"Three months into my use of Ozempic. This is the first week on the full dose. I have lost 22 lbs, which is 10% of my body weight. I need to lose 55 to be at a 25 BMI. At the beginning, I vomited with the first increase in dosage. I feel nauseous at least 2 days after the injection and often have to sleep sitting up due to acid reflux for at least 4 days. Constipation is a problem in the first few days if I am not diligent about drinking lots of water. Water exacerbates the nausea and reflux. The medication changes your eating pattern due to the side effects. I have not had to force myself to diet in any way - the side effects do control your desire to eat. Gas in the stomach causes bloating, and passing gas is definitely an issue, as well as belching, which relieves pressure and is very necessary for comfort. I use Zofran on the first day and often take Tums throughout the week. During the first day or two, I might have to only eat saltines for stomach comfort."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Reduced blood sugar from 10 to 7.1. Killed my hunger completely, no more food cravings. Side effects became disabling, had to discontinue using. Became bloated, nausea was bad, 1st time I have vomited in 50 years, fatigue, constipation, going to the emergency room as no doctors available to help."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Ozempic helped me by lowering my A1C and curbing my appetite. I have only taken it for over a month and lost 10 pounds. I like the gradual loss of weight. The side effects for me are indigestion and bloating. I take 1 mg a week."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Lower doses caused constipation, at the highest dose of 2, I experienced a full day of being sick to my stomach after injection. On these days, I ate saltine crackers and drank Coke Zero. The following days, I felt bloated and experienced burping and gas. However, I continued to lose weight, and my A1c was down to 7.6."

"I'm on week 5 in a few days. Started at 0.25 cc inj. Mild nausea and headaches. 5' 10'', 186 initial weight. I'm 40 lbs overweight. I tried to eat right and exercise, but the weight was not budging. Just going up, and I'm very active outside. Today I'm down 10 pounds, it's a slow process for me, it seems. Very little appetite, and you can't eat much at one time or you feel terrible, bloated, nauseated, headaches... but I'm determined to drop another 30 lbs. I'm just surprised at how little I eat for a portion and am completely full... and still the weight clings on. I could not do it without this drug."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I have only been on Ozempic for 1 week, but so far it's been good. I do not seem to get as hungry, and after eating, I have a little discomfort in my stomach for 15 to 30 minutes, but then it goes away. I have lost 2 pounds, my sugar seems to be responding better and coming down when I check it, and I do not have that bloated feeling like I normally do. Fingers crossed!"

For Type 2 Diabetes "After taking this, I was very, very unwell, ended up in ICU-fighting to stay alive. I was unable to eat for 2 weeks, unable to hold fluids down, eggy burps all the time, pure acidic stomach pains! And bloating, this time I have been put on a smaller dosage as a trial and still have egg burps, acidic stomach, and bloating with pains! Feeling sick, hopefully gets better, otherwise, I will not take it ever again! Gave me bad diarrhea this time round, unlike last time, it was all vomiting & very weak."

For Type 2 Diabetes "First injection, I didn’t feel bloated, it was awful. Next morning, I vomited like the Exorcist: yellow, not a little, a lot. Felt so bad! Kept telling myself to hang in there. I was close to ER! Took me a few days, and I threw it in the garbage!!! Never again."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I have been using Ozembic for about a year and have just started having some GI side effects: bloating, gas, poor or no appetite, and belching. I am hoping these will subside as it has been effective in keeping my A1C down."
