For Birth Control "I haven’t had much problems with Blisovi Fe 1.5/30 birth control. Occasionally, I do spot a bit early, but it could be from taking it at different times of the day. I started this birth control a few years ago and didn’t notice getting acne or gaining a lot of weight. Pretty content with it!"

For Birth Control "I was on Microgestin for about a year after trying 3-4 different birth controls. It was perfect, it regulated my period, got rid of my acne, and worked well as a birth control. One day I picked it up and found out that I had been switched over to Blisovi since my pharmacy did not carry Microgestin any longer. I asked if I could have some ordered and wait for more, and the pharmacist told me that I could not switch back. I have been on Blisovi since this past October and have gained 45 pounds. I have immense migraines and really heavy periods every 2 weeks that last a week or longer. I have tried everything to shed the weight, but nothing has worked. On top of that, my anxiety (which is another condition I am being treated for) has been at least 10 times worse. Do not let your pharmacist switch you. Everything has changed and gone so badly since I got switched."

For Birth Control "Terrible! Like so many others on this thread, I've gained weight, couldn't control my anxiety, and the bloating was insane! I couldn't figure out what was wrong with me. It wasn't until there was a mix-up with my doctors and I was off it for less than a week that my appetite went back to normal, bloating down (sometimes I would look 5 months pregnant) and anxiety lessened immensely. I thought I was just gaining weight due to being in a new relationship. I wish I had read these reviews before I started this pill a year and a half ago! Never again would I ever take this pill. They should discontinue it."

For Birth Control "Like so many others, I've been on Microgestin for years before the pharmacist randomly put me on Blisovi. I've always had anxiety, but being on this pill made it even worse! I was breaking down, crying randomly and having more panic attacks. I also developed depression; I stopped enjoying the things I used to love doing. I also gained 15 lbs since taking it from March 2018 - January 2019. My sex drive also decreased. I didn't realize the pill was most likely responsible for my anxiety and depression; I thought it was my original diagnosis getting worse. The only good thing this pill did was prevent pregnancy and stop my migraines. I took them continuously to skip my periods, never had breakthrough bleeding or cramps."

For Birth Control "I got switched to this somehow in the transition to Nurx, and my pharmacy gave me this-I'm still trying to sort it out and not blaming anyone. I had been a couple of days without birth control because my old prescription, Lo Loestrin, which I love and have taken for years, had expired. So I started taking this anyway since I'd been without. I've been taking it for two weeks, and my skin on my chest and back has broken out with acne. I haven't experienced this since my teen years. My breasts have been swollen and tender, and I swear I feel like I've gained 5-7 pounds. I'm also getting cramps that have disrupted my sleeping. I wasn't expecting this medicine to be any different from my Lo Estrin, but it's awful. I had actually forgotten how bad the wrong birth control can mess with you. I'm trying to sort out my prescription and have stopped taking this. Thank goodness my husband has had a vasectomy. I take BC because it causes me not to have periods and regulates hormonal fluctuations."

For Birth Control "I’ve been on Blisovi for a year and a half. Within one year, I went from 128 to 140 pounds, despite eating a plant-based diet and exercising every day! For reference, I typically only gain 1-3 pounds a year at most! It has prevented pregnancy and helped my cramps, but after reading these experiences, I’m wondering if my acid reflux and anxiety have been worsened by Blisovi. I have recently been put on Nexium to control my acid reflux, and I’m only 23 years old! It has never been as bad as it has been this past year and a half. I have also had random bouts of depression, major anxiety, and began getting strong and painful headaches this year. The only reason I want to continue Blisovi is because it has cleared my acne up after struggling with acne since I was 13, and it has prevented pregnancy, but the extreme weight gain is really weighing down my confidence, especially because my everyday cardio doesn’t seem to lower my weight."

For Birth Control "Being on this pill has skyrocketed my depression and anxiety to the point where a lot of days are just unbearable. I didn’t have any issues with weight gain, but I did have horrible headaches and noticed a little unwanted body hair. I get pills work differently for everyone, but this one definitely didn’t work for me. So glad to be switching to a different pill."

For Birth Control "This is the first birth control I have ever taken due to everyone telling me how bad it is and all the false things they tell you! I had my fourth baby in January of '17, and I started taking Blisovi Fe 1.5/30. The first two months were bad because I had migraines in the middle of when my period was supposed to happen, and it did, it was normal, but I never had a headache like that since I was a child. I said to my husband I'm going to try next month and see what happens. He told me to get off of it because he could barely see me the way I was, but I got used to it. I feel just like I did before... I have a normal period, no headache, no weight gain... nothing!"

For Birth Control "I have been taking Blisovi for two months, only because Microgestin is no longer available at my pharmacy. As they often do, the pharmacist assured me this generic was 'exactly the same' as Microgestin. Within the past two months, a dark line has appeared around my lips, I have been EXTREMELY emotional, my anxiety has been at an all-time high for no reason, my sex drive has plummeted, and I've gained 3 pounds (not an alarming amount, but I work out religiously, and my weight has always been very consistent). I'm not entirely sure what I'm going to do, but I am NOT taking Blisovi anymore. For those of you reading this who take Blisovi and are feeling the same way: you're not crazy, and you're not alone. If anyone is reading this and considering starting Blisovi: do yourself a favor and stay far, far away."

"I have been on Microgestin for years and had no issues. I recently went back on the pill after terrible menstrual cycles. My doctor put me on Microgestin, but when I went and picked it up, I was given the packet of Blisovi. I asked the pharmacist, and he told me this was the same stuff. It’s definitely not the same. I have been so irritable that I’m surprised my family hasn’t disowned me! I have also been so bloated, depressed, and starting to put on weight, and I work out every day! I’m eating healthy too. I also have not been sleeping at night and feel very restless. Yet the next day, I am so tired and end up napping. I don’t even drink caffeine! My husband finally commented on how different I’ve been since starting this new pill. I stopped taking it today and hope I feel better! No pharmacist should ever assume they can just switch you and it’s the same. I’ve never had such a bad experience, and I’ve been on different pills for over 20 years."

For Birth Control "I've gained 14 lbs in under two months since I started this medication. The weight gain increases even with significant diet restrictions that were not necessary prior to taking this medication. I have terrible moods, and also I've started getting acne that also was not there before this medication. It may be wonderful for some women, but for me, it is terrible."

For Birth Control "I am now on my second pack of Blisovi, and it has stopped my period already. My periods personally were so awful and sometimes unbearable. I was on Taytulla, which is a lower dose, both controlled, and it wasn’t doing any good. I switched to this one, and sadly, I’ve gained a little, and anxiety is worse, especially at night. But it has helped with my period, so I’m kinda 50/50 on recommending this pill! But it works differently for everyone!"

For Birth Control "I was having bleeding and cramping issues while on a low-dose hormone pill. My doctor insisted it was because my hormones were not balanced, and she switched me to this full hormone pill. Not only did my symptoms not go away, but now I'm experiencing headaches, nausea, depression, suicidal ideations, GI problems, anxiety, constant bloating, rashes, weight gain, and massive mood swings. This is by far the worst birth control I've ever been on. I'm 36, and I've been through the patch, Paragard, Isobloom, Ortho Tricyclen Low, along with a number of generic versions. I do not recommend this pill."

For Birth Control "I am going on three months on this pill. I didn't take BC for 6 years, then got on this one. I have noticed bad headaches when I am supposed to be on my period week, as well as some weight gain. I am petite and have noticed my boobs go a whole cup size. I also haven't really had a period for two months-just spotting and very light for 2-3 days, not enough to even wear a tampon. I also have noticed bad acne breakouts, I might reconsider this pill."

For Birth Control "I started Blisovi Fe around 2 months ago, and it’s been terrible. I’ve gained 20 lbs, and after reading all of these reviews, I’ve realized it was because of this medication. I’ve been eating healthy and working out for a while, and I’ve only been able to lose 5 lbs when it should be around 10 lbs at this point, knowing my body. I’ve also had way more bad mental health days than usual. I hope this medication works for some people!"

For Birth Control "I’ve been on this for 2ish years. I don’t know much about birth control, but I’ve been wondering if this is the reason I’m having so many issues. My mood is up and down and has been for a while. I’ve gained about 80 lbs in 2 years regardless of what I’ve done to lose weight. I’m going to talk with my doc about it because this is not okay and hasn’t been for a while."

For Birth Control "I’ll say this is not a pill for everybody. I switched to this pill 3 months ago, and I’ve gained 6 pounds already, even though I keep a really good diet. My mood swings more than usual, and little things make me very angry. I feel tired all the time, even after sleeping 8 or 9 hrs. My legs hurt during the day, and my ankles are swollen 24/7. I thought that was my fault for not being active enough, but now that I’m seeing these comments, I know that I’m not alone. Thanks, everybody, for sharing their experience, things make more sense now."
