For Osteoarthritis "I have bone-on-bone osteoarthritis in my left knee. I have, over the past five or so years, had five or six Synvisc injections. They have worked well for me, lasting for six or eight months. The injections are fairly painless, with only the sensation of fullness in my knee for a day or so, no pain. I was given my first Durolane injection three days ago. It is the most painful injection I have ever had. It hurt like anything. I am three days out and still cannot bend my knee fully. The swelling and the redness have improved, but I still have a moderate amount of discomfort. I will NEVER put myself through this again. I will stick with Synvisc, even if it means a decreased injection interval."

For Osteoarthritis "My Durolane injection was now 3 weeks ago. I had it in my right knee for osteoarthritis. I would take the pain before having the injection and discomfort any day over this. Pain is still terrible. Days one and two were off-the-charts painful. Now about a 5-6. Still limited mobility. No way you could work after this injection. I did get back in to see my orthopedic, and he said I would just have to “ride it out.” I asked, what’s an estimate? He didn’t have an answer. This is such a bad drug - do not do it. Never going back to this doctor - he really didn’t seem to care. Just shocking to go through this much pain and barely able to get around my house. I haven’t been able to even walk to the mailbox or get groceries. This has been a never-ending nightmare. I feel for others who have had the same reaction. Once the pain is gone, I will update. I see another doctor next week to try and get some kind of relief."

For Osteoarthritis "Just received the shot in my right knee on 11/7/22. When the initial shot was given, there was no pain or discomfort, but I did notice, while driving home, a little bit of tightness in the joint. No major issues for the rest of the day. Overnight, had some discomfort, and once up and moving, very sore and hard to stand on it, but sitting is no issue. Was told to take it easy for 2 days to let it sit in, and will follow up on this review in a few days."

For Osteoarthritis "I was diagnosed with bone-on-bone osteoarthritis in my left knee, this was in May 2021. I was given a cortisone injection and a prescription for pain. I had to quit PT because the pain was getting worse. My doctor gave me an option for the gel injection but said it doesn’t always give people relief. I was willing to try it to put off knee replacement. I was given a Durolane injection in July and had immediate relief! It is now January 2022 and I just started getting discomfort at night. My doctor's office called yesterday to set up an appointment for the second injection. I told them I would like to hold off until I felt I really needed it, which will probably be by the end of the month if it gets worse at night. I would highly recommend this drug to anyone that was in pain and wanted to hold off on surgery."

For Osteoarthritis "I got my Durolane shot on 8-31-21. I had Monovisc and Gel-One shots in the past, but insurance switched me. My doctor took x-rays and showed me the scans compared to a normal knee. The space (representing my cartilage) was about 1/2 of the normal, not bone on bone. The knee being injected had open surgery for MCL/meniscus repair in 1982 and arthroscopic cleanup in 2010. Before the injection, my doctor first used a handheld ultrasound to check for fluid buildup, which he would remove, but didn't need to. Then he gave me a cortisone injection, followed by the gel injection. He used the ultrasound during both injections to assure the medication was getting to the right places. After a week, I have had no significant pain and just a little discomfort and feeling of pressure, which icing relieves. No gel injection will fix a bone-on-bone knee that needs replacement."
