For Benzodiazepine Withdrawal "Ok, been awhile since I posted. I’m down from .5 to .125 once daily. I use a prescribed and pharmacy made liquid compound to get very accurate doses. I’m having no withdrawals effects right now. It’s been about 6 weeks at this dose. It’s taken nearly 8 months to get this far. In a couple of weeks, I’ll reduce again. I’ll either alternate days, or go to .0625 daily. Those will be my last doses. I hold the dose until symptoms calm. It’s never perfect. But I know I can get off this horrible drug. I hate the withdrawals and the anxiety after a cut, but I love getting free. We can do it. Go slow, small cuts in doses, steady progress. Do distractions and healthy eating. Remember, your brain can and will heal."

For Benzodiazepine Withdrawal "If I could rate it as a “0” I would.. You shouldn’t be on this drug for more than a couple of weeks.. Clonazepam is a nightmare. I’m a month or so in on the withdrawals and the only thing keeping me alive is my faith in God and my loved ones. It’s hard to eat, it’s hard to sleep, it’s hard to take care of myself. I would never wish this pain on anyone. Please do NOT take this drug for more than a couple of weeks. I know you feel like you should listen to your doctor over some random anon on the internet but PLS listen. If I can warn people so they don’t have to face the same mental anguish and pain I’m in right now I will. This is the hardest thing I’ve been through in my entire life. Be wary of ANY drug that’s a benzo. They’re awful, habit forming and change your judgment and decision making.. Stay away from this drug.. and if your doc keeps pushing you to take it get a new doctor."

For Insomnia "Diagnosed with depression and generalized anxiety 2 years ago. Antidepressant helped with the depression immensely, but the anxiety still tended to come out at night. Heard too many horror stories about Ambien and wanted to avoid benzos for the same reason. Tried hydroxyzine for a month. No results. Trazadone didn't do much and left me feeling hungover in the morning. Finally agreed to a low dose (.25 mg) clonzepam and it worked wonders. Fall asleep fast, stay asleep all night, and don't feel drugged up in the morning. Knowing I have something that works has helped ease the anxiety that came with the fear of being up all night. It's been about 5 months and now I don't need to take it often - I'm due for a refill tomorrow and 3/4 of my script is still there. But on those nights I feel the racing anxiety it's been a nice security blanket to have on hand. I don't feel the urge to abuse this stuff, I don't get any euphoria or high, I just get sleep and the ability to wake up functioning."

For Benzodiazepine Withdrawal "6 yrs. ago when my husband died suddenly, my PCP gave me an RX for clonazepam (1 mg) at bedtime to help with my anxiety attacks and as a sleep aid. I had to call her every month for a refill because it is a controlled substance in the U.S. and she warned that I should NOT withdraw quickly. I recently met and married a Canadian man and moved to his country. In becoming established with a new MD I learned that they do not like to Rx clonazepam in here. I had reduced my dose from 1 mg to 1/2 mg and when she asked about my withdrawal symptoms, she felt that I was OK and didn't prescribe more. I suppose that I am OK but my ears are ringing, my skin is burning, I had blazing headaches and severe muscle pain for the first two weeks that I was off of the 1/2 mg dose; I haven't had a good night's sleep since reducing my dose from 1 mg to 1/2 and now to none at all. I am anxious have palpitations and generally feel unwell."

Klonopin (clonazepam) for Panic Disorder "For years I've had obsessive worry and intrusive thoughts accompanied by recurrent and terrifying panic attacks and periods of dissociation. No medications ever worked for me. None of the SSRIs they gave me, none of the SNRIs they tried. Xanax didn't work for me, no matter how much I would take. Nothing would pull me from this dark and terrifying place. I could not have trains of thought, nothing could distract me. I felt as if I was watching my life go by from far away, looking through a foggy window. But after taking 0.25 MG of klonopin once, one single time, I was able to think again. I had trains of thought, I could forget the worry, I didn't panic. I can talk to people, I can travel, I can THINK AGAIN!! I don't have to take it everyday, either. It felt like a factory reset. Like I know there's hope now. I feel like my anxiety has no power over me anymore, but rather, for the first time, I have power of it. Klonopin saved my life."

For Anxiety "I've taken 1mg daily for anxiety and panic attacks for over 20 years. I've never experienced any side effects from Clonazepam. I've tried to stop, and have been successful, but the anxiety and panic attacks return. I live a much better quality of life with it, and I accept that."

For Insomnia "I have had chronic insomnia for 15 years. Tried many things...Benadryl pills at bedtime, Roserem and melatonin, all of which worked for a little while, and then stopped. I was prescribed 1 mg of clonazepam an hour before bedtime, and I find it a miracle pill. I take it a few nights a week and I have had wonderful results. Not being able to fall asleep is terrible for ones life. It leaves you irritable, and unable to function the next day. This medication was truly a lifesaver for me!"

Klonopin (clonazepam) for Panic Disorder "I was diagnosed with panic disorder in June and went through a rough period where I developed agoraphobia and thought I was losing my mind. I’ve dealt with depression and anxiety and had tried 7 antidepressants before developing panic disorder. While having panic disorder, I’ve tried four and the only medication that has not had side effects such as increased anxiety and severe stomach issues is Klonopin. Klonopin saved my life and allowed me to get back to being myself. I can now drive, hang out with friends, leave the house, work effectively and I haven’t noticed any side effects besides being a bit tired and occasional hot flashes (which I had already with PD.) It’s been five months now that I’ve been on 1mg and I haven’t had to increase the dose. I beat myself up because I don’t enjoy the stigma that goes along with benzos and am scared to be on this for years to come but after reading some of these reviews, I feel a lot better about having to take it long term."

Klonopin (clonazepam) for Anxiety "Yes, this medication works. It works very well for chronic anxiety disorder and sudden onsets of severe panic attacks. Knowing what I know now, I wish with all my being it had never ever been prescribed to me, and without the absurd nonchalance dozens of practitioners have portrayed. I'm 32 and have been prescribed clonazopam for 14 years. Ive been in situations where my health insurance is in transition and I must go off the medication abruptly-- this is when I realized how deep I was. Weeks upon weeks of non stop physical, emotional, and psychological withdrawal effects that are like hell. Words cannot accurately describe just how awful it is. This, again, has been my experience during withdrawal as a long term clonazopam patient. All skin, especially the face, becomes numb. Vision gets fuzzy and difficult to see clearly. Panic attacks become extremely exasperated, frequent and debilitating. Severe irritability. Worst of all: a terrifying disconnection between your mind and body; as if you're an onlooker watching and feeling this horrible thing happen to you, but not actually feeling connected to any of it-- that one is tough to explain. All of this... It can lasts months, maybe more. That's right. Not just some one week hump to overcome. After finding how awful the withdrawal is I've been attempting to ween very very slowly down from 3 2mg doses per day to eventually zero, hopefully. After six months of gradually decreases in dose I'm now at 2- 1mg doses per day and I'm not sure how or if I can go much less than that. No doctors I've had have been of any help. The ween down was my idea and the rate of it was also my idea based on experience. It sure would be nice to meet a doctor that truly had knowledge of this withdrawal syndrome and took it a bit more seriously. I am confident that the medication is no longer treating my anxiety disorder, but simply preventing withdrawal from the meds themselves. And there don't seem to be any good alternatives. It's a long road ahead, please think it over and over with someone knowledgeable before being so quick to embrace this miracle drug. The truth is that most of us actually need very real psychotherapy, not chemicals that run our lives. Once again, all my point of view from my personal experience. It feels very good to share this."

For Benzodiazepine Withdrawal "I've been on Klopin for 14 years. Started at 1mg in the beginning and went up 2mg every night to help with sleeping and anxiety. This drug is the most difficult drug to cut back on. I've come off Vicodion, Opiates, Tramadal, and most recently a long term everyday Cocain addiction. By far Klopin is the is the hardest to withdrawal from. I abused Klopin and was taking up to 3.5mg a night and mix that in with Cocaine addiction and withdrawal. To be honest I'm not sure how I never went to the hospital. Unfortunately I have a high tolerance for pills and managed to run a business and maintain a somewhat normal life. On top of everything I'm bipolar with a major addiction problem. Finally decided that I need and want a life without drugs. To everyone going through this process there is a silver lining and the Klopin fog will get better and in return make you a stronger person. A little discomfort but the result is the greatest feeling in the world not having to rely on a pill."

For Anxiety "I've been battling with depression and anxiety for a long time, and have always fought it on my own. I was in a religious abusive home, struggled with school, and was never diagnosed as it was against my parents' religion. I have ADHD, OCD, severe depression, anxiety disorder, and several panic attacks. What pushed me to get help is my 12-year-old brother committed suicide in July of 2023. This pushed me over the edge, and I was having several panic attacks daily. I decided to get help, and clonazepam saved my life. It doesn't get you high. If you truly need it, it will help you feel normal and human again. I'm prescribed 0.5 to 1 mg as needed. I can now go a few days without taking it, and I get no withdrawals. Don't be afraid to get help! It's hard to get help and to admit we need it, but it's worth it. God bless and good luck everyone!"

Klonopin (clonazepam) for Panic Disorder "I just started Klonopin after the doc prescribed it a long time ago. I was scared to take it because of every thing I read. I get terrible anxiety attacks I suffer PTSD and social phobia and depression. 3 days ago I drank my first dose and I am ready to go back to school and start my life again. I thank whoever made this medication and I thank God that gave me the courage to finally take it. It sucks not to feel like you can do anything in life. Now I feel like I can actually pursue my dreams."

For Insomnia "I was talked into Klonopin by my doctor. I was quite resistant to benzodiazepe medications. I take 2 mg at night before bed. This medication has been a life-saver for me. My doctor asked that on some nights that I go down to 1.5mg in order to keep the medication working well. Have been taking it for three years this way, and it works. Sleep is so important, and I have tried everything. Good medication for insomnia."

For Anxiety "Heard such bad things but I'm a chronic pain person and my palliative care doc got that part mostly under control, but I really needed help with anxiety and fear from living this life of constant pain that's permanent. I had tried Ativan, but it left me constantly dopey. My new psychiatrist put me on 0.5 mg 3x day of Clonazepam as needed. It's very helpful, just melts away the worst of the negatives and leaves me almost normal and quite functional after so many wasted years, unnecessary fears, and seemingly endless tears. Don't care if it might be addictive, I've been schooled properly about it. I'm quite old and what's the point of being stoic and miserable when I can take a medication and be so much better. These benzos are no joke, but under the right supervision they can save a quality of life in record time. I wish I had done this years ago. Bingo."

For Anxiety "I have taken Clonazepam for 12 years. To me, it's a miracle. The anxiety and RLS were stopping me from living a full life. Once I had this in my system, I was so relieved. I couldn't believe how good I feel. I know there is a lot of negativity about this med, but I would rather have quality of life than to live how I was. I take it as directed only and I take it 3 to 4 times a week. It has been a lifesaver for me. Don't believe everything you hear and read. They try to scare people who really need this. Take the med and enjoy life. I do and have never looked back!!! I hope all of you are healing and living a full life!!!!"

For Insomnia "Been on clonazapam for 15 years. Used to take 0.5mg a night and it helped me sleep but my dr wanted me to get off of it because it was addictive. I went cold turkey (would not recommend) when I was in-between jobs. It was about 12 really long sleepless panic filled days and nights that I had to get through. Once I did I was ok without any lasting effects. I was off of it for a few months when I started having trouble sleeping again due to anxiety and work stress. I tried everything and nothing worked for me... I said blow this and went back to the clonazepam. Better to be dependent on this than no sleep at all. I am very careful about the dose. Usually .25 a night... if I really need it .5. I can’t sleep without it even if I stop for 1 night. I’m 40 years old and will probably take this forever. But I’ve accepted that. For me it doesn’t have negative effects other than the dependency I have on it. But again, at least I’m sleeping and that’s more important to me."

For Anxiety "This clonazepam has been a godsend for me. I have severe anxiety and possible panic disorder, so whenever I feel really bad anxiety I take 0.5 mg and feel better within 20-35 minutes. It can also help me sleep sometimes, which is a plus. The only con is that if you take this during the day (I've had to many times) you WILL get drowsy. Other than that, this medication has been amazing for me. I'd definitely recommend it, although everybody is different."

Klonopin (clonazepam) for Panic Disorder "I started having panic attacks 7 years ago, when my 3-year-old son had an accident and needed two surgeries. Thank God he recovered, but for me, the panic became worse every day. At one point, I didn't want to leave the house or see people, and I couldn't be alone either, so my mother had to stay with me. I was terrified of taking sertraline and Klonopin, but it came to a point where I was no longer able to take care of my child, my home, my work. So I started the medication, and it helped me become a functional person again. The first days were tough; I felt tired all the time. After two weeks, I started noticing an improvement. Seven years later, I only take 0.5 Klonopin a day and another 0.5 only if I feel too anxious (usually if I'm going through a rough time). I don't care if I have to take Klonopin for the rest of my life as long as it helps me live a full life. Don't be afraid to take the meds if you need them; talk to your doctor and find what's best for you."

For Benzodiazepine Withdrawal "Been on Klonopin for 30 years almost. Took it for problems with OCD and anxiety. Decided to get off it as I feared possible neurological damage. Was on a dose of 1.5mg a day, felt in the end I was just addicted to the drug. Started tapering off from the current 1.5mg level roughly around September of 2019. By early January of 2020, I was down to one half to pill to one pill a day. Hadn't noticed any severe withdrawal symptoms except some minor anxiety, memory issues, some confusion. By middle of January stopped taking any. Did ok for 12 days then the real nightmare began. Had multitude of problems; insomnia, depression, gastrointestinal issues, blood pressure issues, some memory problems, confusion, severe OCD, paranoia, feelings of suicide. My recommendation would be don't use this medication for longer than few weeks at lowest dose possible and only in situations where it's warranted. Myself hopefully I get through it but I wonder about the future."

Klonopin (clonazepam) for Anxiety "This is the drug that was a total game changer for me. I was on effexor and abilify because of severe depression and suicidal ideation (at only 19 :(). While the abilify and effexor helped with the depression, I was extremely anxious, jumpy, panicky, and unable to sleep at all. Klonopin changed all that. I am now able to do anything with no anxiety, no intrusive thoughts, and am visibly much less tense and more relaxed than I have ever been. I can go to work, take public transport, and interact with customers with absolutely NO anxiety anymore. If you sound like me, I highly suggest at least giving this medication a try. It saved my life."

For Insomnia "I have taken clonazepam for years and never realized what great sleep can do for you until I tried to get off my 1 mg. Per night. I had some withdrawal symptoms like muscle jerks. I decided I needed it after having relapses in all three of my autoimmune diseases (Polymyalgia Rhuematica, Inflammation Spondylopathy, and Giant Cell Arteritis). I finally decided lack of sleep was not a good thing for my health. So I went back on 1 mg. I am so glad I did."

For Anxiety "I am 27 years old and my psychiatrist prescribed my Clonazepam 2 years ago when my anxiety and sleep deprivation got out of control. I was prescribed 0.5mg 1-2x daily as needed, but usually taking 1/2-1 (0.25-0.5mg) tablet does the trick. Never had an addiction issue, never had any issues stopping or taking long breaks off of this medication. I don’t abuse it and truly only take the bare minimum as needed. I had tolerance issues with lorazepam and Xanax, where I felt like even after a week, I had to continuously increase my dose, but never with Clonazepam. 0.25-0.5mg is perfect when I do take it. Like with any medication, you just have to be careful and know the risks. I’m grateful that my psychiatrist gave me something that helps. Without this medication I would not be able to function socially, go to work or sleep on my bad days."
