For Type 2 Diabetes "I have a worst case scenario. Side effects include painful abdomen, bloating, extreme gas both in upper digestive processing (gas - burping) and lower intestinal (flatulence). It is extreme and not socially acceptable. I had gastroparesis prior to taking Ozempic. I have severe constipation as an effect as well."

For Type 2 Diabetes "My very first injection has made me deathly ill. The nausea, vomiting, bloating, gas, most intense hunger pains, cramping, sulfur burps that make you want to throw up, and just generally feeling miserable. The thought of food most of the time has made me want to throw up. I can't take my other meds most of the time because I end up vomiting. All this while trying to work full time. I have tried Trulicity, which made me very sick, Victoza put me in the emergency room. Ozempic has me close to the emergency room if I end up dehydrated. This is how I imagine being poisoned would feel like. Medicine should not make you feel this bad. No illness that I have had has made me feel this horrible. If you have any kind of stomach issues, really, I have GERD, think twice before injecting this nasty 'medication.'"

For Type 2 Diabetes "I started taking Ozempic (semaglutide) five weeks ago to control my A1C, blood sugar, and weight loss, but I don't see any change. I got gas, bloated, stomach upset, and constipated. Out of the five weeks, three of them I got a UTI, and I am miserable. Going to see my regular doctor today because my endocrinologist who prescribed this medication is off during the weekend."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Easy to use right from the beginning. I'm a type 2 diabetic and it has helped to stabilize my blood sugars. I did the 0.25 --> 0.50 regimen and it was easy to follow. I have had zero side effects ever taking the drug and it has reduced my cravings by a lot. I was surprised after about 4 weeks in that I just didn't want to eat as much as I had in the past. It was a strange feeling that at a meal I just didn't 'want' any more without feeling bloated. Portion sizes that I used to eat easily just were too much to eat."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Only problem I had with Ozempic was when I ate late. (Lesson learned.) All the issues were present: nauseous, bloated, burps. Appetite has decreased along with my blood sugar levels. After 23 years of management of a chronic condition, diabetes. This medication, along with Lantus and Novolog, sliding scale, has helped tremendously. Put myself on insulin 15 years ago, the cleanest form of control. But have tried additional oral meds with side effects. Lizard spit (Byetta). Management requires trying new medication."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Miracle drug for me.... Blood sugar was up past 300, and now it averages 121 (I have the Freestyle Libre 2). Sometimes my blood sugar drops, and I get to 'reward' myself with a Chocolate Chip Cookie, but that's only once per month. Gas and bloating, sure I get that issue, but remember, your stomach isn't cramming food down your intestines like it used to. That food is sitting there for a long period of time. Omeprazole is all you need to calm that down, take once per day. Today, I hit 193.2 lbs, down from 240 lbs back in November (2.5 months now). I had a 40' waist back then, I'm fitting in 34' waist now. According to CDC guidelines, I should be 178 lbs at 6 foot..... I haven't seen sub-200 lbs since the 90s. I only inject the .25, I don't have a need to go any higher.... everything is great..... weight loss is a bonus. I feel great, my knee doesn't hurt anymore. My feet don't have peripheral neuropathy (damage to nerves in the feet) from diabetes. UNDERSTAND, I cut out all sugars and starches."

For Type 2 Diabetes "After reading the reviews, a lot of my problems using Ozempic have been answered. I was wondering why I had the side effects that I did, such as vomiting, diarrhea, bloating, stomach gurgling, and belching or egg taste, etc., but a lot has been answered here. My only comment about this is that I am to use .50 every week, and my pen only holds 3 weeks' worth. I have called 2X after I mentioned it to my nurse practitioner, and the only thing I get is offered a voucher for a free pen. My question is, am I the only one that doesn't get the full 4 weeks' worth of the pen if using .50? I tried to ask that to customer service this morning, and she could not answer my question but only offer yet another voucher. Please tell me if I am the only one that this happens to or not. Overall, I am extremely happy with the product."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I started on Ozempic in January 2021. I started on 0.25 mg and then in February went up to 0.50 mg. My A1C has come down from 8.5 to 6.9, which is brilliant. My fasting sugar levels are below 7 in the morning compared to 8-10, and I find it’s below 7 during the day. Bloating is awful and constant, my stomach is blown up like I’m 6 months pregnant. I haven’t lost any weight. My digestive system feels off. Although my appetite is surprising, I wonder how good this is if you're not eating and getting all the nutrients your body needs. Constipation and diarrhea are extreme. I’m always really thirsty, and normally if I drink water..."

"Currently on 1 mg per week (week 3). Mid-evening: feel bloated and nausea, followed by frequent watery loose stool throughout the night (ranging from 5 minutes to 30 minutes between movements). By midnight, nausea escalated to vomiting with continued watery loose stool. Early morning, body stabilizes with infrequent watery stool. Such events reoccur 2 to 3 days apart. Weight loss is ongoing."

For Type 2 Diabetes "This medication started off okay for the first week, then all hell broke loose. Stomach pains, stomach bloating, a feeling of nausea but cannot bring up, dizziness, and a feeling of severe unwellness. Finally admitted to the hospital where a blood sugar doctor stopped the use immediately and put me on to tablets."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I have type 2 diabetes and am overweight. Although I try to eat healthy and walk, I am always tired and couldn’t lose weight. I started Ozempic about 6 months ago. At 0.25 mg, I experienced nausea, bloating, and diarrhea after I ate anything. I didn’t want to increase my dose after 4 weeks due to the side effects. The symptoms lessened but didn’t go away. I increased my dose 3 months ago to 0.50 mg. I have lost about 18 pounds, but the side effects make me feel terrible. I experience sharp stomachache pains, nausea, and overall not feeling well, and the worst symptom is terrible leg pain. Both legs hurt constantly from my knees down. Some nights I cannot sleep. I have been told it’s not a reported side effect, but it started right after I increased my dose. My A1C is down from 12 to 7.5, so I want to continue but am not sure if I can tolerate this discomfort. Has anyone else experienced leg/foot pain? My doctor says it’s from diabetes, but my numbers are down, and I never had this pain before."

For Type 2 Diabetes "First started Ozempic 3 years ago and within two months became seriously ill with gastrointestinal problems. Sickness, bloating, and stomach pain. My doctor said it wasn't the injection even though I had a scan and my pancreas was enlarged. I stopped the injection and restarted it two months ago and yes, within 30 days, I was gravely ill again. Terrible sickness and pain around my back indicating pancreas pain. I even turned yellow. Stopped again. Yes, it made me lose weight but through being so ill with sickness. In my opinion, I've never felt so ill and it certainly hasn't been worth the pain."

For Type 2 Diabetes "After reading the reviews on this website, I wanted to try Ozempic, and I did. Started on the drug-this will be the sixth dose (and week)-and I must say this drug works! I have my second prescription of 0.50 for the next 4 weeks. I continue to take the 500 metformin with the Ozempic. Had blood work done for 'allergy testing,' but everything else was checked, and I'm happy to say I got a phone call this morning to say my A1C is now 7, from 10.2! From 12/7/23 to today, I would say that is remarkable. I lost about 12 pounds and plan to keep going. Side effects were mild. I had some body aches, but I'm sure that was from working out. I sleep better, have much more energy, and feel so encouraged! From the very first shot, I felt some pains in the stomach and a decrease in appetite. I can fast for 14-16 hours before eating. I just want to quit the metformin because it keeps me in the bathroom and still bloats my stomach. But, this medicine is a game changer, my glucose readings are 117, 112, down from 219."

"I am a 47-year-old woman taking Ozempic for 4 weeks now. .25 doses. I started at 300 lbs at 5.7'. Week 1 and 2, I had no side effects, week 3, I was a bit bloated and constipated. But I increased my water intake and walked for 40 mins 3 times a week, and it was gone within a few days. I lost 5 lbs in week 1 and 2, nothing week 3 (I assume due to the bloating and constipation), and another 5 lbs in week 4 for a total of 15 lbs in 4 weeks! I am very excited and motivated. I have always struggled with my weight, I was never a huge overeater, just very bad choices due to a lack of willpower! But since taking Ozempic, although I still get very small cravings, I find it so much easier to control. I can have a bag of chips in the house and just have a cup for an after-dinner snack and not go back for seconds! It is amazing! I can promise I have tried this before... many times... and it never worked! I would go back for seconds and thirds until the bag was gone! Lol. So far, worth the cost (no coverage)."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Serious stomach issues, cramping, bloating, severe constipation, nausea, no appetite, rashes, pain in the upper and lower bowel, gas. Loss of too much weight, no taste for food. Have had previous trouble with colitis and diverticulitis but still prescribed this medication. Only have 1 kidney and now afraid it may be damaged. I have been on this drug for approximately 7-9 months. Now worried, but the doctor is not concerned enough to take me off this medication."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Started taking 0.25mg three weeks ago. Experiencing low blood sugar in the morning (3.4 - 2.7). Blood pressure has also dropped, this morning it was 112/56. No other side effects: no nausea, no diarrhea or constipation, no gas or bloating. I've noticed reduced appetite, but so far no weight loss."

For Type 2 Diabetes "The Ozempic did bring down my A1C, however, it has been an extremely difficult drug to get used to. I have been on it for 5 months and still have unacceptable side effects, such as bloating, gas, diarrhea, and nausea that can last for several days."

"I've been taking .25 for 5 weeks. The first few doses I experienced diarrhea and vomited twice. I started my 6th dose and noticed the side effects are gone. I haven't lost weight yet, but feel less bloated and feel a few inches slimmer. I was told I may not notice weight loss until I increase the dose."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I took Ozempic for 6 months and had to stop because I couldn't handle the side effects: nausea, bloating, loss of appetite, heartburn, etc. Since I started on Ozempic, I have felt a lot better, and the only side effect I have experienced is feeling a little tired the day after taking the shot, but manageable, nothing compared to the oral pill. Very convenient and easy to use, and very happy with the results at the 3-month follow-up."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I started taking Ozempic at 0.025 mg for two months, primarily relying on meal replacements for diabetes twice a day along with a small amount of cereal (Grape Nuts). During those two months, I lost 30 pounds. However, I experienced dizzy spells because I was also taking high blood pressure medication. Once I stopped the blood pressure medication, the dizziness went away. I then increased my Ozempic dosage to 0.050 mg, and that's when things took a turn for the worse. I started having sulfur burps (long and frequent belching), excessive gas, diarrhea, and if I overate cereal, I would vomit. Even if I didn't eat anything, I would still experience vomiting. I lowered the insulin dosage, and it improved. After a month, I was able to handle the 0.050 mg dosage. Later, I increased it to 1 mg. At this point, I wasn't losing weight anymore, but I experienced hunger pains and started eating other things. On and off, I would have episodes of diarrhea, belching, and gas. Additionally, I started experiencing pain under both sides of my ribs, bloating, belching, diarrhea, and gas. I had blood work done, which revealed that my thyroid levels were significantly off. I am scheduled for an ultrasound to examine my thyroid, pancreas, liver, gallbladder, and GI tract, among others."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Been on Ozempic 3 months. I hate this mess. I’m constantly throwing up (not good, just bile). I’ve never been so weak in my life. Since taking the drug, I constantly pass out even though I’ve had to decrease my long-term insulin. I’ve consulted with my doctors, and they keep saying let my body become accustomed to the med. The erratic bowel issues are insane. One day I’m so bloated from constipation, 2 days later I have diarrhea. Not much I can eat without throwing up. I honestly don’t know how much longer I can do this."
