Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "I was diagnosed 8 years ago with ADD. At 45, I wish I'd had this info and medication. My life has changed for the better. I do notice a major difference in the pink 30 mg versus the orange. The pink ones make me feel like I'm a zombie. They also make me sad, and I get red blotches over my body."

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "I do not like this medicine at all. I feel awful! I screwed up on my test and studying because of it. It is not for me. I was on Vyvanse, but the only issue that I had with Vyvanse was that it only lasted 4 hours! I miss Vyvanse so much. It made me feel so good and more confident, and my focus was on a thousand, and it helped with some anxiety! My doctor and I wanted to give Mydayis a try because it lasts longer. It does last longer, but I feel depressed, lazy, less focused, and just drugged, and that's it. I'm calling my doctor tomorrow to let him know I can't stand this drug at all! I want Vyvanse back right away. I really do hope that they can accommodate me. I will give this Mydayis to the pharmacy so that my health insurance will know that I'm not trying to keep it. It's been only a week since I have been on it. I'm not a fan at all. I want off. It's messing me up."

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "I am 18 years old, and I'm here to share my experience. Like many people say, this medication works miracles at first. I was now doing everything ADHD/mild depression and social anxiety stopped me from doing. Once I progressed towards the sixth month, problems slowly started coming up, and day by day, you fall back into where you started. If you keep going, you'll get even worse. The feelings of depression, anger, and anxiety are almost unreal, and it causes me to take the medication and do nothing but lay in bed instead of being energized, although it could be the 6 hours of sleep every night adding up. Tips for beginners: take weekends off, eat, drink, and sleep."

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "I have both ADD and ADHD and also narcolepsy. This medicine does control moods and also helps with depression I have noticed. I'm going to a psychiatrist for further notice, but I can say it helps me a lot. But when the pill gets out of the system, you feel somewhat down and frustrated. But once it kicks in, you're on your feet, not depressed and doing things around the house, etc. But the downside is the foods you intake. I feel like any vitamin C kills the drug. And it's bad that your body needs vitamin C, like apples, etc., but in the long run of 10/10, this is a great drug for people with ADHD and ADD also sleeping a lot."

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "I had taken Adderall for many years and was slowly on the decline. I was deeply depressed and had an absolute hopeless and helpless outlook on life with no relief. I had psychosis, delusions, and impulsive behavior, which I never had. I began having issues with memory, thinking, reasoning, decision-making, tasks, and concentration. I would become very agitated if interrupted. I was very aggressive and agitated constantly, it was at least 98% of the time in 10 years. I read horror stories about stimulants, namely the amphetamine line of them. I subsequently tapered off of them and feel 100% better than before. I have no depressive symptoms, delusions, memory problems, agitation, or aggressiveness. I was not happy with life, and my personal relationships were very toxic. I wasted almost 10 years of my life feeling like this and have other personal complications that resulted from the use of these toxic drugs."

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "I have always known I was intelligent and a doer, but I could never finish a project or classwork without starting another (2-3 really!) projects. Therefore, I would always get depressed and feel worthless. I couldn't handle small talk and had extreme anxiety when I had to go to church because I couldn't sit still for more than 20-30 minutes without wanting to burst. My mom always found ways to teach me to calm myself down in different situations, but she didn't understand how bad it was. She also didn't believe in medicating her children. I wish I could describe what my first five employers said about me when I left their companies. I will just say this: Adderall XR 20 mg once in the morning has seriously made the difference in my life."

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "This medication has completely changed my life. Without it, I feel like I am not complete. Twisted, I feel like I can accomplish anything. Without it, I sleep and have no motivation, suffer from depression, anxiety, no social skills. With it, my whole social outlook changed, I am no longer shy and not shying away from social encounters. It is definitely a miracle."

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "I have been taking 2-10mg IR tablets each day for about a month. I have noticed a significant difference in how well I perform at school since I've been on Adderall. I have many honors and AP classes, which always have a big workload. Each day I had to struggle with my ADD and having to look over the material numerous times. I am now able to focus and have confidence in my classes. Usually, I am the last person taking a test, and now I am one of the first people done because I am finally able to focus. Negatives: as Adderall wears off, I feel antisocial, weak, agitated, and slightly depressed, the positives definitely outweigh the negatives. ADD is hard to deal with, and finally being able to focus means so much to me."

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for Narcolepsy "I was diagnosed with narcolepsy after about 5 years-1995 to 2000. A sleep study doctor diagnosed me as having this disorder. After trying methylphenidate and then Provigil, I still had EDS. I even had a doctor prescribe Desoxyn, which didn't help. Adderall XR also was not effective enough, so I was prescribed 30 mg of Adderall I.R. once a day. Narcolepsy causes sleep deprivation, causing anxiety, depression, and nights of no sleep at all. Most doctors hesitate to prescribe medication for these side effects. I finally found that Belsomra helps on those sleepless nights. Adderall is not the 'magic bullet' by itself, and the stigma of having to take Adderall, Klonopin, Wellbutrin, and Belsomra gives narcoleptics anxiety and fear to ask physicians to prescribe medications that almost make us feel normal."

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "My 10 y/o daughter used this medication for several months. Was not as effective as a previous medication (Vyvanse). Did not last that long (effect wore off mid-day) and caused her to have an increased heart rate daily. In addition, her entire mood changed. She became uninterested in even her favorite things, almost like a depression, and she also became extremely moody. Very irritable and easily agitated and upset."

For ADHD "I have been on and off generic Adderall for many years. Currently, I have been prescribed 30 mg twice a day. For the last couple of months, it's been a nightmare. It's been on backorder and then changed the generic name from amphetamine salts combo to amphetamine/dextroamphetamine combo. This is only because I have had severe headaches, extreme fatigue, and a loss of motivation. My ADHD has been out of the roof. It's frustrating because I feel like I did before taking any generic Adderall. I have even been concerned that maybe I was receiving a placebo rather than the actual medication. That's probably far-fetched, but it's been such a decline for me. There is something missing from this generic form, and it is the essential thing that is needed to control my ADHD. I have even gained a lot of weight over the past two months. Hopefully, something will give, I can't imagine it affecting people like this and nothing changing."

For ADHD "I went to the pharmacy to pick up my Adderall generic brand Zydus. I was told they were out of my brand. I was given the Epic brand. The Epic brand caused me to have severe depression, and I stayed in bed, I’ve always been very energetic. I stopped taking it. I called the pharmacist and reported the side effects I had. The pharmacist didn’t act surprised at all, stating we are out of your regular brand and probably won’t get it back in."

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "Worked perfectly for the first week (10 mg), my mind was completely clear, and I felt almost no anxiety whatsoever. Second week (20 mg), started feeling suicidal, worst I've ever felt in my entire life. Parents thought it was out of character, I couldn't stop crying-worst emotional pain I've ever felt (I've never felt like that before). Was convinced it wasn't the medication, but felt better as soon as I stopped taking it. If you're feeling this way while being on it, it's probably the medication... I was convinced that it wasn't until I started seeing that a couple of other people had similar reactions. 19/female"

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "I received Mydayis 25 mg 2.5 months ago for severe combined type ADHD (also started Lamictal at that time). After taking the 25 mg dose for 2 months, I was not impressed. Mydayis seemed to work OK when beginning Lamictal, but the effects declined as the Lamictal titration from 25 mg to 200 mg maintenance dose. The benefit of Mydayis was increased alertness on the morning commute to work and a general calming. My focus and concentration remained impaired. The Dr bumped Mydayis to 37.5 mg and feel calmer and less impulsive, and alertness is increased to the point of insomnia. No relief of concentration or problems forgetting things, losing items, etc. In fact, I feel quite depressed and drugged."

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "While Adderall definitely helped my ADD symptoms, the comedown was absolutely horrible. I was on 30 mg per day (20 mg IR in the morning, 10 mg IR 5 hrs later). It made me finally able to focus and stay organized for the 5 months I took it. However, as soon as it started wearing off, I turned into a real big jerk, and I even lost some friends because of it. I eventually discontinued it after having a mental breakdown and due to several of my closest friends and family approaching me about how I was acting. I ended up switching to Concerta and currently take 36 mg per day. I find that it works 10 times better than Adderall did for me. Long story short, Adderall, while definitely very effective at treating my symptoms, wasn't the right fit for me."

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "When I first started taking it, it helped me immensely with my ADHD. Pretty quickly, however, it stopped working. For one thing, it gives me crazy mood swings. It really amps me up at first, and I get super euphoric and happy for two hours, and then I feel awful and anxious and depressed. It actually potentiates my ADHD symptoms. It makes me extremely thirsty all the time, so I keep having to leave class to go use the bathroom or fill up my water bottle. Adderall makes it harder for me to appreciate the beauty of nature. I feel less in touch with my emotions when I take it. I understand that Adderall helps people a lot of the time, so it's worth a shot. But it didn't help me at all. In fact, it probably made things worse."

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "Taking 25 mg right now and was on Adderall XR 30 mg. I don't understand this medicine since it usually makes me tired and down for about 2-3 hours after taking it, then get an okay amount of focus for another 6-8 hours. I personally can't deal with those 3 hours every day when I need to be productive, so I will try something else. This drug may be very similar to the chemicals in Adderall, but it definitely does not feel like it."

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "When I began taking Adderall in my early 20s, from dose one I could say I feel 'normal' for the first time in my life since I was a young boy. I was happy, and life had meaning and a reason. It allowed me to become productive, and I loved this new feeling of well-being in both mind and body. It came after a decade of severe depression, anxiety, and panic states, and a multitude of psych issues, and I was like a person on the outside but inside a disease of agonizing mental anguish, and physically I hurt from severe pain but had no physical evidence that I was like a 20-year-old young man who was only alive because I would not die. A tablet of Adderall changed my life, and it is my key to a life worth living."

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "Overall, I'd say that Adderall XR is better than Adderall IR. Sometimes I feel faint on Adderall XR. I can't take it every day because I get too tired. I have weird side effects with medications. I usually get all of the side effects when I take medications. I also have depression too. Hopefully, Dexedrine will work."

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "Switched to this because Vyvanse 70 mg was wearing off too soon (I take my meds around 6 am and it would wear off by 1-2 pm). It's been about 2 weeks now, and I'm depressed, grouchy, and accomplish nothing in the morning until about 10 am when I am almost overly focused. I feel moody, more overwhelmed than normal, and it does not have the calming effect on me like Vyvanse did. I'm going back to Vyvanse for sure and going to ask about an afternoon pill to get me through those last couple of hours of work."

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine "Alvogen and Linette generic Adderall have destroyed my quality of life! I suffer from M.S., and Teva Adderall was the only thing that helped get me up out of bed and able to move around and put one foot in front of the other. With my ADHD and M.S., not only do I not have the will or energy to do it, but I can't decide which foot I should try to move first! I have been extremely depressed since I can no longer have the quality of life that Teva allowed me to have that managed my severe exhaustion. I need someone to help me and tell me where I can fill my prescriptions and get Teva Adderall so I can at least have some quality of life! PLEASE, SOMEONE HELP ME!"

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "I tried Adderall first at age 17 (15 mg a day). It helped a couple of hours after I took it, but about 3 hours later, I'd get extremely depressed and have depressing thoughts, then a couple of hours later, it'd just go away. This happened every time, and I went off it shortly after. At 19, I tried it again at 20 mg a day. Same good feelings for about 3 hours, and then a crash. However, this time, the bad feelings weren't as intense, and I didn't have depressing thoughts. I did experience more anxiety, though, and the depression was still bad enough for me to dread taking the meds. I'm trying Focalin now, but I've only taken it once, so I can't compare them yet."

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "I can't believe all these negative reviews! The only praises I hear are ones that sound like 'stage actors' who are planted into these websites and are being paid to boast about the wonders of this medicine. This medication was created because Shire no longer held the patent of Adderall, so they came up with a new drug for doctors to push so Shire could make more money again. At the same time, all the generics of Adderall that were so great are now weak and inferior. I've never been so depressed and feel there is nothing to look forward to anymore after having Adderall pulled out from underneath my feet. I just plug through my days just to get the day over with. My family suffers due to big pharma greed!"
