Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "I was recently diagnosed with ADHD. I was on regular Adderall. It made me feel great! I was able to focus better and accomplish a lot. I was switched to Adderall XR. It totally changed my life! After being on it about a month, I started noticing that I was becoming more and more depressed and easily agitated. I also noticed that I had no drive at all! I didn't want to do anything! It got so bad that I became suicidal! I was admitted into the hospital for a brief stay (which was a nightmare!) and learned from the psychiatrist that depression was indeed a side effect of the medicine. I immediately stopped taking it and am slowly getting back to normalcy. It's been about 3 weeks, and I feel like I'm almost completely back to normal."

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "Meh. I was on Vyvanse, 70 mg/day and switched to Mydayis 25 mg/day. NOT what I was hoping for. Not by a long shot. While it 'lasts longer' than Vyvanse (was on Vyvanse for years) which only gave me about 5 to 6 hours in the end, it gives me much less motivation. Makes me depressed. I'm very sorry I did not only get only a 2-week supply rather than 1 month. I have no insurance, and it was about $100 more than Vyvanse. Needless to say, I will request Vyvanse again at my next appointment. BIG DISAPPOINTMENT."

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "I started on Mydayis 37.5 mg 12/09/2017. Previously, I took Adderall XR 60 mg daily. Adderall was working fine except the big drawback was I’d crash and have no focus after three o’clock in the afternoon. This would lead me into a vicious cycle of wanting another Adderall just to be productive. At the end of the month, I’d run short of my Adderall and go “in a tank.” This infuriated my husband because he didn’t understand what I was going through. Since I was tired of this cycle month after month (my FNP would not increase my dose), I did some research and found out about Mydayis. I am taking 50 mg now, and it’s been a game changer. No more crashes! I did feel depressed the 2nd week, but it passed. I’m really happy I found this medication."

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "I was put on Ritalin when I was 6. I did not like it. I took myself off of it when I was 14. My grades plummeted, I developed depression, and then anxiety. I continued to become lethargic and relied heavily on caffeine. I am now 25. I began to take Adderall recently due to severe trouble concentrating at work, thinking it may help me keep my job. Now that my body seems to be used to the medication, I can hardly tell I'm on it. I have noticed improved memory, focus, and concentration. I did have some very adverse side effects accidentally combining with caffeine. I've found now that my body has adjusted I have no side effects, and my concentration remains improved, and, bonus, no depression. I do worry about cessation."

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "What's throwing me off is seeing many experiences saying they couldn’t feel Mydayis working for 4+ hours. It starts off with a small instant release, so I do feel mine working right away. Side effects are different for everyone, but for comparison purposes: Adderall XR 30 mg worked 6-7 hours, then sleepiness and a hard coming down/depressed feeling, loss of appetite, calming effect - helped rationalize my emotions effectively. Mydayis: 12 hrs, still feel working within first 30-60 mins like Adderall, my appetite came back with this, no coming down feeling, but the overall effectiveness of helping with focusing sometimes isn’t as much. I’ve thought about increasing, but I’d like to see about therapy for self-management or at least a low dose. The doc also said if this dose doesn’t work as well that we’d switch to Vyvanse, which is one I haven’t tried, so I’m afraid to switch. Overall, this one has worked best for me, but I am looking at healthier avenues in the near future."

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "Adderall seemed to really help me at first. After about six months, though, I ran into problems. I started to feel nervous, had sleeping issues, loose stool, sweaty pits, and ultimately gained a dependency where I craved for me to always be on it and feared the comedown. The final straw was when I fell into my seasonal depression, and it made it worse. I started to feel like an emotionless robot and knew I had to leave it. Overall, the negative side effects far outweighed the positive ones. I'll also note it has been several months since my last dose, and I still don't feel completely like myself. Sometimes, it is harder for me to get up and going than it has ever been, and my seasonal depression didn't end in March like usual, this is the first sunny June I've been depressed like this. I suggest other alternatives to your ADHD, this drug is toxic, very addictive, and can change you. I never felt right taking it, I'll do anything else to combat my ADHD after experiencing it long-term."

For ADHD "I've been taking generic Adderall for years, especially when I started showing signs of fibromyalgia. I am taking one 20 mg tab twice daily. I have been on the Teva brand since I can remember. I started using it when I was in college, and it was the only thing that worked for me. Now, with the shortage, I'm scared to even take the last of my medication because it helps me get through my fibro. The last two months, I've had problems filling my prescription. Walgreens didn't tell me that they substituted with a different brand and told me that it was the same. I couldn't even get through my workday because I was in a panic attack, tired, and hallucinating. I stopped taking it after only one day and was so depressed and not myself for two days. The brand they switched me to was Camber. I looked it up and saw a review, and a girl left a review identical to mine. I'm afraid to try a different brand, but I would like to know what the best alternative would be similar to Teva."

For ADHD "I've been on ADHD medications for about ten years, and I tried a variety of medications to find the best fit for my condition. I eventually ended up on Mallinckrodt dextroamphetamine generic, and my ADHD was well controlled for many years, until they stopped making the generic and Barr took over. I noticed adverse effects on my mood, trouble sleeping, my anxiety increased, and at times I felt depressed. I switched to the brand name Dexedrine, and I noticed a tremendous difference, and my ADHD has been well controlled for many years. The brand name works so much better for me than the Barr generic. Since then, Teva bought out Barr, and the medication has become even worse. As a physician, I can definitely attest that there are differences between brand name medications versus generic, and although generics can work for many people, that doesn't mean they can work for all. Unfortunately, the push towards taking generics has made getting brand name even more difficult and expensive."

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "Started 25 mg Mydayis about three weeks ago. Was on 30 mg Vyvanse. Vyvanse was good, but it took two hours to kick in and wore off about 5-6 hours after it kicked in for me. (I am likely a fast metabolizer.) I am now feeling lazy, a little depressed, and I am eating more food. I cannot tell when it hits or wears off. Doesn’t feel like it’s doing much. Maybe my dose was too low? Not sure if I will try a higher dose or change back to Vyvanse. Wish I knew how to compare dosages between Vyvanse and Mydayis."

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "Mydayis has been a game changer for me. I was on 60 mg of Adderall XR for years, and I’d lose focus in the mid-afternoon, so I’d take another one. At the end of the month, I’d run short, get irritable, and sleep until I got my script filled again. Vicious cycle. Mydayis 50 mg keeps me level and on a smooth, even keel all day. I usually take it a few hours before waking up since it does take a while to kick in. After a week of taking 37.5 mg, I did experience some depression, but it passed. I’m very grateful that I started Mydayis. My quality of life has improved greatly."

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "Started taking Adderall about 3.5 years ago while in my early twenties for ADD. After already being diagnosed at around 7, my parents refused to put me on medicines. I was never able to sit still, go a day without being extremely restless in class, and many times was sent to the office for being loud. After extreme fatigue and no motivation to finish anything, including zero motivation to work, depression, etc., I started Adderall. Has helped so much (at first) things got done, class/work was way smoother. And had interest in things I always struggled to absorb. Cons... tolerance builds fast. Sleep is a must or you feel like a corpse. (After the first few weeks, sleep comes easier, though.) Nervous. Jittery."

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "I've been prescribed Adderall IR since I was 14 years old. I always found that it worked well enough for me - better than Vyvanse, which made me agitated; Strattera, which simply never worked and gave me Raynaud's; and Focalin, which made me feel manic (I used to jokingly call it 'Cocalin', since it felt similar to the high from cocaine). However, I only found the IR effective for a few hours, so I switched to XR right before I started my first full-time job. While my attention has been fine for most (but not all) of the workday, the side effects have been awful. The most significantly different side effect for the XR dose has been a complete loss of my sex drive, which has been awful and has impacted my relationship. My tolerance has also increased to the point where I am at the maximum dose and feel like it's barely working anymore. If I don't take it, I feel depressed and can't get out of bed. It's no longer worth taking as it now runs my life and only provides marginal efficacy."

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "It's helped, but these side effects are a bit much. Whenever I take it, I often feel depressed. I'm not entirely sure if that's the best way to describe it, but I end up kind of hating myself and not wanting to do anything because I'm a piece of rubbish. This is a common side effect, but I've also been having vision problems, and they've only been happening after I started taking the medication. It could just be a coincidence, but this new farsightedness is definitely out of the ordinary. My parents also needed glasses, but I'm pretty sure neither of them was specifically farsighted."

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "I have taken IR Adderall for several years, but the majority of the generics are horrible, and getting name brand was near impossible plus expensive. So I decided to try Mydayis because my insurance offered it as a covered alternative to Adderall. I have taken Mydayis for 6 weeks, and it is awful. I haven’t been myself at all since starting it; I have been depressed, anxious, and agitated. I’ve had zero motivation to do anything. I could take it in the morning, drink a cup of coffee, and an hour later be drowsy enough to fall asleep on the couch. I don’t recommend Mydayis at all, especially if you’re looking for an alternative to name brand Adderall. Even the worst generic Adderall IR is better than Mydayis."

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "It takes too long to kick in, I have to get up hours before I am supposed to just to take it so I am alert at work. I was just sitting here today trying to figure out why I have been so tired and sad, and I started reading the side effects, and now it all makes sense. I am going to keep taking it until my month is up, and if it doesn't get better, I am going back to my Vyvanse and Adderall."

For ADHD "I’ve been taking Adderall for 15 years, and it has done miracles for me. Yes, some side effects, but it pulled me out of a major depression. Last month, I started feeling off and getting worse every day. Was so depressed I thought of a million different things that may be causing it. To no avail, I’m still suffering, and I think I finally know why. I read a review that said the generic Lennox has had a formula change. Well, I can definitely attest to that. It feels like the last 2 months were miserable, with headache, depression, major panic, and zero focus. I got to the point where I saw no end and my quality of life. The new Lennox Adderall does nothing. I can take a larger dose and feel nothing. With the old formula, I took two 20 mg as prescribed, and my life was well on track, and I felt normal. As it is, I can’t stop terrible mood swings and no energy. I know this is the problem because I found an old pill, took it, and bang, snapped out of my funk."

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "This medicine is great for ADHD, but does not work for everyone. In fact, it made me feel angry, increased anxiety I've been dealing with, and can kind of depress you. I recommend Adderall XR (even though I stopped it) because ADHD is challenging, and this medication made me very focused, like robot focused. It was great! But I had to switch to Prozac cause it gave me worse anxiety. If you have a problem with anxiety, I don't recommend it, there are plenty your doctor can prescribe that don't have as much side effects. But all in all, this medicine is great for treating ADHD. Good luck!"

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "I take 5 milligrams as needed for school. I take it right before school, maybe around 6 am, school starts around 7 am. I've noticed extreme dizziness, I get hot so easily, even more anxious, so much more depressed, so tired, terrible headaches, and excessive talking. I wake up in the morning to bump into every possible wall, my vision is completely blacked out. I can't walk for more than a mile without feeling faint. I eat well and drink lots of water (due to a horrible experience with Vyvanse, in which I lost 20 lbs). Not only that, but falling asleep is killer. I've never taken such a small dose and have such poor results."

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "I was off and on Adderall for a year. I had a psychotic episode a few times with this medication. I went back on it in October of 2017, and I was on 15 mg. When I went on 15 mg, my anxiety was more severe than before, I was really depressed too, and I sometimes lost feeling in my legs. I also lost feeling in my lips if I licked it a few times. I won’t recommend this medication if you have bad anxiety or depression because it can make it like x2."

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "Mydayis was the most effective drug I have ever taken for my ADHD, and it worked too well. It is very good for getting any kind of work done, but the side effects were so insanely negative that I could not handle taking them any longer. I was prescribed Mydayis 25 mg, and I would take it on the weekdays for school and sports to stay focused, but it had really affected my sleep, my appetite, my mental health drastically declined, I could not think rationally, and I was so irritable all of the time. The Mydayis had worsened my depression, anxiety, and would trigger me to pick my eyelashes and eyebrows (trichotillomania). While it had me wanting to do my work and I was finally motivated, I simply could not take the side effects anymore."

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "Quite possibly the worst medication available. To everyone whose lives it changed, try Adderall or Adderall XR. It will change it even better. I'm 32 and have been on 50 mg of Adderall XR for many years. Before that, Vyvanse, but found I was picking at my skin. Adderall XR was cutting out early in the day, and my doctor said try Mydayis. (She also wrote me a script for Adderall, probably because she knew Mydayis sucks). First day. Four hours after taking Mydayis 50, not working. Ten hours, still nothing. I had wasted my day being not productive. Whoever thought four hours before a medication might help you with ADHD was nuts. Or just shire trying to get a new med out there because Adderall is generic. The end of my day was when I had a complete breakdown over dinner. Sobbed for hours and felt so depressed. I tapered down my Adderall to 25 mg and figured I'd give Mydayis 50 another try. Nope. By 3 pm complete sob-fest and in a really dark place. Yeah, Mydayis is $3 a fill with their marketing pack...not worth it."

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "I'm 18 and have been taking Adderall XR 30 mg for 10 years now. When I take it, I can focus on schoolwork and my job and actually succeed. I like being able to do well in school and work, but lately, the side effects have seemed to intensify like crazy. I'd always experienced the loss of appetite, but now the sweating, anxiety, and depression are all starting to wreak havoc on my life. I'm not sociable at all when I'm on this medication. I feel like I'm more of a robot. And if I get distracted for a second and start something else, I will focus on that instead of getting my work done. I've tried other medications in the past, but none do the job like Adderall."

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "This drug provides great concentration for a couple of hours. However, after a couple of hours, I predictably experience extreme anxiety, depression, and irritability. It can easily cause you to get into an argument with someone you love because you are so easily irritated and frustrated by anything. The anxiety is the worst. Being a previous smoker, Adderall increases my craving to smoke by tenfold (a habit I have quit and hardly have cravings for anymore). I also find that the drug clouds my ability to think when doing brain-intensive work such as programming, math, or even typing. I think that might be related to the dosage, though. I don't recommend this medication to anyone (other than those with severe ADHD)."

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "Previously, I was on 25 mg of Adderall XR and 20 mg of Adderall IR since I would lose coverage so quickly. Mydayis takes longer to kick in but lasts me way longer (10 hours instead of 6). I started my own company, so focus is super important for me. I’m currently on day 3 of 50 mg of Mydayis and feel less speedy than when I had to take extra doses of Adderall IR. I have noticed a slight increase in my depression, but hoping it will pass in a couple of weeks, as others have said. I also just switched from Prozac to Zoloft, so that could be part of it too."

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "I have used this medication for over three years, with great success in combating lifelong inability to maintain focus, or to complete tasks, get to work on time, etc., etc. Recently, my physician informed me that the manufacturer of Adderall had quit making immediate-release tablets (was taking 1-2 20mg/day) and switched me over to Vyvanse 40mg time-released. Now I'm having problems sleeping, feel generally depressed. Doubt they quit making Adderall as my doctor said... and think it is more likely the authorities were coming down."
