Ondansetron for Nausea/Vomiting "I was extremely hungover and was vomiting for about 14 hours non-stop before being prescribed Zofran. I know it seems silly to get medication for a hangover, but I was becoming dangerously dehydrated from binge drinking and heavy vomiting, as I was unable to keep even a sip of water down. Not even ten minutes after taking the medicine (dissolvable pills), I already felt significant relief from the nausea, and therefore the vomiting as well. A bit expensive, but completely worth it."

Ondansetron for Nausea/Vomiting "Last night I had severe diarrhea and stomach pain and dizziness, maybe I was dehydrated from the stomach bug, so I went to the ER and they said they were going to give me Zofran, which I have a phobia of trying new pills, but my stomach hurt so bad. I told the nurse I'd break it in half till I seen how small it was, and she said just let it dissolve on your tongue, so I did, and it had a strawberry flavor, which I told her, 'Wow, this tastes good.' Within about 5 minutes, my nausea had gotten so much better, it even relaxed me a bit. I'm telling you folks, if you have the stomach bug or stomach aches, give this a shot. I had no side effects at all, maybe a little sleepiness, but like others, I'll take that over the stomach pain. Thanks, Zofran."

Ondansetron for Nausea/Vomiting, Chemotherapy Induced "My mother was diagnosed with ovarian cancer and had to undergo months of chemotherapy which caused her to be severely sick (she was 69 at the time of diagnosis). The medication for sickness that the hospital gave her didn't work, and she still vomited and felt drained, etc., from both the vomiting and the chemotherapy. I went to my GP (I'm English) and asked him if there was anything which he could prescribe to help her as it was terrible seeing her going through this, and he prescribed Zofran. I cannot praise this medication enough, within moments of her taking it, her sickness subsided, and she continued through her chemotherapy taking only the Zofran, and she was never sick again!"

Ondansetron for Gastroenteritis "It hid hard and fast and took me completely by surprise when I found myself dealing with vomiting and stuff uncontrollably exiting through the other end at the very same time. A five-day prescription of Zofran from my doctor took care of everything quickly and with no side effects. Thank goodness for Zofran!"

Ondansetron for Gastroenteritis "I can say I used to be a jealous husband because when our daughter gets the stomach bug, I sometimes got it. There is a 50/50 chance I would get it, and my wife NEVER gets it. When I found out about Zofran, it saved my life. I'm already a hypochondriac when it comes to the stomach bug, I hate it because, as a child of the '90s, there was no such pill, and I always got the dirty bug. Now I take Zofran when my daughter throws up or someone touches me with it, just in case, so I don't throw up, and it always works because I stay upset stomach-free. Just boggles my mind why docs never give it to patients, someone told me about it, that's how I knew about it."

Ondansetron for Gastroenteritis "22 years on massive amounts of steroids to treat my Addison's... 22 years of vomiting most days. Many hospital stays. Severe gastroenteritis. First time trying this. It's amazing! It was prescribed by a lovely doc at my last trip to the ER. Sometimes you get lucky. My eating is broken. I'm a vibrant, beautiful 42-year-old woman, and I've been reduced to a meager 100 pounds. This helps. So far. Fingers crossed."

Ondansetron for Gastroenteritis "I went into the ER with gastroenteritis symptoms. I was given two injections of Zofran and a prescription for pills at home. It works so well and allows me to sleep really well. I have a very comfortable and calm feeling, which leads to a nice deep sleep. It works well for the nausea."

Ondansetron for Nausea/Vomiting "This medicine potentially saved my life! I had no appetite. In three days, I lost 7 pounds! My wife took me to the ER, tests were ran, and the physician prescribed Zofran 4 mg, and it worked. Within ten minutes, I was eating a turkey burger with garlic oven fries. Ondansetron for Nausea/Vomiting "I take Zofran only if I feel nauseated with migraine headaches. Otherwise, I take Phenergan for nausea related to severe pain. These two work very differently but work very well for my specific needs. I can't take Phenergan for migraine nausea, it doesn't work. Only Zofran works for migraine nausea. I do often have to take two, though."

Ondansetron for Nausea/Vomiting "I've had central vertigo for years, but the nausea and vomiting have increased lately. My gastroenterologist prescribed Zofran 4 mg once a day. It's a miracle! I can go out and shop without vomiting in the aisles of the grocery store. I have my life back."

Ondansetron for Nausea/Vomiting "I was given this medication after a severe bout of anxiety and panic attacks. I lost 25 lbs in 2 weeks due to the panic and had no appetite. Of course, when you don't eat for that long, nausea can easily set in. I couldn't even move off the couch for fear of feeling extremely sick or dry heaving. I was finally given this miracle pill, and the nausea quickly went from 10 (the worst) to easily a 2 or 3 within about 45 minutes. I took it for a week as I tried to get my appetite back and anxiety under control with other meds. Highly effective. I did experience some constipation from this medication, but that could also be due to the starvation mode I was in for 2 weeks. Either way, highly recommend to anyone dealing with nausea."

Ondansetron for Nausea/Vomiting "I am currently 25 weeks pregnant and have had bad nausea/morning sickness since week 5. This medicine has been wonderful. There are times when I still feel sick, but it's bearable, and I don't throw up. I've been taking it so long now that the sleepiness it causes doesn't affect me anymore. However, the constipation from it has been a downer."

Ondansetron for Nausea/Vomiting "I take several medications for the treatment of autoimmune disease. I had hiatal hernia surgery, so it is important I do not vomit unless absolutely necessary. Zofran works quickly to eliminate nausea and vomiting and also relaxes me."

Ondansetron for Nausea/Vomiting "As this viral stomach bug tore through me and all my kids, it presented excruciating stomach pains. I was prescribed Zofran for myself after puking and going diarrhea for 8 hours back to back with no relief. It worked like a miracle. As this bug started on each kid, I let them puke 6 times to get the virus out. Once they were consistently dry heaving, I gave one tablet (4 mg), which is recommended for 2 to 12-year-olds. Thank God it allowed the stomach contractions to subside, and they fell asleep! However, would not use on kids 4 and under without consulting an MD."

Ondansetron for Gastroenteritis "This is a miracle drug! So many times, Zofran came in for the save. Saved my spouse, I, and our 7 and 5-year-old a trip to the ER when the norovirus hit us. Took it after terrible dry heaves, and within 20 minutes, I was able to sleep. This medicine also helped after my C-section when I was nauseous. When my son had hand, foot, and mouth and was uncontrollably vomiting, the doctor gave him this medicine too, within an hour, he was eating fine! This was also great for my IBS symptoms when they hit hard. 10/10!"

Ondansetron for Nausea/Vomiting "Zofran is a lifesaver! I’ve been dealing with debilitating, constant nausea for months, and some days this pill is the only thing that makes me able to eat. Ondansetron for Nausea/Vomiting "This medication is as close to a miracle for anyone with terrible nausea as it gets. Whether you have the flu or are going through chemo, Zofran is amazing. It works on your serotonin receptors; however, it is not like an antidepressant. It targets a specific function and suddenly, almost instantly in my case, nausea is gone. I thank my lucky stars that this medication exists. For many, it is a huge difference maker."

Ondansetron for Nausea/Vomiting "This is the best medicine for vomiting I have ever had. I was on IV antibiotics with a lot of side effects, especially nausea, and the antibiotics could not be changed. I literally could not hold down water. I had to be on them for 3 months, and Zofran (both IV and ODT) helped me immensely. I was able to drink and even eat a little with much less nausea. People have to remember no medication may make symptoms resolve completely every time, but this comes pretty close. When I took it for regular nausea from a virus or something, it worked like 100% nausea gone. For me, there were no side effects, and again people have to remember if you're sick, some of the symptoms may not be side effects. If you're vomiting repeatedly and are dehydrated, of course, you're going to have a headache. But everyone is different, so what works for one may not have the same effects for another. But I'm a health care worker, and whoever is given Zofran usually has relief, so give it a try if your doctor says it's okay! Good luck."

Ondansetron for Nausea/Vomiting "I was prescribed Zofran a few months back, I have suffered from nausea since I was 17 (I'm 36 now). This is the only drug that has ever worked for me, all the other over-the-counter meds just make the nausea worse. This makes my nausea go away within 30 mins and keeps it gone for 8 hours. I wish this had been around when I was younger."

Ondansetron for Nausea/Vomiting "Was very sick from antibiotics and large doses of Prednisone to help with the asthma. Couldn't hold any food down but did take enough water and Gatorade. Kept losing weight and had terrible abdominal cramps with the nausea. Finally saw another doctor after 11 days who prescribed the Zofran, and all nausea and cramps totally went away. Finally, I could start eating again! Zofran was a miracle med for me!"

For Alcohol Use Disorder "In my chequered relationship with alcohol (35 yrs), I have found my way back to sobriety, crippled with nausea and vomiting many times. I have tried the usual suspects over the years. Medicines which increase motility (emptying of the stomach more quickly) right up to phenothiazines (used to relieve, amongst other things, seasickness and psychosis). Google anti-emetics. If you want to get sober, do it over a one-week to ten-day period with family support (probably more important than any drug). Ask your doctor for a serious anti-sickness drug, keep hydrated!!! Ondansetron for Nausea/Vomiting, Postoperative "So I was prescribed Zofran when I got my wisdom teeth out! Worked like a charm! I also have had this huge fear of vomiting, so bad that I’ll work myself up and become so anxious that I feel like I’ll vomit. This little tablet helps a bunch!"

Ondansetron for Nausea/Vomiting "I have had nausea and been vomiting for one year and one month. I am 16, and I have spent 90% of my life the past 1.1 years in bed sick. The last month, FINALLY, after so many medications... THIS was it. I am still being tested as no one knows what is wrong that is causing me to be so sick... Ondansetron for Nausea/Vomiting "This medication works wonders for me whenever I feel sick or nauseous. The flavored tablets that disintegrate under the tongue or in the mouth are very convenient and work really quickly to relieve nausea/vomiting. The only real side effect from it that I have noticed is a slight tired feeling. I'd much rather feel a little sleepy than sick to my stomach. I really recommend this medicine if your doctor also feels that it is right for you."
