For Type 2 Diabetes "It was a disaster for me. My A1C used to stay between 7.5 and 8.5, and morning fasting readings were high, like 130 to 160. Increasing Glimepiride from 4 mg up to 8 mg didn't work. My doctor started me on 3 mg/day of Rybelsus. It caused constipation, upset stomach, and a lot of burping. But morning fasting readings came down to around 100, so I was tempted to try it out. After finishing the 3 mg dose for 30 days, I started taking 7 mg/day. My symptoms worsened: constipation, loss of appetite, noisy stomach, lots of burping, GERD, and weight loss from 152 lbs to 139 lbs in just about a couple of months. I could not afford to lose any more weight. I also saw some foamy urine indicating it was affecting my kidney function too. I stopped taking Rybelsus under my doctor's advice, and since then, the constipation is gone, the burping is gone, the appetite is good, and life seems back to normal. I still need to check on my kidneys for any issues since foamy urine is still there. The last A1C was 7.9."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I have been on Rybelsus for 1.5 months. Can’t eat, and what I do eat makes me so nauseous that it all comes back up. I have lost 10 lbs, which is great, but if this upset stomach and throwing up do not go away, then it is not worth it. I’ll give it another week, but I think I will tell the doctor I am done. My sugar levels were high, and that is why he prescribed it to take along with Synjardy. Feeling sick all the time is not worth it."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Short story is this drug worked for me! 242 lbs Started 7.4 A1C. 3mg Rybelsus. I was really trying hard. Fast food I cut and was exercising 3 days a week. I have a sweet tooth and my wife is a great baker. She had something ready for me all the time. Sunday doughnut trips. Dairy Queen etc. Cut but not cut all out. 30 days later I did lose some weight. A1C 7.0. The Doc told me the prescribing was 3mg for 30 days then 7mg. I did exercise 4 days a week and cut the sweets some more (that was hard lol). Then the magic happened. In 150 days from start 3mg to 7mg, my A1C 5.1, 195 pounds. 5 more to go. I'm 6 ft tall. I was a fat boy at 242. Now all my old clothes fit with a belt. I know this drug won't work for everyone. However, it worked for me. It will work for you if you try hard. Don't just take the drug. I do get an upset stomach from time to time but worth it!"

For Type 2 Diabetes "Been on Rybelsus for 3 months, along with Metformin and Glyburide. Overall, it has been great, with morning sugar in the 130 range from the 180s before. Haven’t done A1C, but I’m hopeful. Some stomach issues - feel bloated a lot, and one time had dry heaves. But I’ve adapted and found just eating less avoids the issues. A side benefit is lost about ten pounds without any effort, really. Only real issue is cost, Medicare coverage sucks on this drug."

For Type 2 Diabetes "28 days in! Started on 7 mg and will continue with 7 mg. I am also on Metformin 500 mg daily and have been for years. To be fair, my A1c was never above 6.3, and my weight was 179 lbs and height is 5-6. I have a strong family history of insulin-dependent diabetics, and I don’t want to go there! I’ve been losing weight like crazy with no exercise, which is why I came to read some of these reviews to see if this is common. Current weight is 164. Lost 15 lbs in 28 days! Mild nausea and dry mouth after taking the med in the morning. Pill is also bitter and not overly large, but a little hard to swallow. Nausea disappears with ginger ale or fruit. Appetite is gone! I have to force myself to eat at times. I suggest a vitamin supplement. Mild stomach ache and loose stool later in the day, but have solid soft stool in the morning. Want to continue to reach the weight goal of 155 lbs and A1c below 5.8. Then maybe go to a reduced dose if necessary. I definitely recommend this drug."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Insurance is Medicare Advantage AARP United Health. The 1st 3-month supply was $130. The 2nd 3-month supply was $450. I expect the medication will not be affordable for the future. There was no advantage in the first 3 months taking the 3 mg dosage. A1C is 7.4% from 7.6%. Now taking the 7 mg dosage; waiting for my next doctor evaluation on Feb. 26, 2025. I get frequent headaches, dizziness, upset stomach, bloated feeling, and sleepy/low energy levels. No weight loss."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I have been on the 3 mg dose and felt a bit nauseous and had a sore stomach, but it was manageable. Now going on to the 7 mg, but I am on a low GI diet as well, and this combination has helped bring my blood sugar levels down. I have problems with food addiction, and the drug helps curb the cravings by lowering my appetite. So far, I only have positive feedback about Rybelsus."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I started Rybelsus with the 3 mg that the doctor gave me. Nausea started right away, but I could deal with it for the most part. When it was time to go to the 7 mg, I got scared of the thyroid cancer warnings and didn't continue with the drug. But my numbers started climbing after that again. So, a couple of months later, I started with the 7 mg that I had. I used it for a month, and the diarrhea, gas, and gurgling stomach increased each day. The diarrhea would wake me up in the middle of the night! I was having 5 to 6 bowel movements a day, I was afraid to leave the house. So, I saw the doctor and am going back to Trulicity, which I had fewer side effects with. I really wanted this medication to work for me as I need to lose a lot of weight. But the side effects are not worth it for me."

For Type 2 Diabetes "A little inconvenient due to the 30 min restriction, etc. Sugars down by 1.5, weight has not changed. Stomach is bloated and uncomfortable. Using 7 mg was hoping for better results and no stomach issues, which resulted in a wardrobe change. Regarding recommendation, I would say that I'm relatively happy with the glucose readings, but it's a big sacrifice regarding the stomach issues."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Had problems with stomach issues when I first started it. Dropped the 7 mg dose down to 3 mg for 3 months. Then went back to the 7 mg. Now I’m on 14 mg with not as many GI problems, except I still had problems with bad constipation, so I add fiber supplements and more fruit and fluids. Doing okay so far. A1c better, weight down a few pounds, lab numbers are better. Thank you."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I have started Rybelsus 3 mg for 20 days and now on 7 mg since the last 22 days. Feeling much lighter, but stomach is upset and severe acidity issue. Have lost 4 kg in the last 40 days, but most loss is waterless. So wanted to know if others have fat loss or waterless. But very happy to take this medicine. And planning to continue."

For Type 2 Diabetes "This is my second go-round using this medication. It is the best that I've tried, and this time, I will stick with it. My side effects have been mild diarrhea and stomach aches. I did use a little weight, but I don't need to lose weight. I am an avid gym attendee and my diet is vegetarian, so Rybelsus will only be used for Type 2 diabetes."

For Type 2 Diabetes "It has worked for helping with my sugar. But all the restrictions for taking it are not easy to do. No food or drink for a half hour and only 4 ounces of water to take it make me not want to take it. And it is becoming less effective the longer I take it. Also, I have some common side effects. Have not lost any weight but have bloating and stomach distress, which I am prone to."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I started on Rybelsus and only took 4 doses. I didn’t get terrible stomach upset, but my abdomen went completely numb. I’ve been off the medication for 4 days and am still completely numb. I went to the ER, and they ran blood work and a CAT scan, all was normal. I went to a chiropractor, and again, all was normal. Numbness is listed as a rare side effect on drugs.com website, which my chiropractor looked up. My endocrinologist isn’t helpful, and I called Rybelsus, and they were less than helpful. I’ve now spent hundreds of dollars. I’m very concerned and praying this goes away. I am so numb it hurts to touch my skin. Beware of this medication!"
