For Urticaria "Hives and itchy skin and very bad hand itch that caused me to scratch. I used to get them every other day for 2-3 hours. I used to lock myself in the room and itch and itch and itch then. I was told about Xyzal by my father-in-law. Life is so good with Xyzal. I only wish this medicine were known to more people who suffer from itch and hives that make life so painful. But when medicine like Xyzal is created, it's very good medicine that can cure allergies or itchy skin. I just take one tablet every 2 days and sleep like a baby and feel the best next morning."

For Allergies "Absolutely horrible, unless you like feeling dopey, drugged, and hungover for three days after a single dose! It did help my allergies, but the side effects are much too pronounced and severe to warrant ever taking it again. I'd rather suffer!"

For Urticaria "I developed hives after gallbladder surgery. Benadryl worked on the surface for about 8 months. Then I went to an allergist, and she had me stop all meds for allergies. That night I thought I was going to die. Lips were swollen, eyes were, and I didn't sleep. The next morning, I was back at the doctor and was nebulized in the office for 4 hours. She prescribed Xyzal 10 mg at night, and Singulair in the morning as needed. Worked wonderfully. I can play around with dosage, taking it at night. I can go 1 night without it, and I have to take it the next night. 72 hours without a dosage and I will have a breakout start. Told the doctor that I will take this the rest of my life, and I don't mind."

For Urticaria "I suffered for a year with urticaria. I tried steroids and several other allergy medications. To no avail. Finally, after seeing many doctors, one gave me Xyzal to try. The first day I took it, I had almost immediate relief. My hives, swelling of joints, and what I called 'attacks' (could not stop sneezing, feeling my throat close, and face start to swell up) all but disappeared. I have been taking Xyzal daily for almost 2 years and have experienced no side effects whatsoever. It gave me my life back."

For Allergic Rhinitis "This medication did not seem to work any better than others I have taken, but it has made me extremely drowsy. I was not feeling well when I started taking it, so it took me a full week to figure out that Xyzal was making me so tired. I do not recommend this drug if you are susceptible to drowsiness side effects. Since it is sold in a 24-hour pill, I'm stuck being sleepy for a long time until this pill is out of my system."

For Allergies "My allergies are the worst in the morning, and this medication directs it to be taken at night. I've tried that several times, and it is no help whatsoever. Just before writing this, I had to take Benadryl even though I took this medication last night. Very disappointed in this product! The couple of times my allergies kicked up at night and I took it, this product did not help at all. That said, everyone is different, and I guess if you want to try it and see if it works for you, go ahead. But if your allergies are bad in the morning, it will not help at all."

For Allergies "Not only do I have allergies, but I also have asthma and chronic sinusitis, along with occasional nasal polyps. In addition, I have had a chronic cough for three years, which doctors could not, or would not, help me with. They had no answers. I took XYZAL, and lo and behold, the chronic cough has been drastically reduced! I hope it lasts; I've become reluctant to go shopping or even to church because of the persistent cough. I know it's not for a cough, but it has certainly helped mine! This remedy is now OTC, so I won't have to plead my case to the doctor."

For Allergies "Xyzal has helped keep the chronic sinus infections away while on a biologic for an autoimmune disorder! That's a miracle! I love Xyzal. Some days I get sleepy, so I take it at night. Now, if I can just get the autoimmune symptoms to go away, I'd be kicking booty! Love Xyzal for allergies!"

For Urticaria "I have had severe chronic hives for a little over a year. So many allergists/immunologists gave me everything, including Xyzal (but once a day combined with other medicines) did very little to help. A dermatologist said to stop all other and take Xyzal in the morning and night, and now my hives are 95% cleared. I'm at a point where I feel the hives are manageable and I can work without the heavy antihistamines that make me so groggy."

For Allergies "My boyfriend bought this for his seasonal allergies, and it worked great, and he slept great. I suffer from several chronic pain conditions and decided to try this for sleep (which is hard to come by when you're in pain... painsomnia). I slept the best I had in months. I woke up feeling refreshed, with no drowsiness. I've used other allergy meds in the past to help with sleep, but they don't always work, and when they do, I wake up drowsy. I'd love to buy a case of this, because each time I've taken it, I slept great. I'm glad he found this product."

For Allergies "I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy. Kept me up, maniacally freaking out, until 4 a.m. Followed by extreme nightmares and tossing and turning. My head felt like it was going to explode. I literally almost went to the hospital. Terrifying."

For Allergies "My seasonal allergies just started this week due to high pollen count. I was very hopeful for the 24 hr relief promised by Xyzal, especially because it is taken in the evening. I thought the main 'drowsy' effect would be limited to the nighttime. I was wrong! I woke up feeling terrible, could barely wake up, and had to drag through a fog all day at work. Not for me, unfortunately! I guess back to non-drowsy Claritin."

For Allergic Rhinitis "Really developed horrible allergies in the last four years because of being over 40, living in a terrible city for allergies. It really has been a game changer for me. It's strong enough that I often just use half a pill. I do think it's better than the OTC competition. No side effects for me."

For Allergies "I have a cat and a dog in the house, so my nose runs all year long. I had taken Benadryl daily until the doctor told me to take it twice a day because my body had gotten too used to it. I then tried Claritin and Allegra, neither worked for me at all. I then switched to Zyrtec, and that was pretty great. I still had a runny nose, but not as bad. When Xyzal came out, I had to try it since I had a crack in my nose for about 6 months from a runny nose. Within 1 week of taking Xyzal, the crack had healed, and my nose wasn't runny. This is a miracle drug for me. I believe that each body is different, and you need to take the drug that works for you. I take this during the day, as it wore off when I came home from work to be with my animals."

For Allergies "I wanted to share my experience with taking this medication. I started taking this medicine and felt a little better with the allergies, however, I noticed my mood had changed. I started feeling very depressed about a week into the medicine, and that is NOT like me at all. I am usually someone who wakes up with a burst of energy and always in a good mood. My allergy symptoms were improving a little bit, but now I am in a state of depression. I was having mood swings and mentally breaking down, crying for reasons that I usually wouldn't cry about. I talked with my doctor, and we agreed that the medicine was making me feel this way. Today is day 4 without taking the medicine, and I am back to my normal bubbly self. No more Xyzal for me."

For Allergies "Tried Xyzal for the first time last week. I noticed I was a little groggy, which I've come to expect from most antihistamines. After taking it for 4 days, I have become an absolute mess. Very irritable, moody, crying, and angry. Just generally feel like I'm losing my mind. My 5-year-old daughter had the same reaction. And it didn't even help with the sneezing, runny nose, or watery eyes. In fact, it's given me a headache on top of making me feel insane along with all the allergy symptoms. Back to Claritin for us."

For Allergies "Shortly after taking Xyzal because I wanted to try a different allergy pill than Zyrtec. My throat, nose, and eyes began to itch and burn really badly, and I think it's because of the lactose monohydrate ingredient, but it's not for me at all!"

For Allergies "The reviews are true!!! I normally take 12-hour Allegra-D (as needed). When I took this, I immediately felt worse, my nose wouldn't stop running, I got very hot (red), and I was coughing almost like it made it worse. I felt it kick in and got extremely heavy. My nose felt like I was at the bottom of a pool, swollen, my eyes were puffy, my vision was impaired, I had horrible nightmares, and I barely woke up when my alarm went off. I felt worse than when I went to bed!!! Fatigued all day, bloated, headaches, swollen nose, and massive sinus pressure when I looked down at work. It felt like my senses were numb and I wasn't human. Everything everyone listed negative is true. I will NEVER take it again, and I'm shocked it's still available OTC. Do NOT waste your money, it's total fraud."

For Allergies "I started taking Xyzal after a single episode of urticaria. I have had hand tremors for 40 years, severe enough to interfere with my work as a nurse. After 2 days, I noticed that the tremors were gone. To verify it was linked to the medication, I stopped taking it, and after 2 days, my left hand started shaking again, so I restarted it. It's been 3 weeks, and I am still free of any tremors."

For Allergies "I'm allergic to things that are both inside and outside on this planet. As far as I know, the only habitable planet that I have no choice but to stay on. My doc recommended Xyzal, I bought it the same day, then read the reviews. I wouldn't take it for 3 weeks after. Out of desperation and suffering, I started 5 days ago. I've slept for approximately 18 hours each day. (I work 12-hour days, so you can assume that I slept quite a bit at work.) When my alarm goes off, I start saying, 'You can do this! Get up, Shelby! Omg, why? Help!' After I wake, I wander around muttering, 'Why am I so tired? Something is wrong, I must be dying.' Not only am I sedated at all times, sleeping on floors and in my car, but I took my children to the park today and fell asleep on the picnic blanket for 2 hours. They could have been kidnapped."

For Allergies "I have had sinus issues for the last 40 years. Tried this drug - took 1/2 a pill at bedtime as suggested. Did not make me sleepy at all. In the morning, I got up and was in a puddle of sweat. Thought the hot flashes were just worse. Also, my stomach hurt somewhat. After some time, stopped taking them - the sweating stopped. My stomach is now fine. Too bad - it really took care of my allergies."

For Allergies "I took one pill at night. I slept all night and all the next day. Do not recommend. I slept all day, so don't even know if it worked for allergies. Nowhere on the package did I see a warning about sleep problems and no additional instructions in the box. Stuck with an expensive product that I cannot use. In my mind, drowsiness is not the same as being sound asleep for over 24 hours."

For Allergies "I was desperate for something to alleviate coughing, which was severe to the point that I had trouble breathing and terrible accompanying chest pain. I purchased Xyzal OTC and used just one dose last night, no other meds were taken with it. It has helped substantially with the coughing, although I haven't slept at all!!!"

For Allergic Rhinitis "I'm 90% allergic to dogs and 95% allergic to cats. Guess what? I have a cat and a dog... the dog sheds more than the cat, but if the cat scratches me, I break out into hives/welts. If a dog hair gets on my face, especially around my eyes... I get symptoms of pink eye. My eyes get red, itchy, and swollen. That being said, nothing but Xyzal has worked for me. I take this at night about 1 hour before bedtime."

For Allergic Rhinitis "I had been on Allegra for allergies for almost 10 years. This year, it stopped working and began to make my heart race. I also developed new allergies (to foods). My general practitioner mentioned Xyzal to me, gave me some samples, and instructed me to start out with the pediatric dose of 2.5 mg to see how I reacted to the medicine and how effective it was for me. All I can say is, it's AWESOME! It is fast-acting, stopping the itchy nose, throat, ears, and non-stop sneezing soon after taking it. No crazy heart rhythms, hungover feelings, or depression with this antihistamine. It's a keeper!"
