Inclisiran for High Cholesterol, Familial Heterozygous "This is in regards to side effects of Leqvio. Had the first injection about five days ago. No pain or redness at the injection site. A bit of soreness at the injection site for about 24 hours. A lethargic feeling off and on since the injection. A small amount of muscle or joint pain in the first 72 hours after the injection. No diarrhea as yet. Slightly loose BMs. No fever. Have experienced periods of being 'light-headed', i.e. feeling faint. Have not communicated this to my physician yet. Will do so later this week. I am hopeful this injectable medication will lower my LDL and thus, my total cholesterol number."

Inclisiran for High Cholesterol, Familial Heterozygous "First of all, I see a functional dietitian. Following a strict diet, regular exercise, and taking magnesium, vitamin D, vitamin K, I was able to drop 20 lbs in a year. My starting cholesterol was 315 and with a low-fat, no seed oil, higher protein diet, I was able to get my cholesterol down to 235. My LDL-C was 170. CA score of 165. So here I am, I had my first shot of Leqvio. Side effects are exhaustion, headaches, and foot and hand cramps. Extra water and magnesium seem to help."

Inclisiran for High Cholesterol, Familial Heterozygous "I am a medical professional. I am 78 y/o. Past history of CABG X3 at age 40 in 1987, total cholesterol of 385 and high LDL and low HDL. All numbers are now substantially lowered. Chol now 165. LDL-C is 76, was 165. I haven't noticed any new problems as far as side effects after my first two injections. I have a previous history that includes sciatic distribution pain and discomfort due to mild scoliosis, cervical and lumbar spinal stenosis, and disc problems. Chronic pain controlled presently with Naprosyn and Tylenol ES. Have had no injection site problems or any other obvious new onset problems. I am 78 years old and pretty active. As with every statin I've ever taken, I always wonder whether I am having age-related loss of libido and ED vs. side effects due to medication. I cannot differentiate any new musculoskeletal pain or discomfort with current pain present long before the first Leqvio injection. I have had the first two prelim shots with the next one due in 6 months."

For High Cholesterol, Familial Heterozygous "After a >99% occlusion of my LAD was detected, I had a stent implanted at 43 years old. Untreated, my total cholesterol was at 360 mg/dl, with LDL 260. Atorvastatin plus Ezetimibe did not lower the numbers sufficiently. Inclisiran was prescribed by my cardiologist in 2021, and 2 weeks after the first injection, my numbers are amazing. LDL has been below 55 mg/dl ever since. No side effects except for the rather painful injection. Amazing. Will undergo coronary radiography in 2024 to assess whether the good numbers translate into disease regression. (I'm from Germany, where Inclisiran was approved in 2020.)"

"I was okay for the first month of the vaccine, and now fatigue, cramp, and UTI. I could not tolerate any of the statins, even in small doses, but while my good cholesterol was good, my LDL was bad! While I have had migraines in the past and cramps in my leg, it seems worse. So I am unsure if the side effect of fatigue is old age, as I have never been old before, lol. I am a 78-year-old woman who is fit and well, apart from this problem with familial cholesterol. The main pain is the price, $1,449!"

For High Cholesterol, Familial Heterozygous "I've had 3 injections, last one early December. Straight away, it floored me: headache, blurred vision, feeling weak all the time, muscle and joint pain, can't walk far, so much pain in hips, shivers, like I had influenza all the time. Quality of life-I was an energetic person. I had this injection. On a positive side, reduced cholesterol level in half. I'm due for another injection in June 24, not having it. My life has changed so much. I'll take my chances in exchange for the quality of life to return to what it was!"

Inclisiran for High Cholesterol "In 2022, I got my first Leqvio injection in the doctor's office. I loved the results, my HDL cholesterol went to normal for a long period of time. This is the only medicine my body tolerated without any secondary effects. I beg my doctors to please get me back on, they prescribe, but insurance declined, subject to a letter of necessity, but that fails to fulfill the purpose. The doctor's office claims they did submit insurance claims, they never got it. I still need this injection. I have conventional Medicare Part B and D."

For High Cholesterol "About to have my third injection. First two did not lower my cholesterol levels very much but told it can take up to a year to respond. Side effects: irritable cough, but this could be from other medicines too (ACE inhibitors). Feeling very lethargic. I have also put on weight. My weight has previously remained stable for years. Has anyone else been troubled by weight gain? Will continue and review after third dose."

Inclisiran for High Cholesterol, Familial Heterozygous "I could not take statins without side effects. Sore muscles, aching joints. I was crying at night, could not sleep. After using Leqvio for 2 doses, I don't even need to take any statins. I also changed the way I eat."

Inclisiran for High Cholesterol "Hives and hand numbness approximately 2.5 weeks after the second shot -- in the arm that received the shot. Severe body aches gradually faded after the first shot in about 4 to 5 weeks. I am not far enough along from the second shot to know if/when the body aches will fade."

For High Cholesterol, Familial Heterozygous "First dose in January. Injection site was painful for a good two weeks. Glad it was in my thigh. Two weeks post shot, I have been having trouble sleeping. I feel as though I've drank ten cups of coffee and am jittery. I actually quit drinking my one cup of coffee in hopes that it would solve the problem, but it did not. I guess I am not sure if it is the shot or something else."

Inclisiran for High Cholesterol "My experience with Leqvio has been very good. My cholesterol went from 140 LDL to 50 LDL after the second shot. The shot was relatively painless, less than the flu shot. No side effects. I am a 61-year-old man who feels relieved not to have to take a statin every day."

Inclisiran for High Cholesterol "The Leqvio injection was a brief stop at the cardiologist's office. Typical, brief shot in the back of the arm. Easy. They held me there for ~15 minutes to ensure no injection symptoms. The nurse administering the injection did it very well. No pain or discomfort. I don't have serum numbers yet so I am unable to speak to the effectiveness, but I wish all my meds could be this easy."

Inclisiran for High Cholesterol "I was unable to use statins because of serious, severe side effects. I have had 2 injections so far and have had zero side effects. Leqvio has lowered my cholesterol levels to normal with the 2 injections! I will be continuing with these injections as prescribed. Very happy with the results. I am 70 and a female."

"I am about to receive my 3rd injection. After the first injection, cholesterol went down, but triglycerides went up. Upon questioning my cardiologist, I was told that happens occasionally, but it should level out by the next injection. I had to go for a new lipid panel which showed my cholesterol was up again, but not as high, and triglycerides were down somewhat. Is this like a rebound effect? I don't know. The only side effect I had was a burning sensation as the medication was going in, and some minor aching at the site of the injection. I felt fine within 20 minutes."

Inclisiran "Has lower overall count to < 110 and ratio is in range first time in life, received my 7th injection on November 24, but 3 days later dry skin patches popping out on my nose and around my mouth, on the sides of my head, back, and legs. Firmly believe Leqvio is the reason. Believe cholesterol is too low in my body and is having a negative impact on my immune system."

Inclisiran for High Cholesterol "Started first injection 2 weeks ago. A week later, very loose bowels for three days. I don't have any muscle and joint pain like the statin drugs caused. But I am very fatigued during the day, my legs are weak. Even after sleeping 8 hours. But if it lowers my LDL and I don't have to have bypass surgery again, I can live with it. I plan on starting strength training with weights to see if I can counteract the fatigue, plus B12 supplement."

Inclisiran for High Cholesterol, Familial Heterozygous "The side effects listed are about right. Had some periods of dizziness too. I have had bouts of big-time fatigue, and I think that is a result of the Leqvio. The side effects are aggravating, but in general, are worth it for the results."

Inclisiran for High Cholesterol "I am 76 years old and female and eat a heart-healthy diet. I am scheduled for a 3rd injection in March. To begin with, my cholesterol levels were not much over the suggested limits, but since I have hereditary high blood pressure and a family history of heart attacks, Leqvio was prescribed. I didn't want to take another prescription pill since I was already taking 5 (3 for high blood pressure, 1 for thyroid, and 1 for acid reflux). I preferred an injection 2 times a year. It is given in the fat of the arm, not the muscle, so uncomfortable side effects were minimal and brief. The only other possible side effect was cramping from my calf to my foot, mostly at night. This subsided after about a month. My bad cholesterol dropped significantly, and my good cholesterol remained very good. Although it does mean another trip to the doctor's office for the nurse to give the injection, it is very quick."

Inclisiran for High Cholesterol "Nothing seemed to work to lower my cholesterol to acceptable levels, but using Leqvio along with a statin and ezetimibe brought my total cholesterol to 126. I have had no side effects from Leqvio. My only criticism is the cost."

For High Cholesterol, Familial Heterozygous "I was told it had not thrown up any side effects, but in actual fact, there are many documented. I've had a lot of musculoskeletal problems, aches, pain, unable to function well in the day, confusion, sleeping like a log, can't get up in the morning. I'm going to have one more injection. If the same happens again, I'm stopping it."

Inclisiran for High Cholesterol, Familial Heterozygous "I've just had my second injection. Cholesterol dropped, so that's a positive. I still have an injection site rash, possibly due to this last injection being very uncomfortable, unlike the first one. My IBS has been really bad this time too, but not sure if connected. Jury's still out as to whether I would have a 3rd."
