For Birth Control "I never write reviews for anything, but I felt like I needed to write a review for this, to help others make the decision to STOP taking this birth control (and BC in general). While on this BC, I experienced mood swings, anxiety, weight gain, migraines, dizziness, nausea, acne flare-ups, and I even fainted while on this and ended up in the ER. So I decided to stop taking this BC, and after stopping it (it's been 7 months off it now), I still don't have a regular cycle (I have not had my period in 2 months). I developed pill-induced PCOS. BC pills stop ovarian function, and the bleeding you get every month on BC is NOT a real menstrual cycle. BC stops ovulation, so when you come off the pill, your body sometimes takes a while to ovulate on its own again. I really hope this post was able to educate those who did not know how bad birth control is for your body. Please do yourself a favor and don't take this!"

For Birth Control "This is terrible birth control. I take this for ovarian cysts, but I think my cyst ruptures are less painful than the period cramps I get when taking this. Makes my periods way longer than what they were before. I feel like my hair is thinning, and I have the worst mood swings possible."

For Birth Control "So I went to my OB-GYN back in September 2018 to get on birth control, as I had gotten a boyfriend and didn't want to get pregnant. I’ve been taking it ever since then, and I’ve gained at least 25 pounds! I also had never really noticed any anxiety or extreme mood swings until I started this BC! I freak out over little things, I have major anxiety attacks and crying outbursts, especially around or on my period. I have yet to go back to my OB-GYN to talk about it or change it. The only thing it’s done so far is keep me not pregnant. I still would not recommend."

For Birth Control "I started taking this birth control in June 2019 to help with my severe cramps and heavy periods. For the first few months, the only side effects I experienced were breast tenderness, and I was very emotional, but it was tolerable. It definitely helped with my periods. After 4 months of being on this pill, the side effects got way worse. For the last two months, my anxiety and depression spiked like crazy. I woke up in the middle of EVERY night with horrible anxiety and couldn’t fall back asleep. It got so bad to the point that I went to the hospital, thinking something was physically wrong with me. I also haven’t gotten my period for the past two months, which was a little weird. Reading these reviews, now I understand. I stopped taking the pill for about 3 weeks now, and I do sometimes get nauseous, but my mental health has definitely improved. I feel much better and can’t wait for everything to be back to normal. I will definitely try a different brand of birth control soon."

For Birth Control "Started this one 3 months ago when my insurance stopped covering Minastrin, I believe was the name of it. Anyway, I haven't had my period since! I get slightly hormonal with mood swings and depression. Best thing is I was on a different pill before this one, which caused me to have my period 2x a month! This is crazy! I have a horrible breakout of pimples now too. Going to switch to something else ASAP!"

For Birth Control "I used to take Microgestin and never had any side effects, but my doctor switched me to this pill and I hate it. I am a happy person, and I have never had so many mood swings in my life. I feel anxious all the time, and I had never gotten migraines until I started taking this pill. I am quick to get mad, and I don't feel like myself. My periods are super light, which is nice, but I am always 2 days late when on this pill... I am going back to the doctor to switch back to Microgestin."

For Birth Control "I felt like I needed to post my experience due to the amount of bad reviews of this medication. I started this birth control in hopes of reducing the heavy, constant bleeding PCOS has given me. The first month was tough, the first few days were worse. I was constantly nauseated, exhausted, mood swings, and I couldn’t concentrate. I had most symptoms like most women complain of. I toughed it out and kept taking it. After the first month, every one of these symptoms subsided along with the bleeding. I am finally feeling normal again. Every birth control has its pros and cons. I don’t regret taking this medicine, and I will admit the first month on Blisovi 24 was extremely difficult. I stopped attending college and laid in bed most of the day. This isn’t my forever birth control as I’m switching to the IUD soon because I’m tired of taking daily pills. Don’t give up, ladies!"

For Birth Control "I have been on this for three months now. I had headaches the first two weeks, but those went away. Made me break out at first, but cleared up after just over two months. I did notice mood swings which have progressively gotten worse, and I have said and done things that I would not normally say or do. However, it is manageable. My confidence has plummeted and I have gained 12 pounds. My appetite has definitely increased. I am very active and have always been lean and able to eat whatever I want, but even with dieting and rigorous exercise, I can’t seem to lose any of the weight I’ve gained. My experience hasn’t been terrible, and most of the adverse side effects are easy to live with (other than my insatiable appetite!). My skin is slightly clearer, but much larger, and periods are shorter and lighter, although PMS and cramping aren’t any better."

For Birth Control "Absolutely horrible!! Between my periods, I was alright, but I noticed my memory became a lot foggier, and I spaced out way more often. On my periods, though, it was a living hell. I often had breakdowns, and my mood swings were insane. I even went into a psychosis episode because of this pill, and I immediately dropped it."

For Birth Control "Started this pill after I was done breastfeeding my youngest. Haven’t had a period since! It’s been almost a year of not having a period, and that is something I’ve always wanted! There have been a few minor mood swings, but nothing I couldn’t control, which could’ve been other stress in my life anyway."

For Birth Control "I've only been on Blisovi for 3 weeks but am liking it so far. I previously took Monoliny/Sprintec with the intention to make my period symptoms more bearable. It was a nightmare and I was terrified to try a new birth control like Blisovi after how unpleasant my previous experience was. I was actually pleasantly surprised! My nausea now is minimal, mood swings and anxiety a little more manageable, and my depression a bit lighter. My appetite has actually decreased instead of increased. As I said, it's only been 3 weeks but they've been just fine. My only complaint so far is some dryness. It doesn't give me a sour smell like my previous birth control but sometimes the dryness is uncomfortable. Some days are worse than others. I never needed lube during sex until now, but I suppose that's a small price to pay so long as it doesn't get worse. It's just because it's a low estrogen dosage, which can cause dryness, so be aware!"

For Birth Control "I know birth controls affect everyone very differently, so I can only share my personal experiences with Blisovi 24 Fe. :) This is the only birth control prescription I've used so far, and I've had zero negative side effects! My periods are a lot shorter and significantly lighter than they used to be before birth control. I haven't had any breakouts, mood swings, or depression on this prescription. I've loved it so far! Truly. Unfortunately, my new health insurance doesn't cover 24 Fe, so I'm going to switch to Blisovi Fe 1/20 in its place, and I'm hoping for similar results."

For Birth Control "Bad! Bad! I wouldn’t recommend, I had severe mood swings and was nervous all the time. My stomach was bloated all the time while on it. This pill made me feel like I was disconnected from the world. It always made my period have clots as well, and that never happened before until I got on this pill. I didn’t gain weight, which is fine. I also noticed I had really bad back pain, and this pill caused a yeast infection!"

For Birth Control "My pharmacist auto-refilled to this generic version. I was spotting in between periods and an emotional mess. This is one of the worst BCPs!"
