For Birth Control "If you have anxiety/depression, do not take Blisovi Fe 1/20!!! Seriously, I went into horrible mood swings and would constantly be at a low or a high. Irritability was so bad I couldn't be around anyone without going off on them. The boob soreness was constant, and it made me have large amounts of acne. I also found an increased appetite on this and gained a total of 20 pounds! I just recently switched, and my mood has gone back to how I was before.... it's absolutely insane what this did to me. Please take this into consideration as I don't wish this on anyone. Absolutely the worst 6 months. I thought I lost my mind."

For Birth Control "I have bad fibromyalgia, and periods cause flare-ups to the point I cannot function—so my doc told me to take the first 3 weeks of each pack and switch to a new pack (no sugar pills) so I won’t have any periods! So far, I have no headaches, no cramping, cravings, or acne! I might be a tad more irritated, but it’s not like other BCs I’ve tried where it’s full-on rage! I also suffer from anxiety and depression, but with Blisovi, I feel confident and secure in myself! A little bit of sore breasts, but it’s so nice to have my hormones feel balanced and at ease for once! I’ve tried Tri-Lo Sprintec, Lo Loestrin, and a few other low-dose ones this year, and those side effects were just too strange to continue (like nausea and abdominal pain)! I’m very pleased thus far with Blisovi! And here I was about to give up on trying anymore due to months of trial and error."

For Birth Control "I have been on birth control for almost a year now. I originally was prescribed micro estrogen, and for the time I used it, I had no problems. After a while, my insurance company forced me to get my prescription mailed. Once I did, they put me on Blisovi. The first couple of months were fine, although I got acne and gained 10 pounds. As of recent, this pill has triggered my anxiety. I can hardly sleep. My bowel movements are even off. When I read reviews, it finally clicked that it was my birth control. I would never recommend this to anyone."

For Birth Control "Rating of 5 for now, should be getting my first period tomorrow if this works like my Microgestin Fe 1/20 did. Body is still adjusting to this pill. Pros: Sex drive has increased. Every other BCP killed my sex drive. Breasts seem bigger, but maybe that's just me being hopeful. Con: Acne has gotten a bit worse, especially on my arms. I am getting more tiny pustule pimples than I was, but I have also been eating a lot more junk lately. Weight has gone up a couple of pounds, which is okay since I was having trouble gaining weight anyway, but like I said, I haven't been eating too well. No increase in headaches from my normal amount, and no weird mood swings. I take my pill before bed, so I don't notice any nausea. So far, I feel great."

For Birth Control "I'm on my second month of taking Blisovi, and so far, it's going good. I'm 20, almost 21 years old, and this is my first birth control pill. Before taking Blisovi, I would break out all the time, and now I have no zits or nothing! And before taking this, my periods would be really heavy, and I would get really bad cramps. Now my period is actually lighter, but it also makes my period last around 7-8 days, so that's a downside. Another downside I have with this pill was that it made me gain almost 15 pounds. I eat healthy, with the occasional chips every now and then, but wow, you can tell that I've gained weight. But other than those few cons, this pill has been working good for me."

For Birth Control "I got switched onto this medication after taking Depo for 3 years. I have been on it for 5 months, and during the time on this medication, I have got HORRIBLE cystic acne all over my cheek, neck, and chest area. This medication also lowered my sex drive, making me not able to orgasm or even want to have sex with my boyfriend. I also have experienced bad migraines while taking this birth control. I am going to the dermatologist tomorrow and asking them about Tri-Sprintec."

For Birth Control "This is the first birth control I've ever taken. I have had constant side effects of awful acne, cramping, irregular periods, crazy mood swings, and my breasts are constantly sore. I had perfectly clear skin before, and now I have patches of blackheads and whiteheads along my forehead, chin, corners of my mouth, and cheekbones. I have dragged this out for 4 months, hoping my issues would improve, but nothing has. My periods have continually gotten worse. Overall, the only thing this birth control has done is prevent pregnancy, but the benefits most certainly don't outweigh the benefits."

For Birth Control "This pill makes my boobs hurt. Before taking the pill, I never really struggled with acne... Maybe a pimple here and there from time to time, but since starting this pill, I've had constant, painful breakouts that begin under the skin and turn into white pus balls. They are usually around my chin, mouth, nose, and forehead. I have NEVER experienced anything like this. Also having mood swings and depression. I also struggled with nausea the first month but was able to fix that by taking the pill at night instead. I'm going to look for another pill that doesn't cause acne."

"I've been taking this birth control for about 4 months now, but I already want to switch. My main reason for taking birth control was to help regulate my period and lessen the extreme PMS symptoms I get (acne, super painful cramps, mood swings, etc.). Although my period is now regulated, I still experience all the PMS symptoms I had before, and they feel worse. I have mood swings where I'm left crying in my bed for hours and acne that covers my forehead and cheeks every time I'm nearing my period. Although I can't speak on whether or not this works as birth control, I don't think this pill is worth it at all."

For Birth Control "I was very skeptical because of the negative reviews about this birth control. I’ll start by saying I have PCOS. Really bad periods since I got my period at age 13. I have bad PMS during ovulation/before my period. I’ve had a miscarriage, and then when I got pregnant, I had a c-section 4 years ago. Never been on birth control before, just suffered through all of this. I got cysts that are so painful I couldn’t walk. My periods were heavy and horrendous. I decided to try this birth control, and it literally changed my life. I have no acne anymore, I lost 15 pounds. (I went on every diet you can think of to lose weight, and just eating a cookie made me gain 3 pounds before this birth control.) I'm not bloated anymore, I don’t have mood swings anymore, and my periods are much lighter. I do cramp still, but not even close to being doubled over like before. My only regret is taking it sooner. If you have PCOS and want relief, try it. It might change your life too. :)"

For Birth Control "This is absolutely the worst birth control for me. I was on Lo Loestrin for about 4 years before I was forced to switch to Blisovi because my insurance would only cover this one. I was told this was the generic version of Lo Loestrin and that it would essentially be the same, but it's definitely not. I've been on it for 2 months and so far I have gained weight (not a ton but a little), gotten acne whereas my skin was very clear while on Lo Loestrin, had an increase in appetite, have had really bad anxiety, have not been able to sleep, and I've gotten my period 2 times within 1 month. Also, when I get my period it's really long and really heavy. Overall, this birth control has made me want to stop using birth control in general. I do want to just say also that birth control definitely affects everyone differently, so if you have the option, give it a try, but listen to your body and switch off of it if you feel that it's negatively affecting your physical/mental state."

For Birth Control "I’ve been taking this for almost a month now, and I think my side effects are beginning to kick in. My acne has gotten much worse. I went from no active pimples to six painful cystic ones overnight. I’ve been having a lot of trouble sleeping, restless really, and have been getting headaches. This is all I have so far, but I figure I’d share because I read this thread prior to even starting the pill."

For Birth Control "This birth control could not be worse. I bled for an entire 2 months and would randomly get gushes of blood that would soak through to my pants. Also, my face broke out like crazy! Do not take this BC!"

For Birth Control "I was switched to Blisovi after taking Taytulla since my insurance stopped covering that brand. Although I’m told the formula is the same, my reaction was not. I was tired and very emotional. What forced me to write this review, however, was the back acne it caused along with hormonal acne under my chin. I have very sensitive dry skin, and all of a sudden my skin was oily and breaking out. I tried every trick in the book to get rid of it until switching birth controls was the last resort. Within 10 days, my skin was back to normal and my back was completely clear like before. So if you’re having skin issues, consider that it might be this brand and switch. Everyone told me how unlikely it was, and I’m glad I listened to my instincts."

For Birth Control "I stopped taking birth control for 8 years and was prescribed this medicine for heavy periods. Within a few days of taking this medicine, I noticed really bad headaches and acne, which I normally don't have. This medicine made me feel funny in the head. Not worth it. I'd rather suffer with heavy periods."

For Birth Control "I was taking both Junel Fe and Microgestin Fe, depending on which pharmacy I was closest to, for over a year. I never had any problems with them. In fact, they made my skin clear and made my periods extremely light and less painful. When my insurance changed my pharmacy, I was given Blisovi Fe. Off the bat, I noticed changes I didn’t like. I was feeling anxious all the time for no apparent reason. My skin was breaking out. I began feeling really depressed and getting bad headaches. I also have nightmares almost every night now, which may or may not be caused by Blisovi. My placebo week period was heavy and painful. There have been no substantial changes in my lifestyle or product choices that would explain these changes. They all began when I started Blisovi. It’s the only explanation that makes sense, since I take no other meds and, as stated, have not undergone any lifestyle changes. I gave Blisovi a 2-month trial, and it didn’t work out. At least I didn’t get pregnant on it."

For Birth Control "I have been taking birth control for about 15 years. Started with Microgestin for a while, had little to no side effects while taking that. I was able to maintain my weight and also lose weight when I was trying. About 4 mo. ago, I picked up my prescription to see that it was now Blisovi. I began my cycle of the pill and a few weeks in, I gained about 8 lbs. My lower abdomen was rock hard (like I was pregnant), I had constant fatigue and brain fog, and not to mention; I started to get acne! (I have never had skin issues before in my life!). I was even having terrible migraines and joint pain. I am a teacher and a Zumba instructor by night, so I’m very active, also taking weight loss pills and still gained so much weight because I couldn’t stop eating! I finally realized that I should check into the reviews of the product. For three months I could not figure out what was wrong with me. I was getting so depressed because of the side effects. I called my OBGYN and requested a new pill."

For Birth Control "Steer clear of this medication! I'd rather go without birth control altogether than deal with the acne that this medicine gave me. I am in my late 20s, and my breakouts are worse than they've ever been in my entire life. Not just my face, but my chest and back are covered as well. Tiny red bumps as if I am 14 years old and not washing my face. There are so many other options out there! I went back to my doctor and asked to go back to drospirenone ASAP."

For Birth Control "Since being on this pill, I've had my period nonstop, skin breakouts, and mind-numbing headaches whenever close to orgasm. Thanks for nothing. I wouldn't even trust this to keep me from getting pregnant for another month and am switching immediately. Hey: STOP selling this!"

For Birth Control "After reading all these comments, I was very surprised because I actually have had a pretty good experience and no problems. I’ve been on it for a year and a half, and it’s regulated my periods to a certain day, gives me a light period, and most of all, it works every time. Even if in some cases I missed one and had to double up the next day or I’m taking a pill 2 hours late, it always works. I never really got side effects like acne, and I have gained weight, but I feel like that’s probably just me."

For Birth Control "Prior to starting this, I had fairly good skin, maybe one pimple, if that. After being on this birth control for two weeks, my face is broken out so, so bad. I also have acne on my back, which I have never had before. I did not change my diet or face cleanser, makeup, anything like that. This birth control ruined my skin, so PLEASE DO NOT USE IT!"

For Birth Control "Took Blisovi Fe 1/20 for a month after switching from Lo Loestrin, it’s not bad, other than the fact that I’ve never had a pimple before taking this medication, and now I have random cystic pimples all over my face. No weight gain or change in mood, just awful, painful acne. Won’t be taking it anymore."

For Birth Control "Awful. Gained 7 pounds in 6 weeks, and I’m not a person who gains a ton of weight real easy. I have had the worst acne I have ever had, very swollen all over my body. Night sweats, weird dreams, bloating, low libido. Horrible, horrible, horrible."
