For Birth Control "So I'm on my second pack of this BC, and I love it. The first week or so, I was nauseous and did throw up. It felt like motion sickness, but it only happened twice. No weight gain, and I have a ton of energy. The only reason I'm taking BC is for hormonal acne, and let me tell you, this stuff works! I was on Previfem before, and nothing... it only made me break out worse. The only thing is, on Previfem, I had no period, it was like spotting, and on this BC, it's a bit heavier, but nothing like my regular flow."

For Birth Control "This birth control is the worst. When I first started taking it everything was fine. Around week 2 or 3 of my first pack I got migraines every day. Those have subsided on my third pack, but the nausea is awful! I take it about 10:00 at night, and around 5:00 pm the next day, I start feeling awful! Periods are not nearly as bad as usual. Barely any cramps."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I have an irregular menstrual cycle, and I went almost 5 months without having my period, so I went to seek medical help. Soon after that, my Gyn recommended I take Estarylla BC pills. On the first week, I had mild nausea (which is normal if you are a first-time BC user). I also had a lot of acne, and within that first week, my face cleared out perfectly. On my second week, nausea was non-existent, and my acne wasn't there at all. I also had a few mood swings, but nothing too crazy. By the third week, I started to notice my acne coming out only on my chin area (which is where I normally would get it when I would start my period). It was there for about 3-4 days until I finally got my period on the 14!! Lucky me. As soon as I got my period, I experienced a really heavy flow, but it's totally understandable since I haven't had it for 5 months. Right now, I am still on my period and just officially finished my first month, and I have no acne at all. Everyone's body reacts differently, don't be scared to give it a try."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I am a 40-something woman and started this med to control bleeding. It made me nauseous for the first week, then I was fine. My poor husband. Between the 15-pound weight gain and the mood swings, I have been quite unhappy! I agree with the other statements that it makes you very depressed. I struggle with depression, and this made it a lot worse. I would rather go back to bleeding every two weeks than deal with this crap! Starting on something different next week. Thank you to everyone who also replied. I don't feel like it is just me. It is definitely the medicine! So long, Estarylla!!"

For Birth Control "Was fine the first two weeks but was very moody. My boyfriend and I got into some unnecessary tiffs, and he said I was moody. Then week three, I have been nauseated every day, 24 hours a day, and have had insomnia for a week. Also, some light spotting and cramping. I threw up once, but I think it is because I did not have enough in my stomach. Will keep moving forward, but gosh, I hope this gets better! My mood is better but still sticks to my stomach. At least I am losing weight versus gaining. I was also given this as a replacement to Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo."

For Birth Control "I've been on Estarylla for about 3 weeks. I've had some nausea, but not enough to actually puke. I used to get 4-5 pimples at a time, but now I have none at all! I haven't gained any weight. Technically, there's no reason why you can't skip the placebo week and skip your period, but I like knowing for a fact whether or not I'm pregnant. I don't really have bad mood swings. My boyfriend and I were using the withdrawal method and condoms and tracking my fertility for a year and 3 months, and now we don't have to do that! So overall, I'd recommend at least giving this medication a chance because I was scared to death, but it ended up being great for me, and I'm usually very sensitive to medication."

For Birth Control "Great pill for me. I haven't noticed any crazy side effects. My skin seems to be slightly better, and I haven't cramped since being on it. My cramps can be unbearable, so this is a very welcome change. I haven't noticed any mood swings or weight gain. I only became nauseous once when I took a pill 19 hours late... oops. I've really enjoyed this compared to other birth controls I have been on."

For Birth Control "Read all these negative reviews and still tried it because I have horrible periods. DON'T BE LIKE ME, DON'T DO IT. If you must take this pill, at least quit after a month or sooner if you are feeling bad. I stuck it out for 2.5 months like an idiot because I was trying for the 3-month mark. Everyone in my life was worried. This pill made me extremely depressed, anxious to the point that I spent those two months doing nothing. Constant migraines. Horrible nausea, which is not something I've experienced ever before in my life. Even now, going off of it, I'm still nauseous just from how much it messed me up. I was so emotional, and it was clearly hormonal. That feeling you get when you are on your period and you cry at a commercial but ALL THE TIME. Month of spotting then heavy bleeding on my period. This pill robbed me of 3 months of my life that I'll never get back, and I could have easily lost even more. Be careful. (took Lutera before and never had such severe side effects, I'm in my mid-20s)"

For Birth Control "I have started Estarylla on July 7th, 2021. It’s been two days, and it’s making me sick to my stomach. I feel horrible. I’m constantly nauseous and can’t even stand to eat or drink anything. Hopefully, this gets better."

For Birth Control "I've been on Estarylla for about 3-4 months. I have tried to give my body time to adjust to this pill, but I really am not a fan. I have horrible mood swings, worsening anxiety and depression, spotting, cramps, bloating, and nausea after taking the pill - sometimes to the point where I throw up. The only 'pro' is that I'm not pregnant. Can't wait to get off this medication."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "Was on Sprintec for years and recently started having increased nausea and increased nervousness. GYN switched me to Estarylla. I've been on it for a month now, and I feel really good. No nausea, headaches, less cramping, but it takes about 3 months to regulate in your body, so the breakthrough bleeding has been unpredictable. With Sprintec, I didn't have a cycle for 3-4 months (taking it back to back), but now I've had some spotting and 2 episodes of heavy bleeding with clots unexpectedly. Don't like that, but cramps are much less and emotions are constant, so I will just wait it out the 3 months, hoping my body will regulate. Other than the bleeding, I actually love this pill so far."

For Birth Control "I just stopped taking this birth control two days ago. I feel like I was going insane. I have done nothing but cry the past 3 days. I've been dating my boyfriend for 3 months, and I am absolutely in love with him, and this made me feel no emotions. I feel numb and insane. I can cry over everything, and at first, I didn’t realize why I was feeling this way, and then I realized this was the cause. I felt nauseous in the morning the first few days, my skin did clear, but I am not sure if it is due to the drug or my acne cream, clindamycin. This birth control should be taken off the shelves, it has made me feel absolutely insane. My sex drive has decreased, probably due to my constant sobbing. I felt emotionally detached and numb. DO NOT TAKE."

For Birth Control "I was on Sprintec birth control that was great, and then my pharmacy switched me to Estarylla. I started taking it, and I have been so nauseous and vomited twice last night. I also had to stop my workout at the gym because I thought I was going to pass out or vomit. I do not recommend taking this BC if it has any of the same effects as it did to me!"

For Birth Control "Originally I was on the Junel birth control pill, but I was bleeding for over 6 weeks, so they switched me to the Estarylla pill, and boy was I in a dark place. Not only that, but I’m pregnant now - 3 months. So I don’t recommend it. I was always tired, sad, irritated, just overall not in a good place. But now that I’m pregnant and off the pill, I feel much better, minus the morning sickness."

For Birth Control "Do not use this. I was switched over by CVS off of Mononessa, and it has been the worst thing for me EVER. I have been on Estarylla for about 4 months, and I have gained about 20 pounds (keep in mind I run at least 10 miles a week, along with weight training 5-6 times a week), so this weight gain is absurd. Along with the weight gain, I spot for a week before my period, then my period lasts me a week. With Mononessa, I would only have my period with no side effects for 5 days. Now here I am on Estarylla, and I have become an emotional wreck and cry without any reasoning. Two weeks before my period, I become so nauseous I cannot get out of bed. The bloating is absurd as well. Basically, if you want to feel like crap, then go ahead and take this."

For Birth Control "I have been sick since the first night, extreme abdominal pain, nausea, spotting, dizziness, and headaches. I haven't had any real mood changes save for being overly sensitive and crying at the drop of a hat. Terrible, find another brand."

"First, I know everyone reacts differently to birth control. When I first started BC, I had migraines so bad, but soon they went away, as well as had bad acne, and that cleared as well. I switched to Estarylla from Sprintec. I’m currently in my 3rd week of the pill and have had weird mood swings, stomach bloating, and cramping (while I’m not on my period), and have had no appetite, but when I do eat, I feel nauseous. I’m hoping that I have the symptoms now, but like my acne and migraine on Sprintec, they go away after the first month. Everyone reacts their own way. I have a sensitive tummy, so I make sure to take my pill in the evening and to eat with it. I’ve also come to the conclusion that while on this pill, to drink LOTS of water because I feel drained of energy all the time, and the water seems to help."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I was prescribed a high dose of Estarylla. Prior to starting the BC, within four months my cycle had gone from normal (3-5 days) to extremely heavy and nonstop for two days. I knew because of the high dose I would experience severe side effects, which I hoped would eventually go away once my body adjusted... And they are. First month on BC - big, painful blemishes, extremely bloated and nauseated. Second month on BC - clear skin, hardly have an appetite, still somewhat nauseated. I think my third month will be better!"

For Ovarian Cysts "I was on Mononessa for several years. The pharmacy stopped carrying that brand and switched to this brand. The first three months were not great but tolerable. Periods were moderate flow but still an average of 5 days long. The fourth month on this drug started nausea mid-cycle. Then spotting started the third week of the pack, followed by an 8-day moderate flow period. This is absolutely awful. I take the pill at the exact same time every day, never missed a pill. This pill is supposed to be the same as Ortho-Cyclen and the other generics, but I think there is something drastically wrong with this brand. Do NOT recommend this one at all. Back to find Mononessa."

For Birth Control "I was put on this pill after being on TriNessa Lo for 6 months. The first week I took it, I had mild dizziness but didn’t think much of it. I’m now on day 3 of the second week and have SEVERE nausea and dizziness and can hardly stand. I called my doctor, and she immediately switched me to a new one."

For Birth Control "I was taking Sprintec and never had any issue there. Then I moved and the new pharmacy gave me this generic one. I thought they would be the same, and I was completely wrong. I took them for three nights just to get my body used to the change. Each night the pain got worse and worse. I was waking up at 2 am with terrible abdominal pains, and I could not stop throwing up. I stopped taking them yesterday, and today my stomach is feeling a little better. I am now going to get back on Sprintec."

For Birth Control "I've been on this birth control for 3 weeks, and I feel sick all the time and have nausea after I eat. I have had spotting for 2 weeks nonstop, and I have not felt like myself since taking this. I also was very bloated the second week after taking Estarylla. I've been very anxious and feel fatigued and have no appetite at all. Do not take this birth control. I'm not sure how good it works with preventing pregnancy, but it's definitely not worth all the side effects that come with it."

For Birth Control "If I could rate this as a 0/10, I would. I was reluctant to take this after reading reviews on here, but my doc assured me it would be okay. WRONG. Within one week of taking this, I would cry at the smallest things, I was extremely moody, I was nauseous ALL DAY, and I began to develop cystic acne. I have not once had an issue with any of these things until I started this birth control. I would not recommend this at all. It did prevent pregnancy, but the side effects were NOT worth it."

For Birth Control "Awful. Horrid. Looks like I've had a similar experience to many others here. I was formerly on Mononessa, it has worked great for me for years, but it was no longer carried at my pharmacy or any other local pharmacy. My doc/pharmacy switched me to Estarylla, as it was 'generic' for Mononessa. I was on it for about two weeks and became severely depressed. It made me sick to my stomach with nausea, and I was an emotional wreck. As soon as I got off of it, I felt instantly better. I am now on Trinessa, for those who are trying to find a similar alternative to Mononessa. It's only been about a week, but much better than Estarylla."
