Benzodiazepine Withdrawal is a group of symptoms experienced by patients who have taken benzodiazepines for a period of time and have developed a dependence and try to stop or reduce their dose. Symptoms of withdrawal can include sleep disturbances and rebound insomnia, restlessness, irritability, elevated anxiety, weakness, blurred vision, panic attacks, tremors, sweating/flushing, nausea/vomiting, headache, seizures, psychosis, and hallucinations. In general, benzodiazepines should be discontinued slowly to minimize symptoms.
