For Narcolepsy "I had spent months just eating enough to live. Going to the store was too much effort. Sleep, depression, not getting up or out, the world will forget you exist. My psych added Sunosi and a half dose of one of the drugs that had faded results years ago, 6 weeks ago. It was about 2 weeks before I was getting up and dressed most days. Then every day. (TBI survivor 2004) Fatigue, sleep, and on-task energy have been some of my longest battles after injury. Sunosi has helped lift me from a 6 or 8-month very deep slump. It has worked where other drugs did not. [Many of us react differently to each drug, this one works well for me.]"

For Narcolepsy "I want it to be affordable because people like me who have narcolepsy are physically struggling to go to work. How can 30 pills worth $700 work for a person like me? I can’t even work to stay awake. Change the price and you will get the supply and demand you want, considering that every insurance company looks at the dollar bills and not as human. Fix this now."

For Obstructive Sleep Apnea/Hypopnea Syndrome "I have OSA and use a CPAP. I also have severe RLS, which is treated with oxycodone. I am constantly tired. I heard about Sunosi and asked my doctor about prescribing it for me. She first wanted to try modafinil. This did absolutely nothing and actually made me feel worse from the side effects, which I found later that oxycodone and modafinil have “major” interactions. (Not sure how my doctor or the pharmacist dropped the ball on that one). So finally, my doctor agreed to try the Sunosi. Started at 75 mg, felt absolutely nothing good or bad. After several days, went up to 150 mg, still no improvement in my sleepiness after several weeks of trying. I’m now weaning off (as recommended by my doctor) since the medication did nothing for me, and I feel awful. I’ve been having panic attacks, and my heart rate has been elevated, and I also feel achy all over! Not sure if anyone else has had this experience trying to get off the medication, but I feel worse than ever!"

For Narcolepsy "I had to do a sleep study due to sleeping all day and not being able to wake up no matter how my kids tried to. I also have to deal with insomnia since I was a teen, and as an adult, it just got worse. The sleep study showed that I have narcolepsy symptoms during the day, which now I have to deal with too. So, when my doctor gave me samples of Sunosi for this sleeping disorder, it changed my life. My days before Sunosi were having episodes of falling asleep during the day without being able to wake up, and my kids tried to wake me, but I couldn't wake up. I have trouble falling and staying asleep at night. During the day, my episodes go like this: I get up in the morning and try to stay up, but a couple of hours later, I fall asleep and can't wake up until 4-5 hours later, and then an hour later, I fall back to sleep until the next day, and each day is different. But Sunosi changed that to having me awake all day without episodes and falling/staying asleep at night. Thank you, Sunosi."

For Obstructive Sleep Apnea/Hypopnea Syndrome "It works very well. I have noticed I sleep better and don't wake feeling like my mouth and tongue have been in the desert. My RX is for 150, but I often only take 75 mg. I also don't take it every night, usually only when I work. (Yeah, I'm one of those night shift people.) It also seems to help with shift worker problems. I haven't noticed any side effects. I have been using it for a couple of months."

For Narcolepsy "I have narcolepsy with cataplexy. I have been on Provigil and Ritalin for several years, always sleeping, however, I could function and be motivated. Started taking Provigil and Sunosi in November 2019. At first, I thought I had found the drug, after about three months, the drops came, no motivation. The best way to describe me is my eyes are open, the rest of me is asleep. No focus, all over the place."

For Obstructive Sleep Apnea/Hypopnea Syndrome "I’ve been on CPAP since about 2005. After years on this, I started having trouble staying awake. I would recognize the feeling before I would start getting drowsy. My job is my life, I drive a school bus. My doctor said we could try Sunosi, 75mg. He told me about the pros and cons, but it worked, and most days I only need half a pill. No side effects. I’ve used it for 3 years. Now I’ve got to start over because my insurance will not approve my prescription."

For Narcolepsy "I had tried Provigil and Nuvigil previously, neither of which helped at all with my daytime sleepiness and daily naps. When I first took 75 mg of SUNOSI, I was like a new person. I kept awake, motivated, busy, and focused all day. I still felt tired, but it didn’t keep me from doing what I needed to do, and my daily naps stopped completely! I had no negative side effects. For months, I got so much done every day, it was great! Then, after about 6 months, I started feeling sleepy all day with no energy or motivation at all again, so I started the 150, hoping it would perk me up again. So far, it’s been a week, and I’m still not feeling the benefits at all like I did when I first started. The effectiveness seems to have completely worn off."

For Obstructive Sleep Apnea/Hypopnea Syndrome "Been on Sunosi 150 mg daily for approx. a year and a half. Initially, seemed to work pretty well. No more daytime sleepiness and fatigue. As time has passed, the positive effects I used to experience have evaporated. I take a dose early in the morning, and I'm falling asleep by 10:00 a.m. I had the same results with a 200 mg daily dose of Modafinil, which I took before the Sunosi. Frustrating."

For Obstructive Sleep Apnea/Hypopnea Syndrome "I used to sleep 12-18 hrs per day yet was always exhausted/never refreshed. Using the 150 mg dose helps me sleep less and feel alert during the day. It does keep me awake many nights, I experience dry mouth and jaw clenching. It might contribute to my recurring dizziness."

For Narcolepsy "Personally, Sunosi has been life-changing for me. I was diagnosed with narcolepsy in college and tried a few other stimulants that only left me sick to my stomach, jittery, and constantly throwing up. My doctor gave me Sunosi about 4-5 years ago, and it makes a huge difference in my quality of life. No, it doesn't always last all day, but I am able to wake up (I take it around 7-8 am) normally, and it clears my brain fog. 75 mg didn't do anything for me, so I've been on 150 mg since I first started it. I do supplement with 5 mg Adderall when needed, such as in the winter and if I have to sit at my desk all day. I don't have any side effects either. I actually ran out today as I'm waiting for my new insurance to approve it, and I can tell a huge difference without it even though I have taken 15 mg Adderall. I have type 2 narcolepsy, so no cataplexy or random sleep spells, but my EDS (Excessive Daytime Sleepiness) is very bad. Hope this helps someone who is wanting to try it!"

For Obstructive Sleep Apnea/Hypopnea Syndrome "This medicine is changing my life for the better. I used to wake up in the morning, and within 30 minutes, I was back asleep. I couldn’t hold my eyes open and would sleep all day. Until I started taking this medicine, I’m like a new person. I am on 150 mg."

For Narcolepsy "After trying Nuvigil for a month with little effect, my doctor put me on Sunosi, starting with two weeks of samples. The second week was the 150 mg dosage, which really helped. I still felt more tired than I wanted and struggled with no motivation, but no “hallucinations” until about 5-6 pm. This was success for me. I did not like the profuse sweating, but I still felt the no hallucinations were worth it. Severe disappointment to find my copay-that's right, my copay was $760. I am beside myself. There is no way I can afford even a week's worth. No meds for over a week now, and I’m struggling with hallucinations by day and no sleep at night. Not a good recipe for a successful life. Why sooooo expensive? No self-pay person can afford this."

"Initially, it worked okay. The brain fog was gone, I had energy and was not tired all day. Now it is not consistent at all. Sometimes I take it, and it does nothing. One thing I have found is it affects my mood pretty badly. I will get really agitated and angry and then end up depressed. Don't think it's worth taking if it doesn't always work and affects my mood to this extent. Wonder if I'm the only one having depressive episodes with it."

For Obstructive Sleep Apnea/Hypopnea Syndrome "It might work for a couple of days, then the helpful effect of keeping me alert stops, and I have to stay off it for an interminable amount of time before it returns to being effective. But while the positive effects may wane, the negative effects of nausea, depression, and insomnia may linger for hours. Worse, I have to wait up to 2 hours to discover if Sunosi - 75mg - will work that day. Thankfully, I have a doctor who understands this and gave me a prescription for Adderall, which works unconditionally."

For Narcolepsy "I have struggled with sleeping for more than 20 years. I'm 55. I was diagnosed with sleep apnea about three years ago, but CPAP did nothing to make me feel better. After an additional sleep study, I was diagnosed with narcolepsy as well. Typically would fall asleep around 11 pm, wake up at 3:30 am or 4:00 am, would feel fine until around 10 am, then be exhausted all day until bed. Very difficult to focus and complete tasks. Started on Sunosi about 10 days ago and have noticed a huge difference. I feel much more alert, not in constant brain fog, much more focused, and motivated to complete tasks. I forgot to take it one day and definitely noticed the difference. So far (short period of time, but hopeful), it has been great for me. I feel it about 45 minutes after I take it, and it seems to last me all day. Luckily, I have not had any side effects so far."

"I started taking Sunosi after being on Focalin for years. I don't know what to expect, but I am not feeling awake or alert at all. Not sure if it needs to build up to reach effectiveness or if I should be feeling the effects by now (1 week). So far, no side effects, but still needing naps. Crashing after work big time."

For Obstructive Sleep Apnea/Hypopnea Syndrome "I have been on max dose for 2+ years. It has never provided me any benefit whatsoever. I have stayed on it because I am so desperately exhausted. I do have other health issues that cause severe exhaustion: hypotension, ME/CFS, fibromyalgia, primary Sjögren's syndrome, POTS, now early stage lupus, and absolutely no help or hope from any of my doctors. My rating is 1 out of 10."

For Narcolepsy "I suffer from narcolepsy. When I used Sunosi for the first time, I can say it was effective from the first hour! That was like magic! But when I had to wake up so early at 5 a.m., it wasn't enough for the rest of the day, I was getting very tired in the middle of the day. I contacted my doctor, and he told me to double the dose from 75 mg to 150 mg if it wasn't enough for the rest of the day. But on the contrary, it got worse, and after 2 weeks of 150 mg of Sunosi, I felt as if the effect had become reversed! So he told me to return to 75 mg. Now I feel like a normal person, there are some days when I wake up late, so I don't take Sunosi to avoid staying up at night, but at other times when I use it, I can do my daily activities normally without having to sleep all day. For me, I didn't see any noticeable side effects from it, such as high blood pressure, that I monitored before and after using the drug for 10 days, and nothing happened so far. I have been using it for about 6 months."

For Obstructive Sleep Apnea/Hypopnea Syndrome "Have obstructive and central apnea and have been diagnosed with hypersomnia. Have taken Adderall for close to 30 years, currently 60 mg but as high as 90 mg. Even with a CPAP, tired all day. Last 8 years really needed to start taking naps mid-day. Has Provigil added, and at first, it helped. Dropped the Provigil and prescribed Sunosi. I have to say that at 75 mg, this has been effective and keeps me up throughout most days without a nap."

"So, about 3 weeks ago, my neurologist gave me a trial for Sunosi since Ritalin wasn't doing anything to improve my EDS. I have idiopathic hypersomnia, and it is honestly a struggle even with the medication I currently have, modafinil. I've been on modafinil for about 2 years now, 200 mg twice daily. It helps, but it doesn't do enough. When the doctor gave me Sunosi, I thought maybe this one would be the one that helps. I was wrong. I barely notice a difference in my wakefulness, and on top of that, the side effects are awful. I feel like I can't catch a full breath, I'm getting dizzy all the time, my eyes feel like they can't focus properly, and the tremors are fairly severe. I can't hold anything steady, and my legs are extremely shaky as if I've just done a marathon. The headache is awful, and it makes me feel like I'm slightly detached from my own body. My chest feels tight, and I'm always nauseous. I have felt off for about a week now, with the symptoms worsening. Not the drug for me."

For Obstructive Sleep Apnea/Hypopnea Syndrome "I’ve been taking Sunosi for a month. I started at 37.5 mg and worked up to 150 mg. Sunosi has been keeping me awake during the day, but both my heart rate and BP are elevated. Insomnia is also becoming a problem. My doc lowered my dose to 75 mg, but I still have elevated heart rate and BP. I’ll probably have to stop the medication. Disappointing! I had the same problem with Nuvigil and Provigil."

For Narcolepsy "I have narcolepsy and was on armodafinil for 3 months, and it worked great at first, but then all of a sudden it stopped working. My doctor gave me samples of Sunosi to try, and I didn’t think it was working well at first…but then I went back to the armodafinil, and it was like a 180 negative change. I had forgotten how bad it was without (working) medication! So I tried Sunosi at 150 mg for 2 weeks, and everything was better. No side effects. Some of the reviews here worried me, but I haven’t experienced anything negative yet. I am praying this continues to work because I am absolutely miserable without medication."

For Narcolepsy "If insurance pays for this medication, give it a try. If not, don’t waste your money. I've been on every stimulant there is. I was excited about this, unfortunately, it's done little to nothing. There is no way this can be abused. It is only controlled because it supposedly treats narcolepsy. The only effective meds for narcolepsy are stimulants, so they put this in the same category."

For Obstructive Sleep Apnea/Hypopnea Syndrome "Excessive daytime fatigue. I tried armodafinil 150 mg first, and it worked well by the second week, then energy uptake stopped, and I suffered through pounding heart, restlessness, anxiety, and nausea. Next was Sunosi 75 mg. It skipped the ‘energy’ part and went straight to all the awful side effects. I held on to it for about 10 days before it was intolerable. Now taking Adderall, 10-15 mg, once a day. I experience a window of energy for about 2 hours (nothing excessive, just alert like after a good night's sleep, which I haven’t had for 2 years). Sometimes with the med, I experience a ‘crash’ of agitation and exasperated cervical dystonia, but that was pre-existing and is usually non-existent because of treatment therapy. The side effects of the non-amphetamine drugs were too much to tolerate, with little relief. I will stick to the occasional Adderall, which I take every 2-3 days, when my responsibilities become backlogged due to my inertia."
