For Birth Control "HORRIBLE! If you are used to taking Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo, this is not a substitute! I've had crazy mood swings, depression, fatigue, bleeding, nausea day and waking me up at night, and to make it worse I've broken out worse than I have been in years. Almost worse than I had in middle school, and I'm 31. Stay away!"

For Ovarian Cysts "I was very scared to start Estarylla at first because of the reviews, but keep in mind that we’re all different. When I first started, my emotions were all over the place, I wanted to cry and then just felt angry. This then went away after the first week. I also got some headaches and was definitely nauseous throughout my first month. I missed two days and spotted for like a week, I don't know if that’s normal or not. Lastly, my breasts were sore as anything! But overall, I don’t think it was a terrible experience. I still have to see if it did anything to help with my ovarian cysts, even though I still have minor aches on my sides."

For Acne "I read a whole ton of bad reviews on this, specifically the side effects, but so far I have had no side effects. My friend stopped taking BC because of the nausea (I have no idea which brand/type), so I was iffy, but so far I love it! It's cleared my terrible acne problem almost fully. My periods are like they always have been, a day or two longer, but I think that's because I stopped working out as much. I would give it a 10, but I've not taken the drug that long to truly know."

For Birth Control "I've been on this birth control for about three or four months now. My doctor prescribed it because I was getting to the point where I was sexually active frequently and she said this one was good, and it is! For pregnancy prevention, at least. But it has a few downsides. This medication makes me very prone to panic attacks, mood swings, and depressed states. When I start a new pack, I always get a little nauseous, and I bloat easily. It's very on and off for period regulation. Sometimes I'm light, sometimes heavy, sometimes no period at all. That being said, my acne is gone, and I'm not pregnant, and my cramping is minimal. Does its job, but not for everybody."

For Birth Control "DO NOT TAKE THIS PILL. I was on Mononessa for years and loved it until the pharmacy switched it to this garbage. At first, it was typical, but by the 3rd week my health flipped. My anxiety and depression got so bad, I was feeling nauseous and lightheaded all day. I had so much trouble breathing, had low self-esteem and was overthinking everything and couldn’t handle stress. I was exhausted all the time but would wake up constantly with chills, and my heart was racing nonstop. I finally realized the only thing that’s different was this stupid pill, so I quit taking it, but not before my doctor informed me I now have an overactive thyroid that was likely brought on by this. For mental and physical health, don’t accept this pill."

For Birth Control "This pill actually made me depressed, anxious, and nauseous to the point where I couldn't function. I took it for two years when I was first prescribed it because I never actually associated the symptoms with the pill until one day I brought up how I was nauseous all the time to my doctor, and she recommended I switch pills. Once I got off this pill, I immediately felt happier and less anxious. It did prevent pregnancy, but literally, whenever I would take even the tiniest drink of any kind of alcohol, I'd be nauseous for the rest of the night. I recently took this pill again for a few days, and these symptoms immediately returned. Never touching it again."

For Birth Control "For reference, I am 18 years old, and this would be my first ever birth control. I looked up reviews and am imminently terrified to start the pack. I actually did not start the pack until two weeks ago because of the reviews I've read on here. I did have a talk with my boyfriend, and he reassured me that if I keep thinking negatively about it, then I will have a negative outcome, so I started the pack two weeks ago. On the first day of taking the pill, I felt extremely nauseous, but it went away a couple of hours later, and this is common for people starting birth control, so I had no worries. So far, the only side effects I've had are that I've realized that I'm eating more (increased appetite), which I didn't mind because I've started going to the gym. I've also had a higher sex drive. Overall, definitely try this birth control! Everyone and every body is different, and you never know!"

For Birth Control "I’m finishing up my 2nd pack now of Estarylla, and thought I’d write a review! This is the first birth control I’ve ever used, by the way. The only negative effect I’ve experienced has been nausea. It seems to come 6-10 hours after I take the pill and comes in waves. It's not every day, and thankfully when it does happen, it starts around the time I go to bed or very late in the morning (I take it at 6 pm and work third shift). Honestly, if I felt nauseous at work or during the day, it would be uncomfortable. Other than that, I enjoy this pill. I used to have a heavy period that lasted 7 days, but last month, the first 2 days I was spotting, and the next 4 I had a light/regular flow. I haven’t seen any other positive effects (clear skin, reduced body hair), but hopefully that will come."

For Birth Control "What a horrible medication!!! I started taking this pill after my 2nd baby. I noticed mood swings, but I thought it was just my hormones after having a baby. But it got worse. After a month of being on this pill, I was either angry or sad all the time, very unhappy. I refused to believe that it could be depression, but I started to find myself crying in my room alone, anxious, just not feeling myself. That is not all. I thought I had some kind of stomach virus for a month, and it wasn't going away: nauseous, vomiting, dizziness, and severe headache. It felt like a stroke waiting to happen. Do not take this pill!!!"

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "Despite all of the awful reviews, I’m actually pretty happy with this pill. About 2 years ago, I was on Trinessa Lo, and it was awful. I had headaches so bad I thought my head was going to pop. I was always moody and cried over nothing. I would have a lot of really dark depressed thoughts as well and almost got sent to a mental hospital. This made me so scared to try anything else, but I’m glad I have. In the beginning, for about a week, I did get slight headaches and nausea, but it was nothing unbearable. I’m currently on my first month and just started the placebo pills, and all side effects are gone. The only issue is my period hasn’t appeared, but I heard that’s typically normal in the first three months as your body is adjusting. But overall, I’m happy with this pill."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "The worst birth control I have ever been on in my entire life! I'm extremely glad I found this site so I can see that other women are experiencing very similar side effects as I am! Due to an MRI I had to get done because of a car accident, my doctor was able to detect a nodule in my liver. I immediately got it checked out. It seems that the birth control caused fatty tissue to develop on my liver. My doctor wants me to get off the pill once I finish with this month's batch. Since I've been on this pill for almost a year, I get non-stop bleeding that looks like a brown dried-up color, and it'll continue for the whole month until I get my period. I get mood swings, nausea, and loss of appetite. If you feel like something is not right, please reach out to your GYN!"

For Birth Control "I’ve been taking Mononessa for about two years when my pharmacy switched me to Estarylla without a heads up. I’ve only been on this new pill for 5 days, and I already hate it. I have the most uncomfortable/painful constant itching on my vulva, paired with nausea every time I take the pill. I’ve been extremely on edge and grumpy. I can’t wait to switch. Would not recommend."

For Birth Control "I went off birth control this past year after 10 years because I was having low libido. But I had to go back on birth control because of irregular periods. I went on Estarylla the 1st week of April 2020. The 1st month wasn't bad, only a little decrease. Now it's month 2, and my libido is the worst EVER. I can't even have an orgasm at all. It's like someone turned off my clitoris, there is just zero feeling. I haven't had sex all of May. I don't want to continue Estarylla. So, PROS: clear skin! I don't notice a difference in depression/mood swings. I've only been on this for 2 months, meaning only 1 period, but I didn't have bad cramping/PMS. CONS: the non-existent sex drive, and my period was heavy and 6 long days. Slight nausea in week 1 of the pills during both months I've taken it. If my sex drive was in a more normal range while taking this, I would 100% stay on it, all other side effects are not bad at all. I know it's from this birth control. The past year while I was off birth control, my libido/sexual pleasure was much better."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I started Estarylla four months ago to regulate my periods. I was having a period every two weeks. The first month I took it, I bled for an entire month. When I called the OB-GYN, I was advised to give it three months to regulate my period. Now my period has become erratic and lasts longer than 7 days. This past period started two weeks ago and ceases to let up. Along with prolonged periods, I have experienced stomach nausea, vomiting, anxiety, and extreme mood swings. I plan to visit my OB-GYN soon to discuss new options. This is my first time experiencing a negative reaction to birth control."

For Birth Control "This is the worst pill ever! I'm on the 4th day, and all these past days, even the first day, I have been having such bad anxiety, dark thoughts, moodiness, crying, and having super bad nausea. Don't take it."

For Birth Control "I am starting my 3rd month of Estarylla. I was nervous to start it after reading all these bad reviews, but it has worked fine for me. I started taking it just for birth control, but I've noticed my skin has been clearing up too. One side effect I've noticed is that I feel a little nauseous the first few days of starting a pack-nothing serious, though. I also get bloated more easily. Overall, I'm satisfied with how it's working for me."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I was on Sprintec, but I guess my pharmacy changed the distributor. Anyway, these pills gave me really bad acne, nausea, and random bleeding and pain. I stopped taking them before I could even finish 1 month of the pack. I do not recommend!"

For Birth Control "I was taking Loryna for about 2 years with no issues. My doctor decided to switch me to Estarylla, and this has been the worst experience of my adult life. I immediately felt terrible after taking the Estarylla. I said that I would give it a few days for my body to start adjusting, but a month later my body did not adjust. I felt as if I was losing control of my life daily because of this medicine. My doctor thought it was a good switch, but because I know my body, I knew something was wrong. I tried taking it with and without food to see if that would make a difference. I also tried changing the time of day to see if that would help. I still felt TERRIBLE! I was bloated, had nausea, and had the worst case of the jitters daily. I could barely finish a meal without feeling gassy and bloated. I was getting headaches daily, and not to mention the fatigue and heavy breakthrough bleeding that I never had with Loryna. This has got to be the worst birth control pill on the market."

"I feel so strongly about this drug that I really want to warn other women about taking it. I am 32 years old and have been on various forms of birth control since I was 15. My insurance company switched me to this brand, and I didn't think anything of it because the pharmacist reassured me the generic was the same as Ortho Tricyclin Lo, which I had been on for years. Five months after being on this drug, I had to go on antidepressants, had crippling anxiety, constant nausea (I lost 15 lbs), and felt terrible. I finally realized the BC may have been the cause of mood changes and stopped taking it. I felt completely better in 2 weeks and even immediately went off the antidepressants. I still feel great. Be wary of this birth control!"

For Birth Control "Absolutely horrible, randomly got switched from my regular pill, Ortho Tri-Cyclen. I'm pretty sure I was given poison because I have been non-stop vomiting since taking this pill. My regular birth control made me nauseous at first, but not bad at all, but this stuff actually made me feel like I was going to die."

For Birth Control "I had been wondering what was going on when I started vomiting and being nauseous when I started this pill last month. I thought it was something else. But now I have had extreme depression and moodiness and constant migraines, and I came here to see that it’s likely this pill. I didn’t get pregnant, so that’s a win, but I am miserable all the time, so I am taking myself off this ASAP."

For Birth Control "I’ve been taking the birth control for about 3 months and was terrified because of the reviews. I was afraid mostly of weight gain and mood swings. At the beginning, there was some breast tenderness, but that has completely gone away now. I have had zero side effects, except feeling a little nauseous the first couple of days of the placebo pills (it goes away if I eat). It has also made my face feel a little rougher, but I am the only one who notices. Don’t know how it works for birth control yet because I am waiting until I get married in 2 months. I believe taking it at the same time every day helps effectiveness. I set my alarm to 4:45 am and take it habitually every day. Like someone else said, trust your doctor and just try it. Every body is different, and most side effects go away after about 3 months. Make sure you use it correctly, like taking it at the same time every day too!"

For Birth Control "Everyone is different, and I’m glad this works well for some. These side effects are rough for me. This is my third month on Estarylla after being switched from Sprintec, like many others. I got behind in school because of the anxiety and depression, which I didn’t attribute to the pill because I am predisposed to those conditions without it. I was more irritable and wanted to isolate. I couldn’t motivate myself to be a person that actively participates in life. Also, it prevented pregnancy but also sex. Vaginal dryness in my late 20s is a mood killer for him and me. He feels he is doing something wrong, and I feel bad that no matter how horny I am, my body won’t respond. It cost me money in lube, and it was hard to get into sex after that. That wasn’t the worst part, though. The first week of these pills made me nauseous. I was so ill. This is the third month trying to adjust my body before I called it quits. I have lost 10 lbs in 48 hours because of the excessive diarrhea."

For Birth Control "I am on day 5 of taking this BC. I am miserable because I am violently vomiting, and the nausea is so bad I can't get off the couch. To be fair, my body has never done well with hormonal BC in the past. I hope this subsides soon! Other than the nausea and being sick, I don't have any other complaints at the moment. ~good luck all ❤️"

For Birth Control "I've been on Estarylla 0.25 mg for a month and a half now. I've had such terrible experiences with birth control pills. But I can say there's not too much bad I can say about Estarylla other than I am nauseous as if I'm pregnant. Mornings seem to be the worst. I take my pill at night to help avoid sickness, but I'm sick regardless. But I can say it's cleared up my ache and NO CRAZY MOOD SWINGS! Thank God.. NO MORE depression, anxiety, night sweats, NO WEIGHT GAIN. I'm waiting on period #2 to see how my blood flow will be this month because unlike the other pills, I can say I had a longer period than the typical 3-4 days. My period last month was a good 7-10 days. I am hoping this month will be lighter and my typical 3-4 days :)"
