Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I am not doing well. This is my second YI in my life, and both times now I have used Monistat 3. The first time I inserted the product lying down and later got up and used the bathroom, which was a terrible mistake. The liquid started falling out of me and burned so bad I thought my vagina was on fire. I took a shower and spent 20 minutes trying to get all of the product out. I lay down again, scrolled through reviews, and the burning stopped after an hour. Although I removed most of the product early, the next day my vagina felt almost good as new. Fast forward to now (about a year later), I decided to give this product another try and not make the mistake of getting up after inserting. Unfortunately, standing up isn’t the problem. I have been lying down, with the insides of my vagina burning and itching for the past hour. My cooch feels like a hot pepper has been shoved up it. I am having a very tough time. Although this product works, I would not recommend it to others."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I was getting to the point I couldn’t stand my vagina, so I forced my husband to fetch me the 3-day Monistat. I inserted the strange egg into my vagina and smeared the cream all over. About 5 minutes later, I was trying to make tacos, and a severe itch started, followed by an intense burn. I thought it was in my head, but it started increasing. My baby started crying during this climbing of the burn, and I literally thought I was about to go insane. My heart was racing, I was sweating profusely, and I couldn’t think straight. My husband asked if I was okay, and I had to literally abandon the tacos and baby to go into the bathroom and try and get this out. I guess it was the cream that caused this because getting most of it out, the pain actually went away... Here I am 3 hours later, and I actually feel great. My take is: it worked, but you gotta commit and crawl through the depths of hell to get to the other side."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "Everyone is saying that they are experiencing this side effect of itching and burning when it clearly says that it is part of the process! Make sure you all read the box. It says that this is something that occurs! Just take the full 3 days and you should be fine! It’s the medicine working."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "Ok, so I read these reviews and thought what a bunch of wimps. I used the first dose and had mild stinging for a few minutes. No biggie. Now it's the second day, and I used another dose. Oh sweet mercy. Liquid lava doesn't even begin to describe the pain. Monistat should be called Rot Your Crotch because I'm pretty sure mine melted like an ice cube in Texas in August. What sadistic person created this stuff? The pain. Then the nausea. To say it was bad was an understatement. Thank goodness there were no police around as I lay writhing in pain with my eyes crossed, jumping and twitching like frog legs in a frying pan. Dear ladies, I apologize, you are not wimps. I endured natural labor, but at least at the end of that pain, I had a beautiful baby girl. This was a close second and no baby at the end."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "First day was the same as all these reviews describe - HORRENDOUS and sinfully filled with fire in and around my vulva. We all scream together. Second day (today), there’s absolutely no pain/itchiness/soreness/side effects. I really do think that the initial pain is just the medicine WORKING and eating away at the fungus. The worse the spread, the more it hurts at first. Today I have nothing to complain about and I think we just need to stick it out for that first couple of hours of hellfire. It’s definitely working now, oof."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "Oh my goodness. I have used Monistat in the distant past. No problem. Took care of my YI. Found out on Friday the 13th I have another one. Doc was going to call in a script but didn’t. I figured I can take OTC Monistat. Welp. I figured wrong. Popped it in at bedtime. Two hours later, I wanted to call 911 to get the fire department to put the fire out in my vajayjay. I am now sitting on a bag of frozen peas after taking ibuprofen and making out my will."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "Wow. Hour one, I was feeling fine... decrease in YI symptoms. Happy. Hour two? Burning, blazing fire, an inferno. Where do the flames come from? I was wailing, spread bald eagle in front of my AC. I took painkillers. I gently laid some wet paper towels. Nothing. Finally fell asleep after two more hours and lots of pain. It is now day two, and I’m still irritated (not as bad, but worse than my YI). According to other reviews, it should calm down in uhhh about a day or two but I don’t know. Just go to the doctor. I’m begging you. Just go to the doctor. Your copay and medicine price mean nothing in the face of this California forest fire. 0/10. Save yourself."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "Placed the vaginal insert inside my lady bits, and then applied the external cream and waited. About 20 minutes later, the whole area started to feel warm and tingly, as if I had rubbed a vapor rub all over my honey pot. At first, I was nervous not knowing if this was normal or how intense this “heat” would get. After about 15 minutes, when it leveled out and stopped increasing in intensity, I actually didn’t mind it. It kind of felt interesting and not at all unpleasant. And the best thing is it actually worked and got rid of the infection."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I’m on night one and was preparing myself for the worst based on reviews (but I know that actually means it's working and would rather tough this out than have to go to the doctor and pay a copay and wait for an oral prescription to kick in). Definitely unpleasant and worse than the actual YI when it kicks in (first-timer here). But just shove an ice pack up there and spend time focusing on reading all these hilarious descriptions of others' experiences and know you are not alone in the struggle of being a woman with a YI."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "Okay, I had a mild YI and almost didn't take this stuff because of the horrifying reviews. So, for three weeks, I tried probiotics, apple cider vinegar, a yeast cleanse supplement, oregano oil, coconut oil, and eliminating all sugar (even fruit). I definitely recommend this method for weight loss, but the YI remained. While contemplating sticking a clove of garlic...up there...I realized I was being ridiculous, and it was time for modern medicine. Day 1: inserted the cream before bed and prayed that fire ants were not about to populate my nether region. I felt...a warm sensation?...for maybe ten minutes...then RELIEF! The next morning (upon standing up) resulted in a mass exodus of cottage cheese and medication from my nether region (sorry, if you're googling this, you've already seen worse), but zero discomfort. Day 2: same - no warm sensation - just relief. Less of a dramatic morning stand-up, but a smaller yeast evacuation. Day 3: no signs of YI. Day 4: no signs of YI - debating stopping the medication, but it is seven-day for a reason. Day 5: YI is a thing of the past. What's yeast? Day 6: taking the medication is now a superfluous yet instinctive part of my bedtime routine. Day 7: FINALLY."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "Do not use this product ever! I normally use Monistat 3, but vacation starts tomorrow, so I tried Monistat 1, thinking it would be better. My crotch is on fire! No amount of spread eagle with a cold wet cloth is making this go away! I would rather have a raging yeast infection than have injected this acid into my vagina."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "So yes, YIs SUCK! If you have to buy Monistat, you are already in a very uncomfortable place. I have used both Monistat and the generic brands, and both cause burning. It's unfortunately just a side effect of the medication working. For me, it's no worse than the itching of a YI. But if it's unbearable for you, call your doctor next time to get the pill instead. I don't like the pill because I always seem to get a YI when I'm out of town, or on a weekend/holiday (or both! Hello Labor Day weekend!)"

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I got this 7-day cream from Dollar General pretty cheap, around $7, and when I first put it in, it burned pretty bad, but I just sat on my phone or ran around to keep my mind off of it, and after an hour, it doesn’t burn as bad, and I already feel like my yeast infection is gone. It works super well. When you put alcohol on a cut, it burns, but that’s how you know it’s cleaning. You have to deal with the bad to get the good, but everyone's body is different."

Got worried at one point when, after about 3 hours, I noticed a lot of the egg had kind of melted out of me. But I woke up this morning and haven’t had any irritation or burning :)"

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "So I gave this a 10 because it definitely works, but if I had to rate the overall experience, I would give it a 2. Literally only keeping it above 0 because it is effective. The internal itching you get using this stuff is unbearable! The first night is always the absolute worst, and it gradually gets better every night after. After night 3, there usually isn’t much itching or burning. But my goodness, you would think there was a way to make this work without the discomfort or something they could provide you to ease the discomfort."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I am an RN. Like many women, we've all had a yeast infection a time or two. I would treat mine with OTC Monistat. Sometimes I would do the 1-dose treatment or the 3-dose treatment. I've NEVER had a problem with Monistat. I would treat myself and feel relief. Well, just this week, I noticed myself getting a yeast infection and went to purchase OTC Monistat. When I tell you that I felt like my lady parts were engulfed in flames and swollen, it was the worst pain EVER. Nothing I did gave me relief from this medication. I had to wait till it cleared itself from me. I would prefer to just have my mildly irritated vagina back than to EVER use this cream again. And according to the multiple reports on this site about this product, Monistat needs to reevaluate its formula."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "Stay away!! I used Monistat over a decade ago. Some reviews say that the burning is because it’s not a yeast infection. Untrue! This Monistat is a different formula, and whatever they put in it causes extreme burning! My labia minor and major burned in ways I cannot describe. The inflammation is not minimal! Please don’t purchase this product. On day 1, there was some mild discomfort and itching. Day 2 was by far the worst as the product began to slowly seep out, and I was up all night in pain and agony. Day 3, the “chunks” of the egg start to come out, and I finally felt relief. It is now Day 4, and there is some itching, but barely noticeable. Don’t use this product. Please! The FDA needs to investigate this."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "Honestly, I was reading the comments about this product while the egg was in, and I was so worried. It started burning after an hour, but it wasn’t bad burning like others have said, it was burning where it tingles and you can’t handle it, and then after an hour it went away. I went to sleep scared because I read comments of ladies waking up during their sleep crying, and I didn’t wake up until the next day. There was no itch, no nothing. I just went on with my day, and I feel fine. I think it just depends on your vagina. And sometimes ladies think they have a yeast infection and treat it with this product, but it may be something else, bacterial, and end up messing it up and it burns them since they’re using the wrong product, or some women may have sensitive skin."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I've had to use miconazole treatments a few times to treat yeast flare-ups. Usually, I choose the 3-day or the 7-day. The one warning I will give is do not wait to use this product. Start to use it at the first signs of a yeast infection because that will work best. I've made the mistake of starting it after 4-5 days of having irritation because I was trying to heal it naturally. Do not wait that long, ladies, because once you are that irritated down there, it will definitely cause an intense burn. Usually, only after the first insertion, because once the medicine activates, the remainder of the days are fine. Just wanted to clarify for mixed reviews!"

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "Now I know why my doctor advised me to use M7, not M3...! M7 is a lower strength than M3, which is 'regular strength.' The first applicator I used itched and burned like crazy within a few minutes. It was so unbearable I ended up using the bathroom to push it out and then took a shower to rinse it out. BUT...to my astonishment, the next day both itch and discharge diminished - not completely, but definitely and noticeably much less. That encouraged me to apply the second dosage. Except this time I took my sweet time pushing in the plunger. I pushed a little, then paused, and repeated until the entire dosage was applied. It took me a good 10 minutes total. There was a long continuous mild itching, which was irritating, but it did not burn. I took Benadryl to take the edge off and fall asleep. Fingers crossed..."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "Day 1 - I inserted Monistat lying down and put it on the vulva and labia, then went to get up to do my nighttime routine (BAD IDEA). The intense burning started immediately and lasted for about an hour. From a scale of 1 to 10, the pain was about an 8. I wanted to get better, so I sucked it up and just went to sleep. Day 2: The next day, I woke up with a swollen vagina. It hurt to pee and walk. I was uncomfortable the entire day and just wanted this to end. I made sure to do my night routine, insert the cream lying down, and go straight to sleep. Surprisingly, there was no burning sensation this night. It was easier. Day 3: It didn’t hurt to pee this time. There’s still minor swelling and redness, but not as bad as Day 2. I think it really is working, so I’m going to continue it. The foul smell is still there, but it’s probably because I still need to finish it. Ladies, I know it burns, and I know it freaking sucks!!! But, get through it, finish it, and get better."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "16 weeks pregnant here, and Monistat 7 is the safest while pregnant. I was advised not to take Diflucan. So, bought the 7-day one, and my god... this is what hell must feel like. It burned so bad that I had to fall asleep with an ice pack down there. It burned the first 3 nights, but every day I did notice the YI symptoms were subsiding. I inserted the 4th last night and didn't feel any discomfort. Must mean the infection is almost gone. I notice it burns more when the cream leaks out of you onto the vulva. Make sure you push it all the way up so it doesn't leak out as much. Since I have noticed results, I'll be finishing the 7 days. I'm also taking a probiotic along with it. Ice down there if you need to. It honestly makes a huge difference."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I have used Equate 7 Day before with success, did have some burning a bit when I inserted, but it was tolerable. I used Monistat 7 last night, and within two hours I was awake with unbelievable burning and itching. I couldn't sleep, it was so uncomfortable. The pain I felt was enough that I almost panicked. I wiped off as much as I could and used a cool rag to help. I finally got an ice pack and put that there for 20-minute increments. It was miserable. I was up for hours, then finally was able to sleep around 4 a.m. I feel swollen and irritated this morning, with some itching, but I walk like I've got on a full diaper. I'm seriously not sure what to do now... can't do another night like that."

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I told myself if this medicine ended up working, I would leave a positive review because at one point I was doubting it. I was on antibiotics, and a yeast infection quickly followed: white discharge with no odor, itching at the opening and inside me, and vaginal soreness. I felt like I got kicked between the legs! I dealt with it for a few days, taking AZO, before I turned to Monistat 1. Let me tell you, the first day and after, I did not think it was working and started to worry I had something worse. Day 3, the discharge was the absolute worst it's been, day 4 still wasn't cleared up. I washed with some coconut oil down there and let it sit before rinsing. Random and first time I tried it through this week, and then finally today, day 5, the infection appears to be gone, no discharge, not a single itch! I also got my period today, maybe that's why, or maybe the coconut oil helped. Either way, I think Monistat 1 works, just give it a good couple of days like it says. Best of luck!"

Miconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "Whoever thought you could just tell women to take this product, Monistat 7, before bed is a cold person. Did you really think anyone could sleep with the itchy and burning vagina? I am so annoyed, and my feelings are so hurt right now that you would allow any woman to endure this feeling for some dollars. Who approved this to be on the shelves at the store? I wouldn't wish this feeling on my worst enemy. My first and last time taking this product. This is day two, and it was worse than last night. I am a fool for going for it twice. When you guys put the side effects on the box, do not sugarcoat it - talking about minor itch or burning, etc. Let us know... side effects, my ass, it causes you to want to have your vagina removed. RIP to my vagina."
