Vortioxetine "I was diagnosed with major depression after years of dealing with terrible Rheumatoid arthritis that has limited my mobility. My doctor prescribed me 3 different antidepressants and after Cymbalta gave me head zaps and my anxiety was causing panic attacks, he switched me to Trintellix. I started on the 5 mg while I was weaning off 60 mg of Cymbalta. The nausea was so bad. I would like to think I have a pretty strong stomach, but this med made me sick like when I was pregnant. I stuck with it and 3 weeks in at 10 mg, I feel fantastic! I'm so glad I stuck with it! I'm laughing again and my motivation is incredible! It was so worth it! If you're debating it, stick with it through the nausea to see if it works for you. I'm truly thankful!"

Vortioxetine "First, I want to start by saying that a majority of the negative reviews are from people coming off a previous antidepressant and starting Trintellix. The 'side effects' you may think are from Trintellix could be withdrawal from your previous antidepressant! I've gone through this six times with switching from one to another, and the withdrawals from the previous medication kick in normally by day three and can last weeks or months depending on the med you're switching off from. With that being said, if possible, always try to give the new med at least a full three months to adjust, and the withdrawals from the previous med should have subsided. I'm not saying some of the side effects aren't from Trintellix, but the majority of the major side effects people feel are withdrawal symptoms. If you stayed reading this long, onto the review. I'm coming off Prozac onto Trintellix. Slight nausea, but nothing major. Take with food. Helps keep the sadness away. Works for me."

Vortioxetine "Trintellix has been the most effective antidepressant I've ever taken. I've been on numerous SSRIs (and one SNRI... not for me, never again). It took the entire four weeks to start working, but once it did, I immediately saw a difference in my MDD symptoms. I described it to a colleague that my depression has lifted completely. I have motivation to get out of bed and take part in social activities again after work. I'm eating normally again and haven't experienced any side effects from the medication. I'm prescribed 10 mg Trintellix and being treated specifically for MDD. Trintellix isn't helpful for my anxiety at all. My psychiatrist identified some preexisting Bipolar II symptoms (mostly mood swings) and has me on a low-dose mood stabilizer, generic Lamictal, to smooth the ups and downs. So far, so good."

Vortioxetine "Best (and most expensive) medication I've ever been on. I've been prescribed every other SSRI, and they gave me side effects of sleepiness and indifference. I have only experienced slight nausea for about 2 hours, 15 minutes after I take my Trintellix. This only lasted the first two weeks. The nausea is the only reason I give this a 9/10. Anxiety and paranoia have been greatly reduced, energy is amazing, and no sleepiness or indifference. I had genetic testing done, and I am deficient in folic acid and don't produce it on my own. I complement the Trintellix with methylfolate by Biotics Lab (Deplin is expensive). I'm happier than I've ever been, and no sexual dysfunctions have happened, so I am extremely thankful for this medication."

Vortioxetine "Have Major Depressive Disorder & PTSD. MAJOR ANXIETY DAILY. LIFE WAS UNBEARABLE. Trintellix 10mg has been a miracle for me. Haven't had suicidal thoughts, I'm able to work again. I can feel the real, happy me. I've also tried many other 'antidepressants' that didn't work well for me. THIS! by FAR, is the best. Worked quickly too. Good luck to all. Also, I am blessed to have the prescriber I do who specializes in PTSD."

Vortioxetine "I have ADHD, anxiety, and depression, and tried many different meds before Trintellix, but nothing really helped in a noticeable way. Trintellix makes the lows of my depression much more shallow and makes it much easier to keep on going instead of fixating on negatives! I use it along with Wellbutrin, which may make a difference. I'm just so glad I was able to find something that works!"

Vortioxetine "I am bipolar and have major depression issues and have been on tons of meds, to the point where I have felt like a pin cushion for these meds. Either they make me so tired I can't do nothing or they just don't work. I started taking Brintellix 3 months ago and I am on 10 mg a day. Side effects, whether I took it with food or not I would throw up almost every day ugh... but on the upside it has made me feel like me again, not miserable and naggy looking at everything in a negative way! The nausea is still there sometimes in the morning but I will take it. So I can cope with everyday issues without freaking out and to be somewhat at peace with myself."

Vortioxetine "I've been diagnosed with double depression, which is a combo of persistent depressive disorder and major depression. I've been on so many medications that this med was my last shot before ECT. I can't believe the difference Trintellix has made in my life. I no longer have to worry about ECT, and I feel good for the first time in 17 years."

"For 6 years I suffered from major anxiety, OCD, and depression - I couldn't eat properly, leave the house, or be left alone. Everything terrified me, and even after years of therapy and doctor's appointments, nothing could help. I was prescribed 10 mg of vortioxetine initially, which I was terrified to take, so the pills sat in my cupboard for 3 weeks while I researched side effects and horror stories. Eventually, I began to read the good reviews on this website, which convinced me to take the medication myself. My dose was increased to 15 mg 2 months after starting, and it has changed my life. I had forgotten what it felt like to live not only a normal life but one without fear and exhaustion, and one that I actually enjoyed! I have now been on it 2 years and cannot recommend vortioxetine enough. I will forever be grateful for having the courage to take it and hope to begin lowering my dosage in the next 6 months. Good luck xxx"

Vortioxetine "I tried getting off of Effexor for a while, but withdrawals were bad. Lowering the dosage while increasing with Trintellix helped. 5 mg was fine. 10 mg was hard to get used to: nausea, diarrhea, really tired. I was also very itchy, but all of these symptoms went away after a week or two. One thing to note, I was a smoker and after a week of being on 10 mg, I can't stand smoking and quit. I also can't stand soda anymore. So, I am in love with this drug."

Vortioxetine "This medication has changed my life. For me, the cons are: I have energy to go, go, go, which I have never had. I feel happy for the first time ever. My panic attacks have completely stopped. I look forward to my future. I am so calm with everyone, where I was being very hateful and snappy before, and I am no longer afraid everyone is watching me every time I go in any public setting. I have not experienced any side effects. If you need a motivating, calming, make-you-feel-happy med, I suggest Trintellix. Diagnosis: PTSD, Major Depression Disorder, borderline personality disorder, OCD, and anxiety."

Vortioxetine "I have had MDD for over 10 years now, and I have been on Venlafaxine XR, Prozac, Cymbalta, and other medications. I have recently been switched to Trintellix because nothing else is helping. I tried to do yoga, Pilates, and daily exercise along with a keto diet. I read the other reviews, and I was very nervous before I started taking this. I thought this was not going to be a good medicine for me, but so far I have had zero side effects! I am on 10 mg for two weeks, and then I go to 20 mg. So we will see how long it takes to work out, but so far it’s not bad. I even got nausea meds just to be safe, but I have zero side effects! So that’s definitely a big plus! Other meds have made me gain 40 pounds and didn’t help. Every person is different, so I’m just trying to be a positive person based on my experience so far. Be safe and stay positive!"

Vortioxetine "I had given up that there was any drug that could lift me out of the recurring cycles of clinical depression. I had tried dozens of medications over the years, some worked for a time but I came to the point that my depression was at least I thought untreatable. This last bout had me down in bed for nearly 2 months. I was 'blessed' to stumble upon Trintellix after my wife had recommended it after seeing it transform one of her patients. The key is it takes a very long time to work and you must be patient. I am now almost 6 weeks in and the depression has completely lifted and feeling better every day. Yes, there are side effects.. headaches, insomnia and confusion but they go away. This drug saved my life! Give it 6-8 weeks at minimum!"

Vortioxetine "I have tried a few anti-depressants over the years since my 20s, like Celexa, Cymbalta, Lexapro (not good for me), Wellbutrin (not good for me in combination with Cymbalta), and now, Trintellix. I did the genetic testing after my experience on Trintellix and found that I have a genetic expression where my brain does not utilize serotonin very well due to fewer receptor sites (SSRIs are not good for me-it's the SLC6A4 gene if you are curious). Trintellix has a very high effect on serotonin receptor sites, so I did not do well on it at all. I had racing/hypo-manic thoughts, itching, higher appetite with food and sex, tinnitus, loose stools, insomnia, nausea, and very high energy. I would highly recommend doing the genetic test through your PCP or psychiatrist/nurse practitioner to determine your specific needs due to your specific genetics. Not every medication will work for everyone, and reviews can only tell us so much."

Vortioxetine "I have been taking Trintellix for about five years. I have been on so many antidepressants that I cannot count them all. Trintellix has worked the best for me and for the longest period of time. I have not had any of the side effects that are listed, and it has been beneficial for my sex drive. However, in the past two months, it has not been working as well. I've felt more down and depressed, and I had to add more sleeping meds to those I was already taking, as well as add more meds for my ADHD. My doctor is switching me to Viibryd (vilazodone) for a period of time to see if that will change things. The plan is to move back to Trintellix then. Overall, though, Trintellix is a medication I have tolerated well and one that has worked well for me over one of the longest time periods. When I was laid off from my job and my husband was only working part-time, the manufacturers of Trintellix had a program called 'Help a Hand,' which provided the meds free of charge for a year."

Vortioxetine "This is my second experience with taking Trintellix for my depression, severe anxiety, and mood swings. The first time was 6 years ago, and I can only say thank God for this medication because I saw color again in everyday life after 12 years of paralyzing depression not being controlled with my Effexor after 10 years on it. I only got to do 2 months' worth of the Trintellix back then because my insurance wouldn't cover it. I had to stop taking it because of the cost. This past week, I was given the opportunity to go back on it, and have my script covered for free through a grant-funded program where I live, and I have once again had the most beautiful improvement after just 1 week of taking the 10 mg! This truly is a lifesaving medication for me and my whole mental state, giving me the passion and energy back that I had lost for everything I used to enjoy and love. Nausea the first 3 days until I started halving the 10 mg pill, half in the morning, the other half at night for about 4 days."

Vortioxetine "This medication has helped me so much! I tried Prozac, Zoloft, and Lexapro before starting this medication. I felt much better in about 3 days with Trintellix. It is so nice to have more focused energy and be able to function again at work as well as having fun with my kids again. Great medication!"

Vortioxetine "It was very difficult titrating up to 20 mg of Trintellix. I started at 5 mg one week, 10 mg the next week, 15 mg the following week until I reached 20 mg. The nausea, vomiting, and dizziness were almost unbearable, I missed 2 days each week for a month while starting it. Thankfully I was on FMLA and was able to muscle through it. I have been through almost every SSRI, SNRI, etc., and nothing but electroconvulsive therapy worked for me. After the first week on Trintellix, I felt happy for the first time, actually happy, which is why I muscled through the side effects. I have been on it for a year now, and it is a miracle pill. Make it through the first month, and all side effects go away."

Vortioxetine "I started taking this medication a little over 3 months ago after trying/failing to successfully taper myself off Lexapro. Lexapro was a great med for treating anxiety for several months, but when depression hit, Lexapro did not seem to be helping. My doctor had me switch to Trintellix, and I have been amazed at the result. Suicidal ideations are now small enough to ignore, and most of the time I can lift myself out of my down moods. I don't think 5 mg is quite enough, so I will be asking for 10 mg soon. If anyone is on the fence about this drug, I say give it a shot. I was really skeptical, and the first time my doc suggested it, I gave him a hard no in response. I finally tried it when he suggested it a second time, and I do not regret it. Also, my pharmacist found a really great discount coupon...I believe it was through the drug company itself."

Vortioxetine "I've been on everything for depression, you name it: Zoloft, Prozac with add-ons like Buspar and/or mirtazapine, Abilify added to that mix, but nothing has worked till I tried Trintellix, and I do my extensive research since I study psychopharmacology. Anyway, this has been about 80% improvement. The only main side effect is a mild hypomania, or what I call a good mood and productive, and some jitteriness, like I'll have to pace sometimes. Helped my working memory, I can remember numbers better, but also events I can remember better."

"Just hit the 4-week mark and I feel more like me, not artificially happy, just me. Didn't experience the heavy side effects, some days stomach discomfort, one day on week 3 mild nausea, and that's it. Been on 10mg. I'm making plans for Christmas and New Year's, no longer staying in bed or on the couch for endless hours, doing more of the things I used to like, going to the stadium to see my team, playing my instruments, doing my Legos, arranging and cleaning the house, keeping up on work and deadlines. I have MDD, anxiety, and ADHD, and it has helped with all of them. There are still residual feelings sometimes in the background, but nothing major. I started to feel better by week 3, and now it's been 10 normal days. I'm not happy and euphoric all the time, just normal, except when called for. For me, it's the meds for the cerebral and physical issues, and the therapy for the emotional issues. It has to be both, along with better sleep. I hope it works for you as it has for me."

Vortioxetine "I've been on Trintellix now for 6 weeks. I started on 1/2 of a 5mg tablet because I hadn't tolerated any other SSRI. I increased to 5mg about 3 weeks ago. I've found a newfound hope in life. I had constipation, but increased my fiber intake, started on Benefiber daily, increased water consumption, and even had the desire to exercise, which also helps. I'm sold on this medication. I haven't felt this good in years!"

Vortioxetine "I am a 42-year-old mother. I have been depressed all of my life. Never been happy more than a few weeks at a time. I have tried a few different meds but no real change. I would also self-medicate with alcohol. At least once a week, I would get too drunk, I would black out. As you probably figured, that caused a lot of problems in itself. I started taking Trintellix 6 months ago, and I have NEVER been so happy in my entire life! I love it! It really changed my life for the better. No more drinking at all. I'm so happy, and my family has also seen the change and are more happy."

Vortioxetine "I'm a 25-year-old woman with major depressive disorder and social anxiety for 8 years (with episodes of agoraphobia). Trintellix solved my major depressive disorder in almost 3 weeks!!! I was very skeptical about the antidepressant meds, but this changed my view about it. I'm very happy with this antidepressant. I feel nauseated at times, but compared with the symptoms of depression, it's negligible. Of course, this is not a magic bullet, changes in your lifestyle are required: exercise, healthy food, no drinking or smoking... Hope this med helps you :)"

Vortioxetine "I have been on 10 mg Trintellix for nine weeks. I also take Risperidone and Buspirone. I was on Viibryd before I started this drug. I have had MDD for 24 years and have been on many antidepressants. Trintellix is by far the best I've been on. I had a little bit of nausea and vomiting, but really no side effects other than that. The side effects went away after the first three days. Trintellix has regulated my sleep and given me so much more energy and zest for life."
