For Birth Control "For the first couple weeks, I was experiencing nausea, muscle twitches, and dizziness. All of it went away after a while, but then came the anxiety. It’s even worse than usual. The medication is helpful with my cramps, but I don't know if the side effects are worth it."

For Birth Control "I wanted to share my experience after reading so many reviews. I was on NuvaRing for 3 years prior, and I started realizing in the 3rd year that I had gained over 30 lbs and could not get it off for the life of me. I went off of NuvaRing about 6 months ago, and my weight drastically started going down! I am able to control my weight and lose it. Cons of Blisovi Fe 1/20 are that I have spotting in the middle of the month before my period, and it continues into my period. Then I get about a week free of spotting, and that has been since I started. I realized that I was nauseous when I first started. I thought it was from COVID and taking vitamins on an empty stomach, but it was definitely the pill the first 2 months. Now I take the pill in the morning with no nausea. My stomach has been more upset than usual, so maybe that’s a con, I’m not sure. As for sleeping, I could barely get 5 hours of sleep on NuvaRing, and now I can at least get 7 hrs, and I feel a bit more energetic."

For Birth Control "This is the first birth control I was prescribed. For the first month, I was spotting every day. That should have been the first sign that this pill was not compatible with my body. My periods were irregular for months 1-3, they wouldn't come exactly during the placebo week and weren't any lighter than my normal periods when I wasn't on the pill. During month 4, I thought I was pregnant because my boobs hurt so much, and I was cramping and nauseous. This happened for a few weeks, and I was relieved when I later had negative results for pregnancy tests and got my period. But looking back on it, that was very abnormal and probably another indicator of incompatibility. Currently, my skin is acting up, and I'm cramping. So I'm switching pills. The pros are that, as a contraceptive, it did its job, and my boobs grew a little bit. Not a whole cup size, but a noticeable difference. I don't think it noticeably affected my mental health, and I didn't gain a significant amount of weight."

For Birth Control "I started taking Blisovi Fe (5 mg) because my periods are heavy and so painful that I would miss school. Also, I recently had some bad acne, so I thought the pill would help that, but it was mostly for my periods. For maybe two weeks, I had a long period, which did end, but it was slightly alarming. I don't know if this matters, but I am 16 years old and I have slightly high testosterone. After a month of this BC, I experienced every symptom you can read! I've had depression and mood stuff previously, but I would classify it as normal teenage girl feelings. After a month of the pill, I feel like a totally different person. I'm very depressed, anxious, very irritable, easy to make me angry, I am sensitive to heat, it makes me nauseous, I have my own hot flashes, panic attacks, anger out of nowhere, constant hunger which led to weight gain. I have a good diet, and I exercise 4 days out of the week. The only pro is acne is gone, and no period or cramps at all! But emotionally, not worth it."

For Birth Control "I'm 32 and have never been on birth control but decided to give it a try because my periods have always been bad, and recently my ovulation has turned painful too. My gyno prescribed Blisovi Fe, and I started taking the pills the Sunday after my period started. Within 12 hours, I had horrible nausea and vomiting. Then came the anxiety, headache that wouldn't go away, fatigue, and constipation. I felt like I wanted to jump out of my own skin. It made me feel crazy. After 2 pills, I stopped, and now nearly 48 hours later, I still have a headache and horrible fatigue."

For Birth Control "Yeah, it's a no from me on Blisovi. Previously, I was on Junel Fe 1/20 for two years, very little side effects, if any at all. Regular but very light periods with occasional cramping. Worth it, IMO. Switched over (without my knowledge) to Blisovi from my OBGYN and figured I'd give it a go. I'm only a week into it, and I've had 2 panic attacks and have this really awful feeling of general unwellness... like I'm struggling to catch my breath? Not pregnant, negative for COVID, so I'm going to assume it's these pills. Other side effects I experienced were stomach pains, nausea (the most prominent), and fatigue. Just not worth it. May work for some other people out there, but I've already looked into other providers to get me back on Junel. Definitely take the advice 'to each his own.' For me, this pill didn't work like many others, but there are loads of people out there who may find it a great fit."

For Birth Control "I started this pill about a month ago, and three weeks into it, I began experiencing some of the worst side effects I've ever had. I had a headache, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, blurred vision, fatigue, and extreme anxiety, which I have never had before at this excessive level. I called my doctor and then took myself to urgent care, they were talking about diagnoses from complicated migraine up to stroke. I will never take this again, I would definitely look into this pill very thoroughly before taking it."

For Birth Control "At the beginning, it caused a lot of nausea. I would wake up in the middle of the night feeling awful. I'm about 6 months in now, and the nausea has almost disappeared. The only times it comes back are when I don't eat when taking the pill. I never get pimples or acne anymore, and my periods are tolerable. It's protected me really well from pregnancy so far and hope it stays that way!"

For Birth Control "I took this medication for a little over a year. The first month, I was extremely nauseous and had terrible cramps, but they went away. It cleared my acne for a couple of months, but about 6 months in, I had cystic acne all around my mouth and forehead. I also found myself crying for no reason and was extremely moody...especially before and after my period. I would not recommend taking this. The only positive out of it was that it cleared my acne for a short period of time."

For Birth Control "I switched to this birth control from Nortrel due to a dosage change because of another medical condition I have, but I use birth control pills for contraception for me and my boyfriend. We do not use condoms at all unless I'm taking a medication at the moment that interacts with the pill (e.g., antibiotics), and so far, I have not gotten pregnant! I take it every day at 7 a.m. right on the dot, and it makes my periods super light. No issue with acne, the first pill I took of the new pack from switching did make me nauseous (also going from 35 mg of estrogen to 20), but it was over the next day."

For Birth Control "I was on a previous birth control to control my periods, and I loved it. It was the lowest dose possible since it wasn’t for birth control. Apparently, it was discontinued, so they switched me to Blisovi, stating it was the same dose and ingredients. I did not notice a problem until the past year, and I’ve been on Blisovi for about 2. I thought I just got anxiety out of the blue until I did my research, and this caused me to have too many hormones for my body, which caused an imbalance, which caused anxiety. Every pack, within the middle mark, I would start to get nauseous and very sick, then it would be fine. But my hormones around that time were just so high it really messed with my head. I have been on birth control for about 7 years now, and I’m just going to stop it completely to see if my anxiety gets any better. I did not gain weight or get acne, but I did get anxiety."

For Birth Control "Had some nausea, mild anxiety, and breakthrough bleeding for the first 6 weeks, but now I’m doing well. No change to my libido, skin feels a bit clearer, no more bouts of nausea or anxiety. It takes a little while, but I’m fairly pleased with how things turned out. My previous experience with Daysee caused major lethargy, lack of libido, and breakouts, so this is much better!"

For Birth Control "I really gave this a good go, but I could barely stay awake on this. I had a stomach ache on other generic forms of this, and that was tolerable, but not this one. It made me so nauseated I couldn't sleep a couple of the nights. I really wanted to like it, but I ended up requesting the pharmacist to order and switch me to Junel. I had no other side effects besides those two, though. No pregnancy."

For Birth Control "I am on my 6th week. My pharmacy changed me from Gildess, and before it was Junel. I saw my PCP yesterday and was in tears (which is also strange that I can cry on a dime) and feared that my RA meds are killing my stomach and I was going to have to stop treatment due to the side effects. I have tried 2 different RA meds and continued to get sick. My PCP asked me about my BCPs and if there were any changes. A light went off. YES! I am on my 6th week now. My hormones are whacked, I am irritable, and my stomach is in knots every day. I have been taking nausea medication almost daily. My system is a mess between not being able to go to the restroom or going too much. I am calling my mail order pharmacy and my GYN. I must change RX."

For Birth Control "I have been on Blisovi for 6 years and have never had the problems that some of the women below have experienced. I began taking birth control due to my menstrual cramps causing nausea, fainting episodes, and fatigue. Once I began Blisovi, I noticed an immediate change in my cycle. When considering birth control, you have to understand that everyone's body will react differently from others. You just have to use your best judgment, read up on other birth control pills, and listen to your doctor when considering which birth control to take."

For Birth Control "DO NOT TAKE THIS PILL!! I have been on this pill for 2 1/2 weeks because my pharmacy thought it necessary to send me the generic version of the already generic birth control pill my script was written for (Junel). I have gained weight, been bloated, broken out, had anxiety every day, had severe cramping and nausea. The bloating, cramping, and nausea started well before 10 days prior to the due date of my period. I have since called my dr and gotten him to correct the pharmacy's ridiculous requests and am going back on Junel, which IMO was great. I am currently 4 1/2 months pp and am using this as a form of birth control, so I do mind all these unnecessary side effects. Terrible medication."

For Birth Control "Been on the pill for probably around a year. I have noticed gaining weight, but my workout and eating habits definitely factor into that. I do find myself nauseous a lot, but I correlate that to acid reflux and previous anxiety issues. I don’t really see any negative side effects besides feeling irritable and on edge during the placebo week, but it’s helped my periods a ton, and I have clear skin. Definitely try it and see if it works for you!"

For Birth Control "This pill is the worst. My insurance switched me to this generic version, and by only a week in, I was miserable. Breast tenderness, extreme anxiety, moodiness, nausea, achy, fatigue. Do not take it!"

For Birth Control "I started Blisovi Fe 1/20 about 2 1/2 months ago and so far it's... okay? They say to give birth control about 3-4 months so your body can adjust to the hormones, that's what I'm doing. So far, my breasts have been super tender, and I have the occasional period cramps when I'm not even on my period. I don't break out or have any mood swings, but I feel nauseated from time to time. Periods are light and last maybe three days, which is nice, but they seem to come on every three weeks instead of four. I can definitely feel the side effects of taking these pills, so if you don't want side effects, maybe try something else."
