For Type 2 Diabetes "I was offered this by the pharmacist at my local GP practice. I'm borderline diabetic and have been taking Metformin for about 5 months now. I've been overweight for over 30 years, and only calorie-restrictive diets have worked - generally 600 to 800 calories a day. This hasn't been a problem for me as I have a very low appetite naturally and have always struggled to finish a single course. I was told Rybelsus would help both the diabetes and have a positive effect on weight loss. Every morning, I have religiously taken it as prescribed for 3 months. I'm now on the max 14 mg dose and struggling with extreme nausea for about an hour after taking it. I also have burning indigestion for 30 mins, which is hard to cope with given you can't guzzle water to try and settle it. I have lost 2 lbs in 3 months. My appetite is so absent I've been advised to take vitamin supplements. Considering giving up and going on a 'real' diet with the side effect that it'll address my mild diabetes."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Already 3 weeks Rybelsus 3 mg, the nausea is sometimes still present, more appetite especially in the morning, while eating a little less appetite, weight goes up instead of down. I have already gained 4.5 kg, are there still people with this problem? I am in despair."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I've been on this now for nearly 2 weeks. To help reduce blood glucose levels and boost my weight loss. I've lost 1 lb and have a loss of appetite, also nauseous most mornings if I don't eat after 30 mins of taking meds. Today I ate 2 biscuits with a cup of tea and vomited really bad, which I'm sure is related to this medication. As I feel absolutely fine now. Seems the side effects are the same as the majority here. I'll stick it out and increase the dose in 2 weeks."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I was prescribed Rybelsus for weight loss. Started with a month at 3 mg and have been up at 7 mg a little over a month now. It totally suppresses my appetite, and I have already lost weight without counting calories or 'dieting' in any way. I have had a lot of nausea, and it isn't gone yet. But it isn't terrible, just a nuisance."

For Type 2 Diabetes "The benefits were great: low sugars and low appetite. Lost 10 in 3 months. However, I had side effects that did not go away: nausea, diarrhea, abdominal pain with gas. It became too much, and I stopped taking Rybelsus."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I’m worried because with Rybelsus 3 mg for a month, didn’t lose any weight, but nausea and barely eating. Now at 6 mg because I’m doubling almost a month with, now, lost only 1 pound. My worry is that I’ve been having sudden kicks in my legs, tingling, like neuropathy, still nauseated, constipated, and my stomach most of the time with heartburn and acid reflux. Should I stop? I don’t even have diabetes, just pre-diabetic."

For Type 2 Diabetes "A1c crept up to 6.9. Started Rybelsus for a 30-day intro with fairly vague side effects of light nausea, constipation, and reduced appetite. Increased to regular 7 dosage and immediately side effects were extreme and awful. Constant significant nausea, abdominal discomfort, significant constipation, low energy. Almost no desire to eat, and if I did eat, even very little food caused even more discomfort that escalated. Food just sat in my stomach feeling heavy and sour. Heartburn and gas were constant. After just 5 days of a larger dose, I stopped the medication but with lingering side effects. After being off the drug for two days, I sustained immense abdominal pain like I have NEVER experienced that finally culminated in strange diarrhea. Too many intense and questionable side effects for me. Weight loss - by not being able to eat - not worth the escalating horrible side effects for me. I'll never take this drug again."

"In 6 months of use, I've lost 17 lbs, and I feel better than I have in many years. It causes a small amount of nausea at the beginning, but it was tolerable. The main effect has been a reduction in appetite, which in turn has made me make better food choices."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Positive results: it did help lower my sugar. It shut the 'food-obsessed voice' off in my head, and I had a reduced appetite. Lost weight. BUT...as the week progressed, I was nauseous and vomited frequently. Just miserable."

For Type 2 Diabetes "The worst experience ever on a medication. Nausea, bad heartburn, weak. Most likely dehydrated, I could not eat or drink anything. Food was my worst enemy on this medication. I would have ended up anorexic. Sugars went down, but that's because you can't eat, and then I had many low sugar readings. I went off it."

For Type 2 Diabetes "My doctor advised me to start with 3 mg for two to four weeks. She suggested if I was good at two weeks to up to 7 mg dose. I have been on 7 mg for 3.5 weeks and feel nauseated more often than not. I also bounce between diarrhea and constipation. Not sure how much longer I can do this. How long before these side effects lessen?"
