For Schizophrenia "I've been taking paliperidone for the last year with good results: a proactive lifestyle including uni and drinking with no delusions, depression, or paranoia and few hallucinations at night. However, the prolactin level has increased to where the possibility of breast tissue (gynecomastia) can form. As a preventive measure, my doctors have suggested that I change medication. I have had perceptibly minor side effects (akinesia [which annoys others, but when genuinely interested, I stop], monthly upper lip muscle tightening, sexual dysfunction, broken sleep, vivid dreams, hypnagogic hallucinations [weird and sometimes scary]). Would recommend. Consult doctor, but if risperidone worked, try this as it's a metabolite of risperidone."

Paliperidone "I’ve been on Invega for about two years. I started with Invega Sustenna (shot once a month) for about 6 months, then switched to Trinza. Overall, the drug has worked really well for me until I began to develop tardive dyskinesia. About 6 months ago, I also had a mild manic episode on the second-to-lowest dose. Because of this, they upped my dose, and I’ve gained 30 lbs in 6 months and have no sex drive. Such a better option compared to Haldol and lithium, which made me gain 60 lbs and had so many other side effects. I lost 30 lbs when they lowered my dose to the second-lowest of Invega, but unfortunately gained it all back when they upped the dose. I hate taking medication, this is all still kinda new to me, and I want to eventually get off meds, but my psychiatrist won’t let me."

Paliperidone for Schizoaffective Disorder "I have schizoaffective disorder, and I was put on Invega because lithium causes kidney disease. It helps me sleep and to be able to function. The only side effect is it causes sexual dysfunction, which is a common side effect."

Paliperidone for Schizoaffective Disorder "I have been taking Invega (117) for 3 years after a serious mental breakdown and being court committed to the psych ward against my will. I am diagnosed with bipolar and schizoaffective disorder. I was hallucinating, talking to myself and to my hallucinations, manic, angry, and delusional. This drug has really helped me. Although I gained a lot of weight and lost my sex drive, all of my hallucinations and delusions have completely stopped! I feel like it has improved my life. I actually do not mind the side effects and am grateful that I can now live a calm and peaceful life."

Paliperidone for Schizophrenia "I took risperidone in 2001 and had weight gain and sexual dysfunction. I changed to olanzapine, and I was able to finish my college degree in engineering. The doctor changed me to aripiprazole, but it did not work for me. For about 10 years, I have been taking Invega. I feel good, and my head is clear. I am able to maintain a healthy weight that is managed with physical activity. I have no sexual dysfunction, but I lack motivation and feel flat."

Paliperidone for Schizoaffective Disorder "The medication stopped my psychosis cold, dead. It gave me my life back and has been the only thing that worked. Less weight gain, fatigue, and sexual side effects."

Paliperidone for Schizophrenia "Gave me my life back. BEST antipsychotic. Tried many. Felt the most mentally healthy I had in years. Felt like I did before my illness. At first, felt like I couldn't daydream or use my imagination as well. But I soon realized I was feeling inner peace and had the clearest of minds despite that. Used to hear voices, have obsessive intrusive thoughts, had thought broadcasting, delusions, auditory hallucinations, hyper-awareness of thoughts, constant negative commentary, and was used to feeling generally 'bad' always. This was all gone. I was 100% symptom-free and was the most normal I had been in years. Completely nullified all psychotic symptoms. Had a healthy sleep cycle too. But it's not magic, so it didn't synthetically make me happy or disallow me from feeling negative emotion. I still felt pain, and happiness was still rare. But for the most part, I was content and loved my life again. Only con: lost my libido, but I could still have erections. So it was a fair trade-off."
