Xanax (alprazolam) for Panic Disorder "Xanax really helps me with my panic attacks. If normally a panic attack would last me around 3-4 hours, if I take this it will be gone in around 30 minutes and then feel extremely calm and peaceful. It really helps a lot and I don't think I'll ever stop taking it, because I just can't deal with my panic attacks on my own."

Xanax (alprazolam) for Anxiety "This drug has saved me on a thousand occasions, from generalized anxiety to panic attacks or somatic tension, up to situations of severe insomnia where the next day I had to get up early in the morning. I have always considered it a godsend, it is an excellent anxiolytic and it is very useful also for those suffering from sleep disorders, because it does not leave heaviness or numbness the next day, due to its short duration of action in the body. My average dosage is 20 drops (0.50 mg). What can I say, to me it is the best anxiolytic!"

Xanax (alprazolam) for Anxiety "Alprazolam is to me what glucose is to a diabetic. I’m an educated contributing member of society but am genuinely a disabled person without this drug. My anxiety without this drug is so extreme that I spend every waking moment trying to relieve a fear state, cannot experience peace of any kind, laugh, smile, or function in any state outside of terror. CBT, meditation, positive thinking, hot showers, faith, etc. just do not work for the level of anxiety I have. I have tried many other drugs and classes of drugs because I’m aware of what Xanax is, but this drug is the treatment for anxiety like mine. I would never abuse this drug, would never drink alcohol with it, and am highly aware of how it affects me. Xanax keeps me off disability and well, period."

Xanax (alprazolam) for Panic Disorder "I've taken Xanax for thirty years, and I had to only increase the dosage once! I would've lost my job if I didn't take it. In my opinion it's a miracle drug; thats why I've stayed with it all these years.!!!"

Xanax (alprazolam) for Anxiety "Xanax has helped me a lot 2mg once a day or as needed. With anxiety and ptsd issues from combat I can say it’s helped with my sleep and I’m not so tight everywhere I go. A lot better than seroquil which has horrible side effects and weight gain that stuff made me feel like a zombie. Btw if you do get “cut off” be careful because Xanax withdraw can cause death and seizures."

Xanax (alprazolam) for Anxiety "I have been taking this drug for 13 years and I can tell you without it , I would probably be a basketcase. I take it twice daily .05 mill for a total of 1 mg per day. I hear so much negative about this drug but for me it has been a lifesaver. I have acute anxiety disorder and depression. I also take 20 mg a day of Prozac and have little to no side effects accept for ED . I am almost 69 yrs old so just being able to function and continue to stay active is a big plus."

Xanax (alprazolam) for Anxiety "I have panic disorder, anxiety, some OCD. I’ve been on Xanax (1mg as needed which ends up being daily but usually only at night and then I take 2) for about 7 years. I was originally prescribed it more than 20 years ago but kept it as a security blanket. I’ll never forget the first time I actually got the nerve to try it. “This is what normal people feel like???”, was my response. I would keep my review at a 10 EXCEPT, now I’m hearing LOTS of talk (and medical reviews) that it causes dementia/Alzheimer’s!!! This is the ONLY drug that works for me and I feel I need to get off of it. Scared and torn and would love a solution."

Xanax (alprazolam) for Depression "I know what it's like to lose 30 pounds in one month from depression. No appetite, can't walk without getting tired, laying in bed all day crying & nightmares night after night. It's so annoying when psychs' won't prescribe this because of fear of addiction. Well guess what? If I hadn't have found xanax, I would have committed suicide a long time ago. You can take this medicine long term if you have severe depression and are responsible."

Xanax (alprazolam) for Panic Disorder "Been on Xanax 4 years 1mg a day for intense panic attacks in the evening/night. Would wake up sweaty heart palpitating impending doom and vomiting nonstop. Also have CVS. Xanax worked great, also helped my TMJ. Never had to increase my dose in the 4 years I've been on it & never took more than the one pill a day I was prescribed. So tell me why now, all of the sudden my dr has taken me off of it?! After 3 days of not taking it I was twitching, vomiting, couldn't hold down water, TMJ pain, intense migraine and tinnitus. Called dr & told him I have a 5 year old child, cannot be bedridden all day! He called in a script but only 15 pills half my normal dose & said he couldn't give me anymore. His reasoning: "You've been on it too long and you shouldn't need it anymore." Xanax helps my panic attacks, TMJ, CVS, insomnia. Had given me my life back. No quality of life now. Guessing this is because of people who abuse them, they want to take people off who legit need it & don't abuse it."

Xanax (alprazolam) for Anxiety "Xanax saved my life when I suffered from anxiety and depression, figuratively and perhaps literally, too. Not only did it help me sleep and stop my restless legs at night, it helped with constant severe anxiety AND it helped my depression, too. I've been taking Xanax for 15 years. I've never taken more than the prescribed amount, because I know it can be addictive AND I know that I won't be able to get it if I abuse it. Frankly, it doesn't make me groggy, high, or anything other than "normal." It feels really great to just feel normal, and that is why it frightens and frustrates me when I have to change prescribers (of all my meds) and some object to the Xanax. I never share it, sell it, or use it other than prescribed. I don't think I should feel pressure to stop it. For me, it makes life tolerable, and I have a friend in San Diego who has the same experience with Xanax."

Xanax (alprazolam) for Tinnitus "Lifesaving. Was completely nonfunctional before being put on it. I understand the risks but the risks of disabling tinnitus were 1 million times worse. This medicine needs to be studied further as I also agree that severe tinnitus related to sudden sensorineural hearing loss is a brain condition. I tried a million things beforehand (steroids, steroids injected into ear, hyperbaric oxygen, etc.) Xanax saved my life."

Xanax (alprazolam) for Depression "I've been on and off Xanax for 22 years. It's the only drug that makes me feel normal after a lifetime of anxiety and depression. It's awful that people use it recreationally and that's made it difficult to get a prescription for it because of others abuse of it. It makes me feel normal. So obviously I need it. I have nothing but good things to say about this drug. It helps me not want to freak out and shake due to anxiety. If you really need to be on it, it's amazing."

Xanax (alprazolam) for Anxiety "Only med that has ever really worked for me. I've tried every holistic approach to treat my anxiety, taking a .25 takes the edge off like nothing else. I'm afraid to take meds but taking xanax doesn't make me nervous. I only take it when my anxiety and panic come back, sometimes I have it under control for long periods of time. I read a lot of negative things about becoming addicted and the withdrawal effects but most of us who really suffer hate taking meds. We rather get better with no drugs. It helps me calm down so I can think clearly and get through the day or night. Wanted to post something positive for those who are afraid to take it."

Xanax (alprazolam) for Panic Disorder "This is one of those medications that you try to avoid due to "bad press," That being said, it has saved my life. I went from being home bound agoraphobic to traveling outside my home, getting and maintaining a 12 hour job and this year going back to college to finish my nursing degree. This is what this medication was originally made for....to give those like us a chance at a normal life. So sad so many are deprived this miracle drug due to a few bad apples. No memory impairment thus far and I have been on this med for years. Not expensive. No bad side effects other than an occasional headache. Wonderful medication!"

Xanax XR (alprazolam) for Panic Disorder "I absolutely love this generic alternative to regular Xanax because I can attest to previously having urges and cravings to take more when I was on regular than I ever do for Xanax XR. SOO thankful for this drug, one of those XR formulations actually turned out to be useful in deterring abuse and misuse. I would recommend this 10x overs than any other benzodiazepines currently available on the market for anxiety. This drug has changed my life and it doesn't negatively impact it, nor do I find myself running out early. I actually have more than needed at time my medication was due for refill."

Xanax (alprazolam) for Depression "The first time I took Xanax was when I was having dental work and it was prescribed for the acute anxiety I feel with dentists. This past year my regular doctor suggested I might like to take it from time to time because of depression and anxiety. It helps tremendously. I usually break the .25 mg pill in half and just take half of one. I do not use it every day, but when I need it, it's wonderful and gets me to the next day."

Xanax (alprazolam) for Panic Disorder "I have been taking Xanax for 7 years now. And I do not feel like myself anymore. Everything have become worse step by step since I started this! I can barely go out now! Xanax took my life away! My agoraphobia and panic attacks has increase over 1000 times! I'm so addicted to this medicine by now so if I miss one dose, I get crazy panic and feel I will DIE and get a stroke or heart attack! Have been close to call ambulance many times! I had one bad seizure a while ago. NOW I have decided to quit this "medicine" but at the hospital under the supervision of a Doctor! I can not quit myself! I have been taking 4 mg every day since 7 years! Please STAY AWAY FROM THIS DRUG! If you take if for years, it will be like selling your soul to the devil! Xanax is the devils candy! I would have torn my first prescription in 2 parts if I could travel back in time! Now I need 4 MG a day, at least just to survive! Only to keep my nose above the surface! Remember I WARNED YOU! I lost my girlfriend! Pray for me, please!"

Xanax (alprazolam) for Anxiety "I rated Xanax a 5 because yes at first it was a god send! I got an appetite became interested in daily activities again, gave me motivation and I once again had goals set for myself. However this drug is for short term use and that's it! I was on it for several years and when I became physically dependent on it what was prescribed to me was never enough! I not only was physically dependent but also addicted! It began to cause increased anxiety, irrational behavior, destructive actions, and really bad mood swings! I weaned myself off as soon as I realized it was causing the problems in my life! If you get on this medication don't stay on it for too long! Getting off of this medication was the hardest thing I have ever done in my whole life I am still struggling with it 2 years later!"

Xanax (alprazolam) for Panic Disorder "It's amazing how many symptoms come about because of anxiety: chest pain, chest squeezing, dizziness, light-headed feelings, feeling faint, sweating, nausea, heart palpitations. I could go on. Xanax is practically a miracle drug. It stops most of these symptoms cold after about 45 minutes of taking it. You feel better, and you look back at one hour ago, and you're bewildered that stress and anxiety caused you to feel so badly."

I'm able to work and enjoy my life again instead of being bed ridden. I experienced no side effects either. If not for xanax I would've been in an institution by now xanax saved my life."

Xanax (alprazolam) for Anxiety "This medication has helped me live a normal life well more normal. I don't worry much about nothing and I can go into Walmart and feel comfortable. My social life is improving as well. There were times I couldn't get myself to interact with people sometimes I wouldn't even answer the phone. I've only been on this medicine for a little over a month it has truly been a lifesaver. I am sleeping like a baby I can't remember the last time I've struggled to calm down and go to sleep only to wake up several times a night using the bathroom or just couldn't relax. My quality of life is getting much better."
