For Rheumatoid Arthritis: I'm a 69 yr old woman with seronegative RA - hence it took a long time for a diagnosis. Many rheumatologists do not understand that you can be seronegative & have RA. Sad. After several years of anti inflammatory drugs & cortisone I was prescribed Humira. Took about 2 months & wow! Not so much pain relief but having so much less fatigue. As I live in Australia my experience with obtaining the drug is different to the US. My rheumatologist makes application through the federal government after other drugs have failed & they heavily subsidise. Thus far no obvious side effects. However, reading other's comments I wonder about the flushes at night - never had them as a menopausal symptom...... Wish you all the best in managing RA |

For Ulcerative Colitis, Active: I’m on mesalamine for colitis just wanted to mention the company that makes it will help with the cost I called them directly sent in an application for patient assist I now get it at no cost I work they have different income levels if you are over a certain amount but under a certain amount you pay $50 a month For Ulcerative Colitis, Active: I've encountered ulcerative colitis (UC) at the age of 36. I had symptoms of a bad gallbladder "so the docs thought" did the surgery and 12 hrs later BOOM! The same symptoms occurred. Explosive, painful, bloody diarrhea. Then put on antibiotics for c-dif. Again no progress. So far into 4.5 weeks of my life that were by far the worst. Lost 30+ lbs and couldn't leave my bathroom or couch, my family and I thought I had cancer/dying. Finally after 4.5 weeks and 4 doctors, 3 ER visits and surgery, I finally got a colonoscopy. Loe and behold I've got severe UC, the worst case the doc has ever seen. The whole colon and some look like alien si-fi stuff. Well put on Mesalamine and budesonide and within 7 days my stool is normal 7 out of 10 times, 1 to 2 bowel movements each day and so far no major cramps. I'm going on 5 weeks since I started these and no side effects. So goes to show works for some and not for others |

For Rheumatoid Arthritis: I was using Humira in conjunction with Methotrexate. Both meds were working marvellously, but out of the blue I became sick after each dose of both medications. RA dr took me off the Methotrexate, and it was awhile before restarting Humira. I’ve had 3 injections with no signs of relief, which was significantly different from before. Very discouraged & scared.
