For Nausea/Vomiting "I have gastritis and am going through a flare-up now. Very sick...nauseous for 8 hours every day. Zofran doesn't help me at all...even doubling the dose, as my doctor recommended. He is giving me Reglan. Praying that works. Nausea is the worst!"

For Nausea/Vomiting "Post-op pain medication was making me vomit. After trying several pain meds, it was decided that I should take 8 mg Zofran every 8 hours. The only side effect of this drug was difficulty passing urine after taking it for more than 3 days. We cut it back to two Zofran daily, and that seemed to take care of the side effect."

For Nausea/Vomiting "I was hit in the head recently. I had to go to the hospital. I was dry heaving and concussed. I was given an IV, then the bag was hung. I asked what it was. 'Zofran, it should help you stop needing to throw up.' It did, I stopped dry heaving within 2 minutes. Though I had a concussion, I did become a little confused. It really stops you from needing to vomit. Now I am taking a different drug to reduce nausea. If you are offered Zofran by a doctor for your issue, I would try it. It really helped me in the hospital. No side effects, you might be mildly dizzy or confused. I probably had a large dose. I have no idea. The IV was flowing into my arm for over 30 minutes. It's a drug that serves a purpose, with few side effects."

For Nausea/Vomiting, Chemotherapy Induced "Going through chemotherapy for ALL for 3 years, and I've tried EVERY available CNIV that I could get when I was doing my chemotherapy. Zofran, by far, was the best for me, specifically the sublingual (melt under the tongue). It also has a cherry taste to it, and the taste gives me an almost instantaneous feeling of the symptoms being not as bad, and then as it finally melts, it greatly reduces the symptoms, if not completely stops them. Sometimes, unfortunately, there are times that even though it reduced symptoms, the CNIV was just stronger, and I'd still not feel too well and still have CNIV. But it did at least help and make it more tolerable when it didn't completely take it away."

For Nausea/Vomiting "Zofran is perfect for chronic nausea. I find that it doesn’t work as well if you are going through severe episodes of nausea, but with day-to-day nausea, this medication has been a lifesaver! I am very sensitive to medication side effects and usually get every common side effect listed on a medication, but Zofran hasn’t ever really caused side effects for me. Love this medication."

For Nausea/Vomiting "Zofran is amazing. Absolutely amazing. My entire life, I have feared throwing up. Not sure why, but I now have anxiety because of it. I found out I was pregnant and was slightly nauseous all day, every day, but with someone who fears vomiting greatly, I was scared and upset. My doctor finally prescribed me Zofran after visiting the hospital for nausea, and it has been helping me ever since. I have been taking it for 4 years now whenever I need it, and it takes it away immediately. So thankful."

For Nausea/Vomiting "I got food poisoning and couldn't stop vomiting and having nausea from 3 pm to about 4 am. I was puking so much and dry heaving that I was puking up blood (YIKES!). I found some extra Zofran in my bathroom cabinet from my doctor from the other month, so I decided to take one 4 mg pill. Vomiting and nausea subsided after 15 minutes of taking Zofran. Zofran, you're a lifesaver!!! Would always like to carry this medication around with me all day if I could. Adam"

For Nausea/Vomiting "I like the Zofran pills when they actually work, but it seems like I have to take a pill, throw up, and then take another for it to be effective. Also, I always wake up with a headache once taken. I do want to note that when I was given Zofran in the hospital through the IV, I had no issues with nausea, it’s only when I take it orally that it does the opposite of what I’d like. All bodies are different, and this is just my reaction. I am on a low dose and have not upped the amount I’m taking. $45 for 15 pills (without insurance), and I’ve puked up half of them. Not worth it, especially when an anti-nausea causes nauseous."

For Nausea/Vomiting "I've been on Zofran multiple times. For nausea and vomiting due to a digestive disorder I had, and when I was pregnant (24/7 sickness for most of the pregnancy). For the pregnancy, it was okay. It took the edge off. Nothing can ever truly 100% help that level of constant nausea, but it kept me from vomiting, so I was able to keep down water and food. For the digestive problem causing sickness, it was a miracle. Gives me a headache but well worth it. Going from feeling so sick to feeling way better. It works wonders."

For Nausea/Vomiting "I have taken Zofran on and off for over 10 years. I have been given it after surgery for nausea and vomiting. Also, now again for gastroparesis. Sometimes the nausea and fullness in my stomach are very uncomfortable. Because there are little to no medications or non-invasive therapies, I sometimes will use this to help settle my stomach. While it does nothing for motility, it does alleviate rough times."

For Nausea/Vomiting "Zofran is a lifesaver! Works quickly and very well. I get bad anxiety and worry a lot, which causes recent and sometimes unbearable stomach upset. One pill and I'm good! I am so happy I found relief. It does cause constipation for me, but I'd much rather deal with that!"

For Nausea/Vomiting "Zofran is incredible. I was prescribed it when I started suffering from constant nausea about three months ago, and it has been a lifesaver ever since. It works almost immediately, even after taking it for so long, and has only not worked twice, both times when I had already eaten fatty or greasy foods and had other meds in my system. It can make you extremely constipated, so make sure you're hydrating yourself and consuming lots of fiber, but other than that, I never experienced an adverse side effect or interaction."

For Gastroenteritis "I have to go into the hospital every two months because I start throwing up and go into a coma state if I do not get IV in me. They gave me Zofran the last time, and I was up and good as new in 5 minutes. I will keep this on hand at home for future episodes!"

For Nausea/Vomiting "This really is a lifesaver. I'm 17 weeks pregnant and have crippling morning sickness. So bad that I could not eat or drink anything for over a week. As soon as I took one pill, I became 100000000 times better. I would recommend this pill to anyone. I love it. 10 out of 10 in my book."

For Nausea/Vomiting "I had my gallbladder removed in September and have been on this drug (as needed) since. It is a godsend. I don't get as nauseated as I was the first month after surgery but still have nausea here and there. This drug works very quickly, and I feel instant relief. Sometimes I find myself needing to take 2 doses if the nausea is severe, and it helps to ease it. Recommend this for anyone that struggles with nausea."

For Gastroenteritis "Zofran is heaven-sent. It saved me and my baby's lives. I was sick for 9 months with hyperemesis gravidarum. I was on a Zofran pump as well as IV hydration. I don't know if my baby would have survived without it. I'm still using it for chronic nausea. I wish I could personally thank the creators of this drug. Thank you."

For Nausea/Vomiting "I have a variety of GI issues as well as a phobia of throwing up, and ever since I've been taking Zofran ODT, I've been able to function without throwing up in the middle of the night every night. My only complaint would be that after 5 years of taking it, it doesn't work as magically as it did at the start, but it still works wonders."

For Nausea/Vomiting "I've been dealing with extreme nausea and vomiting for the past 6 months, and it finally got to the point where I couldn't take it anymore and went to the ER. They gave me Zofran through IV and was feeling better in about an hour. After I was released, I was on 4 mg every 8 hours, and for about a week, I was back to my old self. Then things started to go downhill, and they boosted it to 8 mg. Now it doesn't even work anymore and makes me more nauseous than I was before. I also got pretty bad constipation and headaches after taking the medication. Not to mention, if you're taking the tablets, be ready to handle the taste because it is DISGUSTING."

For Nausea/Vomiting "Since childhood, I’ve always been nausea-prone. Sometimes there would be a direct correlation, such as motion (car more often) sickness, overeating/unhealthy eating, etc. Mostly, it just comes out of nowhere and stops me in my tracks. Without insurance, it was very expensive (not sure how much, but $$$). Ever since having insurance and paying a few dollars, I will never be caught dead without a couple tabs on my person! My GI was very understanding and prescribed 60 tabs a month (up to 2 a day) with a generous amount of refills! Only once did it not work, but that was on New Year's, and I believe for obvious reasons! I’ve not really noticed side effects since my nausea throws off my body anyway. I take this med at least once a week. I can’t believe I wasn’t introduced to this sooner! It’s saved my life."

For Nausea/Vomiting, Chemotherapy Induced "I had a very long treatment time, 3X a week, 2 8-hour sessions with three types of chemo radiation. It was every 3rd week, Wed, Thur, and Fri. Wed/Thur were 8-hour sessions, Fri, 4 hours. I was constantly vomiting, morning, noon, and night. I took this from the get-go, but after about my 2nd session, I threw up a lot in the mornings, or if I coughed too hard even. I know it would have been SO much worse without the Zofran. I think with the amount of treatment I had, both chemo and radiation, to both my chest and to my brain that I was VERY lucky I wasn't more sick, and frankly, I'm lucky to be here at all. Thank you, Cancer Treatment Center, and of course, thank you, God!"

For Nausea/Vomiting "I have been nauseous due to either a medication I'm on or a stomach issue. I hesitated to take Zofran until I finally couldn't take the nausea anymore. Zofran worked so well for me! It actually kept me from going to the emergency room. It's a wonderful drug for nausea. Constipation is a side effect, but I'll take that over the nausea."

For Nausea/Vomiting, Chemotherapy Induced "I'm one of those people that would rather be in pain than nauseous, so when I started chemotherapy, I knew I was in for a ride. I was given a cocktail of meds right before chemo and then Decadron and Zofran for a couple of days after for allergic reaction and nausea. For the times after that 'as needed,' I have Zofran & Compazine for nausea and Ativan for 'anticipatory nausea.' I guess the Ativan would help some commenters in this thread who actually get sick from thinking about getting sick. It made me too drowsy, so I was left with the Compazine and Zofran. I found the Zofran to be by far the most effective; I take one 4 mg tablet as soon as I start feeling queasy, and within 10-15 minutes, I am fine - I'm even able to eat. Thankfully, my insurance covers it as it is a little more expensive than some meds for nausea, but to me, it's worth not vomiting. I recommend this medication highly."

For Nausea/Vomiting "I have been having a lot of stomach issues. I was told it was a bunch of things. At last, it took about 4 months to conclude it was my colon. After a bout in the hospital, I was given Zofran, which worked wonders in no time at all; was also given Phenergan at one point and immediately became extremely irate until I passed out from it. In comparison, Zofran is a godsend. Can be expensive."

For Nausea/Vomiting "My daughter was experiencing a constant unexplained ache in her stomach and a feeling that she was going to throw up, that no stomach test could find. Three months later, an MRI showed she had an AVM in her brain. Surgery to repair took all symptoms away. Three years later, she started having the same feelings. Found out the feeling of throwing up was the aura before partial seizures they didn't know she was having. Still having the gnawing ache. One amazing doctor suggested Zofran... it was our miracle. She has been fine ever since."

For Nausea/Vomiting, Radiation Induced "After radiation, my husband could not keep anything down. If he coughed, sneezed, brushed his teeth, or just consumed food, he would throw up. After taking this drug for three days, it has made a world of difference. It is costly, but worth the outcome."
