For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I've used this medicine in the past and had no problems. Today I bought the miconazole 3, and I used it about 10 minutes ago. At first, I had some pretty bad itching, and I thought I was having an allergic reaction, so I tried to push some out and just deal with the rest. It definitely helps a LOT if you do not itch it. Also, if you have a yeast infection, do not itch, and it will feel 10x better. Now it is still slightly itchy, but not unbearable. I think the skin being raw from itching has a lot to do with the burning and itching. They must have changed something, hopefully, this makes it more effective."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I'm at work writing this. This morning I felt kind of irritated and worried I was developing a yeast infection. So during my lunch break, I bought a 1-day miconazole capsule. I didn't want to develop a full-blown yeast infection. Oh, how I wish I had read the reviews before unleashing this abomination onto tender parts! I put the capsule in, used some of the cream it came with, washed up, and as I walked back to my office, I almost fell over in pain. It felt like someone had stuffed a lit Molotov cocktail in my vagina. I thought maybe it was a severe allergic reaction. Three hours later, and I'm still trapped at work in pain, praying I can get home because I can barely walk. This is not medication, this is chemical warfare on lady parts. The mild irritation I felt before using this product is nothing compared to the pain of its use. The only thing I can liken it to is one time a bleach product splashed in my eye, and I had to be treated for a chemical burn to my eyeball. So yeah, it's like that."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "If you're reading this, it's probably too late, just like the rest of us: I thought I would try to use Monistat 3 for my mild YI. Worst mistake I've ever made in my life. I inserted the cream, I didn't even have time to stand up fully and pull my drawers up before the burning took over. I thought I was allergic, I thought about calling an ambulance, and 20 minutes later, I even thought about calling the funeral home because my vagina was dying, and so was I. I was in tears, I was gasping for air, and I was praying to the Lord to take the pain away. I felt as if someone crushed some peppers, added some acid, threw in some glass and Legos, and shoved it straight up in my cooch. Inside and out, I was on fire, I felt like I was birthing a dragon. Nothing helped, and it only got worse. DON'T use Monistat. I’d take the YI over that fire crotch any day!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I have some symptoms that I have had before when I had a yeast infection, so I looked online for Clotrimazole vaginal cream (since I always use it), and this product came up in the search results! So I thought they should be the same thing with different names! (Which usually happens in medicines from different companies.) So I went to the store and bought it. I used it for two nights, and I still have one more to go. BUT apparently I am allergic to it!!! The symptoms have not changed at all and even got worse. I am still very uncomfortable, having a very irritated, red, and itchy vulva and labia! I am going to stop using it. Why should this happen?! This should be changed! People can get really hurt!"

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "(This review goes into graphic detail, just a warning). Yes. It hurts. SO BAD. It itches like you can't even imagine; you feel like there's a volcano between your legs, etc. BUT IT ACTUALLY WORKS. This is my go-to for getting rid of yeast infections. I just finished the worst one I've ever had, and I got Monistat 1 because I was on my period and didn't want to keep reapplying. The first 3 days were itchy and miserable and gross, but by day 4 it didn't itch unless I was peeing/changing my pad (do not use tampons during a yeast infection), and within a week it was gone. I did think I was having an allergic reaction the first time I took Monistat, especially after reading the other reviews on here, but after trying to beat a later yeast infection by eating Greek yogurt, I can assure you that the Monistat really does work. TL;DR It hurts but it works!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "It's best to be aware of all possible side effects before using anything near your ladybits. I purchased a generic miconazole 7-day treatment. The burning and itching were more intense than the actual infection, but something I could ignore. The real problem was the allergic reaction that caused a bumpy rash on my inner thighs! Cream leaked out onto my skin, which resulted in tender red itchy eruptions. Due to my athletic frame with meaty thighs that touch, this was a recipe for disaster. I regained a sense of normalcy in about a day after I stopped the medication, cleansed and disinfected with alcohol in areas where I scratched, plus used cornstarch/baby powder to keep the area dry. Who wants a rash in addition to a yeast infection?"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I had the worst experience with Monistat. I thought the medicine wasn't working, and it was just the yeast infection getting worse. I was bleeding and swollen. I was unable to walk or sit down with incredible pain. I don't remember crying because of pain since I was a child. I went to the doctor in the middle of the day, crying in the bathroom while I tried to hold it together on a conference call. The doctor said it was really nasty. I was allergic. I had chemical burns internally and externally. From now on, it is Diflucan all the way. They need to warn about the possibility of this reaction. I had to leave during a very important meeting at work because I was practically writhing in pain."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I would never use this product. It took me until the second day before I realized the severe itching I felt was from the product and not the yeast infection. I just spent 2 hours in the shower dying from the itching, trying to wash it out. Now that I have tried practically everything to get rid of the itch, I decided to try the anti-itch cream it came with (I didn't want to trust it) and found that it actually works. But just to make sure you're not allergic, put a bit on so you can wipe it off if it starts to make things worse."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "***DO NOT USE THE MONISTAT 3 DAY CREAM*** I bought Monistat 3 Day prefilled applicators. Last night, I used the first cream-filled applicator, almost immediately, I began to feel sharp burning twinges. This increased with every passing moment to a burning, itching inferno. It hurt so much that I begged God to take the feeling away. I vowed to never, ever, ever, ever insert this Monistat cream or any other brand like it into my vagina again. I did not have a Diflucan pill on hand, so I bought the 3 Day cream. Add in the fact that I have used the 3 Day suppositories recently without itching and burning. Well, the cream is a different story. FYI, I am a nurse, and the use of this cream felt like a bad allergic reaction, so I took Benadryl and two Motrin. Relief came only when the Benadryl induced a deep sleep. P.S. I have used the one-day oval suppository, it is 10x worse than the 3 Day cream. It hurt so much that I took repeated hot water douches to remove the cream."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Recommended Monistat to use. When I left to buy the product, I realized the doctor never specified which one to take. So I asked the pharmacist, he recommended the generic. So I got the 1-day Miconazole. Immediately took the product after buying. In 10 minutes, I experienced the most excruciating, daunting, unbearable itching and burning down there. I was in tears, I was miserable. I couldn't stand, sit, or walk. Just outright losing my mind. I called my doctor. Not to mention, I am at work. Now, an hour into treatment, I received a call back from the doctor to explain my symptoms. He said the reason for my symptoms was due to the type of Miconazole. Because it was the 1-day dosage, it is extremely potent and powerful. So powerful, it can irritate and cause a negative reaction. The burning, itching, discomfort. I was told to immediately wash out the product. Advised to take the 7-day dosage instead. Still traumatized from my first experience, not sure I will ever use the product. Do your research. Ask questions."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I used the Monistat 1 at night and immediately started itching and burning worse than before using it. Day 1-- intense itching and burning and burning when I pee. Day 2-- woke up with swollen labia and vulva and breaking out on my lady parts. At this point, I was terrified I had an STD (which I never in my life have) and was about to punch my husband in the throat (poor guy was so confused). I went to my doctor, and she told me I was having a severe allergic reaction due to the high dose of medicine in the 1-day capsule and that I would have been better off using boric acid. There was no way to remove the medicine from my vagina, so I was given hydrocortisone and Tylenol. Day 3 it burns so bad I have to use a water bottle to pour water on myself while I'm peeing and also using coconut oil as a barrier afterward. It also hurts to walk! This is POISON TO VAGINAS AND SHOULD BE REMOVED FROM THE MARKET!!"

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I laughed out loud reading Zentragal's comment. Made me laugh so hard. But only because last month I went through the same god-awful itching, burning pain that this 'medicine' made a million times worse. This was the first and only YI I've ever had, and my gyno said it was a severe one (guess why? ANTIBIOTICS.) The first night I did the cream up, I too thought I might be allergic because I wanted to rip it off of my body, but my doc said to stick with the 7 days, so the next night I took some pain relief before I creamed up, and OMG, never again. I thought I was going to be sterile for the rest of my life, everything felt like Dante's Inferno down there, and I thought I'd never have sex ever again, might as well be a nun."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I almost divorced my husband. I usually only get YI when pregnant, and my doctor prescribes a 7-day insert, and I'm good. However, I'm not pregnant right now, but my body decided to spice things up a bit... And OH DID THEY GET SPICY. When I first noticed the symptoms, I decided that I didn't have time to schedule an appointment for something I could buy over the counter. I ran to CVS and found a 1-day option that allowed me to bypass the 7-day treatment WITH an external cream included! Who would still buy a 7-day treatment? Why do they even still make those? Why hasn't my doctor ever told me about this? I grabbed the box and rushed home. It wasn't until a couple of days later when I realized that it wasn't in my head, and my JayJay was LITERALLY ON FIRE. I thought my husband was cheating on me. I ran to my doctor and demanded every test in the book. Everything came back negative. It's still burning off and on. It's been over 2 weeks. My skin is raw. Maybe I'm allergic. Hubby was almost a goner."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "This is day two of the ovule, and my vagina is dying. Day one was fine, but day two is a different story. Which worries me because why am I getting a 'reaction' on day two?! Anyway, I'm so upset. I put it in at midnight, it's 4 a.m., and I can't sleep. It feels like there is a volcano in my vagina, and I don't know what to do D':"

Miconazole topical "Ladies, I had a similar experience with the burning. I looked it up online, and a doctor said it was an allergic reaction. He gave advice to mix 1/2 teaspoon of salt with 1 cup of water and irrigate it out. (I used a medicine syringe.) I got all the cream out, and thankfully, I am not burning anymore. I am going to the doctor tomorrow still to make sure everything is okay down there."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Omg! I literally was in so much pain, burning and itching, that I had to call out of work. Two days later, the pain eased up a lot, but I still had slight irritation. Went to the gyno. She said I had an allergic reaction to the medicine. Now I'm on a 7-day pill to clear up everything. Terrible. If you have a yeast infection, just cure it with a pill or a couple of home remedies."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "This thing is burning me up! I thought I was having an allergic reaction. Third day and I am on fire! Worse than the yeast itself. Hope I don't have any issues after. Took a shower minutes after. Try something else. This is simply torture. Felt better knowing I was not alone, though."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Bought generic (Actavis) Monistat 7 to clear up a yeast infection, but if I'd known it would make things worse, I would never have tried it. It felt like the inside of my vagina and my entire vulva was on fire. I lasted 2 of the 7 days before I gave up on this. I had to visit my OBGYN for Diflucan and was also prescribed some intense antibiotics (Ampicillin 500 mg) and a regimen of anti-inflammatories (in addition to my own treatment of literally sitting on ice packs) to recover from the aftereffects of my allergic reaction (secondary infection, swelling, itching). I KNOW I used to be able to use both brand and generic Monistat without any adverse reactions when I was younger, so I wonder if they changed the formulation."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I just came home with a generic, 1-day treatment. I have used it before with no problem. My YI is/was not bad, it was almost gone from the apple cider vinegar method but still lingering, so I resorted to this... AND GOODNESS GRACIOUS, GREAT BALLS OF FIRE!!!! Ouch, ouch, ouch!!!!! I googled this because I thought I was having some sort of horrible allergic reaction, but WE ALL HAVE THE SAME SYMPTOMS! What the heck!? Then, I grabbed a glass of wine and have been laying down and not moving, and it feels more bearable... But I'm scared to move!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I’m 20 and had my first yeast infection (yay me), and my mother told me they had over-the-counter creams for it. We went to Walgreens and bought this. OH MY GOD. I was legitimately scared. I thought I was having an allergic reaction, my vagina was itching so bad. The last thing I’d want is to shove ointment in there and actually make the infection worse. But at least I know I’m not the only woman having this problem. Highly recommend trying anything else. ANYTHING else. I wish I did."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I cannot use the topical cream down there! It makes it itch and burn like crazy! I tried the 7-day before, and it was fine. Used it again, and the first application made me have such a bad reaction I was trying to make up a water douche to rinse it out and make the pain and itching stop. Then I tried the 3-day. Same thing. Then I tried the Monistat 1, and it was fine, but the cream that came with it is giving me that same reaction I had before."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "Well, it's now 3:30 a.m., inserted one pre-filled app at 12 a.m. hoping to get some relief, and I'm downstairs on the couch so I no longer disturb my dear husband. Funny thing is I tried to apply the topical that comes with it a couple of days ago. I'm no stranger to YI, especially while pregnant, so when I put that stuff on and my cooch went up in flames, I assumed something else was the problem and immediately washed it all off. I have NEVER had a reaction to any of the OTC options like that before. But 2 days later I'm still itchy, so I thought maybe it was just the external cream and I should try an insert because it's clearly a YI... And here I am. Suffering with the fire razor cooch. I decided to leave it in this time for more than a minute, and good news for me is that it is subsiding. If it works, I think it is worth it, but next time I'll have the doctor call in the RX brand. I've never had an issue with that one. Good luck, and may the odds be ever in your favor."
