For Birth Control "I want to break down in tears right now because after reading all these reviews, I know I’m not alone. My pharm switched me to Blisovi after Microgestin, and my depression and anger are THROUGH THE ROOF. My anger is hurting other people so bad that I’m seeking anger management. Maybe I should save myself the money and just stop taking this pill because it has to be the problem."

For Birth Control "I've been taking birth control pills since I was 17. I'm 50 now. All those years, and never had a problem with the pills I took other than some bloating with Junel. Then started Blisovi when my pharmacy was back-ordered for Microgestin. Didn't know what was about to happen... Started the first week - and continued to bleed, have cramps, and massive bloating in spite of the pill. Also started to notice grumpiness and general unhappiness. Let me tell you, everyone describes me as 'super happy' and 'smiley' and 'fun.' Who knew the next 7 days after that would have me spiraling down into deep depression, insecurity, paranoia, and general nastiness. Felt awful no matter what was going on. I could have won the lottery and been miserable about it. This drug is a nightmare. Consider yourself warned..."

For Birth Control "I took this for 2 years and felt emotionally up and down constantly. I was depressed and would feel angry all the time. I would feel intense anger or depression, and it felt like a hole I couldn't climb out of for days at a time. It dawned on me after all that time that it could be an effect of the pill. I stopped the pill and felt back to my old self soon after."

For Birth Control "My original prescription was for Microgestin, which I’ve been taking for 4 years. When I was given Blisovi, I asked my doctor, was assured it was the same formula, so I began my first month's supply without fear. I began waking up every morning so nauseous that I felt like passing out. I thought it was from skipping breakfast, so I made sure to eat every morning, no change. I waited it out and saw if it would pass in month 2 when my body fully adjusted. Nope, I was still nauseous and became very irritable. I started going to bed early, but still woke up angry. My mood swings started to affect my boyfriend’s mental health. I thought it was stress, so I sought out help to control my anger and anxiety. I got so depressed, I forgot to start month 3. Within a week, I noticed I felt less irritated and anxious, and my nausea disappeared. My mind was clear, and I started up month 3, and the next morning it started again. Seeing these reviews has given me so much relief to know I’m not the only one going through this."

For Birth Control "After reading all of these reviews, I was extremely nervous to start this new birth control (BC). For months, I was taking a BC called Femynor after my insurance changed my medication from Orthocyclen. I became extremely depressed and basically just dealt with it because it did the job. After about 6 months, I was so depressed that I was crying almost every day about the smallest things and finally called my doctor and told her what had been going on. She decided to switch me to Microgestin, but my pharmacy provided me with Blisovi (what my insurance covered). I’ve been on it for about 2 weeks now, and I feel so AMAZING that I HAD to write a review. I felt a change right away. All of a sudden, I feel like myself again. I’m so much happier and productive. I will probably come back and write a review when my period comes because I don’t know how that is going to go yet, but as of now, I’m very happy with this medication."

For Birth Control "This BC is horrible! I realized I was getting depressed every day, and my mood swings are bad. I was starting to think I was bipolar, but after reading similar reviews, I know I'm not crazy - it is just the Blisovi."

For Birth Control "Have been on Microgestin for years. One day, the pharmacy just said they didn’t have any, but this one is “totally the same thing.” Absolutely not. The whole month I’ve taken this pill, I have been extremely exhausted nonstop, have felt nauseous every day, have had awful stomach pains for a week leading up to my period, and every little thing annoys or makes me sad. After reading the reviews, it’s obviously not only me that has experienced these side effects. Haven’t gotten pregnant, so that’s the reason for the couple of stars I gave this pill. Would not recommend. Anyone who’s been on Microgestin, please know this is NOT the same and will make you feel different."

For Birth Control "I have been on birth control since 13 years old because of extremely painful and long periods. My doctor started me out on Microgestin, then my pharmacy switched me to Junel. Neither gave me side effects from what I could tell. Then, not long ago, I got switched to Blisovi. For months, I've been feeling extreme, paralyzing anxiety and the darkest depression I've ever experienced (and I've struggled with depression and anxiety for as long as I can remember). So I'm getting off of it. No period pain is worse than the anxiety and depression I have been experiencing. If you struggle with depression or anxiety, please stay off this medicine. Try Microgestin instead, but don't believe that these two medications are comparable."

For Birth Control "Like so many others, I've been on Microgestin for years before the pharmacist randomly put me on Blisovi. I've always had anxiety, but being on this pill made it even worse! I was breaking down, crying randomly and having more panic attacks. I also developed depression; I stopped enjoying the things I used to love doing. I also gained 15 lbs since taking it from March 2018 - January 2019. My sex drive also decreased. I didn't realize the pill was most likely responsible for my anxiety and depression; I thought it was my original diagnosis getting worse. The only good thing this pill did was prevent pregnancy and stop my migraines. I took them continuously to skip my periods, never had breakthrough bleeding or cramps."

For Birth Control "I started taking Microgestin in 2014, and just this year in March, I went to pick up another pack and was told they no longer had it, but they gave me a new BC Blisovi and assured me it was exactly the same. Well, it’s not. My anxiety has been at an all-time high, as well as my depression. I have gained 15 pounds just from taking this pill from March to August. This pill has made my life awful, I am always so nauseous and irritated. Would not recommend whatsoever."

For Birth Control "I got this birth control through the app Nurx, and I thought it was the coolest, fastest way to get birth control. I was on microgestin before this pill, and everything was fine. Since getting this pill, I’ve noticed my anxiety skyrocket, mild depression, and I cry so much for every little thing, and my moods are just off the charts. I can be totally fine one moment, then something sets me off. And I feel angry most of the time. I thought this was only me, but now everything makes sense. I think I’ll stop taking this pill. I do not recommend."

For Birth Control "I’ve been on Blisovi for a year and a half. Within one year, I went from 128 to 140 pounds, despite eating a plant-based diet and exercising every day! For reference, I typically only gain 1-3 pounds a year at most! It has prevented pregnancy and helped my cramps, but after reading these experiences, I’m wondering if my acid reflux and anxiety have been worsened by Blisovi. I have recently been put on Nexium to control my acid reflux, and I’m only 23 years old! It has never been as bad as it has been this past year and a half. I have also had random bouts of depression, major anxiety, and began getting strong and painful headaches this year. The only reason I want to continue Blisovi is because it has cleared my acne up after struggling with acne since I was 13, and it has prevented pregnancy, but the extreme weight gain is really weighing down my confidence, especially because my everyday cardio doesn’t seem to lower my weight."

For Birth Control "Being on this pill has skyrocketed my depression and anxiety to the point where a lot of days are just unbearable. I didn’t have any issues with weight gain, but I did have horrible headaches and noticed a little unwanted body hair. I get pills work differently for everyone, but this one definitely didn’t work for me. So glad to be switching to a different pill."

For Birth Control "So this is the first oral contraceptive I’ve used, but I can honestly say that for the most part, I would recommend it. Since being on this medication, I have lost weight, experienced relief from the killer cramps I have before, protected myself from pregnancy, and have little to no period. I will say the downside is my PMS week. I feel very depressed sometimes, and I break out, but it’s only during that week. Typically, it’s around the chin area when I break out, so I know it’s definitely hormonal. For the most part, it’s not so bad!"

For Birth Control "This pill has not helped me from the start. Just writing this comment to tell you what happened to me. I have been nauseous (to a serious extreme), depressed, anxious, tired, dizzy (I fainted). Yeah, I fainted, passed out on the ground, peed my pants while it happened too?! At 23 years old, perfectly healthy human. Might work differently for you, but just sharing my experience. Also, been on it for 4+ months because I know your body needs to adjust. Well, people, that did not happen for me, everything just kept getting worse. This pill's a no-go from me. Time for me to try my 4th birth control, starting to think birth control just isn’t for me."

"I have been on Microgestin for years and had no issues. I recently went back on the pill after terrible menstrual cycles. My doctor put me on Microgestin, but when I went and picked it up, I was given the packet of Blisovi. I asked the pharmacist, and he told me this was the same stuff. It’s definitely not the same. I have been so irritable that I’m surprised my family hasn’t disowned me! I have also been so bloated, depressed, and starting to put on weight, and I work out every day! I’m eating healthy too. I also have not been sleeping at night and feel very restless. Yet the next day, I am so tired and end up napping. I don’t even drink caffeine! My husband finally commented on how different I’ve been since starting this new pill. I stopped taking it today and hope I feel better! No pharmacist should ever assume they can just switch you and it’s the same. I’ve never had such a bad experience, and I’ve been on different pills for over 20 years."

For Birth Control "I was having bleeding and cramping issues while on a low-dose hormone pill. My doctor insisted it was because my hormones were not balanced, and she switched me to this full hormone pill. Not only did my symptoms not go away, but now I'm experiencing headaches, nausea, depression, suicidal ideations, GI problems, anxiety, constant bloating, rashes, weight gain, and massive mood swings. This is by far the worst birth control I've ever been on. I'm 36, and I've been through the patch, Paragard, Isobloom, Ortho Tricyclen Low, along with a number of generic versions. I do not recommend this pill."

For Birth Control "I’ve been taking this birth control for a bit now, and I can already tell a difference in myself. I am an upbeat, fun person, and ever since taking this, I feel sad, lonely, and depressed. I feel like I’m always trying to reach out for comfort for something that’s not there. I honestly don’t know how to explain it. I don’t feel like myself. I feel like a completely different person. It’s almost like I’m having an out-of-body experience like I don’t feel like I’m me? I know everyone is different when it comes to things like this. Some people are fine, but then you have people like me. I definitely would watch taking it and notice the signs before it gets too bad."

For Birth Control "I took this Blisovi Fe 1.5/30 pill for 11 days and had intense panic attacks, increased depression, and super dark thoughts. I couldn't sleep, and I barely ate or drank anything because my anxiety was so high. A family member had to call in sick to work on the last day I took it because they were afraid to leave me alone. Constant crying spells after the 6th day of taking the pill and also very intense rage that wasn't justified. I don't think it's a very good pill; I've been on a few and didn't experience anything like this. Another very bad side effect I didn't have on any other pills is my blood pressure went from the high side of normal to level 2 hypertension. I don't know if that's from the medicine or from the constant panic I felt. Would not recommend."

For Birth Control "I am 19, and I have been on this birth control for over a year now. I was originally on a lower dose, but since I kept getting my period on days other than the placebo pills, the doctors upped my dosage. For the past year, I have dealt with higher levels of anxiety, terrible bloating to the point where I can only eat once or twice a day, and mild depression. The mood swings are horrible. I am switching as soon as possible. I don’t recommend it, it has been the worst year."

"Comparing this to the Microgestin I used to take, it SUCKS. I have PCOS, so I really have to take some form of birth control. Since my pharmacy never has Microgestin available, I have to take this. Before, I would take any birth control at all, I never had serious issues with acne. It was fairly normal and stayed that way, if not better, with Microgestin. I would only break out before my period. Blisovi is awful, I have had painful, annoying acne pop out of nowhere! It doesn’t help that I’ve had an increase in anxiety and depression. Also, I notice before each period I get severe lower back pain and cramping. I’m disappointed. I don’t have to worry about any copay because I don’t even want this for free."

For Birth Control "It was the worst experience I’ve had. I’ve had anxiety since my senior year of high school (2017); when taking the birth control (started December 2018), it worsened my anxiety, and I developed mood changes and depression during my sophomore year of college. I would be crying almost every day and even had a really hard time. I stopped taking it around March or April 2019 and have been completely fine ever since. Hopefully, the new BC I get won’t give me these problems like Blisovi. Also, the first time I got Blisovi, it was covered, but then after the third month, the pharmacy only covered less than half the price, so I ended up paying $30."

For Birth Control "I was on this Blisovi Fe 1.5/30 birth control for 3 months before I had to change. I did not feel like myself, and I felt like I was living outside of my body. I started having panic attacks multiple times a week, and it almost cost my relationship with my amazing boyfriend. I became very depressed and anxious that the smallest things made me freak out. I couldn't think ahead about my life or even the week without having a panic attack. I do not recommend this birth control."
