"I’m 30 weeks pregnant, and I have BV and YI. I was prescribed Metronidazole cream and Terconazole. My doctor said to take the BV cream first, then the YI, I think to kill the smell. I’m currently on Day 3, I take the last dosage tonight, and I never experienced itching or discomfort. The only side effect is the discharge. I’m not sure if it’s the medicine or the yeast coming out of me, but I have to wear a panty liner to protect my underwear. I’m more comfortable now after reading everyone’s reviews."

"My doctor prescribed me this for a mild yeast infection, and little did I know it would set me on fire and make me miserable to where I didn't sleep all night. Not to mention the horrible cramps I had as well. I will never use this medicine again!!"

"This is the meanest, diabolical cream. Not sure what sick experiment this is. Do not believe good reviews, probably someone from the drug company. I had instant cramping, burnt the inside of me and the outside. Did not work! Report to Health Canada, the company itself, or FDA. Needs to go!"

"I have had vaginal issues for 3 weeks, tried to wait it out for one week, went to the doctor for a pill the second week, then they gave me terconazole. I have not been able to sleep since it started three weeks ago, but with the terconazole, I feel like I am absolutely on fire. I took the third dose, hoping that would stop, but it is worse now than the first night. I switched to a different plunger because the one provided had sharp edges and was very painful to use. The other plunger worked great, but the burning is just unbearable, and I woke up sick this morning. I didn't connect it to the medication until now. I got dizzy and nauseous feeling, and the burning is horrible."

"I have a mild yeast infection, where I only experience irritation and a little itch here and there! I was prescribed terconazole 0.4, my first time ever having a yeast infection (21-year-old), and the first night I put the cream in (very easy to put in, just put it into the syringe, place it into your vag, and release cream), it worked wonders! It relieved the irritation and itch right away! Now it's day 2, and I don't have irritation at all, just still an itch here and there! I have to use the cream for 5 more days and will update every day."

"I was prescribed the 7-day dosage for my yeast infection, and it was going great! Then, on like the 4th day, I had the WORST cramps. My period cramps aren’t even this bad. It came to the point where I’d constantly wake up in the middle of the night because of the pain. It seems to be helping with my yeast infection, but these cramps are not worth it."

"I've tried anything and everything for yeast infections as I get recurrent ones (not due to an underlying cause other than my vagina is moody), but terconazole is the best. I've tried boric acid, gentian violet, clotrimazole, Diflucan... all work OK, but terconazole is the best, in my opinion. The only downside is the first few days (I do the 7 days), it makes the itch worse, feels like a bunch of mosquito bites down there, but it kicks the infection for a while and it makes me a little tingly. Doesn't cure it fully for me as my infections come back, but I don't really have any side effects from it, and it's cheap! Only $15 with insurance... plus I heard Monistat burns, so I've stayed far away from that."

"Day 3, and the medication so far has not worked for me. I use it as directed, but all it does is instantly ooze out of me. Now my skin in that area is very red and irritated. So, once the YI passes, I will now need something to soothe my irritation."

"Night 2 and the same thing happened on night 1. I wet the bed! I have completely peed my bed, two nights in a row. This is not what I normally do! It has to be the cream inside me confusing my bladder? I put it in at night, right before I go to bed. I'm a mother of a two-year-old, and I have to change both of our sheets now. Ugh! Anyone else had/have this happen to them?"

"I was prescribed the 3-day treatment for a yeast infection (I had very mild symptoms but noticed more discharge than usual and felt like I always had to pee - no itchiness). My doctor said I had a vaginal infection. After taking the 3rd dose of terconazole, the discharge is gone, however, I now have severe itchiness inside and still have the frequent urge to urinate. My bladder or something inside feels like it’s throbbing every time I urinate then for hours after. It’s the weekend, so I’m having to wait to speak with my doctor on next steps. I’ve never experienced discomfort like this, and based on the reviews, I’m guessing these side effects are not normal or maybe my doctor was wrong and I have a urinary infection."

"Got diagnosed with BV, and Dr. gave me metronidazole vaginal gel - that was awful! I did it for three nights and woke up each night in so much pain I couldn’t sleep. Swollen, itchy, super irritated! Went back to my Dr. and he prescribed me terconazole cream. I was super skeptical at first because I didn’t want to go through the same experience, but of course, I'm going to trust my Dr. If he says it’ll make it better, then it should make it better, right? Wrong! The first night of applying the cream, and I got the same symptoms, if not worse than before! Only had it in for two hours, and it woke me out of dead sleep to the itching and burning pain. Never again will I use any type of cream. Worst experience of my life."

"Went to my doctor. She prescribed me a 3-day suppository. On the first night of me taking it, I woke up with a dizzy feeling, real nauseous. I didn't think much of it because my daughter was getting over a cold. On night 2 of my taking it, I woke up in the middle of the night in a cold sweat, shivering, whole body sore, not able to move my neck, headache that won't go away no matter what I take. I'll never use this medicine again. I'm at the ER right now because I feel so terrible. This is the worst pain I've ever been in in my life. Hoping this helps someone. Don't risk your health with this stuff."

"Awful experience. I got a yeast infection over a week ago from the use of an antibiotic. I originally had mild irritation and major yeast buildup and first treated it with Monistat. The yeast buildup and discharge went away temporarily and returned within a few days, so I called the gyn to get prescribed something more effective. Prior to using the medication, I actually noticed less discharge and less irritation, but decided I would still use as recommended to ensure the YI was gone. Worst decision, I used the cream before bed at 10 pm, had no side effects, went to sleep. Woke up at 2 am to use the bathroom, immediately after using the bathroom, I had severe burning and itching and could not fall back to sleep due to pain. Decided to look up reviews and side effects, and to my surprise, many women are suffering from this medication. I immediately sat on the toilet for 30 mins to allow the medication to leak out and took a shower. Feeling much better, and itching and burning are subsiding."

"So, I was having symptoms of BV, so I went to the doctor and found out it was a yeast infection. After using the cream for just 3 days (it was a 7-day dosage), I had a major reaction: bad vaginal pains, I could barely sleep. I went back to the doctor, who now says it was not a reaction but possibly herpes. I had no pain, no issues, or anything before this cream, now possibly herpes. I am waiting on my results and praying it was, in fact, a reaction to this horrible cream."

"Woke up the next morning from the first dose not feeling the greatest. Within a short period of time, I was vomiting, had the chills, and the worst aching all over that I have ever had. Lasted over 3 hours. Finally... slept most of it off after 6 or so hours of sleep. Woke dizzy and had a headache that lasted through the next day. Really thought I was dying, but too sick to move."

"I was prescribed this medication for a yeast infection. After one suppository, the burning was ridiculous. I went to get checked out by my doctor the next day, and she said I'd experienced what looked like a chemical burn. It basically looked like I'd been sandpapered from the inside out (felt like it too). After two weeks, I'm still healing and dealing with burning pain from a reaction to this medication. My tests are normal, so no infection, but now my doctor feels I need to try vaginal estrogen to counteract the dryness. This wasn't an issue before this happened. This medication needs to be taken off the market."

"I usually only get YI when I'm on antibiotics. Never fails. Well, one day I woke up and had a strange, odourless discharge, but it was in excessive amounts. Ignored it for about 2-3 days, and then the itching set in. And burning. Which I've never had accompanied by a YI. Went to the doctor. Prescribed fluconazole, 150 mg, and then a second dose in a week and this cream. Inserting wasn't as bad as I anticipated, actually, and I can't even use tampons. Instantly, the itching inside slowly subsided and was still itchy on the outside, but it's been 35 minutes on the dot, and now I feel totally relaxed with only an occasional twinge down there that is easily ignored. I'm excited to get some sleep and beyond happy to feel some relief."

"I’ve been dealing with a yeast infection since January (front and back). It’s now August. I’ve tried everything with really poor results. Monistat 1? Monistat 3? Monistat 7? Worked, but either had a reaction or it’d come right back. Couldn’t finish due to a reaction on my skin. After trying clotrimazole vaginal (which did nothing but make my parts very bad) and having a really bad reaction, and Diflucan weirdly making my lip blister, I had given up all hope. He said let’s try terconazole. I’m so glad I did. It’s so gentle on my skin. It’s clearing the yeast slowly. Slower than anything mentioned above - but - it’s actually working. I’m on night 7. My doctor wants me to do another 7. I believe it’s slower for me because the infection was just so bad and lengthy. Rating an 8 because it’s not all the way gone. Yet."

"I'm 8 months pregnant, and this was my first time using this. Yes, it treated my YI, but I think I had a horrible allergic reaction to it down there. I was taking terconazole and metronidazole at the same time. I've taken the metronidazole before and never had any type of irritation. It kind of made me freak out because of how bad the irritation was and that it caused my vagina to swell. I went back to see my OB, and he put it in my chart to not use anymore. I already have a sensitive vagina as it is, but this reaction to this medicine has ruined me."

"I’m currently 4 months pregnant. I used terconazole for the first time last night for a yeast infection. When I peed, I started having bad, sharp pains in my stomach. I didn’t even use it a second time because of the pain. I honestly wouldn’t even rate this a one, but I have no choice but to add a review. It causes terrible pain in my stomach to the point I was scared I thought I was having contractions. I will never use this ever again."

"I went to urgent care after having UTI symptoms for a week. After the doctor learned I had been on an antibiotic recently, he summed it up as a yeast infection (despite my urinalysis). I had already taken a Diflucan a week prior, but still had the smallest amount of yeast. My plan was to get the UTI treated and then worry about the remaining yeast infection. I took 1 dose of the 3-day cream treatment with no issues. I went to my PCP a few days later, and she wrote me an antibiotic for the UTI. With that underway, I finished out the cream. I used the second dose Wednesday night and the third dose Thursday night... woke up Friday in pain. As the weekend has progressed, my pain has gotten severe. I have a blister-like rash starting at my vagina and going on my bottom. I can barely sit down or wipe myself well due to the burning, cracked skin sensation. Using the restroom hurts so bad I get nauseated from the pain. I'm suffering needlessly because a doctor jumped to conclusions."

"I saw negative reviews and should have followed my gut. I was prescribed terconazole 3 ovules for what we thought was a yeast infection. Turns out it wasn't. Anyway, I used one ovule for one night and woke up with body aches and feeling like I had COVID. My head hurt, I was tired, and my bones hurt. I was so weak. I called my doctor and they switched me over to Monistat 7. My itching became worse and it's been a year later. I've been diagnosed with vulvodynia now. Guess what? There is no 'reason' that doctors give you for vulvodynia, but mine started right after taking this. I have burning, itching, and redness now all because I took this stupid medication. If you have a yeast infection, ask for an oral dose. I'm angry that people state yeast causes vulvodynia. No, it doesn't. Monistat and terconazole do!"

"Took this 3-day for small YI. 1st day was awful, slight itching and bad smell by end of day. I just thought it was terrible and from hot weather, but saw it was a side effect. 2nd day, no bad smell, but severe itching. Did not do 3rd day, but still itched terribly all day, like 'on fire' itchy. Could not pay me to go through this again, I've been completely distracted and short-tempered from pain. I'm in more pain now than before I took it."

"I have been on the 7-day for 6 days. There’s less itching, but a couple of nights I’d wake up with burning and discomfort. I had to put an ice pack on it to numb the pain. It was agonizing. I went to ask the doctor if it was still safe to use, and they said that it should stop by day 3 or 4. I’ve had bleeding that isn’t going away even though the doctor said it would by now. The swelling went down, but I feel like I’m on my period with all this bleeding (also I’m on birth control, so I know I’m not on my period yet). For my first yeast infection, this was a waste of money and time."

Terconazole topical "I have been getting recurrent YI for 4 years now. Usually, I can take a Diflucan and it's gone within days. Now I am currently 31 weeks pregnant with my second YI since I've been pregnant. The first time I had Monistat, and it burned so bad I washed it right out and let nature take its course. This time my doctor prescribed Terazol 7 cream, and it is the BEST. No burning, itching, or discomfort upon insertion!!!!"
