For Birth Control "I was very nervous to start this pill due to the large amount of negative comments about it. I was originally on Taytulla, but that pill caused me to spot each month, and I had terrible cramps almost constantly. I was prescribed Blisovi, but I put off taking it for three months because I was so nervous. However, I am now on my third month of the pill, and I have had no negative side effects, and I honestly really like it. This pill has made me feel normal again. I was emotional at the beginning of taking it, but my hormones have balanced out since. The only thing besides that that has happened is that I have lost 10 pounds, which is honestly very nice. For me, this pill has definitely decreased my appetite. Don't let the negative reviews scare you away, it reacts differently for everyone!"

For Birth Control "I’ll say this is not a pill for everybody. I switched to this pill 3 months ago, and I’ve gained 6 pounds already, even though I keep a really good diet. My mood swings more than usual, and little things make me very angry. I feel tired all the time, even after sleeping 8 or 9 hrs. My legs hurt during the day, and my ankles are swollen 24/7. I thought that was my fault for not being active enough, but now that I’m seeing these comments, I know that I’m not alone. Thanks, everybody, for sharing their experience, things make more sense now."

For Birth Control "My original prescription was for Microgestin, which I’ve been taking for 4 years. When I was given Blisovi, I asked my doctor, was assured it was the same formula, so I began my first month's supply without fear. I began waking up every morning so nauseous that I felt like passing out. I thought it was from skipping breakfast, so I made sure to eat every morning, no change. I waited it out and saw if it would pass in month 2 when my body fully adjusted. Nope, I was still nauseous and became very irritable. I started going to bed early, but still woke up angry. My mood swings started to affect my boyfriend’s mental health. I thought it was stress, so I sought out help to control my anger and anxiety. I got so depressed, I forgot to start month 3. Within a week, I noticed I felt less irritated and anxious, and my nausea disappeared. My mind was clear, and I started up month 3, and the next morning it started again. Seeing these reviews has given me so much relief to know I’m not the only one going through this."

For Birth Control "I love Blisovi Fe 1.5/30. I was taking it for over a year and never had a problem. Not only did it prevent pregnancy, my skin was great, had no mood swings, had no weight gain or any other negative side effects. I had a lapse in insurance and ended up getting my birth control from Planned Parenthood for about 4 months. They didn’t carry Blisovi, so I got the equivalent dosage of Chateal, and I was immediately in shambles, with bad mood swings, bad headaches, and bad skin. Although it did do its job of preventing pregnancy. I finally got back on insurance and got Blisovi again! I’ve only taken about half of my first pack on Blisovi, and it has already corrected my mood and cleared up my skin. It is crazy how sensitive our bodies are and how different we all are. Blisovi works for me, but there is no review you will read that will tell you one way or another how a pill will work for you. You just have to try to figure out what works for your body."

For Birth Control "This BC is horrible! I realized I was getting depressed every day, and my mood swings are bad. I was starting to think I was bipolar, but after reading similar reviews, I know I'm not crazy - it is just the Blisovi."

For Birth Control "I was put on this pill in October of 2017 after I changed insurance providers. Ever since I have started this pill, I have been anxious, on edge, irritable, and overly emotional. I am surprised my boyfriend hasn't left me! I am angry all of the time; I am constantly panicking; I cry over EVERYTHING (really, everything; sunsets, children playing, dogs, people smiling), which is terrible. I thought that it might have something to do with the fact that I am a grad student and I am incredibly busy and have a lot of stress, but I went on vacation last week and accidentally forgot my BC pills. After about 2 days without Blisovi Fe, I felt as if a giant weight was lifted off of my chest. I could finally breathe without feeling like the whole world is going to cave in on me. I wasn't irritable or annoyed the entire trip. I am so upset that it took me this long to realize that the hell that I have been going through was all due to this stupid pink pill."

For Birth Control "I took this birth control pill for about a year, and it caused incredible amounts of nausea for me. My body would attempt to reject it by curbing my eating habits because when I took it without food, I would throw up about 5 times every 20-30 minutes in the middle of the night. If I ate something small, such as a banana, I would begin to feel nauseous about 4 hours later. It did help prevent pregnancy, but many times I used backup methods because there were many times I didn’t want to take it because of the vomiting. I also had severe mood swings, mainly resulting in irrational anger. I do consider myself someone who is more prone to anger and mood swings, but never in the way this birth control made them."

For Birth Control "Although I have not been on this birth control long, I have had no major problems. I was nervous starting this birth control for one reason: I’ve never taken birth control before, another reason is that the reviews were so bad. Within the first week of taking it, my skin has looked really clear, my usual bloating has gone away, and I have had no major issues that made me scared to take this birth control at first. I have been slightly more emotional, and another side effect I have is my stomach issues. I either feel not hungry sometimes, or I have diarrhea, but it’s nothing as bad as some other women have been through. It will take some time for my body to start getting used to this. Overall, I was skeptical of this, but it works for me, however, I know everyone’s body will react to it differently. Hope it works for everyone!!"

For Birth Control "I got this birth control through the app Nurx, and I thought it was the coolest, fastest way to get birth control. I was on microgestin before this pill, and everything was fine. Since getting this pill, I’ve noticed my anxiety skyrocket, mild depression, and I cry so much for every little thing, and my moods are just off the charts. I can be totally fine one moment, then something sets me off. And I feel angry most of the time. I thought this was only me, but now everything makes sense. I think I’ll stop taking this pill. I do not recommend."

For Birth Control "It’s been two months since I’ve been on this new birth control. The first month I didn’t really have any side effects other than my acne flaring up and a super light period. The second month my acne calmed down, and my period was a little heavier, but here come the side effects. I started having horrible nightmares and waking up drenched in sweat. I would have hot flashes all through the day, and I was extremely tired. My anxiety was high, and I had mood swings. I couldn’t figure out what was wrong with me, I wanted to go to the ER because I felt like I could barely breathe, and the hot flashes were so intense I was scared I was going to pass out. I realized it was the birth control! I was skeptical of these bad reviews from people when I researched the pill before taking it, but sadly it’s true! Horrible experience. I gave 2 stars because my acne did clear up a bit and it prevented pregnancy."

For Birth Control "I've been on the Blisovi pill for 7 months now, and it recently got bad. I started the pill due to my very long and irregular periods. At first, it seemed as if nothing had changed, but then over time, my periods shortened and have been the most painful they have ever been. I'm still very irregular and still having painful cramps (that kept me up all night), as well as my emotions, which have gone through the roof. Crying every night, bad mood swings, and weight loss (I was already 10 pounds underweight). I'm constantly angry at the people I love for no reason, and the only explanation is the pill. My acne was never really bad, but I did find that my chest and back broke out more than usual. I plan to stop taking this!!!"

For Birth Control "I want to thank all the other women coming forward about the horrible side effects of being switched from regular Microgestin to this medicine by the pharmacist. I hadn’t pieced this all together: why the immense anger, anxiety, sleeplessness, swelling in my legs, and 22 lbs of weight gain in 4 months after being about the same weight for 5 years! It’s been a horrible 18 months for me. This month, I opted to skip birth control to see if it helped the bloating and mood swings, and it did. I peed all the time, lost tons of water weight, slept through the night, and could button my jeans again. I went to start my birth control today, the Blisovi, I hesitated and decided to do some research and found all of these voices. I am exhausted by our struggles and doctors saying all generics are the same. Stick with Microgestin, and if you are one of the new users who thinks it’s great, track your weight, mood, and sleep over at least 6 months and see if you don’t notice a change."

For Birth Control "I've been on Blisovi for 4 months after previously taking a different pill for 3.5 years. I switched because my old pill was not strong enough hormonally, and I would have periods that lasted over 3 months while taking that pill (no exaggeration). While Blisovi finally stopped my constant breakthrough bleeding, it has given me more side effects than anything I've ever taken before. The biggest issue is that I am allergic and began getting quarter-sized hives all over my body that have not gone away until I stopped the medication. My skin became extremely oily, and now I have more acne than I did before starting birth control 3 years ago. I have awful mood swings, and my anxiety is the worst it has been in 4 years. I had none of these problems on my old birth control. I now have to search for a third birth control pill because the side effects of Blisovi are almost as bad as my vomit-inducing 10-day period that I get without BC."

For Birth Control "I have been taking the Junel Fe, and that one was perfect for me, but I recently switched pharmacies and the pharmacy did not have Junel, only Blisovi, so I gave it a try for two months, almost on my third, and it is terrible! I have mood swings that I just can't control. Acne is starting to appear in places I’ve never seen, and I’ve been really dehydrated-not that water is bad, but I drink more than usual. I’m gonna switch back to Junel. I don’t recommend Blisovi to anybody."

For Birth Control "I have been taking Blisovi for two months, only because Microgestin is no longer available at my pharmacy. As they often do, the pharmacist assured me this generic was 'exactly the same' as Microgestin. Within the past two months, a dark line has appeared around my lips, I have been EXTREMELY emotional, my anxiety has been at an all-time high for no reason, my sex drive has plummeted, and I've gained 3 pounds (not an alarming amount, but I work out religiously, and my weight has always been very consistent). I'm not entirely sure what I'm going to do, but I am NOT taking Blisovi anymore. For those of you reading this who take Blisovi and are feeling the same way: you're not crazy, and you're not alone. If anyone is reading this and considering starting Blisovi: do yourself a favor and stay far, far away."

For Birth Control "I was having bleeding and cramping issues while on a low-dose hormone pill. My doctor insisted it was because my hormones were not balanced, and she switched me to this full hormone pill. Not only did my symptoms not go away, but now I'm experiencing headaches, nausea, depression, suicidal ideations, GI problems, anxiety, constant bloating, rashes, weight gain, and massive mood swings. This is by far the worst birth control I've ever been on. I'm 36, and I've been through the patch, Paragard, Isobloom, Ortho Tricyclen Low, along with a number of generic versions. I do not recommend this pill."

For Birth Control "I am 19, and I have been on this birth control for over a year now. I was originally on a lower dose, but since I kept getting my period on days other than the placebo pills, the doctors upped my dosage. For the past year, I have dealt with higher levels of anxiety, terrible bloating to the point where I can only eat once or twice a day, and mild depression. The mood swings are horrible. I am switching as soon as possible. I don’t recommend it, it has been the worst year."

For Birth Control "I’ve been on this for 2ish years. I don’t know much about birth control, but I’ve been wondering if this is the reason I’m having so many issues. My mood is up and down and has been for a while. I’ve gained about 80 lbs in 2 years regardless of what I’ve done to lose weight. I’m going to talk with my doc about it because this is not okay and hasn’t been for a while."

For Birth Control "It was the worst experience I’ve had. I’ve had anxiety since my senior year of high school (2017); when taking the birth control (started December 2018), it worsened my anxiety, and I developed mood changes and depression during my sophomore year of college. I would be crying almost every day and even had a really hard time. I stopped taking it around March or April 2019 and have been completely fine ever since. Hopefully, the new BC I get won’t give me these problems like Blisovi. Also, the first time I got Blisovi, it was covered, but then after the third month, the pharmacy only covered less than half the price, so I ended up paying $30."
