For GERD "It's 2:05 a.m. I'm tired, but I do not want to go to sleep. I fell asleep, and 30 minutes later, getting up to go to the bathroom, I realized my body was pulsing a lot more. I have started having panic attacks, but it's been 2 months. And I have taken Zantac before, so the fact that as soon as they prescribed me Zantac again, I start having panic attacks out of my sleep, I wonder if when I was taking it before, if that was the reason I was having them a lot more often, because tonight was so uncomfortable. I fell asleep fine, but woke up dizzy, nauseous, shaky, heart racing, mouth, tongue, and throat feeling swollen. Everybody's body reacts differently, I see. But some have the same symptoms as me."

Ranitidine for GERD "I don't even know where to start. I have never felt more miserable on a drug in my life. Before taking it, I had suddenly been losing a ton of weight and having issues sleeping at night due to waking up cold, shaky, and ill-feeling. An urgent care doctor mentioned that I probably have gastritis, and this was given to me. I am currently about three days in, and I can't do it anymore. This morning, after taking my morning dose, I found myself almost immediately hit with incredible weakness, nausea, headache, and what must be a panic attack. It's horrible. This drug makes me feel like I'm going to fall asleep, but the second I close my eyes, it feels like I'm on a roller coaster and I start having unpleasant sounds and visions go through my head. I have actually found myself practically unable to eat most of the time while taking this, even less than I was previously able to without it."

Ranitidine for Gastric Ulcer Maintenance Treatment "After horrible pain on a number of separate occasions that would go on for hours, leaving me exhausted and ill, vomiting, and feeling nauseous and debilitated. Just one of these tablets stopped the pain completely within 20 minutes, unbelievable!"

Ranitidine for GERD "I’ve been dealing with chronic nausea and vomiting for almost 20 years. It took 2 years to be diagnosed with GERD because it started out sporadic and kept getting diagnosed as gastritis. Finally started a PPI, and life returned to normal. But after a few years, the Rx itself stopped working. So I’d switch to a different brand. Now, as a SAHM (stay-at-home mother) with 2 small children, my current relapse left me useless and depressed since it’s my youngest son’s birthday. Antiemetics weren’t even helping anymore. But the on-call Dr recommended Zantac, and I almost instantly felt better! It hasn’t been a full 24 hours yet, so only time will tell if it keeps on working. But right now, I’m so happy and grateful to be feeling myself again and able to enjoy my boy’s birthday!"

Ranitidine for Erosive Esophagitis "When I tell you that this little pill or Zantac liquid works WONDERS!!!! I've had the worst nauseous feeling, bad diarrhea for the last five days. As soon as I took this pill, it just sat there, burning the food, holding it down. Ahh man, I'm so happy now, relief of pain, but also with a better diet, it's way better."

For Hiatal Hernia "This medicine was given to me after being diagnosed with hiatal hernia and gastritis. After two tablets of ranitidine, I started to get stomach pain, reflux, gas, dizziness, a headache, and slight nausea. I have persevered for three days, but not sure I can go on like this. The medicine seems worse than the cure!"

For GERD "Was commenced on omeprazole 3 years ago for nausea and gastric discomfort. Didn’t work for me... felt like a brick in my stomach. GP then prescribed lansoprazole, and with this, the nausea returned. I was then commenced on ranitidine, which for me is a wonder drug. I’m now down to 150 mg in the evening. However, I am concerned about the fact that there is some evidence to link this drug to some cancers. I continue to take it until more evidence is available. Have discussed with GP and she agrees."

For Gastric Ulcer Maintenance Treatment "I took this after omeprazole (both OTC and prescription) started to lose its efficacy (and after my insurance decided ranitidine was the better/cheaper option). It gave me pretty severe flu-like symptoms almost immediately both times I took it, including dizziness, nausea, stomach pains, drowsiness, and even confusion. Eating and drinking still hurt, so this didn't work very well for me."

For GERD "I have had an issue with GERD every night. I would lose sleep from the constant stomach pains and nausea. I would have to make myself vomit to feel even some relief. I finally got some help from my doctor and a little pill, and now I feel AWESOME! It may be a little hard to swallow at first, but I have never felt better!"

Ranitidine for GERD "This is my first time taking it after some terrible acid reflux. The first one I took, I ended up throwing it back up 45 minutes later, and the second one later that evening took me into a spiral of pain."

Ranitidine for Pathological Hypersecretory Conditions "I wake with a squeezing sensation that develops into nausea every morning around 4:30. I get up, take a half of a 150, Zantac, and half an anti-motion sickness pill and have a large mug of tea with milk. I lie there awake for nearly 2 hours until I fall back to sleep. When I wake again around 8:00, I have a bowl, 6, of Frosted Mini Wheats and some half and half. I try to go back to sleep again and wake at varying times, or I don't get back to sleep at all. The pain and nausea start up again early afternoon, so I take the other half of a Zantac. I am in bed off and on till suppertime. Sometimes I have to take another half and a half anti-motion sickness pill in the evening. This is my usual day."

Ranitidine for GERD "Used to work well for my acid reflux, but recently started making me nauseous, to the point I feel like I'm going to throw up. Tried Zantac 75 and had the same result."
