"I had a pretty severe sinus infection and was prescribed this to help with my symptoms. It definitely did its job, but oh my God. The worst stomach pain I’ve ever had in my life. I never get side effects from medicine, and I have had to take quite a good amount, but wow this was bad. I have no idea why I reacted with this antibiotic, but it was so bad that it would last the entire day any time I ate, and I was afraid to eat on it. And I never have stomach issues, so this was very hard for me. It does what it needs to, but I won’t lie it was some of the worst pain I’ve ever dealt with."

"Took the first two pills for a sinus and ear infection that I’ve had for months. Tried holistic stuff, but only temporary relief. I used to use this all the time and never once had reactions. Most generics usually turn to rubbish, this did too. Had instantaneous stomach bloating and indigestion (took with GF cereal), skin red and itchy, and worst of all, I’ve suddenly got flu-like symptoms. Feel like trash. 99.4 temp, but feel like I’m on fire. Just a little advice here at the end for sufferers of chronic sinus infections and the like. Just found out why I’m sick all the time: IGG subclass deficiencies. I’m prone to get sinus infections and others. Have a rheumatologist or immunologist check your immune system. Finally found out why I’m so sickly."

"Was prescribed it without a nasal lavage. Do not think I even have a sinus infection, but chronic perennial allergic rhinitis and too many surgeries. Nothing after a 3-day and then one-a-week regime. The only side effect, insomnia, but it was bad."

"I am on azithromycin for 4 days for a sinus infection. The first day I had to take two 250 mg pills, within an hour and a half, my stomach started cramping up. I got 4 more days, I will be finished with this antibiotic."

"Azithromycin is the only antibiotic that works. Having been prescribed clarithromycin and doxycycline to no avail, this was prescribed as I had gotten worse and got an ear infection also, so was so unwell. High temperature and feeling dreadful. I've found Azithromycin to be fantastic."

"I'm only rating it a 3 so far as I'm on day 2. I went to urgent care pregnant with a chronic cough. I usually get sinus infections, but since I'm pregnant, they couldn't X-ray me. Day 1, within a half hour, I felt sharp stomach pains, and my stomach was rumbling. It ended up being diarrhea. I slept just fine at night. I woke up with my cough again. I think my cough improved a little bit on day 2, but I am still coughing a lot. I experienced sharp pains in my stomach and through my vagina. I'm hoping for more progress with this medicine. As is, I was very hesitant to take it since I'm pregnant, but if there is an induction, I wanted to not pass it along to the baby."

Azithromycin "This drug worked after 5 days on my sinus infection. On the 6th day, I experienced vomiting, dizziness, stomach cramps, constipation, black stool, hypertension, fast beating of the heart, low energy, hives on my face, headaches, swollen eyelids, and dark circles under my eyes. Day 11 after taking the last dose, still experiencing a fast heartbeat, swelling in my feet, and hives on my face. Low energy."

"First time I've been prescribed azithromycin for my sinus infection, and it completely sucks for it compared to my typical amoxicillin. Three days in on the Z-Pak and nothing, still have a fever, no change in sinus pressure, and now a splitting headache with a large amount of gas. At least with amoxicillin by the third day, I would feel better, this, nothing. I'll continue treatment just to see, but highly doubt it."

"My husband took this for a sinus infection. By day 4, he was experiencing severe anxiety, nightmares, and difficulty sleeping due to those issues. He started having panic attacks and was restless. This drug is toxic. Stick to something safer like amoxicillin."
