Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Birth Control "My history with birth control: 1998 - Ortho Tricyclin, this birth control made me extremely emotional. 2003-2014 - Ortho Evra, this worked great until it didn't. The last couple of years, I started to have terrible estrogen withdrawal headaches during my off week. I tried to take it straight through for about a year and never stopped spotting. 2014-2017 - NuvaRing. After 3 years, I finally realized it was the medicine making me extra sleepy during the second week. 2017 - Been on Rajani for 3 months now, I am no longer having any symptoms (withdrawal headaches or extreme sleepiness). Seems to be pretty good so far. I have not noticed any symptoms."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Birth Control "I have been on Safyral for years. I'm in my forties. In my 20s, I had major cramps, bloating, cysts, heavy periods, and severe mood swings. The mood swings included me crying at commercials, yelling, and snapping at the smallest thing. I was so not myself the week before, during, and a few days after my period. I was then diagnosed with PMDD and put on Yaz; it was a life changer. No mood swings or heavy periods. Then my doctor recommended I move to Safyral after reported issues with blood clots while on Yaz. It was an easy transition, and even better, I don't get a period at all. I would recommend if you don't have mood swings, depression, or changes in your behavior during or before your period, this may not be the pill for you. The good thing about pills is you can always try, and if it doesn't work for you, stop taking it; not like the shots where you're stuck for three months. Talk with your doctor and really list your symptoms and work together to make the right decision on your pill."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Birth Control "Beyaz didn't work for me. My GYN put me on this pill because I wasn't ovulating. This pill turned out to be my worst nightmare. The first week, I became very emotional and had light menstrual bleeding and cramps. The second week, my bleeding became heavier and cramps turned into pressure in my lower abdominal area. The pressure made me so uncomfortable. No medicine helped. I called my GYN office and spoke with her nurse. She suggested doubling up on the meds I was currently taking. That helped some, but not much. The third week, the bleeding became extreme with large blood clots. Having to wear 2 huge pads at a time was awful. And the pressure turned back into pain. I called my GYN back, and they advised me to stop the pill immediately."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Birth Control "I've been on Beyaz going on 5 years now. The good thing about this birth control is: it does the job! No babies, no bad acne, super light periods here and there. However, I've been experiencing mood swings lately. I will cry and cry and cry till I can't cry no more! I'm so mean to people now, which is crazy because I'm usually a people person most of the time. It makes me super hot at night and makes my chest feel heavier than usual. It's cool for keeping weight down, acne, and no babies. I just think Beyaz has run its course for my body."

For Birth Control "I started taking Yaz in 2007, and I loved it. When my insurance no longer covered the brand name Yaz, I started taking Safyral in 2013 and had no side effects. I was very happy with the medication. In October of 2018, my insurance no longer covered Safyral, so I tried the generic version Tydemy for 3 months, and I had horrible mood swings, my skin started breaking out, and I felt depressed and was crying all the time. It was to the point that my husband told me I was acting like a completely different person. The only reason I gave this medication 2 stars is because it did its job of protecting me from getting pregnant. I would have rather had the $50 copay for Safyral, but even that is no longer an option."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Birth Control "I've been off Beyaz almost a year now and have had only two cycles. I was on the pill a little over five years and went off of the pill due to weight gain, anxiety, and always feeling bad. I haven't had a period since March 2017, which results in me constantly having to take pregnancy tests to make sure I'm not pregnant (which I'm not). I wish I'd never started taking it. Please make sure your OBGYN explains all of the side effects before and after the pill."

For Polycystic Ovary Syndrome "I am 19, was diagnosed with PCOS at 17. I’ve been taking this pill on and off for three years. I often try to stay off birth control of all kinds, but if I find myself in a position where I need to take it, I’ll ALWAYS turn to this pill. I find it does WONDERS for my acne and pores. I also find myself losing weight out of nowhere (though I believe it’s only water weight). Since I’ve taken this pill on and off more times than I’d like to admit, there are times where I’ll take it and the mood swings are unbearable. There are also times where I’ll take it and I find it actually IMPROVES my mood. I’m not sure why this is, but it might have to do with my overall mindset at the times. I would definitely try it out if you’re looking for a new birth control, no harm no foul. From what I’ve heard and experienced, this pill could change your life for the better, or become the bane of your existence."

For Polycystic Ovary Syndrome "Working well for me. I requested this medication from my gynecologist post pregnancy. Lifelong mood swings controlled, no weight gain, breasts got larger, symptoms of PCOS almost disappeared, as well as stabilizing my thoughts and behaviors due to premenstrual dysphoric disorder. I got pregnant in my early 30s after unsuccessful attempts for conception. I didn't know prior to pregnancy that I had PCOS, but in hindsight, it made sense. The drospirenone at the higher dose found in Safyral made all the difference for me."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder "I took this birth control pill because I was experiencing extreme PMDD symptoms. My doctor put me on this hoping it would help and ease my symptoms by the intake of the hormones. This medication drained my whole life. It caused anxiety, depression, mood swings, bouts of crying every single day, and I spent 3 months of my whole summer break in bed, literally. I finally came off of it next week, and I can already feel like myself again. Stay away from this drug, it's also a generic for 'YAZ,' which is absolutely horrible. Stay away, please."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Birth Control "Beyaz was good my first year, but as I continued to take it, my libido was short to none. I grew emotional, started having anxiety problems. I will be discontinuing this birth control because it's starting to affect my marriage."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Birth Control "BEYAZ is my worst enemy! I took this BC pill for 1 1/2 months. Completed week 1, and the mood swings started. Week 3, I started bleeding light with minor cramps. Week 4, my light bleeding turned into heavy bleeding, changing my pad every hour or less. The cramps were no longer minor, they were just unbearable that I had to take Norco and Ibuprofen at the same time just to take the edge off. I spoke to my GYN about the symptoms, and I was advised to give it another try even after I was in the ER injected with Dilaudid. Started the 2nd pack as the bleeding and cramping still continue. Put on Vicodin and Naproxen for pain. I became depressed, angry, isolated, emotionally unattached, and extremely tired. I quit taking it midway, and now I'm in recovery."

Drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium for Birth Control "For 4 years I was on Yaz. I stopped when I got pregnant and waited over a year to get back on the pill. I couldn't handle even general PMS: bloating, cramping, achy body, emotional roller coaster, breakouts, not to mention feeling tired and irritable. So I went to my OB-GYN to get back on Yaz, but she prescribed Beyaz instead."
