Dupilumab for Asthma, Maintenance "I had multiple severe side effects from the first dose two weeks ago. I got flu-like symptoms for 48 hours: hot flashes/sweating, headache, felt feverish, and felt quite fatigued. My heart was racing for over two days after the shots. I already suffer from recurrent UTIs, and right after the Dupixent, I got a terrible increase in bladder pain that I’m still suffering with. I have been extremely depressed because of the bladder pain and having to pee every half hour. I have a rash in the two spots where I was injected with Dupixent. My eyes were red and extremely dry and irritated the first two days after the shots; now they are slightly red and very dry and gritty. My asthma and allergies seemed to clear up right away but have returned less than two weeks after the shot. No way I’m taking this again."

Dupilumab for Eczema "One week after the initial dose of Dupixent for eczema, I started having what the ER doc called 'serum sickness.' Itchy rash over the entire body and extremities, ears swollen, red, and hot. I was put on a high dose of prednisone for 1 week, which obviously helped the reaction as well as the eczema. Two days after finishing the steroid, the rash and eczema came back. Not sure how long Dupixent stays in your system, but I am miserable! Obviously not taking another dose. So disappointing, as I was praying for a cure!"

Dupilumab for Asthma, Maintenance "I use it for asthma and constant hives. Using these shots helps so much. When I don't take it every 2 weeks, I am constantly breaking out and on a breathing machine to get functional lung movement. Yes, I still have hives and asthma symptoms with the shot, but I have them very rarely."

Dupilumab for Atopic Dermatitis "I received the loading dose of Dupixent on 11/15/19. On 11/19/19, I developed intense (full body) pruritus, urticaria, and a 'drug reaction' appearing rash. This is on top of my flared atopic dermatitis state. The itching and rash appearance are unbearable. I have been absolutely miserable with this discomfort. I am now on a 2-week prednisone taper, a 5th high potency topical steroid cream, routine prednisone, and both an H1 and H2 blocker in attempts to combat this reaction. I am eagerly awaiting the Dupixent medication to rid my system, however, all the information that I have read indicates that the half-life is unknown. I pray that no other adverse reactions present themselves in the meantime."

Dupilumab for Prurigo Nodularis "I was diagnosed with prurigo nodularis recently, and after my doctor tried all options and nothing worked, he had me try Dupixent. I was hopeful and have been on the shots for 3 months. I have seen some improvement with it clearing, or it tends to clear quicker than before, but after each injection, I started noticing different things such as my nose would bleed, which has never happened, which led to serious inflammation and scabs inside my nose, continuously stuffy as if I have a cold. I was tired shortly after my injection, and the following day, I've had constant headaches, itchy, scratchy eyes. I developed a rash on the behind that was extremely painful and odd, and I've had a lot of muscle aches and generally don't feel good at all. Dupixent is not for me, and I have stopped treatment."

Dupilumab for Atopic Dermatitis "Definitely wasn’t what I was hoping for. Have seen skin about 25-30% clearer. Extremely dry face, about the same as before. I still get rashes on my back off and on. Neck is still inflamed regularly. Been on for about 8 months now. Have a flare-up right before the shot, and it never seems to take effect for at least 2 days after. I will clear up slightly for a few days, then I will go back to a whole body rash. Itching hasn’t been relieved much at all. It’s an okay alternative to other drugs and worth the attempt, but it doesn’t work great for me. Wish everyone luck."

Dupilumab for Eczema "I received my 1st injection of Dupixent. I developed itchy eyelids. Three days later, I had a red rash on one of my arms. That went away. The eczema itch really hasn't changed any. In fact, the eczema looks worse, I am not that impressed with this drug. This is rather disappointing."

Dupilumab for Eczema "Super annoyed. Hives stopped. Rashes 90% clear two months in. I actually started to think I was going to get my life back. Then my eyes started being attacked - itching, burning red eye, puffy/swollen eyelids, swollen cornea. I’m miserable, and I have to stop. It’s really a terrible choice between eyes of fire and hives/rashes."

Dupilumab for Atopic Dermatitis "After the 2nd Dupixent injection, broke out in a rash on legs and small patches on the body. Also, red blotches and skin very hot. My skin doctor took one look and had never seen a reaction this bad, so I discontinued Dupixent immediately. Had high hopes, but Dupixent didn’t work for me. Hopefully, other people will have better results, worth trying to control dermatitis."

Dupilumab for Eczema "DO NOT TAKE DUPIXENT! I was fine for the first few months. I then ended up with blepharitis (severely itchy eyelids), a terrible bright red patchy rash with white heads on my face that has only almost disappeared after six months, and then significant hair loss in two places in the back of my head. If you do an internet search for people with these symptoms. The photos are terrible and exactly what I experienced. Hope my hair grows back... If I could give this med a minus rating, I would."

Dupilumab for Atopic Dermatitis "I’ve been taking Dupixent a little over one month now, and it’s already improving my life. 3-4 days in, I already felt less reactive. 2 weeks in, my hives were gone, and my scalp and back were clear. 3 weeks in, my skin feels soft again in most places, and my hands are significantly less reactive (one of my worst spots). 4 weeks in, I have some facial dryness, one spot on my chest, and still a little reactive spots on my hands (no longer itching me to death). Can’t wait to see what two more months does. I am so thankful for this medicine. It’s a life-changing experience. I’ve suffered severely the last 5 years, as well as my childhood. So pleased to know that I may not have to live in daily misery."

Dupilumab for Atopic Dermatitis "Have been using this for the past 3 months now, and I am a bit disappointed as I am not feeling as good as when I was on cyclosporine. After a few doses, my dermatitis was out of control and everywhere in places I never had dermatitis before. I had to stop my allergy shots since I was feeling that my immune system was too much affected all at once. Now it is after 6 doses, and it is just starting to calm down. But again, I am not seeing any positive results like when I was on cyclosporine. Does anyone have the same feeling? Results? I am really looking to stop it and get back on cyclosporine. Any comments?"

Dupilumab for Eczema "I have had eczema since birth. I am now 68 years old. My dermatologist told me about wonderful results that had been achieved with this drug, and that the chance of side effects would be minimal. I was desperate to escape the topical steroid treatment, and so after a year, I cautiously moved forward. Within four months, my skin was clear, and I was free from chronic itching and rash. It was like a miracle. Then, 6 to 7 months into treatment with Dupixent, I experienced a sudden visual loss. I was hospitalized and had diagnostic testing. No significant findings, just told to discontinue Dupixent. It has been 4 months since stopping it. I was out of work for 3 months adjusting to this life-altering event. My left eye is still blind. My eyes stick together, and I use lubricant constantly. Recently, I was finally able to get some glasses that help my good eye. But everything is still hazy. I guess this is a long-term visual effect of the drug. That's the risk you take. So much for miracles."

Dupilumab for Eczema "My first dose was in December. I had a really bad rash and hives within 24 hours that lasted about a week, 10 days. I also had some wheezing. However, my hand eczema (which was crippling and raw) started to clear up almost immediately. It remained clear for almost three months, so I didn't take the second dose until March. I had no side effects after the second dose. Hand eczema is 90% clear. I just took a dose today (one month from last). I hope this continues to work for me."

Dupilumab for Eczema "Age 30 - tried Dupixent for 3 months, 2 shots a month. Was essentially sick the entire time with a stinging, peeling, painful needle-feeling rash, getting rashes in places I never had before, was losing hair by the handful. Did help with body eczema a bit, but not worth the intense pain. I looked and felt like a burn victim. It was sort of a cycle - I would take the shot and be extremely sick for about twelve days, then have 2 somewhat okay days before I had to take the shot again. The only relief I ever felt was near the end of the cycle and when I stopped altogether. My quality of life and my mental health were in the toilet. The side effects were so bad it started to affect my job. Tried treating for fungal and demodex to see if it would help, and it never did. The rash was like a raised, red, hard-bordered rash that went down to my shoulders. Not as painful as the three years I did TSW, but I was younger then and that was 3 years long. Dupixent was just as painful for a shorter amount of time."

Dupilumab for Eczema "1) Take only if you have a real medical team: 2) Joint pain - severe 3) Rash - severe 4) No check-in for parasites (you must have a team) not what most of us get in the USA's medical system 5) You need to study up on normal means of relating to the pathology: diet, exercise, use of hot springs, sauna, steam room, tea tree oil, Skin SMART, saline solution, use of chlorine, more -- but again you need a medical team, not one person paid out of pocket or things like that."

I still am not impressed with this medication. I was hoping that this would help me. I really doubt that this medication is going to. I feel like I am going to be stuck with this."

For Atopic Dermatitis "300 mg injected every two weeks. Reasonably good in suppressing severe eczema itching and rash but needs supplementing with topical steroid. Causes difficult side effect in the form of facial flush and rash for roughly three to four days a fortnight. Also causes bumps on face and neck. The pre-treatment condition was debilitating. With treatment, life is hugely better - though if the side effects get persistently worse, I would reconsider."

For Eczema "Changed my life, have atopic eczema all my life and chronic rhinitis, had sinus infection after infection. UVB therapy helped but was very hard to get back into finding a place and very demanding if you work full-time. I know I see a dermatologist once every 6 months and it costs $220, but it is worth it. Had to change 2 careers over my illnesses. So, it's worth every cent. I recommend it to anyone that is suffering. I am 43 and started treatment in April 2022. They have it on the Medicare PBS here in Australia and it is affordable at $32 a month. Side effects for me are a rash at times on my eyelids. The dermatologist did give me a cream that started with a T, very strong. It was too strong, so I was recommended to use Dermaid cream, not the ointment. It works really well. It changed my life immensely with my illnesses creating anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues, especially growing up (bullied at school), employability, enjoying outdoors like gardening, can do mowing without repercussions, cooking."

For Eczema "Was prescribed this medication as a last resort after other biologics such as methotrexate had failed to greatly improve the condition. The loading dose felt like literal fire being injected into my skin, and within an hour of the dose, I was experiencing hives and nausea. I was convinced to proceed with the 12-week period to see if any effects would yield for my eczema, but my condition saw no improvement. Pain persisted with each dose upon injection, and I have stopped taking the medication for this reason. I also experienced deterioration in my vision and changes to my menstrual cycle after the short time I took this medication. Bottom line - avoid this drug if you can."
