 103 pounds to 100."

For Acne "Was on Microgestin 1/20, but was making me depressed, so doctor prescribed this. Really only taking this to regulate periods and help clear up acne. Took the pill for three nights and already have three huge cystic pimples on my face. I rarely get cystic pimples, usually just some whiteheads around the time of the period. Also felt extremely nauseous and lightheaded. Not continuing with this, it is different for everyone, but not worth it for me."

For Birth Control "This is my 2nd birth control, and let me say it's a BIG improvement from my last. The 1st week of my 1st packet, I had some dizziness/nausea, and I got my period a week early. Other than that, this pill has worked well for me, especially since my breasts have grown. Also, although acne is 1 of the side effects, I find myself having no pimples now (although I'm not sure it would have the same effect for moderate or severe acne). I would recommend this to anyone."

For Birth Control "The first 3 or 4 days I had some bad nausea and I did notice a little bloating, but both faded quickly. I did not gain any weight - I have actually lost 5 pounds since starting it, but I also have been making healthier eating choices and I exercise a few times a week. My only complaint is that it made me spot bleed throughout the first month, which was annoying, and I have become a little more emotional, but it's nothing serious - and that happens with most birth control pills, anyway. My doctor says the spot bleeding is just something you need to tough out, and if you can, it gets much better after the first few months. Overall, I would recommend this pill - as long as you're willing to stick it out through the first month!"

"This pill was okay at first, then about 6 weeks into it, I noticed the nausea and stomach cramping continuing no matter what I ate. Then vomiting started, so much that it dampened my quality of life. I couldn't go out to eat or anything. I had to stop it."

For Birth Control "I started taking Loestrin 24 Fe a few months ago, but before starting it, I read so many negative reviews that I almost asked my doctor for a new prescription. But, seeing as she was able to give me a couple of free samples, I decided to try it, and I'm so glad I did. I had very limited negative side effects, and several positive ones. The first day or two, I did feel sick to my stomach, but that quickly went away. This pill reduced my pre-period mood swings, cravings for everything in sight, and cramping. It also has taken me up a bra size and cleared up my mild acne! No weight gain for me at all whatsoever. I would suggest trying Loestrin 24 Fe for a few months for yourself, because if it works this well for you, you'll love it!"

For Birth Control "I had a terrible experience with this BC. Once I started taking it, I was very nauseous daily for a week. Once I got my period, it was so painful and so heavy, I couldn't even do anything. I would also get a full-blown period twice in one month. My period was never like that before. I stayed on it for 3 months or so trying to let my body get used to it, but it was not working out. I started taking this birth control to shrink ovarian cysts. I had two small ones that did go away, but I had another bigger one pop up. But everybody is different. I just felt like sharing my experience. I am now taking Minastrin 24 Fe. So we will see how this works for me...."

"I started Loestrin 24 Fe on Sunday and stopped on Tuesday. Originally, my gyno gave me this to take after a trip to her a week prior due to the fact that I was having an incredibly heavy period and losing so much blood to the point where it was making me anemic. I tried Yaz several years ago and hated it. My gyno told me that most people who don't do well on Yaz will do better on Loestrin, so I was hopeful to finally find a good birth control for me and to also prevent another incredibly heavy period from happening again. I was wrong. The nausea, the most unbearable cramps that would wake me up at night, and the bloating are HORRIBLE. I now either have breakthrough bleeding or another period on its way, and I only took it for 2 days!"

For Endometriosis "I was on this pill for 4 months. The pros: periods were light and predictable. The cons: nausea and hair loss/thinning. After the results of the hair situation, I got off of this pill."
