For Skin or Soft Tissue Infection "Works very well for treating the cellulitis I got from an insect bite. But don't drink alcohol while you are on this medication. I had half a beer and started feeling really nauseous, had a migraine and my stomach hurt."

For Bladder Infection "I have constant battles with UTIs, so I’ve taken a lot of different antibiotics. Keflex is definitely a good one, but for me, I have to take 500 mg three times a day, so I get some side effects, mostly tired, stomach cramps, and dizzy. It’s not bad, though, like some of the other ones I’ve taken. Before I had repeat infections, I had the 500 mg twice a day dose and had very minor cramping from that dose. It’s my go-to when I can take it. Drink lots of water with it too, it helps flush your system faster and get rid of the infection and its side effects quicker."

For Skin or Soft Tissue Infection "Keflex is a literal lifesaver. I get really serious skin infections that progress to cellulitis, and it’s the only thing that treats them effectively with no noticeable side effects. I just had surgery and got very sick from a UTI from the catheter. I started taking Keflex instead of other drugs and felt better within a day. Genuinely, if you have bad side effects from other antibiotics, this is definitely worth a try."

For Kidney Infections "This is an incredible medication. I regret not taking it sooner due to listening to bad reviews on this website. It is a great medication and very effective at getting rid of bacterial infections of the urinary tract, skin, and even ear infections. I had only one side effect, and it was a slightly full stomach. I did not have nausea, nor did I vomit or anything of that nature. I experienced no discomfort. I’m not a doctor, but many people, including myself, have used real-life experience to conclude the way to use this medication with no side effects. I’m not telling anyone what to do, but this is what I did: I ate a cup of rice before every dose so that my stomach did not become irritated, and it worked. I also drank 8 oz of water with it. Lastly, 2 hours after dosing, I took a probiotic called Culture from CVS, it contains LGG, which is a bacteria that is helpful for the gut and keeps you from having diarrhea. Very effective! You guys need to get this probiotic, it works so well."

For Bacterial Infection "Suffered from osteomyelitis in the femur from age 16 (now aged 80). The osteomyelitis became chronic 10 years ago, and now take 2 Keflex 500 a day full time. Not conscious of any side effects, and infection kept under control."

For Bacterial Infection "Diagnosed with diverticulitis, prescribed Keflex, a dose of 500 mg three times per day. Infection cleared, but I am left with side effects of pains in legs, hands, thighs, toes, fingers, and really sore shoulders into spine and ribs. Didn’t have these pains prior to taking this drug. Jaw started clicking as well. Never again."

For Bacterial Infection "I was prescribed Keflex for an infection that occurred after root canal went bad. Evidently, the previous dentist had not been able to successfully remove all of the nerve and pulp, and over time an infection resulted. Keflex was well tolerated by me and helped to reduce the swelling within the gum until I was able to have a root canal retreatment in order to remove the rest of the nerve and pulp. The rating that I provided is due to the fact that this medication required 4 doses daily, which I felt there must have been some other medication available that required less commitment. Still, it did work and I would take it again if prescribed."

For Skin or Soft Tissue Infection "I've been prescribed this antibiotic many times. I just realized that with my current course for a skin infection, I sweat profusely when I take this. The last time I had episodes of profuse sweating was the last time I was on this! I don't see it listed anywhere as a side effect, but it seems to happen to me every time I take it."

For Skin or Soft Tissue Infection "I get recurring cases of impetigo and Keflex is always my go-to drug. Keflex clears up the infection quickly, and I've never experienced any side effects, even if I take it on an empty stomach. Highly recommended!"

For Upper Respiratory Tract Infection "Being a person with cancer in remission and following health problems - COPD, bronchiectasis, chronic bronchitis, emphysema, chronic sinus and ear infection, odd UTI at odd times. I passed out during the night and woke up on the floor and could not get up off the floor or walk - not COVID. After roughly four to five trips by ambulance to the hospital and various drug treatments with relapses now and again, my GP put me on a low dose of 250 mg Keflex to take one tablet every night, and since that day, I have never had to go back to the hospital or have not passed out again. So possibly I may now be helped with bacterial infections, and I can only speak of my personal experience, but for me, this is a wonder drug. I do realize that bacteria become immune to antibiotics, but as far as I know, I have had no adverse side effects. Antibiotics have come a long way since I was a child. My age is now seventy-nine years of age. I do not have diabetes or heart problems, mainly lung problems, and do not smoke."

For Skin or Soft Tissue Infection "I fell off my longboard and made some bad dressing decisions. After 3 days, I saw a doctor who prescribed this and silver sulfadiazine. After 10 days, it completely healed. Unfortunately, I have had another tumble, this time with a broken wrist and 10 open wounds. On it again. Trusting old Keflex to help again."

For Skin or Soft Tissue Infection "I have suffered with ulcers on my ankles (poor circulation) for years. Every once in a while, one if not both will get infected. Legs swell, and skin turns purple, as well as becoming very sensitive. The ulcers feel as though hot pins are being shoved into them. Keflex always knocks out the infection within a few days."

For Skin or Soft Tissue Infection "I had a tooth that broke off while eating pretzels. Well, as time goes by, no real problems with it, however, it made the tooth next to it get loose and agitated. It becomes an infection. I get put on Keflex 500 mg three times a day for seven days for the infection. I have taken this medication before. After two days, the infection starts to go away, and my mouth feels better. I’m not in pain anymore, however, the night terrors, hallucinations, and anxiety. The night terrors are morbid, they are something out of the 'Saw' movies! If you have any mental disorders or any small underlying ones, I recommend you do not take this medication, because it will make you crazy!"

For Middle Ear Infections "I have allergies to a lot of antibiotics, and the ones I can take, I have horrible side effects. Keflex is the only one I'm not allergic to, and no bad side effects. It works. I had a sinus infection with an ear infection, and even though it isn't typically used for sinus infections, it always clears it up. I also had a double ear infection. All better. Recommended to those sensitive to meds."

For Bladder Infection "I have been going back and forth battling a UTI for about a year. I take D-Mannose, which usually knocks it out in a day or so, but the D-Mannose has been giving me weird pains in my carotids. Anyway, I decided to go get a script after waking up with severe bladder pain a few days ago. About six hours after the first dose, the pain subsided. This medication will make you nauseated if you don't take it with at least 6 oz of water and a snack. No negative side effects yet! Love Keflex!"

For Skin or Soft Tissue Infection "I had a blister that got infected from wearing tight boots for a few hours and then I had it! I got an infection, so I went to the nurse and got me some pills of Keflex for 4X a day for five days and an antibiotic cream. I feel much better. Don't ever wear tight shoes, ever."

For Bladder Infection "I was born in 1956 with severe bladder and kidney problems. At 6 days old, I had 7 surgeries within 18 months. I underwent another surgery at age 18. We had a hard time finding an antibiotic that worked well. My doctor found Keflex, I have been using the brand name Keflex since I was 18. I'm 64 now. The generic drug does not work for me. As of this month, I have been unable to find brand name Keflex. Please don't stop making this drug! Thank you."

For Bladder Infection "I've always taken ciprofloxacin for my chronic bladder infections, but this time around my doctor said he can't give it to me because of a new study that has nothing to do with me. So... I get Keflex. It's extremely slow at getting to the infection. I'm on day three, and I'm just now starting to feel a little better... I think. It also gives me horrific heartburn, headaches, fatigue, and I can't poop."

For Acne "I started taking this medication initially for an infection from a bug bite. After three days of being on the medication, I noticed all of my skin is clear and appears to be glowing, and my pores have shrunk so much. I’m in my early 30s and still suffer from acne occasionally, mostly hormonal acne, and this is amazing. I don’t want to get off of it now. I was on doxycycline for months in my early 20s, which also had a similar effect. The only side effects from this medication initially were a headache and diarrhea, but that went away after one day, and I’m staying on probiotics to help regulate."

For Skin or Soft Tissue Infection "With only 4 doses of 500 mg in 3 days instead of 3 a day, my symptoms got progressively worse. Blurred vision, dizziness, rash, leg pain and swelling, heat sensations in legs, muscle pain, back pain, swelling and pain in the stomach, and extreme fatigue. Stopped taking and reported adverse reaction to the pharmacy and will tell the doctor. Very glad I did not take the full dose. Use with caution if you are sensitive to meds."

For Bladder Infection "I have been prescribed Keflex since they stopped using Cipro for that a few years ago. Works great every time and works within hours. Makes me a little tired and I have a bit of a headache, but I think that might have to do with my body trying to heal itself. I always ask for it if it will treat the bacteria that caused my UTI. They won't prescribe this for some bacteria... FYI. I like that this drug has been around for years and years. Makes me feel safer about taking it."

For Skin or Soft Tissue Infection "I have a slight eye tissue infection. The optometrist suggested Keflex, 2 a day for 10 days. Let it be known I have experience taking a large amount of pharma over my lifetime. Three hours into the first pill, my back completely seized up and tightened. All my lumbar muscles came to an aching halt. Something I have never felt before in my life. I have competed in highly competitive sports my whole life and know my body well from years of training, and never in my life have I felt weird muscle discomfort as I did taking this. Almost 24 hours after taking 1 pill, I still feel the pain. It all depends on the person after reading other people not feeling any sort of discomfort from taking this stuff. I will not be taking this again."

For Kidney Infections "I had a bad kidney infection and was prescribed this in the ER to take 3 times a day for 7 days. I hardly had any side effects at all. The only ones I had were a yeast infection, really bad nightmares, and some sneezing. Other than that, I love this and would definitely take it again, kidney pain was gone within 2 days."

For Kidney Infections "Had a bad kidney infection, given MacroBID for 3 days. After 2 days, it wasn't working, given another 4 days' worth. After another 2 days, it still wasn't working. Called an online private doctor, prescribed Keflex 500 mg, 3 times a day for 7 days. Kidney infection calmed down after 2 days, wasn't sure if it was doing anything for bladder infection, still had pain and discomfort throughout the 7-day course. Side effects: severe itchiness, particularly on the torso. When finished with the course, still had bladder discomfort, but worse was the itch! 2 days later, the itch on the body was gone, but hands and fingers were still really bad, constant itching, scratching the skin raw. Read that Keflex stays in the system for 72 hours. Have had muscle pain throughout the course, which I am confused about whether the kidney infection is getting better as my back muscles hurt. No stomach problems. Can say Keflex sorted the kidney infection, not sure about the bladder infection."

For Bacterial Infection "I have used this medicine for years for many different conditions including bronchitis, boils, bladder infection, sinusitis among a few others. The problem though has become since I have used it so many times, I am almost resistant to it and need a larger dose or longer dosing schedule to clear up a more severe case of the ailment. When it works, it works well."
