For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "Was prescribed these drugs for 14 days alongside 4 daily tablets of Metronidazole 250 mg and Nexium instead of Lansoprazole. Diarrhea, headaches, nausea, insomnia, dizziness, tongue numbness/tingling, bad bitter tastes in my mouth. It's almost intolerable and much worse than the actual disease. I'm only on day 6. I'm sticking to it, but it is a struggle every second."

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "Was diagnosed with H. pylori a week ago, started taking my meds ELICORID (amoxicillin 1 gm, clarithromycin 500 mg, and rabeprazole 20 mg). Well, the side effects are mild nausea, restlessness, sweating, palpitations, feeling weak, gas, and all. The doctor said I have to take it for 3 weeks. I must say it isn't easy, but at least now I can eat and relax. I know in the end I'll be fine, that's what keeps me going. In my mind, I imagine the antibiotics with laser guns in my stomach blasting and getting rid of all those horrible, nasty H. pylori bacteria. Lol... best of luck to everyone."

Amoxicillin / clarithromycin / lansoprazole for Helicobacter Pylori Infection "I was very nauseous and vomited and felt like I had the flu throughout the therapy. I was warned that I might get diarrhea, but fortunately, I didn't. I got a second endoscopy done and a biopsy to see if the medicine worked, and... it was unsuccessful."

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "Had to stop after morning three-pack on day 13. Unbearable headache, worsened dizziness, nausea, insomnia, and horrible taste in mouth. I had to take it over Christmas, and it was horrible. Now switching over to naturopathic treatment of mastic gum and Laurcidin (brand of monolaurin). I have heard that using green tea along with those two is helpful. Good luck, everyone! It also helps not to eat the foods that most feed unhealthy bacteria: sugar (with the exception of fruit), wheat, corn, dairy, and alcohol."

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "I am 22 and just graduated college. For about the past month and a half, I had been trouble digesting food and would vomit the blandest of food. I got it checked and underwent an endoscopy this week. The endoscopy went well, and the doctors did not find inflammation or any form of ulceration. I was prescribed amoxicillin/clarithromycin/pantoprazole, in case H. pylori is present. At first, I was exhausted, with no energy. After every meal, I have felt the need to vomit but have forced myself to hold down the food. I gag at least 5-10 times post-meal, like I'm about to throw up. Are you supposed to take the meds all at the same time, with or without food, etc.? I have felt worse on the antibiotics than I did without them. I get nauseous, with a constant metallic taste in my mouth. I cannot stop spitting after I eat; I feel like mucus is stuck on the back of my throat. Would love anyone to offer suggestions on the potential cause and what to do from here. Look forward to hearing from y'all!"

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "Was diagnosed with H. pylori and prescribed this triple combo amoxicillin/clarithromycin/lansoprazole meds. I'm on day 5, and CAN I JUST SAY ugh. I'm constantly nauseous, lava firing out of my butt, headache, and vomiting =(. So lame, I hope this gets rid of this bacteria!"

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "In pain for the last 3 months. Abdominal pain with pins and needles. After 3 ER visits that found nothing, I went to my doctor, who sent me for an EGD. H. Pylori POSITIVE! I am currently starting day 8. I take Amoxicillin, Clarithromycin, and Omeprazole twice a day. 1st day, I just felt very off. 2nd day, diarrhea about 5 times. None since, but I am constantly constipated. 2 days ago, I was able to work for a full 8 hours without paying attention to my pain! I hope this works. Insomnia is an issue. I am getting groin pain too, but I'm not sure if that's related. I get a weird muscle spasm in my right leg. Metallic taste isn't bugging me too much. I have been stuffing my face with whole grains, fruit, and probiotics like kefir and yogurt. Overall, I'd say it hasn't been horrible. I urge you to take a lot of probiotics during treatment. Also, bone broth with ginger and turmeric quickly got rid of my nausea on my 2nd day. 6 1/2 days to go. Hope everyone recovers!"

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "I am a 28-year-old female. I have had digestive issues for about 4 years. But recently (past 2 months), it got really bad. It started with feeling sick every night after dinner. If I ate any food past 6:30, I'd be sick all night. Intense nausea, but took measures to not vomit. The week before I saw my doctor, I could barely eat anything at any time in the day without feeling horrible stomach pain and nausea. No appetite at all and on and off constipation and diarrhea. I lost a pound a month for 5 months. Got depressed about slowly involuntarily starving. Asked my doctor to test for H. pylori because multiple people in my extended family have had it. I came out positive. I was prescribed the triple therapy of lansoprazole, amoxicillin, and clarithromycin."

Amoxicillin / clarithromycin / lansoprazole for Helicobacter Pylori Infection "Actually, I realized just a week ago that I was having an H. pylori infection, and I started medication yesterday. Meanwhile, I'm doing well, but the side effects are hard. I get a metallic taste, I feel nausea, and when I vomit, I spit just bubbles. It also just makes me feel super tired. But hopefully, I'll get better."

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "I am on day 4 and unsure if I can continue the course. Since day one, I have had fatigue, severe nausea, and a horrible taste in my mouth as if I just chewed up a Tylenol. I take the meds with food and have taken probiotics, but I am still miserable. Last night was the worst, I woke up and felt horrendous - had a migraine, extreme nausea, overwhelming bad taste, extreme weakness, chills, vomited 3 times. I’m not sure if I have ever felt so bad. I was going to give up this morning, but have pushed myself to continue. The days seem to be better than the nights, but I am praying tonight will go better than last. From reading the other comments, the drugs apparently affect people differently, but I have been an unlucky one. My mother had H. pylori and was treated in the early 90s. She couldn’t make it through the drug regimen and has struggled ever since with heartburn, acid reflux, and ulcers, so I am going to do my best to keep going."

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "I took the combination first and I stopped taking it. I went to get checked again, the infection was still there. They put me on the second dose, 18 pills a day. I was told I had chronic H. pylori. Did anybody experience this? I had a chronic cough with shortness of breath nightly, then it started happening every morning. Sometimes I would cough up clear fluid, sometimes I would cough up blood. It was a cough spell every morning that lasted for about 20 minutes. I’m sure it was from the infection because when I first started the first dosage they gave me, the cough stopped. The second dose of antibiotics I’m taking, I’m on my fifth day and I still feel nauseous. I’ve been feeling nauseous the whole time. It sucks, hopefully, this makes it go away, being as though I had it for so long. I also had it long enough to where I developed precancerous cells. They told me that once the infection is gone, the cells will overturn and go back to normal, hopefully, that’s true."

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "Okay, so I'm not one to normally share this, but I started these like 4 days ago, and I'll tell you this before I get into my side effects. I'm a panicky person in general, and please know that everyone is different when it comes to side effects. But I'm on day 4, and I haven't left the bed in one day. The first night on it wasn't that bad, I felt a little nauseous but didn't throw up. The next night, I started getting dizzy. I thought, well, I must be tired, so I went to bed. The third day, I was dizzy as anything, which caused my panic attacks to get way worse. Now we are on the 4th day, and I have never felt so dizzy, slight headache, random pains in my stomach, diarrhea, weak, and my panic attacks are like every hour. I'll say this: you must eat on this, although they say it doesn't matter, and drink tons, and I mean tons of water. I am pushing through because I don't want the constant pain in my stomach to be there anymore. I do hope others are better than me."

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "I started my H. pylori treatment with this combination and lost my appetite, felt full and tired, and had a strong metallic taste. The problem was that after a week, I broke out in hives from head to toe. Turns out I am allergic to amoxicillin. So I had to stop and start a different combination that was metronidazole, tetracycline, bismuth, and PPI. These were mostly four times per day. With this combination, I felt so much worse. The metallic taste was not as strong, but the nausea was through the roof. I lasted ten days on this after the other seven. Couldn’t keep the pills down, even took Gravol, which didn’t help a lot. So it all depends on the person and how the drugs affect them. I hope it’s enough to have cleared up the infection."

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "Before I started my triple antibiotics, I read a lot of reviews of pretty bad side effects - honestly, I got really nervous, but I usually don’t get side effects. Within 2 hours of taking my very dose, I felt so nauseous and weak, and I also had a headache. Then the runs started, but that was just day 1. Day 2, the runs stopped, but everything else continued, and I vomit acid almost every night and morning, it’s always at least 4 hours after my dose. At this point, I’m still striving through and just ignoring my side effects since they are “normal.” It’s day 7, and I’m up at 3 a.m. crying because I’m also experiencing some sort of panic attacks before I vomit. I read this has something to do with acid touching your heart or something like that? I’ve never experienced panic attacks before this. I thought I would have to call 911 after tonight, but thankfully after vomiting, I feel better temporarily. I hope you all feel better, xo."

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "Severe bloating and nausea led me to the doctor, and a breath test confirmed H. pylori. First treatment: amoxicillin, levofloxacin, pantoprazole for 14 days (test after 6 weeks came back positive again). Second treatment: amoxicillin, clarithromycin, omeprazole for 14 days (will test in 6 weeks). Side effects: nausea, diarrhea, bloating, tiredness, metallic bitter taste. These were bad until day 10, and it got better from there. There are no dietary requirements for treatment. Don't feel like you have to eat a certain way to eradicate the bacteria. Also, make sure to retest 6 weeks after treatment. Hang in there, everyone!"

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "On day 7 today. Feeling terrible with the usual one-off headache, nausea, bad taste, and fatigued. You can't get much work done, and it helps to get a few days off to recover. With the exception of a few days, it's been tough. Anyone starting the medication, hang on and try to complete the 14 days. If you give up halfway, you risk getting bacteria resistance that is even worse, I guess. I found taking probiotics after 2 hours is good and reduces the symptoms. If your symptoms get worse, you can go back to your doctor for advice. Good luck."

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "It all started when I started having stomach pains and burps every time I eat/drink. I have never been sick like this my entire life, I am in my twenties, in good shape and eat somewhat healthy. I went to the doctor and my stool test result was borderline, but my symptoms made it good enough for an H. pylori. I have been put on a 14-day plan. It’s the first time I take antibiotics. I am on day 5. It’s been bad: lack of appetite, dizziness, nausea, weakness, diarrhea, inability to sleep at night. It came to the point I went to the ER one morning due to feeling so bad that I couldn’t take the morning dose. Since I am a person that likes to read, I immediately started investigating the bacteria and read so much about it. That was a bad decision as it only brought me more fear than occupation. For anyone that goes through this, hang on and don’t give up the medication once you started it as the bacteria will become immune to the treatment."

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "My experience started on that day the doctor told me I have H. pylori. It wasn't easy knowing some experiences of my friends. Starting to take the combination was OK day 1 and 2, but day 3 the whole mouth was bitter. Day 5, some mild chest pains. On top of that, the tablets could reach the throat and felt like I would puke them. What motivated me was seeing the packets I was clearing. I am still in the process of taking medication, so day 15 I will be here to complete my review."

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "I'm on day 6, and I am weak. Slight pain in my back, nauseous, can't eat. What I can tolerate is nice hot chicken noodle soup, nothing heavy. Just started taking a probiotic, which I think is helping. I'm eating a lot of yogurt and peppermints at night before sleeping. No headache today. 7 more days to go. What helps is knowing there is a better outcome. Hang in there, we can beat this nasty little bug... God bless you all, God is with us ❤❤❤❤"

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "This drug has been giving me the worst metallic taste ever as a side effect as well as diarrhea and nausea. I tried to take yogurt with it, and it has helped a lot, but once I stopped taking yogurt, the side effects came back. All I’m saying is I hope you take some sort of probiotics or yogurts along with this drug. But hopefully I heal! I’m on day 7."

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "Prior to being diagnosed, I experienced long bouts of nausea to the point I couldn’t do much in day-to-day activities. I was severely nauseous for a month on several occasions with increasing acid reflux and bloating. Fast forward, I was VERY weary of taking Prevpac (I had not read all reviews of this medication) just out of worry for continued severe nausea. I started on Friday, and today marks day 4. I’ve been taking both Amoxicillin 500 mg, Clarithromycin, and Lansoprazole in that order before eating. I’ve also been drinking 2 Activia probiotic dailies 2-3 hours before or after I take the meds. I will say the meds are hard to muster, totaling 8 tabs/capsules a day for 14 days. So far, I’ve had mild nausea, slight chills, lightheadedness, headache, and stomach cramps."

Amoxicillin / clarithromycin / lansoprazole for Helicobacter Pylori Infection "This is horrible! Don't know if I can continue. Day 3 and have been to the emergency room already. The stomach pain is a lot, nauseous, vomiting, bloated, and just tired. The gastroenterologist warned me. I would get worse before I was better. I just didn't think it would be this bad! I can barely eat, and whatever I can is like a cup of food. Hoping it gets better!"
