"I was disappointed when my midwife prescribed terconazole cream for my YI. I've never had success with OTC creams like Monistat before so I expected the same. I prefer fluconazole because the pill always works for me, but I'm pregnant and can't currently take it. My cream was the 3 day .8% intravaginal suppository. By day 2 most of my symptoms were gone, and by day 3 I had no symptoms. The leaking of cream after insertion was not an issue for me, not much actually drained out anyway, and besides I'd rather deal with cream drainage than itchiness and burning any day. I did experience nausea in the mornings, but again, I'm pregnant so it could've been unrelated to the medication. Terconazole worked great for me, I'd use again if needed."

"While using the 3 day dose I experienced headaches on the second night dose. Also On my first and second dose, every now and then I would get a itching sensation. Third was pretty OK. I'm on my forth dose now because I had some cream left over.. hopefully this last one does the job completely. Plus I've been eating yogurt... (First yeast infection)."

"I had no side effects with this medication! I had the three day dose, and it was a little intimidating due to the size of the applicator but it didn't hurt or burn at all. Cleared my infection right up. Would definitely recommend! But just make sure to do it right before bed, because it will come out a little."

"After fighting a stubborn yeast infection for 6 months, my doctor FINALLY prescribed me something that worked. After reading the reviews I was a little skeptical about whether or not it would work. One week free...the longest remission I've had in 6 months."

"I am 7 months pregnant and had a YI. Last time (4 months ago with my last infection) I took Monistat 7 day it was torture. It burned and kept me awake for hours. Fast forward to Terconazole. I told my doctor about the torture and he prescribed me this instead. I'm on the 7 day. So far no burning, and my YI symptoms are gone. Yeah, it's messy. But all the 7 day creams are messy. I'll take the mess for the soothing reaction-less healing of Terconazole."

"It is my first duagnozed yeast infection. I went to doctor after one mild and two extremely itchy nights( itch started on Saturday and I saw the doctor on Tuesday). I decided to wait for a few days before using the medication, and although itching was never as bad as night 2 & 3 I decided to try the medication as my quality of life was going down and my days consumed by this matter and I was having a bit of discharge although I had none at the beginning. I started medication exactly one week after I first felt itching. I was prescribed 7 nights of taro terconazole 0.4% and two doses of fluconazole -150 ( one tablet to be taken 14 days later). This combination has worked for me and now 13 days from day 1 of itching I feel completely normal"

"I’ve had chronic yeast infection for years, and for me this is the only medication that’s worked for me. My doctor did a 6 week treatment of diflucan, 2 other creams, and monistat to find they kept coming back. Now, after having had surgery to fix the damage the infections did over the years, I always request for Terconazole if I have one. Recently I got another because of too many antibiotics (other issues), and I asked for Terconazole because after years of suffering, that is the only cream I know works for me. I will say though, that the first few days create a burn/irritation quite a bit, the tube likes to overflow almost uncontrollably after filling the applicator, and the feeling of walking around for 7 days as if I was on a very heavy period with something there isn’t fun, but it is bearable. Definitely plan on using this again if ever need be and recommend it!"

"I’m using terconazole in the 3-day dosage form. Immediately felt cramping and then had bloody discharge. The pain and burning did not subside, rather I became more sensitive and inflamed. I’m taking my 3rd dosage today, but so far I hate this product and wish I took a pill instead (which used to work for me in the past)."

"After my first dose of the 3 day suppositories, the next day I was hit with high fever, chills, headache, and body aches. I didn't think it was the medicine, so I continued. The next day was worse. So bad I had to go to the ER. I did finish the medicine and still have symptoms. Will not use again."

"I was prescribed 2 doses of the metronidazole pills then the cream after months of having reoccurring BV. It never worked.... Creepy swollen vulva, it felt like I had dead tissue. Itching was unbearable. My vagina no longer produced moisture just rubber like discharge that seemed to be greenish yellow(no STDS).... Needless to say I've never seen anything like it before! But after just one day of using this cream I'm practically back to normal. I will continue my treatment until its gone. I personally had no side effects at all. Only thing is is that the cream does come out so I suggest wearing a pantiliner and changing it once it becomes soiled"

"I’m currently 4 months pregnant I use terconazole for the first time last night for a yeast infection. When I peed I start having bad sharp pains and my stomach. I didn’t even use it a second time because of the pain. I honestly wouldn’t even rate this a one but I have no choice just to add a review. It causes terrible pain in to stomach to the point I was scared I thought I was having contractions I will never use this ever again."

"Day two out of three. So far so good. Light green discharge disappeared the morning after the first dose. The itchiness is still very much here. I can’t sleep. Other than that no other symptoms so far."

"Was prescribed 3 days after Diflucan didn't work for me. The first night was fine, but on the second day I began feeling feverish and a severe headache. I thought it that would be the worst of it so used the second dose, and in the middle of the night I woke up shaking, sweating, high fever, and chills. Thought I was dying, felt like a horrible flu. Could not continue this medication - the absolute worst. I NEVER have side effects with medication, and this was a nightmare. "

"I was scared from the reviews of terconazole at first, so first day I only inserted a little of the cream to see if it was gonna burn like the Monistat but it didn’t . Love it ... took my symptoms away by day 2 ... currently on day 5 and I would use this cream again for a yeast infection that stagnant and won’t go away with the pill."

"I haven't had many YIs in my life.... But lately it seems I've had them more frequently. I am on birth control and am 41 and figure my hormones are changing. This last time I tried the usual Diflucan pill bc that has always worked in the past. It seemed to clear up all of my symptoms until a week later I tried to have sex and the pain was just horrible. I went to my gyn and he prescribed 3 day terconazole .8% vaginal suppositories. I was nervous because I have had horrible experiences with monistat and other suppositories but the terconazole didn't bother me much at all! A little stinging the first night but nothing unbearable. 2 days have passed now since I finished the 3 nights script (5 days since I began the medicine) and I feel 98% better!!! Praying it doesn't return (the only reason I didn't give a 10 rating... Waiting to see if it completely goes away)."

"Got diagnosed with BV and dr gave me metronidazole vaginal gel - that was awful! I did it for three nights and woke up each night in so much pain I couldn’t sleep. Swollen, itchy, super irritated!! Went back to my dr and he prescribed me terconazole cream. I was super skeptical at first because I didn’t want to go through the same experience but of course I'm going to trust my dr.. if he says it’ll make it better then it should make it better right ? .. WRONG! The first night of applying the creme and I got the same symptoms, if not worse than before ! Only had it in for two hours and it woke me out of dead sleep to the itching and burning pain. Never again will I use any type of creme. Worst experience of my life."

"I was 6 weeks pregnant when I started having burning and itching of my privates. My obgyn prescribed terconazole, 3 day regimen. It worked like magic, by the second day of use I was feeling relieved. Less itch and burning sensation. Now a year after, yeast infection returned, I'm currently using it again n hopefully will be better."

"I was put on Terazol 0.8% after my results came back showing I had a yeast infection. My GYN had noticed some discharge prior prescribing me Terazol. First day went okay but my second day I noticed some discomfort. I had a little bit of irritation/burning but was told by my provider that's normal & continue the medication. By my 3rd day after inserting my last dose I still noticed the same symptoms as day two. I hope this last dose of it zaps this YI away! I will come back with an update."

"I have had constant struggle with yi during pregnancy. I used it for 10 days. It burned for a few days for me because I was raw and irritated from how bad the itching was. As soon as I applied and inserted this cream it burned and itched for a while but cleared up my yi fast. Personally I like the pill 1 time dose better but wear a pad or liner. Don't have sex while using this it will burn your partner!!!!"

"Currently 4 months pregnant, Doctor found “traces of yeast” in my vagina and prescribed me this . Took my first dose yesterday. For the first 10 minutes , I was completely fine ... then after that... I got a weird sensation that didn’t wanna make me get out of bed . I curled up in a ball just to make it stop. Skip forward to today... I felt fine until I peed... Now before taking this medicine I wasn’t feeling no type of burning or discomfort..it felt like a burning sensation with what looked like light spotting. I didn’t take another dose... will be talking to my doctor about this.."

Started taking probiotics as well but after the first night of using, woke up to no burning or itching. I was worried because of the reviews but so far no side effects and hopefully this gets rid of my problem for good."

"Awful experience. I got a yeast infection over a week ago from use of an antibiotic. I originally had mild irritation and major yeast build up and first treated it with Monistat. The yeast build up and discharge went away temporarily and returned within a few days so I called the gyn to get prescribed something more effective. Prior to using the medication I actually noticed less discharge and less irritation but decided I would still use as recommended to insure the YI was gone. Worst decision, I used the cream before bed at 10pm had no side effects went to sleep. Woke up at 2am to use the bathroom immediately after using the bathroom I had severe burning and itching and could not fall back to sleep due to pain. Decided to look up reviews and side effects and to my surprise many women are suffering from this medication. I immediately sat on the toilet for 30mins to allow the medication to leak out and took a shower. Feeling much better and itching and burning is subsiding."

"I was prescribed this medication for a yeast infection. After ONE suppository, the burning was ridiculous. I went to get checked out by my Dr. the next day and she said I'd experienced what looked like a chemical burn. It basically looked like I'd been sandpapered from the inside out (felt like it too). After 2 weeks, I'm still healing and dealing with burning pain from a reaction to this medication. My tests are normal, so no infection, but now my Dr. feels I need to try vaginal estrogen to counteract the dryness. This wasn't an issue before this happened. This medication needs to be taken OFF the market."
