"In reference to Painwithoutend's review, I could not agree with you more. I don't know what is going on, but all the hydrocodone, no matter the brand, is absolute trash. It does nothing for pain and gives you this weird sickish feeling, terrible heartburn, and worst of all, ringing in the ears plus sensitivity to a certain level of audio decibels. Not even loudness, normal noises, like a dog barking. With every bark, my ears pulsate and rumble to the noise. I believe all this junk is not being quality tested, apparently, they can do whatever the heck they want because obviously, our FDA doesn't give a you know what. The manufacturers know they'll never be caught. We literally have the densest government operations on the planet. Most inspection audits do NOT announce when they're coming or give you a three-week notice to get everything up to snuff before they come! WHO does that? They should be dropping in unannounced if they cared about the U.S. citizens that rely on this medication to somewhat function!"

Hydrocodone "Been on Hysingla for 6 months now; this is my 3rd posting about the experience. I'm using 40 mg ER and have given up. Just too darn tired all the time and 12/24 hours still in back pain, so what the hell, I'm gonna ask the Dr to put me back on 10/325 Percs 4 times daily."

Hydrocodone "My doctor just switched me from 30 mg of MS Contin to Hysingla 20 mg once a day. Mind you, I have been taking the same thing for over 4 years. This Hysingla is a joke! After 3 hours, I was in so much pain I thought I was dying! Felt like I was going to be sick, and not from the medicine, it was because I was in so much pain. Whoever said this lasts for 24 hours is completely ridiculous. Worst ever!"

Hydrocodone "Everyone complaining about headaches and worse pain need to toughen up and wait two weeks before giving up on Hysingla. The headaches and increased pain I think are from Norco 'withdrawal.' Your brain just needs a week to adapt to the new dosing. Those complaining about it taking a long time to start working or not being consistent are, of course, correct. No XR meds are perfect, but they prevent turmoil caused by peaks and valleys of IR meds...and that is worth it long-term. Give Hysingla a chance. The worst thing about my experience is that during titration, the doctors are following guidelines to 'round down' from their Norco dose. That's backwards, the dose should be higher with any XR."

Hydrocodone "My doctor prescribed 10 mg once or twice a day to address some nasty sciatic pain. Maybe the dosage is low, but it really had no discernible effect on the pain after several days' usage. I don't want another expensive shot to deal with it either. I have had two, and they only provided about one week of relief while costing me plenty, even with insurance."

Hydrocodone "I'm currently on oxycodone 5 mg 3 times a day. I talked with my Dr about the extended-release option, and he prescribed Hysingla 20 mg for 24 hours. I had high hopes for this because I was hoping for continued pain relief. When my insurance finally approved me for this medication, I was happy, that was until I took my first few day's doses. It was just too strong, and I felt nauseous and sick the whole time I was on this medication. I was going to see my Dr the next month to get back my regular prescription. Hopefully, something will come on the market that works for 24 hours without making me sick."

Hydrocodone "Hysingla really keeps the pain level from my fibromyalgia in check. I no longer feel I am on a pain scale roller coaster. I stay around a 3-4 most days. Others sometimes a 6, but no longer am I at an 8-20 on the pain scale. I also love that I don't feel dopey or tired from the Hysingla version like with Norco."

Hydrocodone "I haven't taken this Rx for long, but it definitely is *not* the best option if you have no breakthrough meds. I'm on 30 mg, which is to last 24 hours. I'd say it does for 18. It's not horrible, but I do think people will keep complaining until they are on a higher dose. The oral bioavailability of this drug is actually lower than Norco. I take Norco 10/325 tid, and combined with the Hysingla, it's not the worst... but I feel little relief during the day. It does, however, help me a bit at night. I think docs need to give higher doses than what they are of this med because it's a 24-hour med... 30 mg in 24 hours is not a lot. Well, at least I have my Norco 10/325 to help. Also, I think this med would work better if taken twice daily! But not the worst med!"

Hydrocodone "Due to the new laws passed that are taking effect in 2017, your doctor can no longer prescribe the massive amounts of opiates they had been for years. In my state now, the first time for pain management (like having surgery, for example) is 3 days maximum. After that, 7 days maximum can only be prescribed except in some listed situations, such as end-stage cancer patients. They must change from the short-acting narcotics to the 24-hour release, which is meant to stop addiction because you don't get the high rush from the extended release. I suggest you all research your own state's new prescribing laws and contact your representative. You will soon all need to deal with this. Most, like me, with zero notice. The drug works okay, with zero 'high.'"

Hydrocodone "I've been taking 4 hydrocodone 10-325 for years and still hurt no matter what, have to count pills so can't take 5 or 6 a day. Now they put me on Hysingla ER 30 mg. 1 pill a day but still hurt 24-7 and can't get any more help."

Hydrocodone "I suffer from chronic TMJ. I can't eat apples, steak, most foods that require you to open your mouth, or my jaw will emit a loud bone-breaking-sounding CRACK, followed by waves of intense pain WAY beyond the acceptable threshold. I'm only 33. An MRI, CT scan, several X-rays, and worthless visits to 'specialists' did nothing but empty my bank account and receive the news that I have 'two displaced discs in my face, and there's nothing we can do.' I was about to give up, then said heck with it and sought out a pain specialist. She witnessed the horrific noise, saw the X-rays and surgeon notes, and immediately put me on Zohydro 20 mg (twice a day), and thinking my woes were addressed, then they reformulated it and it's like taking Aleve."

Hydrocodone "My doctor put me on Hysingla ER 20 mg a few weeks ago. Hysingla is causing major problems for me at night. I am waking up 3-4 times every night due to pain and sleepwalking. I believe I need an increase in the dosage or to be put back on my original treatment of Percocet 7.5 mg QID (4 times a day). I am scared that I might walk out of the house and into the road because of this medication. In the few weeks of being on this medication, I have left the house twice within three weeks. The last time this happened was nearly 4 years ago."

"Pain management gave me hydrocodone 7.5 mg 3x a day. The first day of taking them, I took 2 together before bed, I felt a little something, but not much. The second day forward, I took them spread apart like prescribed, and it did absolutely nothing. I believe I've had better luck with taking two 500 mg acetaminophen than this BS Norco has done so far. This is an absolute BS medicine that does nothing to help my pain. I can't wait to go back to hopefully get my meds changed to something that will actually help my pain."

Hydrocodone "Pain dr gave this to my son that lives in chronic severe pain for a year, then his insurance changed, and he couldn't afford $600 a month. He always told me, Dad, this stuff doesn't help with pain at all, and when he gradually ran out, he did not have any withdrawals from not having it! If it had worked, he certainly would be missing it!"

"Today I went to five different pharmacies seeking a better/stronger pill than the current one I received from Walmart, the T Dash 259 made by Camber. Of course, I was not well received and had to explain a lot, my medical condition, why I take it, how long I’ve been taking it, etc. etc. I did find one pharmacy that I was referred to by another that still carried the yellow V Dash 3601 Norco. Of course, the pharmacist stated she would not fill it due to the quantity, which I receive, 190 pills a month. There is no more compassion. Two of the places I went to would only fill prescriptions that are written by their doctors. One of the pharmacies is the same medical center I’ve used for the last 25 years, but I do not see their pain management doctor because he does not believe in giving out pain medicine. Therefore, they refused to fill it. The pharmacist explained that she would be red-flagged if she were to issue me 190 pills a month. So the FDA has put the fear of God into pharmacy."

Hydrocodone "Hysingla ER is just another lie! This medicine takes forever to work. Way overpriced! And Hysingla messes with your intestines, causing your bowel movement to become almost like clay. The maker will never tell the full adverse effects to your body."

Hydrocodone "I have been taking Hysingla 20 mg for a month. I was taking Norco 5-325 up to 4 a day for chronic back pain post-6 surgeries. I was switched to Hysingla due to elevated liver enzymes from Tylenol. I have bile duct structure and do what I can to keep liver enzymes lower. I only took what I absolutely had to daily of Norco, averaging 2 Norco a day. Since I have started the Hysingla, I have had a moderately severe headache and nausea every day. I'm not sure which is worse, the liver pain or headache. The nausea I tolerate. I have decided to stop taking the Hysingla and go back to the Norco. I would rather take as little as possible of medication and still be in pain than have an increase in pain and be flat on my back for 6 hours with a headache."

Hydrocodone "After many years of feeling drugged and still in pain, Zohydro ER has saved my life. I spent 11 hours on the operating table. I was in pain 24/7 even with other pain meds or I felt drugged. With Zohydro, you don’t know that you have a drug in your system. Just no pain! Now I’ve come to understand that the company just recently took them off the market. Why?"

Hydrocodone "I am a 70-year-old female diagnosed with a condition, a vascular neurosis. Due to the opioid crisis, I was told I could no longer use Norco. I was looking for a medication to help with narcotic Norco withdrawal, as I knew this would be an issue. I was prescribed Hysingla, 80 mg. After starting to experience breathing issues along with all the other side effects, I have decided to get off of Hysingla. I am under doctor guidance and tapering slowly. BTW, Hysingla NEVER HELPED WITH PAIN... but it did slightly help with withdrawals. Also, I never had any lung disorders... and now I do! I am seeing a pulmonologist and he said Hysingla was the worst drug ever. I also talked with my other doctors, and they said it was very “wicked.” (This includes both a hematologist and oncologist.) In their opinion, it should be taken off the market. I believe my primary doctor was trying to help me because of the opioid crisis. I implore anyone who decides to use Hysingla to do the research."

Hydrocodone "I have been taking hydrocodone for over 18 years due to a lower back injury (bulging lower disc), wear & tear from 25 years of factory work & fibromyalgia (associated with those 25 years). I'm 62, retired, & still very physically active. After 2 hours of medium heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling, I feel like a truck has run me over... head to toe. I have taken many pain medications... OxyContin, Vicodin, morphine, tramadol (poison!), Lyrica (poison!), etc. After many years, what finally worked best was 6 7.5/200 Vicoprofen a day + a fentanyl 25 mcg patch every 3 days. After 2 years, my doctor switched me to Zohydro. I said sure. After just ONE DAY, I'm feeling GREAT! I take two 30 mg Zohydros a day + Vicoprofen for breakthrough. I have only taken three 7.5 pills today! WORKS."

Hydrocodone "I am a paraplegic after a spinal cord injury when I had a wreck in 2001. For the first few years, the pain was there, but I could manage. Then it became so bad that I would lie in bed crying, unable to sleep or do anything. It ruled my life. After trying nearly every pain med out there, I finally found Zohydro by researching hydrocodone without acetaminophen. It has worked wonders, and I’m not constantly worried about withdrawals. My insurance just changed and won’t cover it now, and I can’t pay for it. Really wish they would come out with a generic!"

"Hydrocodone: useless as all get out for pain; I find it absolutely insane and hilarious how this is the most commonly abused opioid in the United States of America. I mean, I cannot wrap my mind around how this is as worth it for pain compared to placebos. I am like, how in the dang world is hydrocodone abused."

Hydrocodone "No help at all. No relief. Became very depressed. My muscles hurt badly. I was switched from 7.5 hydrocodone, which, by the way, took the edge off the pain, to Hysingla 30 mg. I noticed right away that there was a lot of breakthrough pain."

Hydrocodone "Just started Hysingla ER 30 mg but with Norco 10/325. The pain doctor and I have been trying several IR and ER pain relief medicines. I have chronic pain after back surgery L5-L3, plus fibromyalgia and arthritis. So I hurt from head to toe, literally. I won't give up Norco until I know new meds work. That's our agreement. I have had only 3 days on Hysingla. I tried mornings, but it kept me up that night, so I switched to 9 pm. I think it peaks about 10-12 hours in. I sleep okay. I need to be able to move normally again during the day! I really can't tell I'm taking it, as I'm still taking Norco every 4 hours. They're not great either, but at least it works somewhat on back pain. I noticed on the 2nd day I'm starting to itch. If it doesn't let up, I'll have to call the doctor's office for something else. I hope not, I'd like to give a full month trial. Maybe it is too low a dose for me."

"I’ve been on hydrocodone 10/325 for over 20 years for scoliosis. The name brand worked very well but then became obsolete, in my area anyway. I then got generic brands which always worked just as well up until 2020. I started taking notes of the manufacturers of the generics and found that the one made by Lupin didn’t work nearly as well but had no side effects. The one made by Malenkroft worked better with no side effects, and the one made by Tris Pharmaceuticals doesn’t work at all and gives me splitting migraines. The quality of generics is not as good as they once were."
