"I wish I had read these reviews before I started taking this. Horrible nausea, acne, and no sex drive after just a week. I didn’t even realize they were correlated until I decided to do a search of its side effects because I just left a party because I was so nauseated. I don’t recommend this at all."

For Birth Control "Reading the horror stories about Estarylla had made me very wary when it was prescribed by my doctor. But in all honesty, I feel completely fine! The first two weeks came with a bit of nausea and light headaches (lasted 5-10 minutes max). But after that, I felt no different! I haven’t experienced any weight gain, no acne… if anything, I personally feel it’s helping my acne. I don’t have any raging mood swings. So I’d say don’t knock it till you try it! :)"

For Birth Control "I was given a different brand, which I took for 6 months. Then I was given another brand, Estarylla. It has had a negative effect. My acne keeps getting worse every month while I’m on Estarylla. These pills made me depressed, gained weight. I am switching back to Femynor, which cleared my acne and didn’t give me nausea."

For Birth Control "It has given me no problems other than a little bit of nausea and stomach discomfort. It treats me well. It’s very effective. I did notice my moods are a little swingy, but as long as you’re around the right people, it’s fine."

For Birth Control "Just like everyone else, Walgreens recently switched me to Estarylla from Mononessa. I've been on a form of generic BC for 15 years and never experienced anything like the last two months. My acne is cystic and causing scarring on my face, which has never happened. I have had nausea, and my periods are so out of whack. I literally never know when I am starting or ending and also have random spotting. I am extremely irritable and moody. I have had some issues with random hives. I am not sure if it's related, but seeing all the other issues this is causing, I am just going to believe this is the culprit. I would NOT recommend this generic brand. I am switching pharmacies."

For Birth Control "When first taking this medication, I threw up the first few days of taking it. Through the months, I have experienced excruciating pain 2-6 hours after taking it. I normally take it around 11 or 12, right before bed, so between 1 and 6 in the morning, I am wakened up by the pain. It's an aching pain with nausea. It is about once or twice a month, but when it occurs, it is unbearable! It lasts for about an hour or until I can fall asleep in the fetal position (the only thing that lessens the pain). I am not allergic to anything nor sensitive to foods, so I am sure it is not related to consumed foods. It does have some positives. I ALWAYS receive my period on the same day and am not pregnant. So it does what it was intended for!"

For Birth Control "I've been on this birth control for 3 weeks, and I feel sick all the time and have nausea after I eat. I have had spotting for 2 weeks nonstop, and I have not felt like myself since taking this. I also was very bloated the second week after taking Estarylla. I've been very anxious and feel fatigued and have no appetite at all. Do not take this birth control. I'm not sure how good it works with preventing pregnancy, but it's definitely not worth all the side effects that come with it."

For Birth Control "I was on this during high school when my periods were off. It worked amazingly, then I found out why my periods were off and stopped taking any. However, now that I am older, I needed it as preventative and because my periods were off again. I tried another brand and felt sick 24/7, endless vomiting, and my weight shot up in just 2-3 months from 150 lb to 190 lb. Even though my lifestyle had not changed. I asked to be switched back to Estarylla, and immediately the nausea stopped. I feel like I am not on anything at all. My weight is now back down to 160 lb, it is still a process but a much easier one now. My periods are back to regular, which even off of BC was three days a week. My cramps that were always unbelievable are nearly gone every time too. It is a very effective preventative as well for my boyfriend and me. The best thing is, with my insurance, I get a 3-month supply for under $12."

For Birth Control "I’ve started with Monessa. It caused me to spot for a month straight, so it was like I had a period for a whole month. This also delayed my intimate time with my boyfriend, which was super annoying and defeated the purpose of birth control. So after that horrible month, I ended up somehow getting switched to Estarylla. I’ve been on this birth control for about 3 months now. With this birth control, there are a few side effects, which included weight gain, a little acne here and there, nausea, moments of depression and crying spells, increased sex drive, a few seconds of blurred vision, increased appetite, and tenderness of breasts. Some people were saying that their hair falls out on this, it’s NEVER happened to me. I rate this birth control an 8. I have regular periods around the same time every month that only last for about 4 days, and my cycles are light. ZERO SPOTTING. Plus, I haven’t gotten pregnant yet, so that’s always a bonus for me! I’m beyond fine with my side effects."

For Birth Control "I gave my body two months to get used to Estarylla before I had to stop taking it. It was two of the worst months of my life. I could barely eat, was extremely tired all the time, and developed horrible acne on my forehead. But the worst side effects were the nausea, vomiting, and horrible diarrhea. I threw up every day for two months, and even drinking water would cause me to have to run to the bathroom immediately. It was an all-day fiasco, every single day. As soon as I stopped taking it and my period ended, I immediately felt like myself again. My stools returned to normal consistency (sorry for TMI), and my skin cleared right up. This is why I know it was the Estarylla causing these issues. Everyone is different, but I personally would absolutely not recommend this birth control."

For Birth Control "I was on Mononessa for almost 2 years, loved it, then my pharmacy, unbeknownst to me, switched over to this Estarylla. It has now been 3 months. 3 days prior to my period and all throughout my period, I have a severe headache, nausea, major stomach cramping, and dizziness. My period does not start until 3-4 days into the iron supplements and lasts a few days into a new pill pack. I talked to my OBGYN, and she suggested that I just start a new pack immediately after I end the old one instead of taking the iron pills and possibly avoid the side effects. I do not suggest Estarylla, this drug did not work well with my body."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I was prescribed this only for hormones. I had a tubal ligation, so the actual birth control was not an issue. After I was in my 4th month, symptoms became evident that this was not the pill for me. I was nauseous every morning, no sex drive to the point my husband considered the possibility of an affair (which totally was the opposite), night sweats, dryness, major mood instability with a lot of irritation (I was annoyed super easily), constant crazy urinating, felt dehydrated, my insulin levels high, strange/longer periods, and 30 extra pounds. My cramps, however, did go down a lot."

For Birth Control "I was so nauseous at first, then it went to extreme mood swings and severe anger problems and extremely depressed. The nausea subsided. I have been bleeding for a max total of a month while on this, and it feels like it’s just horrible."

For Birth Control "Originally, I was on Mononessa for a year. I never really noticed any problems. I've always had acne and mood swings, but I noticed a huge difference when Walgreens couldn't get this type of birth control anymore. They switched me to another kind of generic for Mononessa (not sure of the name), but still no big issue there. The next month, they switched me to Estarylla, and that's when I noticed extreme nausea at the same time every day, definite mood swings, lack of sex drive. Although my face has never been this clear, I still don't think it's worth it. They say that generics are all the same medications, but it's simply not true! I would've remembered feeling this nauseous!"

For Birth Control "I know everybody is different, but for me, this was an awful birth control. I was on Sprintec for two years until my pharmacy switched me to this, saying that it was the same pill, just a different name. That is completely wrong. I felt completely fine on Sprintec, I had hardly any side effects whatsoever. After one month on Estarylla, I developed depression and severe mood swings. I'd lash out at people for the smallest things and then feel completely awful about it once I calmed down. I’ve never had acne, but this made me break out so badly and gain so much weight despite being nauseous and having hardly any appetite. I will not be taking this one ever again and will demand to be switched back to Sprintec immediately."

For Birth Control "I was put on this pill after giving birth, and so far it has been the worst thing ever. It started off fine, and slowly it started to make me really sad every single day. Then it made me really angry, and it feels like there’s never a good day. It has caused migraines, nausea, abdominal pain, low sex drive, and bleeding for more than a month. It’s effective to prevent pregnancy, but I don’t recommend it for mental health."

For Birth Control "So I only took it for about 2 weeks. The first 5 days, I felt terrible. I had a pounding headache for 4 days straight. I felt sick to my stomach for 6 days, then I felt fine 'til day 11. I took my socks off for bed and noticed my left ankle swelled to twice the size of my right ankle. No pain, though, but I knew it had to be from the birth control. I stopped taking it immediately. The swelling went down the 2nd day, and by the 3rd day, it was gone! Maybe I didn't take it long enough for a complete review, but I wanted to share that anyway."

For Birth Control "This medication is the worst thing that ever happened to me. My pharmacy switched me over from Sprintec because they said it's the generic version with the same formula, that might be true on the label, but it seems to react like it is completely different. I've never felt so sick from a medication before. I have nausea every single morning I wake up, and every other morning I will vomit. Sex drive is non-existent (because I never feel good). Acne weirdly increased when I switched, but that may just be due to lifestyle choices, not sure. All in all, this is the worst rubbish I've ever put into my body. If I could give it a zero, I would."

For Birth Control "This oral contraceptive screwed with me. I took Sprintec for years followed by Mononessa. Never really had an issue. Walgreens recently switched manufacturers and now they carry Estarylla instead of Mononessa. With Estarylla I am itchy and severely nauseous, even to the point of vomiting. After 2 weeks or so I decided it wasn’t worth it and an off birth control for the first time in years until I find a new pharmacy that carries Sprintec or Mononessa."

For Birth Control "I’ve been on Estarylla for two months now, and I’ve noticed a lot of negative changes in my body. The first month, I was nauseous every day with a splitting headache. I couldn’t do anything because I felt like garbage. (However, these symptoms seemed to go away during my period.) When I started up the second month, I noticed my nausea went down, but my head still hurts, I have developed bad anxiety, irritation, and depression. I don’t want to get out of bed in the morning, I feel groggy, I just want to sleep, and not be social. (If you knew me, you would know this isn’t normal for me.) I mean, it’s effective birth control so far, but it’s just messed me up psychologically and physically to the point of not wanting to take it anymore. I know every woman’s body and experience is different, but I just thought I would share my experience to see if other women experience the same side effects."

For Birth Control "I’ve been on this birth control for a year now and I’m considering stopping taking birth control altogether! Really, I got on this because I didn’t want to get pregnant and I had talked to my doctor about my acne. It has helped my acne for the most part, and I haven’t gotten pregnant. But I have noticed that I don’t feel like myself anymore, I have terrible mood swings, feel depressed at times, and I just don’t have any motivation to do anything anymore. I have lost weight due to decreased appetite, which is not a good thing for me. I have experienced stomach problems taking this as well, such as nausea, and my stomach will be bloated at random times."

For Birth Control "I too was switched from Sprintec to Estarylla. We are told to give our bodies time to 'adjust' to the hormones. I think this is rubbish, ladies! I never adjusted. The nausea kept getting worse. I would wake up like clockwork nightly to vomit. Almost like having the morning sickness I experienced during my pregnancy. I should have listened to my body sooner. These big pharma companies and doctors who are in their pockets will tell and give us anything. Hardly removed from snake oil salesmen. Especially preying on 'low income' customers. Do not take this pill!!"

For Birth Control "I was on this birth control to actually get pregnant because my periods are so irregular. I've literally gone 9 months without a period, so as you can see, no periods, no babies. This birth control is horrible. I've only been on it for 3 weeks now. I've had terrible mood swings, acne breakouts, terrible cramping to the point of going to the hospital thinking something was wrong with me. I felt very nauseous and lightheaded and had bad headaches. By the 3rd week, I had clumps of hair coming out in the shower. I've never had any of these issues before. The only good I can give this is the fact that it made my period light and actually come on time."

For Birth Control "I'm on day 2 of taking this pill. The first day was terrible. I felt foggy, anxious, my palms were clammy, and I was very dizzy. My head felt like a balloon. It passed after I went for a run. The second day was worse. I was violently nauseated, same headache. The smell of certain foods made me sick. I vomited. Today is day 3, and I am seriously contemplating calling my GYN to switch. I don't want to be difficult and give up so quickly, but if I have to feel like this daily, I will gladly switch. I can't even perform my job duties properly because I'm constantly going to the bathroom. This pill is horrible."
