Hydrocodone "I have just started this yesterday. I was in a hit-and-run accident that changed my life. It took over 2 years alone to finally walk as little as 25 ft with devices. I did every kind of therapy, pain medicines, patches, injections, etc. I would get some relief, but side effects prevent any return to normal routines or withstanding activities with family. My pain has truly limited my social and family life. Norco never lasts long enough, and the GI upset was bad enough to warrant the need for continuously trying to tweak the regimen. Having had a career and college degrees, I have resigned to give in to the constraints of chronic pain. I have only taken 2 pills so far, but it seems to be helping better, with fewer doses. I will post again in 1 week."

Hydrocodone "First of all, I’ve been on many different pain medications for several years, and I’ll have to say this is the worst drug ever made! Purdue should be legally bound for charging over $500 for 30 pills, no matter the strength, and for my situation, I’m taking the 40 mg pill that Purdue claims works a whopping 24 hours! First of all, what I have noticed is that it takes 8 hours upon dosing just to start anything, so let’s subtract 24-8, and that leaves 16 hrs. Now, if I told you that this miracle and very expensive drug lasted for 16 hrs, well, I would be telling you it is incorrect, so in all practicality, it should be scheduled for every 12 hours instead, twice daily. Don’t waste your time or money on this pathetic pill!"

Hydrocodone "Does absolutely nothing. I take the 20 mg dose along with 4 Aleve a day and 4-6 Tylenol. The Hysingla ER did nothing to help. All it does is make me very sleepy 4-5 hours after I take it through the rest of the day. I mean, so sleepy I wouldn't want to try to drive a car."

Hydrocodone "Very positive experience for me. Sick of taking hydrocodone all day and night for chronic pain. Still taking hydrocodone for breakthrough pain once most days, twice others, but that is a big decrease for me. I am not nearly as sluggish and feel generally better."

Hydrocodone "It takes about 2 hours to start working, so it's definitely a long-acting medication. It says it lasts for 12 hours, but it only lasts 7 for me, every time, without fail. I cannot just take the Zohydro ER, but I need to take my rescue medication, or else be miserable for 2 hours before it works. It gives you constipation sometimes, even if you drink a ton of water. It seems to be weak pain relief. I wish it could work better and last longer. My doctor is switching me to a different ER pain medication now."

Hydrocodone "I am a chronic pain sufferer and am allergic to most pain medications. Zohydro 40 mg ER works wonders for me. I take it twice per day, with one 10 mg hydrocodone for breakthrough pain relief. My situation is so serious that at times, I've wanted to die. The pain is just that bad, but now I'm getting relief, it sort of levels it off, and my ability to function without the constant thought of hurting is greater. It's an absolute pain reliever."

Hydrocodone "Biggest waste of money. Don't believe all the lies put out by drug co. Very unpredictable in its delivery. Pain comes in spurts for me, so something that won't do me any good for 5 hours is practically worthless to me. If I have to suffer that long for relief, then I might as well not take anything. I understand that it's not designed for breakthrough pain, but still need more predictability in a pill's delivery to judge how to take it. I have very bad stomach issues as well."

"I've got 5 bulging discs and hydrocodone 10-325 three times a day, and I'm pain-free unless I overdo it. No other medication has given me the relief. It's cruel punishment for the government not to allow patients access to this medication!"

Hydrocodone "This drug didn't work as well as short-acting hydrocodone in lower doses. I had to take up to 20 mg of Tramadol per day for breakthrough pain on top of the 30 mg of Hysingla. It put me to sleep, made me unable to think clearly or efficiently, and didn't allow me to organize my day or complete my tasks as well as I previously had. I had to take it around 6 PM to avoid breathing issues when I lay down, and as a result, by the time I got up in the morning, I no longer received any pain relief from it - there is no way it works for 24 hours. I'm now in the process of returning to Norco, and while still taking hydrocodone, I am experiencing withdrawal symptoms from getting off the Hysingla. It is far more dangerous and addictive than it is promoted."

Hydrocodone "I started taking 30 mg Hysingla ER about 6 months ago for severe joint pain along with 3 Vicodin a day for breakthrough medication. I'm now up to 60 mg Hysingla ER, but the 3 per day of Vicodin is just not cutting it. I'm in severe joint pain with RA and osteoporosis. May be possible Vicodin not strong enough, I think Tylenol not strong enough for me. I keep running out of the breakthrough medication by 3-4 days every month. Any suggestions?"

Hydrocodone "My pain doctor put me on Zohydro after I tried Hysingla (worked great for a couple of weeks, then only lasted about 8-12 hours - which can't work for a once every 24-hour medicine) and after I had been on Percocet and hydrocodone at varying dosages and frequencies. I've had chronic back pain for 5+ years. I'm so glad I got to try this medicine, it has changed my life. It's very expensive ($300+ per prescription before meeting my deductible), but it's totally worth it in my mind. It doesn't give you the annoying 'high' that you get from short-acting pain medication, no fuzzy thoughts, no exhaustion. Medicine usually lasts the prescribed 12 hours and takes about 50-80% pain level away."

Hydrocodone "I have just started this medication, 120 mg once daily, was on OxyContin ER 80 mg 2x day, with morphine 30 mg 3x day as needed. I have multiple disc herniations/stenosis in all three areas of the spine, failed cervical fusion, tendonitis in left and right shoulder, knee, etc. I have had multiple pain issues since the age of 30 and have had other pain treatments including injections, bilateral rhizotomies, gangliotomies. Granted, I have just started this rx after my insurance carrier decided not to pay for OxyContin 80 mg bid. I've gotten pretty good relief so far, since I was truly hesitant after reading these reviews, but so far it is no better or no worse than Oxy 80. I have had no major side effects, so I'm pretty satisfied so far."

Hydrocodone "I have taken many different pain relievers since a gunshot wound in 1995... OxyContin, Morphine, Dilaudid, Fentanyl, and Norco. I have finally found one that works perfectly for me. Zohydro ER 40 mg, with Norco 10 mg for breakthrough, gives me excellent pain relief. Although the Zohydro does not last for the entire 12 hrs, the Norco steps right in there and does the job. I am able to work, eat, drive, and sleep. I wouldn't trade it for the others I have taken because their positives do not outweigh their negatives as with the Zo's. I started on the Zo ER 15 mg about 2 yrs ago and have gradually been upgraded to 40 mg. I'm satisfied, so no need for 50 mg as of now."

Hydrocodone "I had a bad car wreck in 2011, which caused chronic back pain. I have had five surgeries, which ended up putting in a spinal cord stimulator. That helps with nerve pain, but not back pain so much. I eventually was put on Zohydro 40 mg about one year ago. He first tried 30 mg, but upped it after a month or so to be covered better. It has been a wonderful medicine to help me have a productive life. I still use (3) Norco 5 mg/325 mg for breakthrough pain a day. Looking at possibly moving to Zohydro 50 mg next month as pain has slowly increased more lately. But all in all, it has been a great drug and has helped me live a productive life with chronic pain. The SCS also has helped tremendously. It is very expensive before meeting my deductible ($500)."

Hydrocodone "Suffering from a back injury since 2001. Over a couple of years, nerve damage on the left side started. Surgery was done, L4 and L3 were removed and replaced with an artificial substance. Cage over spine with 4 screws. Limited back movement. I'm in constant pain always. Last meds were OxyContin and Percocet for breakthrough. Put on Zohydro ER, 30 mg. It's not working. It's only been about 3 weeks. Asking the doctor to put me back on previous meds. It was a job-related injury."

Hydrocodone "I have 3 herniated discs, spinal stenosis, and osteoarthritis. I suffer from constant pain every day. I've been on Norco 10/325 4x a day for 3 years now and never abused my medication. A few months ago, my doctor had me try Hysingla ER 40 mg. This medication only lasts about 17 hours and gave me about 30-40% relief with random breakthrough pain. Plus, I felt lethargic the entire day, nauseous, constipated, anxious, and excessive yawning. After putting up with it for two months, I talked with my doctor, and he switched me back to the Norco. So disappointed. I had high hopes for this medication since it was one pill every 24 hours. It just does not work as promised and is expensive."

Hydrocodone "This medication isn't that effective compared to taking Norco since Norco releases most of its metabolites within an hour, immediately causing pain relief. Switching over to Hysingla has not only cost me way more money per month but also has caused me to have severe withdrawals and pain due to its very slow time release of the medication. I take 20 mg of Norco at a time tid, and I'm on the Hysingla 30 mg. So, with that being said, my body is used to 20 mg of morphine every 6 hours. If I'm on the Hysingla 30, it means I'm only getting approximately 1.25 mg an hour. That causes the concentration of my morphine levels to drop rapidly. Bottom line, this medication does not work unless you have minor pain that can wait a while till this medication."

Hydrocodone "All of this is the fault of physicians and pharmaceutical companies. At this point, they're getting so much pressure to get people off of opioids that they either don't care or have no choice but to prescribe drugs that don't work. If they don't solve this problem, people are going to start buying heroin or something else just to get pain relief."

Hydrocodone "I’ve been suffering from chronic pain for 6 years now due to 3 lumbar herniated discs and osteoarthritis. I’ve been taking Norco 10/325 4 times a day with okay relief. Recently, my doctor had me try Hysingla 40 mg, and honestly, it just doesn’t work! It only lasts about 16-18 hours, and it made me feel very lethargic, anxious, and I would have a lot of breakthrough pain throughout the day, plus it was $413!! My insurance refused to cover it. After talking with my doctor, he switched me to MS Contin. That medication so far has worked so much better than any other extended-release opioid. If you suffer from chronic pain, I recommend you try MS Contin. It works great, and it’s very cheap even without insurance."

Hydrocodone "I've been on Norco, 5x a day with 4 Nucynta for about 8 years. I don't want to get doped up on some insanely strong opiate that makes me sleepy and unable to function. I am able to get things done on this current regimen. I have multi-level cervical herniations, C6-C7 fusion, and suffer from fibromyalgia. No fun. My doctor switched me to Hysingla 40 mg with two 7.5 Lortab with Tylenol to reduce my overall Tylenol intake. He wants to protect my liver, which I totally agree with. 30 minutes after I took the Hysingla ER, my mouth became dry, my blood pressure shot way up to stroke range, and I felt like death warmed over. I have taken just about every pain med at one time or another for any of my 7 surgeries, and I have never felt this bad because of an ER med. This Hysingla med made me feel bad enough to go to the hospital."

Hydrocodone "My doc prescribed me 20 mg of Hysingla, and this has to be the most useless drug I've ever been prescribed. I have extreme spinal stenosis, and this pain med not only was hard to get, but it was super expensive as well. Like $200! My insurance wouldn't touch this drug! I experienced no pain relief with this drug, and I took it for 2 months. I finally put my foot down and told the doc this med just doesn't work and to quit playing around giving me these useless medications and to give me something that works. I'm now on 10 mg of Percocet, and it helps me get through the workday. Heck of a lot better than useless Hysingla."

Hydrocodone "This medication works very well, and I've had no side effects that I wasn't already having by taking Norco. It's very effective and keeps my pain from getting too high, so I don't require a lot of other pills to bring my pain level down. The only thing I don't like is that my insurance declined my coverage, stating they didn't feel it was needed. How my insurance can determine that is crazy. My doctor prescribed it for a reason. Love this medication. I'm able to function and work and am never sleepy at work."

Hydrocodone "I have 3 autoimmune conditions and a very messed up back. I was on Percocet 10/325 4x a day, which was helping, but neuro put me on Hysingla 20mg and stopped all my other meds, including headache shots. Said this was a miracle drug for all my needs. All this drug done for me is cause more pain and withdrawals. If it works for you, that's great, but some folks have a higher tolerance for meds, so if you're one of these people who does have a higher tolerance to meds, it's not for you. Save your money because the cost is high, and you figure for the price you pay, you'd get some kind of relief."
