Armour Thyroid (thyroid desiccated) "Been on Armour Thyroid for 2 plus years. I have never felt this miserable in all my life. Except NP thyroid. Synthroid and levothyroxine helped with numbers. Didn't fight the brain fog, lethargy, and annoying side effects. I have been living in nightmare for over 2 years be on this medicine. I've been suicidal, continued if not worse brain fog, hair, skin and nails. My whole body is not functioning anymore. Functional medicine people push this like drug pushers. Tried compounded thyroid as well. What a joke. These drugs seem to be a joke. Haven't been able to work full time in 8 years. Dr took me off estrogen and this is what happened to me. Hypothyroid, functional medicine drs didn't pay enough attention to the numbers, I kept telling them over and over again, now I have Hashimotos, and feel like rubbish. Functional medicine is a joke. But armour and NP are the biggest joke. Have no clue where I will be going next on this nightmare journey. Good for you all that feel better on this medication."

Armour Thyroid (thyroid desiccated) "I was on Synthroid for 1 1/2 years I gained 10 pounds and had anxiety. For the first year I had full trust in my doctor, but later I was not feeling right. I had memory fogs, anxiety, and my weight was a problem. I used to be a size 4 and now I am a size 12. That alone was depressing. I took charge and researched Hashimotos Disease. I later told my doctor that I wanted to go on Armour and that I was done with Synthroid. He said okay and put me on a 60mg 30mg because he thought we would have to adjust it. Well here I am a year later taking 60mg 30mg and 10 pounds less without working out."

Armour Thyroid (thyroid desiccated) "I took this medicine Armour Thyroid prior to 2015 with excellent results- 6 weeks ago I went back on it because NP Thyroid had been reformulated. I had a bad reaction to Armour both the 45 mg and 90 mg tablets- I could no longer get up in the morning- naps at 2- severe rash on fingers and scalp-anxious- depressed- not sleeping-I am in adrenal fatigue- can’t think straight. I don’t know if these reformulations are a way to push people towards synthetic? Or some new fillers have been added? Or the pig thyroid is being processed differently? My main concern is my symptoms became much more pronounced with in days of taking it and it was to the point where I could not function at 20% of my prior activity level-also the medicine seemed to be very uneven in consistency- I had several pills almost send me speeding and 95% of the other ones put me in bed. TSH which had been in normal range for 11 years plummeted to the edge of 0."

Armour Thyroid (thyroid desiccated) "I was on Synthroid for 18 months. Couldn't walk, because of water retention so after reading about Armour decided to try it. The doctor didn't want to prescribe it. However, I insisted, and he gave it to me. Wow what a difference , within two days. All the water retention the Synthroid caused was gone and I am now on it for years. So glad I got my life back."

NP Thyroid (thyroid desiccated) "I am in a hashimoto's support group and there's a big red flag right now about acella's np thyroid. People are reporting a return to hypo symptoms, and that the pills have changed in smell, appearance and taste. I know I was feeling great but as of my mid-summer refill, have gone downhill with symptoms. Acella says they haven't changed anything. Then why are the pills different (size and has flecks in appearance)? This would be the 4th ndt thyroid med to suddenly change and sending goodness knows how many people back into sickness. Don't let this go unresearched!"

NP Thyroid (thyroid desiccated) "Switched from Nature throid to NP Thyroid last summer and was delighted, it worked great. However, this new refill, obtained fall of 2019, has been terrible. My body exhausted, my brain non-functional: all my symptoms came roaring back with a vengeance. Scary. I read somewhere they were getting their raw material (pig thyroid) from a new supplier, which clearly is not working. Please get it together, NP, you are losing customers in droves."

Armour Thyroid (thyroid desiccated) "I went 5 miserable years with undiagnosed, Hashimoto disease for which I was told it was all in my head & prescribed synthroid & antidepressants. Now that I'm on Armour, I have made significant improvements in my health & I no longer have the 'brain fog' & chronic fatigue."

Armour Thyroid (thyroid desiccated) "Been diagnosed with Hashimoto's for over a decade, and started out taking 90 mcg of levothyroxine. As my disease progressed I had to take more and more, and was up to 150 mcg when I started feeling bad: sick and depressed had trouble sleeping. Blood tests showed that my t3's were low, and I had been flogging my t4's to produce more t3's. This may be one of the symptoms of Hashimoto's: an inability to convert t4 into t3. Not a doctor, don't know, but switching to Armor a month ago has made a huge difference in my health. I am not getting those cramps in my hands and feet at the end of the day, and my energy has gone way up. It's still too early to know for sure...one month isn't much....but so far so good!"

Armour Thyroid (thyroid desiccated) "I love Armour! I was taking Levothyroxine and felt so awful. My body ached, I was ill. My thyroid doctor refused to change my medication so I went to my primary and after my first dose I felt 90 percent better."

NP Thyroid (thyroid desiccated) "Manufacturer clearly changed the formulation. Ingredients are different and it doesn't work--I hate when they do this. In 2017-18 they did it to NatureThroid and before that they changed Armour several times. People rely on this medication and manufacturers could CARE LESS! Awful!"

Armour Thyroid (thyroid desiccated) "I have taken Armour thyroid for 30+ years after Synthroid did not work. In the spring of 2020 I began to feel terrible. Headache, tiredness, pain in my joints , no energy at all. My IM ran thyroid panel in me. Everything normal ( I don’t think he ran antibodies). I asked him to switch me to WP thyroid. He did and within weeks I started to feel like my old self. That lasted for 6 months and WP thyroid was pulled from the market. I had to go back on Armour Thyroid. All my previous symptoms are back and I feel terrible again. I am SURE that Allergan has reformulated Armor thyroid. We must report and complain to the FDA to get RLC labs preparations back on the market."

Armour Thyroid (thyroid desiccated) "Today is Sept 8 of 2022, I have had them all from expensive Tirosint SOL to pathetic Synthroid generics. They all have terrible side effects that I can't handle. Lately I've been guinea pig to Armour Thyroid for the past year and guess what? I've been pushed to see a psychiatrist because of the anxiety, depression, insomnia and panic attacks it's caused me. I was fine on NP Thyroid for 2 years before the big distributors and politicians decided to stick their greedy hands in what did not involve THEIR own health. Ever since the 2020 downfall, I have been forced to anti-depressants and counselling .. as if 'WE' THE PATIENTS have no absolute idea what our bodies feel like after living in it for yay-years or changing medications. And surviving covid wasn't difficult enough. For now, I am stuck with anxiety, chests pains on/off, depression and somewhat hair loss. If anyone knows a better remedy ... please pass it on. Best of luck to everyone out there still fighting the uphill war."

Armour Thyroid (thyroid desiccated) "Like many others I received diagnosis after getting so bad that I could barely walk, couldn't get out of a chair without rolling over to the arm and pulling/pushing myself out. Was prescribed synthetic and got a bit better but my hair started falling out and got headaches. I started the research & insisted on the Armour. Huge difference., esp mental performance. I make my living doing analyses on high risk complex things. It was so wonderful to get my brain back. I had some help from a naturopathic Dr who suggest that I add supplements to address any adrenals damage (adrenal rebuilders). Final step has been traditional Chinese Medicine and I am now almost off the Armour, too. Western med will tell you thyroid is a lifelong path. Maybe."

NP Thyroid (thyroid desiccated) "I'm here today to find out if anyone else has noticed a urine-like taste/smell from their NP Thyroid tabs lately? I've been taking NP Thyroid for years now, and I feel as well on this almost as well as I did on Nature Throid, which is my overall favorite. But I never tasted this before. My thyroid journey: Nature Throid was unavailable in my area for a quite a while and did Armour, but it was expensive, so I was offered NP. All of the natural options have made me feel better than Synthroid EVER did in the 17 years I took that. No one checked my free T3 back then, nor told me I had an autoimmune disorder. My doctor just said you have an underactive thyroid, here, take Synthroid."

Armour Thyroid (thyroid desiccated) "I have been on Armour since 1999 except for the time a few years ago when it wasn't available. Have had good luck with it until last year and started experiencing a dry mouth, clenching/snapping jaw, extreme hair loss, nausea at night, and extreme insomnia. Armour is the only medication I take, and I take no supplements. I think there is a serious problem with this medication that is not being addressed."

NP Thyroid (thyroid desiccated) "If I could list -1 as a rating. I would. Proceed with caution with this medication. I did not know what was happening me until I spoke with two mutual friends over the holiday weekend. The confusion, depression, exhaustion, unable to sleep, rapid heart beat is the short list. I started NP Thyroid in May of 2019 and reached out to my doctor to switch me back to my RX in October. I've been on my old script for less that a month but my symptoms are still present. Gained 15lbs quickly and joint pains are overwhelming.... my life has been affected! Be Careful...please!"

Nature-Throid (thyroid desiccated) "I was on levothyroxine for over 30 years. This past year i felt like I had been hit by a bus when I woke up in the morning. No energy to do anything, aches and pains in hips, legs and shoulders. I went to my doc and asked her to change my medication to Nature Throid after hearing about it from a friend who has Hoshimoto's. Thankfully my doc agreed and after a few days, my energy was back, the aches and pain are gone. I finally feel human again. I had no side effects. I wish this drug was available years ago. My levo was expensive for a 90 day supply with insurance ($40), now it is only $17 for the same 90 day supply of Nature-Throid."

NP Thyroid (thyroid desiccated) "I started out on WP and after the shortage I switched to NP. My life has been great. I lost 40 pounds and felt completely normal after going gluten and dairy free along with NP. I got my refill last week and got so sick after just one dose. I react like there’s something I have an intolerance to. My throat burns and my stomach hurts plus the nausea all day. I cannot eat. I had my doctor switch me to Armour but with all my intolerances plus Celiac my abdomen blew up and I was so bloated I felt like I couldn’t breathe. I honestly don’t know what to do now. I feel like I was just given a death sentence. This is so wrong. Acella needs held accountable for this. Stop playing with lives!!! I called them and the person I spoke to did admit they changed things. I was told they changed their supplier of the active ingredient of pig thyroid. She wouldn’t say where they now get it. Who knows. "

Westhroid had me feeling like myself within a week. Synthroid had me miserable, nauseous, constant headaches. Westhroid is for me. I am glad I went the biologic way and I am taking my health back."

Armour Thyroid (thyroid desiccated) "I have been on armor 180mg almost 11 years I Tried Synthroid first. My TSH was 195 I was 26. When I started it put me into a a MAJOR craze I still don’t know what. It felt like I had bugs crawling in my skin and can’t stress enough how horrible it was. I feel like the last 10 years of my life are a blur I just kind of tolerated it I lost the weight I gained. Way too terrified to try any other medication after what I went through I just dealt with it. Fast forward to 2019 I FEEL TERRIBLE despite my TSH actually being a little hyper because of suppressing my goiter I got from my TSH being 195 I now have gained 50 pounds my hair is now falling out again I’m sore everywhere. I barely get out of bed I can’t think remember anything vision is rapidly declining I am in such bad shape that I’m actually going to the doctor to ask him to switch me to a T4 only medication to see if this helps I can’t take being bed ridden anymore it’s got to the point to where I can not even work anymore."

NP Thyroid (thyroid desiccated) "This medication has done wonders for me, good and bad. My energy level went up and I lost a ton of weight. I’m actually underweight now. But over the past month my mental health has suffered greatly. I’m so depressed and anxiety ridden. I blow up over everything and just feel utterly hopeless. It’s scary how much I don’t care about anything anymore. Is there anyone else that feels this way?? I honestly don’t know if it’s my regular life stress or this medication."

I’ve gained almost 10 pounds, my joints hurt, the medicine smells and tastes horrid. I don’t know what they did but they did some thing. If I complain to my doctor she’s going to stick me back on Synthroid and I’m going to get even sicker. Please fix this."

Armour Thyroid (thyroid desiccated) "Four years of misery thinking I had food allergies when I was allergic to the FILLERS in the Armour thyroid medication. The side effects included: 2 different rashes on my scalp and behind my ears, excessive sugar cravings, depression, suicidal thoughts, after eating my stomach hurt all the time, couldn't eat anything without getting diarrhea. I went to several doctors and not one suspected the Armour thyroid medication. I figured it out! When I stopped taking it the side effects went away immediately! The rashes a little longer but started clearing up right away. Now, I'm trying the thyroid hormone ONLY without fillers. The interesting thing is my insurance won't pay for it because it comes from a compounding pharmacy not BIG PHARMA."

Armour Thyroid (thyroid desiccated) "i have Hashimotos thyroiditis. United Health care & Medicare says Armour Thyroid is not covered by them. I was on Armour thyroid for 15years. My insurance made me try other meds.I tried other thyroid meds including Nature Throid. I put on 48 lbs under Nature Throid my body was tired I was dizzy & could not function & had incontinence. I now am back on Armour thyroid feeling better everyday & decreasing in weight & other symptoms are gone. But have to pay for it myself & since I am on Social Security it is a big expense. Thanks Armour thyroid"
