For Nausea/Vomiting "I take oxycodone for chronic persistent back pain because of spinal stenosis. As a result, I frequently have nausea and vomiting, roughly 4-5 times a week. My pain management doctor always prescribes Zofran which doesn’t help in the slightest. I tell him this, but he keeps prescribing it nonetheless. He says it is safe and doesn’t make you sleepy. I say if it doesn’t work, what good is it? My GI doctor gave me Phenergan, which does help, but he tells me to go back to the pain guy to get more. I go back, tell him, yet he just gives me more Zofran. DON'T YOU JUST LOVE PHYSICIANS WHO LISTEN TO THEIR PATIENTS (sarcasm)."

For Nausea/Vomiting "Day 1 of what the docs think is the flu, first time puking in a long time. Couldn't hold down water or Pepto. Was so nauseous I was having dreams that were making it worse. Zofran has kicked my nausea, and now I can eat and drink again and therefore take ibuprofen and my flu meds. Holy cheese, Batman."

For Nausea/Vomiting "I have Crohn's disease, emetophobia, and I also take quite a few pain meds for chronic pain, all of which make me extremely nauseous, so I suffer nausea a lot! Ondansetron is a lifesaver for me. I take 4 mg every 8-12 hours, and on a good day, some days I take 8 mg if it's really bad! I've been taking it daily for nearly 6 months, and it is still as effective as the first time I took it! I live in the UK, so I am fortunate that I don't have to pay eye-watering prices. I'd recommend it to anybody, it's brilliant."

For Nausea/Vomiting "I was extremely hungover and was vomiting for about 14 hours non-stop before being prescribed Zofran. I know it seems silly to get medication for a hangover, but I was becoming dangerously dehydrated from binge drinking and heavy vomiting, as I was unable to keep even a sip of water down. Not even ten minutes after taking the medicine (dissolvable pills), I already felt significant relief from the nausea, and therefore the vomiting as well. A bit expensive, but completely worth it."

For Nausea/Vomiting "I've had central vertigo for years, but the nausea and vomiting have increased lately. My gastroenterologist prescribed Zofran 4 mg once a day. It's a miracle! I can go out and shop without vomiting in the aisles of the grocery store. I have my life back."

For Gastroenteritis "This is a miracle drug! So many times, Zofran came in for the save. Saved my spouse, I, and our 7 and 5-year-old a trip to the ER when the norovirus hit us. Took it after terrible dry heaves, and within 20 minutes, I was able to sleep. This medicine also helped after my C-section when I was nauseous. When my son had hand, foot, and mouth and was uncontrollably vomiting, the doctor gave him this medicine too, within an hour, he was eating fine! This was also great for my IBS symptoms when they hit hard. 10/10!"

For Nausea/Vomiting "This is the best medicine for vomiting I have ever had. I was on IV antibiotics with a lot of side effects, especially nausea, and the antibiotics could not be changed. I literally could not hold down water. I had to be on them for 3 months, and Zofran (both IV and ODT) helped me immensely. I was able to drink and even eat a little with much less nausea. People have to remember no medication may make symptoms resolve completely every time, but this comes pretty close. When I took it for regular nausea from a virus or something, it worked like 100% nausea gone. For me, there were no side effects, and again people have to remember if you're sick, some of the symptoms may not be side effects. If you're vomiting repeatedly and are dehydrated, of course, you're going to have a headache. But everyone is different, so what works for one may not have the same effects for another. But I'm a health care worker, and whoever is given Zofran usually has relief, so give it a try if your doctor says it's okay! Good luck."

For Nausea/Vomiting "Was very sick from antibiotics and large doses of Prednisone to help with the asthma. Couldn't hold any food down but did take enough water and Gatorade. Kept losing weight and had terrible abdominal cramps with the nausea. Finally saw another doctor after 11 days who prescribed the Zofran, and all nausea and cramps totally went away. Finally, I could start eating again! Zofran was a miracle med for me!"

For Gastroenteritis "Like one of the reviews above. I went into the ER with gastroenteritis symptoms. Could not keep down anything, including water, due to nausea and heavy vomiting of anything. Was given an injection of Zofran and a prescription for the generic ondansetron and felt less nauseous. Allows me to eat better and to sleep."

For Nausea/Vomiting "I was taking Zofran for awful stomach upset with nausea because one of my other medicines I was on, I picked up at the pharmacy, was a generic new form of medication to treat pain. This new medicine made me very sick. Zofran helped out a lot, plus I could take it up to four times per day. However, I'm also on Lexapro for depression and panic attacks. One day, after 2 weeks on these meds, I had severe shaking happening to me, and I never felt this way before. Come to find out taking both the Zofran and Lexapro on the same day each day was a high risk of a drug interaction, very severe, and I was having the symptoms of a bad interaction. I need to change my Lexapro to another type of depression med. But, every depression med is bad with Zofran."

For Gastroenteritis "I’ve been sick with the stomach flu since last night. Ate dinner, then a couple of hours later was in the bathroom throwing up with major diarrhea. Stayed on the toilet literally all night. It was one of those “one little move and you feel like you’re going to throw up” times. Well, once morning came the puking stopped, but I was still really nauseous with dry heaves. So I called my doctor to see if there was anything I could take, and they recommended Zofran. Wow, is this a miracle drug! My nausea was gone within 10-15 minutes of taking it, and I was even able to hold down a couple of popsicles and water with it, until about an hour and a half ago when I started feeling nauseous again (the meds were wearing off, so I took another one, and within 10 minutes my nausea was gone! I even ate another popsicle and downed a little juice glass of water and didn’t throw up! If this little white, grape-flavored pill isn’t magic, then I don’t know what is!"

For Nausea/Vomiting "I can't say enough about Zofran. I was curled in a fetal position in front of the bathroom, on the floor, in a cold sweat after vomiting for the last two hours. The last bout was dry heaving. Still, the nausea was crippling me. My wife gave me one pill, and within 30 minutes, the hell I was going through broke like an ocean tide receding. I keep Zofran in the medicine cabinet now, at all times."

For Nausea/Vomiting, Chemotherapy Induced "I went through a pure nightmare during chemo for my triple negative BC in 2015. Nausea is an understatement. My oncologist told me that I was the worst patient she ever had with nausea. This is a woman who was practicing in the '70s when they still treated with mercury. I cannot tell you how many nausea medications I was prescribed. Zofran was by far the BEST medication at relieving my symptoms. Five years later I still cannot 'handle' any kind of nausea. I have an 'emergency' prescription that I have with me 24/7. I only need it maybe twice a year, but it is still the magic bullet that relieves any nausea/vomiting I may have. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS MEDICATION!!!"

For Nausea/Vomiting "Ever since the 5th week of my pregnancy, my morning sickness was terrible. I lost weight and couldn't keep a thing down. I could hardly get out of bed. My doctor prescribed Zofran, and it's been a huge help. Doesn't always take away the nausea feeling, but no more vomiting! Definitely recommend it."

For Nausea/Vomiting, Radiation Induced "I have esophageal cancer, having radiation daily and chemo weekly. This medicine is so precise about keeping the nausea and vomiting down, I can tell exactly when a dose is due: 1 every 12 hours. I am thankful this medicine is there. The side effects are very bearable (unknown concerning liver). It is very expensive, but if you have a severe issue, the money is not your main concern. If you have cancer, there are agencies that can help with the drug cost. Try AM Cancer Soc. Maybe they can help guide you. Keep your spirits up and prayers in your daily life. Take care."

For Nausea/Vomiting "I used to take Requip for restless leg syndrome, and sometimes it made me so sick I would vomit. Other nights it would be fine. One day I decided to call my PCP for a script of Zofran or Phenergan to help subside the horrible, nasty vomiting and nausea effects of Requip, and they wrote me a script of 12 4 mg Zofran swallowable tablets. It helped almost immediately (not within a minute, but 10 minutes or less), and then I decided to stop my Requip medication because it just made me sick. My RLS went away with other meds that I take, and while I still take Zofran, I enjoy it for any spur-of-the-moment 'I'M GONNA BE SICK' kind of feeling, so I always carry it with me. At a hospital visit, they gave me a dissolvable one that tasted like berries. Good med."

For Nausea/Vomiting "The side effects from various drugs, particularly morphine, caused significant nausea. In fact, I'd have to rate the nausea as worse than the actual pain. Zofran worked like a charm, quite quickly, with little side effects (as far as I know). It certainly made my recent visit to the hospital much more comfortable!"

For Gastroenteritis "Spent a week vomiting and with diarrhea. Couldn't keep anything down and was getting worse instead of better. I ended up driving to the ER with a vomit bag to my face, trying not to crap myself. When they gave me the Zofran, I felt better in 5 minutes and was able to eat a little plain chicken and rice with broth a couple of hours later. I didn't realize just how much nausea I had until the whole room suddenly stopped waving. Slept better than I have in a long time, and this morning I didn't throw up! Crackers and Gatorade for breakfast! Every 6 hours, and I love this little pill."

For Nausea/Vomiting "This medication worked wonders when I had my hip scope back in May. I only took pain pills to sleep, but when I went to shower and sat down after taking my pills, I was so nauseous and took Zofran, and it worked within 5 minutes! I actually used it for a hangover once and it still worked amazingly! Haha."

For Nausea/Vomiting "I have gastritis and am going through a flare-up now. Very sick...nauseous for 8 hours every day. Zofran doesn't help me at all...even doubling the dose, as my doctor recommended. He is giving me Reglan. Praying that works. Nausea is the worst!"

For Nausea/Vomiting "I got food poisoning and couldn't stop vomiting and having nausea from 3 pm to about 4 am. I was puking so much and dry heaving that I was puking up blood (YIKES!). I found some extra Zofran in my bathroom cabinet from my doctor from the other month, so I decided to take one 4 mg pill. Vomiting and nausea subsided after 15 minutes of taking Zofran. Zofran, you're a lifesaver!!! Would always like to carry this medication around with me all day if I could. Adam"

For Nausea/Vomiting "I like the Zofran pills when they actually work, but it seems like I have to take a pill, throw up, and then take another for it to be effective. Also, I always wake up with a headache once taken. I do want to note that when I was given Zofran in the hospital through the IV, I had no issues with nausea, it’s only when I take it orally that it does the opposite of what I’d like. All bodies are different, and this is just my reaction. I am on a low dose and have not upped the amount I’m taking. $45 for 15 pills (without insurance), and I’ve puked up half of them. Not worth it, especially when an anti-nausea causes nauseous."

For Nausea/Vomiting "I have taken Zofran on and off for over 10 years. I have been given it after surgery for nausea and vomiting. Also, now again for gastroparesis. Sometimes the nausea and fullness in my stomach are very uncomfortable. Because there are little to no medications or non-invasive therapies, I sometimes will use this to help settle my stomach. While it does nothing for motility, it does alleviate rough times."

For Nausea/Vomiting "I had my gallbladder removed in September and have been on this drug (as needed) since. It is a godsend. I don't get as nauseated as I was the first month after surgery but still have nausea here and there. This drug works very quickly, and I feel instant relief. Sometimes I find myself needing to take 2 doses if the nausea is severe, and it helps to ease it. Recommend this for anyone that struggles with nausea."

For Nausea/Vomiting "I have been taking this medication at least once a week for about four years now. I have terrible stomach issues now that I no longer have my gallbladder that cause stomach pain, nausea and no appetite, as well as anxiety that manifests as nausea and stomach pain. I also have a HUGE fear of vomiting. This pill has always worked and kept me from vomiting, but on occasion the nausea sticks around but it’s nothing too terrible. I don’t know what I would do without this medication. It helps me live a normal life. I take 4 mg every 4-6 hours as needed, if it’s a rough day I’ll take 8 mg every 6-8 hours. The only downfall is the side effect of constipation, but as someone who is terrified of vomiting, I’ll take the constipation over vomiting any day."
