Dupixent (dupilumab) for Eczema "I did the study for this drug, all 3 phases, and have been on it since 2015. I never dreamed it would actually work. It works amazingly. I had to stop for the transition once the FDA approved this, and oh my God, I wake up all hours of the night itching, I get hot and itch. I am finally taking it again. I can't imagine my life without this stuff."

Dupixent (dupilumab) for Atopic Dermatitis "I started Dupixent in September 2019, it is now February 2020. I am 24 and have had severe atopic dermatitis my entire life. For the first 3 or 4 injections, this medication was a miracle, I was normal, no more shower routines, bed routines, or creams. However, I began to develop large red blemishes around my neck and on my face. At first, they did not itch, then a week later, it was like my condition came back but twice as bad. The weather also got very dry and cold at this time, so at first, I wasn’t sure if it was the weather or the medicine. Now, 2 months later, my bad condition still persists, and I have developed seborrheic dermatitis, which I’ve never had before. I feel the medication is to blame for this, and I will be discontinuing Dupixent. Also, the hotline is terrible, and trying to actually talk to somebody about this drug and its effects is almost impossible. This forum is the best source of info I’ve found."

Dupixent (dupilumab) for Atopic Dermatitis "37, male, Asian, suffered from atopic dermatitis for 20 yrs. I took Dupixent over 6 months and having trouble now. I felt my atopic problem went away for the first 2 months (I took 3 shots for the 1st month and 2 shots from the 2nd month). As noticed side effect, my eyes got dry and itchy, which is still bearable. What I think is a problem for now is the red skin syndrome. This started around the eyes and now spread under the neck-now to shoulder. The red spots make white skin flake and hurt when the flake is removed and look wrinkled. Now I'm considering stopping this medication and returning to other treatments."

Dupixent (dupilumab) for Chronic Rhinosinusitis With Nasal Polyps "I have been dealing with nasal polyps for the past 4 years. I have had surgery 3 times, and ever since my allergist prescribed Dupixent in the fall of 2018, I have not needed another surgery or even a dose of oral steroids. Dupixent has done a tremendous job at keeping my nasal polyps at bay. I have not had any noticeable side effects and am very happy with the results of my prescription. 22-year-old male."

Dupixent (dupilumab) for Atopic Dermatitis "I have been taking the medication for a year now, and what can I say but WOW. At first, I didn't know how to feel, but to know it only took two weeks for my skin to clean up. I am super happy with this medication and whomever thought of this. And I was only out of pocket $0.00!!!!"

Dupixent (dupilumab) for Eczema "One week after the initial dose of Dupixent for eczema, I started having what the ER doc called 'serum sickness.' Itchy rash over the entire body and extremities, ears swollen, red, and hot. I was put on a high dose of prednisone for 1 week, which obviously helped the reaction as well as the eczema. Two days after finishing the steroid, the rash and eczema came back. Not sure how long Dupixent stays in your system, but I am miserable! Obviously not taking another dose. So disappointing, as I was praying for a cure!"

Dupixent (dupilumab) for Eczema "Absolutely life-changing! My son’s skin was painful, infected, and he literally could barely move or walk, much less have a normal life. After less than a year on Dupixent, he has his life back and can attend school and do normal physical activities. Bless the doctors who worked to develop this. It is amazing for sufferers of the severest form of disfiguring eczema that debilitated my son’s mind and body. ❤️"

Dupixent (dupilumab) for Eczema "My teenage daughter has been dealing with eczema all her life. Inside her arms, back of her legs, and on her neck were the worst and main areas of her flare-ups. She’d scratch herself until she bled and scarred. We’ve tried all topical creams, over-the-counter types, lotions, soaps, bleach baths, and more. Nothing worked. After one injection of Dupixent, there was a significant improvement. Now, after applying her third injection, her skin is normal again, even during the hot summer season. I highly recommend this treatment as it is the only thing that has ever worked for my child. If you can get over doing the injections, then this will change your life."

Dupixent (dupilumab) for Atopic Dermatitis "My baby brother died in February, and I went from being a pretty healthy person to having pus ooze from my head, feet, toes, arms, knees, and ankles encrusted, bleeding, and my right hand so cracked up I could barely use it. Staph infection, kidney stones, etc., etc. Ready to end my journey because I had always had a quality of life. Turned 60 in November. Now I have been on Dupixent for a month, my second shot, and my body is clearing up. No cracks in my hands. I'm a little scared, but I'm willing to see what will happen to my body on the drug. I can't imagine living with this for years... I just can't imagine it. A co-worker (who has the same) and I discussed whether the idea of getting some ailment from taking the drug to living with the eczema. Hands down... give me the drug. Life is to be lived... my family needs to see me back. I am getting there, I hope. Prayers for everyone's journey!!"

Dupixent (dupilumab) for Eczema "I’m 25 years old. I have had severe eczema since I was 18 months old. I was placed in multiple studies for new medications when they came out (ex. Protopic), which worked for a couple of years and then I built a tolerance and my skin got worse. Off and on steroids pretty much every month. I tried Dupixent for about 4 months, late 2017-2018. It cleared my skin completely, no restless nights, no scratching, no bleeding. It was perfect!! Until my eyes started flaring up. I don’t have perfect vision anymore, and the doctor suggested I get off the medicine in order to save my sight. I’ve been off of this medicine for about a year and a half. My skin is much worse now, and I'm contemplating going back on this medicine but staying in close contact with my eye doctor. I’m losing sleep again due to scratching and always exhausted. My skin is miserable and hurts to the touch, so I think it might be worth trying again."

Dupixent (dupilumab) for Prurigo Nodularis "Don’t touch this drug!! I've had both my ankles extremely damaged by this drug. I’ve had 2 surgery’s in last 3 months 1 on my right ankle and a torn cartilage on my right knee. And last week I had an MRI and it shows I’ve degenerative disc disease in my neck. I can no longer walk on my feet the damage is that bad. I’ve gone from never having any problems with my joints and never fallen to being in a wheelchair. I’ll see Dupixent in the law courts"

Dupixent (dupilumab) for Eczema "I have had severe eczema for about 7 years. Finally, I tried most everything and decided to try Dupixent. I had great success with it and also a significant problem. About 2 and 1/2 months in, I developed pain in my eye. I went to the doctor, and I have herpes simplex 1 in my eye. I have been off Dupixent, and I’m on several medications for the herpes in my eye for over a month and still have it. It also had gone into the underlying cornea, not just the surface. Two months ago, I stopped taking Dupixent. It really helped my skin - felt like a miracle - but at what cost? I don’t think I can risk my eye, but I have to tell you I am upset because I know Dupixent is a treatment, not a cure, and my eczema will come back. I feel even worse because I have to get off a drug that was really helping me. (I’m on Medicare, and I still have to pay almost $6,500 annually.)"

Dupixent (dupilumab) for Asthma, Maintenance "Lifelong asthma sufferer. It is not at all well controlled unless I take loads of steroid shots. I started Dupixent just about 2 months ago. It does seem to help my asthma quite a bit. However, after about 6 weeks, I started getting itchiness on my chest and now has spread to my whole upper torso. It is pretty intense itching, without any rash at least so far. I have trouble sleeping, and topical steroid just seems to tick it off. I am torn between the itching and improvement in the asthma. I wonder if the itching will subside over time or if I should just cut Dupixent now."

Dupixent (dupilumab) for Atopic Dermatitis "I started this Dupixent in May 2019. Took a while to kick in, maybe August I noticed improvement. Fast forward to now, Oct 2019, I have been having horrible side effects for 3 weeks. I even had an MRI because I thought my circulation wasn't working properly. I have tachycardia, chest pain, shortness of breath, and pins and needles. I want this out of my system. I thought this would be a lifesaving medication. It is not now."

Dupixent (dupilumab) for Asthma, Maintenance "I use it for asthma and constant hives. Using these shots helps so much. When I don't take it every 2 weeks, I am constantly breaking out and on a breathing machine to get functional lung movement. Yes, I still have hives and asthma symptoms with the shot, but I have them very rarely."

Dupixent (dupilumab) for Eczema "I’ve had eczema since I was tiny, and as I got older it just got worse. The hospital tried everything to make it better, such as light therapy, azathioprine, and other similar tablets, and they would improve me slightly for maybe 2 months, then back to the usual dryness and itching. Then finally, my consultant put me in touch with a company that does Dupixent, and it has transformed me. I can now just go to bed and go to sleep rather than 30 mins cream, 30 mins scratch, then sleep. I don’t have to hoover 2-3 times a day. I don’t have to carry creams everywhere I go. I can't recommend this enough to anyone with eczema! Injections were daunting for me, but no problems after being shown how to do it. I would say it generally isn’t painful, more uncomfortable, but it’s 100% worth it. The only reason it isn't a 10 is the side effects (itchy/watery eyes) can be infuriating, though the itch is only 1/10th of what my eczema caused me, so I’m happy with that trade."

Dupixent (dupilumab) for Chronic Rhinosinusitis With Nasal Polyps "This drug absolutely changed my quality of life. I started to get chronic sinus infections 4 times a year when I was 15. After a surgery, about 5 courses of oral steroids every single year with no cure in sight, my doctor finally suggested I start with Dupixent. After 4 injections, my ENT scoped me and was in shock. She told me I was the healthiest she has ever seen me in 7 years and I had a dramatic change in my sinuses. I cannot be more thankful for this medicine. As a 22-year-old woman, my health issues were dominating my life. To feel them become a non-issue is an amazing feeling!!!!"

Dupixent (dupilumab) for Chronic Rhinosinusitis With Nasal Polyps "After 4 sinus surgeries in 8 years and numerous rounds of steroids and antibiotics for terrible sinus misery, I was happy to try Dupixent. I started noticing a change for the better with my sinuses after the third 300 mg injection. Unfortunately, I started having muscle/joint aches, stomach soreness, and eyelash loss in May. Stopped it in June and then restarted in September, since my sinus symptoms had returned and my ENT thought I should retry. Once again, I felt so much better sinus-wise, but the side effects did return. I’m still taking Dupixent but deciding what to do. I’m wondering if the side effects will eventually go away the longer I stay on it. I can say it has definitely helped my sinuses, but the rest of my body is taking a hit so I’m disappointed in that respect. For those of you on the fence about it, it’s definitely worth trying for your sinus disease but just hope you don’t get any of the possible side effects. You may not!"

Dupixent (dupilumab) for Eczema "The medication started working within the first month. I noticed a significant reduction in my eczema, unless I drink a lot of alcohol. I am on month 5, and I am starting to have issues breathing. I am not sure if the medication is giving me anxiety (I'm not an anxious person). I also developed a stye for the first time. I will occasionally get numbness in my feet. The breathing has become such an issue that I do not think it is worth taking the medication."

Dupixent (dupilumab) for Eczema "I have received 3 injections and call it a lifesaver and miracle drug for me. My situation is a little different from most because my eczema was a result of stress. I never had it before until after the death of my brother, and then, 3 years later, it reoccurred after the death of my mother. I called it my living nightmare. No quality of life and had no sleep; cried due to nothing working, tried everything! I was awake most of the night and stood in front of my freezer door and would sit next to the fireplace in the middle of the night and then go to my garage and use my light. I could hardly wear any clothing and was confined to my house. Needless to say, eczema affected the quality of my life, and life was just too hard living in constant misery. It works great for me. I don’t want to stay on it long if I don’t have to. Mine was situational. I am very thankful to see results like I have. It has given me my life back!"

Dupixent (dupilumab) for Eczema "I just wanted to say that you need to give the Dupixent the full 16 weeks. I almost stopped. At the beginning, my head was so hot I started buying new pillows. My face turned pink. The itch subsided pretty quickly, then the body. Face and head took longer. I had a flare on my wrist that I tried to get rid of for 3 years! That is now a lot better at 16 weeks with spot treating. I still use a bit of Scalpicin once in a while. But the Dupixent definitely takes the edge off. I find if you just place the needle, it slips in by itself. You don’t have to stab yourself. Good luck."

Dupixent (dupilumab) for Eczema "My first few doses were helping a lot, taking the itch away and clearing my skin. My 4th dose made my eyes very red, my dermatologist referred me to an ophthalmologist to check the pressure in my eyes. Pressure was okay, only some inflammation in the whites of my eyes. So I continued the Dupixent injections, red eyes and all, then I started getting small, red, pimple-like spots on my face along with redness. When my joints started aching after the 6th dose, I stopped Dupixent. It has been approximately 2 months, and the redness on my face is finally going away, my eyes cleared right after stopping Dupixent. I seem to think the dose was too strong for me. But there’s only 1 strength. I’m still itching and having breakouts and don’t know what to do at this point as nothing seems to work."

Dupixent (dupilumab) for Atopic Dermatitis "I received the loading dose of Dupixent on 11/15/19. On 11/19/19, I developed intense (full body) pruritus, urticaria, and a 'drug reaction' appearing rash. This is on top of my flared atopic dermatitis state. The itching and rash appearance are unbearable. I have been absolutely miserable with this discomfort. I am now on a 2-week prednisone taper, a 5th high potency topical steroid cream, routine prednisone, and both an H1 and H2 blocker in attempts to combat this reaction. I am eagerly awaiting the Dupixent medication to rid my system, however, all the information that I have read indicates that the half-life is unknown. I pray that no other adverse reactions present themselves in the meantime."
