For Birth Control "I've been taking birth control pills since I was 17. I'm 50 now. All those years, and never had a problem with the pills I took other than some bloating with Junel. Then started Blisovi when my pharmacy was back-ordered for Microgestin. Didn't know what was about to happen... Started the first week - and continued to bleed, have cramps, and massive bloating in spite of the pill. Also started to notice grumpiness and general unhappiness. Let me tell you, everyone describes me as 'super happy' and 'smiley' and 'fun.' Who knew the next 7 days after that would have me spiraling down into deep depression, insecurity, paranoia, and general nastiness. Felt awful no matter what was going on. I could have won the lottery and been miserable about it. This drug is a nightmare. Consider yourself warned..."

For Birth Control "This is the worst birth control I have ever been on. I have been on many different brands and also other generics for Loestrin Fe, and I have never had side effects like this. I’ve been taking this for 4 months now because I was trying to give it a fair chance, but I have never had worse cramps in my life (which is saying a lot considering I have endometriosis), they even wake me up when I am sleeping. I bled like a normal period for half of my second and my whole third month, which resulted in my having a decidual cast that is rare and was extremely painful. (Google it.) Aside from that, I have had bad bloating, brain fog, and headaches. I never review things, but I felt it important to share my experience since I read these similar reviews and didn’t listen."

For Birth Control "I was switched to this medication after finding out that Gildess FE 1.5/30 had been recalled. I feel so much better on this pill compared to Gildess. I've been taking Blisovi for about 8 months and have periods that are light and last 2-4 days. Cramping is more mild compared to not being on birth control, while the bloating I have in my lower body before periods is comparable to not taking birth control. I experience slight breast tenderness toward the end of the pill pack and headaches for a couple of days when beginning a new pack. All the side effects I have had are mild and easier to deal with than not taking birth control, plus it prevents pregnancy."

For Birth Control "Terrible! Like so many others on this thread, I've gained weight, couldn't control my anxiety, and the bloating was insane! I couldn't figure out what was wrong with me. It wasn't until there was a mix-up with my doctors and I was off it for less than a week that my appetite went back to normal, bloating down (sometimes I would look 5 months pregnant) and anxiety lessened immensely. I thought I was just gaining weight due to being in a new relationship. I wish I had read these reviews before I started this pill a year and a half ago! Never again would I ever take this pill. They should discontinue it."

For Birth Control "Although I have not been on this birth control long, I have had no major problems. I was nervous starting this birth control for one reason: I’ve never taken birth control before, another reason is that the reviews were so bad. Within the first week of taking it, my skin has looked really clear, my usual bloating has gone away, and I have had no major issues that made me scared to take this birth control at first. I have been slightly more emotional, and another side effect I have is my stomach issues. I either feel not hungry sometimes, or I have diarrhea, but it’s nothing as bad as some other women have been through. It will take some time for my body to start getting used to this. Overall, I was skeptical of this, but it works for me, however, I know everyone’s body will react to it differently. Hope it works for everyone!!"

For Birth Control "I want to thank all the other women coming forward about the horrible side effects of being switched from regular Microgestin to this medicine by the pharmacist. I hadn’t pieced this all together: why the immense anger, anxiety, sleeplessness, swelling in my legs, and 22 lbs of weight gain in 4 months after being about the same weight for 5 years! It’s been a horrible 18 months for me. This month, I opted to skip birth control to see if it helped the bloating and mood swings, and it did. I peed all the time, lost tons of water weight, slept through the night, and could button my jeans again. I went to start my birth control today, the Blisovi, I hesitated and decided to do some research and found all of these voices. I am exhausted by our struggles and doctors saying all generics are the same. Stick with Microgestin, and if you are one of the new users who thinks it’s great, track your weight, mood, and sleep over at least 6 months and see if you don’t notice a change."

"I have been on Microgestin for years and had no issues. I recently went back on the pill after terrible menstrual cycles. My doctor put me on Microgestin, but when I went and picked it up, I was given the packet of Blisovi. I asked the pharmacist, and he told me this was the same stuff. It’s definitely not the same. I have been so irritable that I’m surprised my family hasn’t disowned me! I have also been so bloated, depressed, and starting to put on weight, and I work out every day! I’m eating healthy too. I also have not been sleeping at night and feel very restless. Yet the next day, I am so tired and end up napping. I don’t even drink caffeine! My husband finally commented on how different I’ve been since starting this new pill. I stopped taking it today and hope I feel better! No pharmacist should ever assume they can just switch you and it’s the same. I’ve never had such a bad experience, and I’ve been on different pills for over 20 years."

For Birth Control "I was having bleeding and cramping issues while on a low-dose hormone pill. My doctor insisted it was because my hormones were not balanced, and she switched me to this full hormone pill. Not only did my symptoms not go away, but now I'm experiencing headaches, nausea, depression, suicidal ideations, GI problems, anxiety, constant bloating, rashes, weight gain, and massive mood swings. This is by far the worst birth control I've ever been on. I'm 36, and I've been through the patch, Paragard, Isobloom, Ortho Tricyclen Low, along with a number of generic versions. I do not recommend this pill."

For Birth Control "Just recently started taking birth control for the first time. So far, it hasn't been that bad. A little bloated, tenderness in the breast area, slightly nauseated at times, but honestly nothing unbearable. It comes with the territory of having a menstrual cycle. Hopefully, it works, and unlike most people, I don't have to try many to find one that works well. Best of wishes."

For Birth Control "I am 19, and I have been on this birth control for over a year now. I was originally on a lower dose, but since I kept getting my period on days other than the placebo pills, the doctors upped my dosage. For the past year, I have dealt with higher levels of anxiety, terrible bloating to the point where I can only eat once or twice a day, and mild depression. The mood swings are horrible. I am switching as soon as possible. I don’t recommend it, it has been the worst year."

For Birth Control "I've been on Blisovi for almost 2 months, and the side effects have been constant. The headaches, occasional dizziness, and not to mention the bloating every single day. It's gotten to the point where I don't recognize my own body. The first month, when I was supposed to menstruate, I spotted for 2 days, nothing more. The side effects outweighed the potential benefits for me. Every woman is different, so don't knock it until you try it."

For Birth Control "I have been on this terrible pill since 2016, and I went from 190 lb to 240 lb, my highest weight ever! Also, I diet and nothing happens. I stay bloated and aggravated, and I cry for no reason at all. Some nights after I take the pill, I get sweaty, diarrhea, can’t sleep, and have severe stomach pain. Many more, can’t think of them all, but it’s bad!!! I go to the hospital when I can’t handle it, and it’s not my gallbladder or anything, so I’m assuming it’s this pill. It’s every night I take it. Terrible!!! I have 5 kids, so I don’t want to stop BC, but I'm really thinking of it! I feel it’s no good, and my symptoms are just like some of the ladies on here. It’s a bad pill and needs to be recalled. No sex drive at all, I feel like I’m an old lady!!!! What should I do!!?"
